Portobello Hotel - Dublin

comfy roof, lovely surroundings and really really nice staff! i would stay here agin :)

The staff at the Portobello went out of their way to make sure I had every thing I needed. It's nice after a long day of work to have the restaurant and bar connected to the hotel in the event I did not want to go out side of the hotel. I had a terrible hang over from the festivities of St Patrick"s day and the maid service was very accommodating in […] letting my sleep my hang over off and did not interrupt my sleep. This is an older hotel that is fine. With that said, it could use a bit of remodeling but that was underway during my stay. This hotel is at Portobello bridge, which is a mile or so from central Dublin. However, there are at least six bus lines, usually running at 10 minute intervals (each) to and from central Dublin, so getting there by bus is quite […] easy. Consider getting the Dublin Transit Rambler card for 1, 3 or 5 days if you're not traveling by car. Devamı

Very nice hotel. Friendly staff. Room, beds, bathroom all clean. Nice atmosphere. Value for not much money. A little noisy outside, but a quieter room was available, if I had wanted. Nice setting, just beside the canal.

The room was quiet,clean and comfortable, which is all I ask. The staff were efficient and pleasant. The building had a homely character something lacking in the multinationals.

nice hotel for a budget stay. Good breakfast to set you up for the day.

Although it's quite the hike from Dublin's airport, Portobello was nice! The staff was very accommodating, friendly, and helpful. The first room I had was above the Portobello bar so it was very loud. The second room was very quiet. I recommend this hotel for anyone looking to save money and wanting easy access into the city.

The staff are extremely friendly and helpful. The breakfast is extremely filling and tasty, though if you don’t fancy something huge there are options of something on toast etc. It’s about a 15 minute walk to city centre but it’s a pleasant walk. Very pretty views out over the canal. The rooms are spacious and clean. Not too dated either. No problems […] with any noise though we did stay during the week. Unlike some reviews, we had no problems with the shower, adjusted nicely to a temperature and was powerful. Buses stop right outside the hotel. The hotel is amazing value for all that you get and I will be recommending it to everyone. Devamı

The location is ok for southside entertainment like Whelans etc but is a bit of a walk to the city centre. There are plenty of buses passing near the hotel however. The shower in my room did not produce hot water but other than that everything was in good order. This may have been a one=off.

My partner and I went to the hotel for a 4-night break. Really enjoyed it - only a couple of minor problems which were that the duvet was too thick for the time of year, the ironing board didn't fold away very easily, and it took a bit of effort to shut the window.. Other than that, we loved it! As I said, only minor! The staff were very friendly and […] helpful, the breakfasts were lovely, and the hotel itself is a short bus ride into town, with the bus stop being right outside the hotel. There's a nice pub and club at the hotel as well, if you just want a quick drink. There are some nice places nearby as well. If we went back to Dublin, we would definately stay there again. Devamı

Väldigt trivsamt hotell med trevlig och hjälpsam personal. God och generös frukost bortsett från kaffet som var riktigt äckligt (varje morgon...) Är man ljudkänslig ska man nog välja ett annat hotell då detta ligger nära ett par ganska trafikerade vägar (mycket utryckningsfordon...) och de dessutom hade en nattklubb på nedervåningen. Een niet al te groot hotel aan de rand van het centrum van Dublin. Maar toch dichtbij alle bezienswaardigheden. Prima om ergens naartoe te lopen of de Luas tram te pakken. Mooie grote kamer met bad, waterkoker met thee en koekjes en een lekker bed! 's Ochtends een heerlijk full Irish breakfast waardoor je genoeg energie om van alles te ondernemen! […] Erg vriendelijk en behulpzaam personeel. Kamer was ook iedere dag brandschoon. Et sentralt og hyggelig hotell i et fint område i Dublin. Hyggelige ansatte. Rommene stod faktisk over forventning til prisen jeg betalte for oppholdet. Det er nok ikke et hotell for fisefine personer, men for en som ønsker å bo sentralt til en billig penge er dette hotellet optimalt!

Hotellet hadde bra beliggenhet, vi kunne lett gå til sentrum og i tillegg var det bra buss service. Betjeningen var hyggelig og behjelpelig på alle måter. Puben nedenfor (med samme navn) hadde gode mat tilbud og på søndager er det ekte irsk folkemusikk. Vi befaler hotellet så absolutt til andre reisende og ville gjerne valgt samme sted igjen.

Hotellet ligger ca 20min spasertur fra Temple Bar og handlegatene i sentrum. Gaten mellom hotellet og sentrum hadde mange små bruktbutikker og det var en hyggelig spasertur. Området rundt hotellet var også fint. Hotellet hadde bar og nattklubb, men vi bodde i 3.etg og merket ikke noe støy. Frokostenvar god og servicen bra, så vi drar gjerne tilbake […] . Devamı

Bien qu'un peu mais pas trop loin du centre, on apprécie fortement le petit déjeuner servi chaque matin. Dommage que les bruits de la boîte de nuit de l'hôtel dérange un peu la tranquillité nocturne.
