Hospes Amerigo - Alicante

When we first arrived , the air con in our room was not working but in fairness to the hotel they provided us with a fan. However, the main problem was our room which was very noisy. Located just above the reception area on the first floor, we could hear the breakfast room being set up in the morning plus other hotel activity, which was irritating, […] but I understand sometimes everyone is just unlucky in the room they get allocated. However, the main problem was on the Saturday night when the there was a private function in the downstairs bar. Our room was located right over this function, which kept me awake till 4am, when I had to go down to the reception to complain after previously ringing down at 2.30am. I was there for a relaxing weekend with my sister and this happened on the third night of our stay. I would be very surprised if the hotel did not know that noise levels in our room would be an issue and feel very disappointed in our stay. Especially since my sister was a returning guest, there seems to be little loyalty on behalf of the hotel to take care of regular customers. Ironically in our room ,there was also a book on how the hospes amerigo prides itself on its guests getting a good nights sleep. I could not recommend this hotel to anyone. As I feel that they just saw an opportunity for full occupancy in the hotel without considering the quality of their guests stay. Devamı

Quite a step up from Hospes Palua de la Mar in Valencia, which we cannot rate as a 5 star hotel.

We enjoyed our stay in the Hospes Amerigo which was perfect for our short stay as it was close to the main attractions. The pool was the only disappointing feature due to its size but this didn't detract from our stay.

We had a fabulous stay in July. Rooms very lux and great product in the bathroom. The hotel is in a fabulous location. We really really enjoyed our stay. If I had to find fault it would be that the restaurant attached to the hotel serves the smallest glasses of wine I have ever seen and the air con in the room is not as full on as I would have liked […] for the time of yr. These are minor though. We loved it so much that have booked a stay for my husbands parents as a treat. Devamı

premium apts excellent for a weeks stay. good location although a little noisy as other guests have posted. locals and families tend to eat much later than the brits and therefore are still out and about well after midnight. similarly the very hot days mean early starts eg for street cleaning etc. if you can accept this trade off you should have an […] enjoyable stay - you can always sleep at the beach or rooftop pool! Very nice hotel extremely central location. Nice staff and good rooms. Breakfast was so-so. Spa - not really enough fasilities to call itselt a spa. Small indoor swimmingpool, sauna, excersice room and one person staff treatment room. Treatment preffessionally done, but expensive for Spain.

this hotel was perfectly located near the beach,marina and old town with numerous very good restuarants nearby.the only issue we had was breakfast priced at 18 euros but we just didn't take it and had a croissant and coffee in a cafe for 1.95 euro.

A lovely hotel right in the heart of Alicante old town, nothing like the surrounding tat. Front rooms are bigger and lighter, but street can be noisy. Back rooms look out onto internal courtyard which means they can be dark. Good quality fittings, but needs updating. Very comfortable, stall excellent. Breakfast gets top marks - great selection of fruit, […] juices, and pastries, you can order hot food. We started in a back room and asked to be moved to the front - no trouble at all. Reputedly the best hotel in Alicanhte - and having stayed in a few it is certainly up there. The location is very good- on the edge of the Bario - but the compromise is the noise- the hotel is surrounded by small streets with noisy pavement restaurants and cafes that serve till well past midfnight. - but being an old building with thick walls you do […] not hear anything with the balcony doors shut. I used this hotel for a short 3 day break to Alicante. I stayed in one of their apartments which was very well equiped with; ciooker, fridge/freezer tv ect. The only fault I could find, was only had 3 coat hangers, barely enough for a single person visit. All rooms do have wifi. The hotel is in a perfect location, very close to shops, beach, tram and […] airport bus. Staff in the hotel were very professional and helpful with still being friendly. I didn't eat at the hotel, but food did look very, very good. Form my next visit, I wont bother looking at other hotels in Alicante, I'll book this one straight away. Devamı

fantastic boutique hotel, been before would go again. only one gripe this time, the pool/spa area was starting to look a bit run down, the pool and surround were a bit grubby, not what you expect in a 5 star hotel

Our stay at the Hospes Amerigo was very pleasant, the location is excellent, staff extremely helpful. We stayed in one of the apartments situated a few steps down from the main hotel. It was nicely decorated and furnished, minimal but very modern. No bath, shower only, and although bath robes were advertised there were none provided. Also despite it […] being mid-December the bedding was very light and no extra blankets or pillows in the apartment. We had to have the heating on all night to keep warm. The car parking charge was very expensive as are the bar prices. The hotel is very nice but overpriced, not many facilities or extras considering it is rated as five stars. Devamı

Nicely decorated hotel. We stayed in the appartments and they were modern, warm and very clean with maid service and fresh towels every day. The only problem with this place is that the street is very noisy between midnight and about 2am. The main reason seems to be garbage trucks emptying the bins every night (good to keep clean, but very noisy) and […] lorries leaving their engines running while they offload metal barrels and deliver things to the business nearby. The reception team were constantly on the phone or mobile or both. The reception gave zero attention to their clients. Please also get card readers for the rooms, as one heavy cumbersome key between two guests is so out dated. This hotel was exactly as we hoped it would be and more. From the minute you step through the door the whole ambience of the hotel relaxes you immediately. It has this air of sophisticated calmness about it. The staff are very professional and polite and really helpful if you need advice. The rooms are very spacious and comfortable. There is a roof terrace bar and seating area alongside the rooftop pool but to be honest we couldn't stand the heat up there - it was boiling! Lovely spa facilities and great breakfast. This hotel is probably one of the most attractive buildings in Alicante. The internal courtyard is lovely and the location is brilliant for everything. This hotel is beautifully restored. Because it is near the seafront we experienced early morning noise from clubbers going home (5 - 6am). Also were awoken at 4.30am by someone in nearby room with clonky shoes. Does not quite live up to its slogan of a good night's sleep guaranteed in a Dreamer Room. The hotel was wonderful and the staff were helpful and friendly.The breakfast was so good!We arrived at the start of a festival and the buzz in the city was fantastic! We had the best holiday and so much of this was down to the friendliness of the people and the staff in the hotel. We will be back!

Like other reviewers I found the place to be in a convenient location and clean. Believe it or not I was in Alicante on business. Coming in the from the US and not being aware of it, I was surprised to see all the UK people in Alicante on vacation and that the place is basically a resort for working class Brits. Anyway, needless to say the place and […] this hotel is not really set up for a working trip. As a resort hotel it is probably one of the nicer ones. Close to the beach and tourist eateries. Don't expect a well appointed fitness center and amenities for business travelers there. The staff are very helpful though and its nice enough that you can make it work for work if you have to. The hotel was excellent the staff were very willing to help you when asked to do so. They could speak English and knew the area so could recommend places to go and things to see. The atmosphere was really laid back and relaxing and you felt totally unhurried at all times.

The pool is small and uninspiring but it is a rooftop terrace and what was lost in pool was made up in loungers...padded and comfy. We heard the breakfast was amazing so treated ourselves. It was almost £40 for both of us and it was nice but nothing I haven't seen before. Nice for a treat I guess but skip it if you're on a budget. One complaint. We ordered one morning toast and coffee. Cost €18 for two. The toast was ridiculous. Take a small baguette, cut 4 tiny thin slices and that was it! A mounthful at best. There was little more than ONE slice of ordinary bread there and that was for TWO peoples breakfast. I was just plain angry! The price was well steep anyway, but the portion was just an insult. I don't mind paying but I want to actually get something to eat for my money please! To be fair though this was just a small gripe in an otherwise lovely stay. I would recommend the hotel. Devamı

Excellent central location. Initially we avoided the hotel tapas bar thinking it would be typical hotel food but the tapas were fabulous and the desserts were even better! Very enjoyable stay but would recommend that they supply extra parasols on the roof terrace during July & Aug for extreme heat conditions.

Lovely hotel set in the heart of Alicante, 2 streets back from the Explanade de Espana. Very close to shops, banks, bars and restaurants and a short walk to the beach and port. Comfy rooms with plenty of storage. Open plan bathroom with the only door closing off the WC, so if you share with someone, make sure neither of are shy! Beware is you are short, […] the sink is very high, I had to stand on tip toe and if you don't have a walk in shower the bath is also very high to climb out of. Hotel high on the arty stakes but not quite as good at providing a hotel directory on how the air conditioning and window blinds work. Didn't use the spa as was quite expensive. Limited outdoor sunbathing area with a few sun beds, but fabulous views. Much cheaper to use a local cafe for breakfast. Overall, would stay here again. Devamı

Everything about this hotel was excellent. Centrally located and close to the marina, shops and ample restaurants as well as a beach. The staff were really nice and helpful and the room was beautifully clean and modern in an historic building. Breakfast was absolutely beautifully presented and great to eat. One of the 2 non-smoking rooms rooms smelled strongly of smoke. We were allocated another room not of the category we booked. Breakfast was a good choice of cold items and (we found out later) interesting hot dishes cooked to order. Staff at breakfast were friendly and efficient. We tried the tapas bar for lunch and were very disappointed with the […] slow and inattentive service. We tried the restaurant ,and were told that the only menu available was a fusion type and so not suitable for our party. We asked about other options and were told that the restaurant was closing the next day for the season and the rooftop retaurant would not be opening for some weeks. Similarly there was a problem with the pool. We obtained towels and decided to try the pool, only to discover that it was closed for maintenance for 2 days and so we would not have the chance to use it. Unfortunately, we were not told about either of these issues at the time of checking in. The charge for the car park is also very steep. Otherwise, the hotel is perfectly located for the seafront marina and beach and a short walk to the main shopping area. It is well maintained and stylishly decorated, but it falls down on customer service. To be fair, we submitted a similar report in response to the hotel's customer service email and they responded immediately with an apology and a promise to follow up issues with the hotel management. hotellet ligger bare 2 min.fra stranden,kort vei til masse resturanter og uteliv. De ansatte i resepsjonen ga oss utrolig bra service! Bestilte bla.togbiletter til oss,alltid blide og høflige. Frokosten var også meget bra! Eneste lille minus,vårt rom vendte ut mot gaten utenfor,da fant vi ut at de begynte å spyle gatene kl.06 om morgenen.. men bortsett […] fra det,hotellet kan jeg absolutt anbefale! Devamı

Das Hotel selbst ist ausgezeichnet. Aber die Preise für einige Sachen sind unverschämt. Fürs Parken in der Hotelgarage verlangt man € 29,50 pro Tag, da es keine vernünftige Alternativen gibt. Das Frühstück kostet pro Tag pro Person € 18,00, damit kann man noch leben. Flott hotell med en diskre luksusfølelse med sentral beliggenhet. Store rom med badekar i gangen og flotte glassdører forsterker en følelese av luksus. Takterassen må brukes mer, den er flott med ordentlige madrasser i solsenger med generøse handklær.Kjempefin utsikt fra denne. Vi var der i tre døgn i mars med sol hver dag var det bare 2-3 andre som […] brukte det disse dagene.En liten skuffelse var bassenget som var altfor grunt.Badstuene er små men store nok for oss to. Personalet er høflige og veldig hyggelige og hjelpsomme. Frokosten var en drøm med fint anretttet og variert mat. Her var den eneste plassen i Spania vi har fått skikkelig grovbrød.
