The property is beautiful, in a very remote area. Meal costs seem high. $55 for a Sunday Brunch seems quite high, when normal breakfast buffet is only $7,00. Too pushy on the time share portion of the property.

We were very well looked after at the Westin .You have to be aware that the hotel is not in the midst of all the activities. It is a quiet, peaceful environment. If you want to rent a car or go on excursions , all the services are there. Also, you can walk to Oyster Pond and there are some eating areas there.Good place for a family, young children.

Great getaway for our 20 th anniversary. The view at poolside is awsome.great beaches and friendly staff. To me, the hotel and rooms need a little upgrading. Cracks in the ceilings, old caulking in room and no detail to cleanliness.....max at the ocean restaurant helped me with a private beach dining table for latenight wine and deserts which was wonderful. […] Also visited Anguilla and St. Barth, beautiful as well. The dinghey dock bar was great and the westin hooked us up with a private driver, Van Mccoy to drive us around Anguilla. Van was wonderful. verall the stay was great. Lots of memories..... Devamı

Great front desk staff. Poor restaurant staff, rude and slow or nice and slow. Nice big pool. Pretty beach. Really pretty bay. But the tides and currents made it my least favorite beach to visit. The room was ok. nice big bathroom. didn't provide shampoo or shower gel - probably just an oversight.

I went with our family for 8 days at Christmas. We loved the resort it was perfect for teens. All the younger kids around were also having a blast. The staff was so nice and help full. Dawn was an amazing concierge and every restaurant was great. Big Fish,Canoa,Yvettes all close by. On the French side it's very expensive but the Lolos are fun and the […] bakeries outstanding. The food was good at the hotel but gets old after a couple days. Stay away from the Buffet's the Christmas one was really expensive for the quality of food. We rented a boat for a day to go diving and fishing, then scuba diving another day and the butterfly farm. Most of the time we loved the pool and beach and girls day at the spa! We met other families from around the world as it attracts nice families but not the snobby type. Island people incredibly friendly and island just big enough to explore and very different in each area. Over past airport out toward the beach the sunsets and coast line were amazing. My family has traveled a lot and all of us thought this one vacation was one of the best for all my kids (14,17,19) ages. We were sad to leave! Devamı

Hotel rooms needed to be renovated. Large stains on carpets and light fixtures and towel fixtures had rusted. The outside of the hotel and the restaurants all seemed very nice. They should have umbrella stands around the pool for shade as well.

Tlhe Westin Dawn Beach met our needs for a pre and post night stay for our cruise. Our guest room and bathroom were exceedingly spacious with lovely verandas with a partial ocean view. The pool area was lovely with ample seating for all guests and a large pool for swimming. The poolside restaurant provided excellent ambiance for breakfast, lunch and […] dinner. Overall, the staff was courteous and helpful. The location, however, is quite far from the airport and marina, requiring rather expensive taxi rides. There is not an opportunity to walk to shopping or other dining choices. Given that, it was a relaxing and pleasant property for our purposes. Devamı

Stayed here two nights prior to leaving on a cruise. It was fantastic! Very comfortable bed, nice room w ocean view of St Barts, quiet neighborhood, hotel is not huge so everything was in close proximity (pool, restaurant, bar, casino). Hotel staff were accommodating and friendly. The only downside is it's a 20 minute drive from shopping, restaurants, […] etc. although found a great spot for dinner 5 minutes away at the marina. Great staff, great location, nice rooms. Restaraunt was fine, but a bit overpriced. Since the hotel is oceanfront, some of the metalic fixtures in the room were oxidized. It didn't bother us.

Very nice hotel, with nice location, with a nice beach and perfect pool. Its away from cruise crowds. On the expensive side for food and kid club enrollment. Don't forget the dreaded resort fee on top of rate. The time share salespeople were a little annoying. The room was tight for family of 4 (2 small kids). The resort was nice. The food was below average and overpriced. The resort is really remote and not close to anything. So rent a car or you will have to pay a lot of money on cabs. If you want to be closer to everything I would not stay here. On average it can take you up to an hour to get from the airport to the resort. I stayed at the Westin for a long weekend with a girl friend. Amazing resort with beautiful grounds, but there are a few things to be aware of. - There are no umbrellas/shade around the pool or at the beach. You must pay for a cabana. - The staff is friendly, but our keys didn't work the entire first day due to a technical issue. We saw this happen […] to 2 other guests as well. - The food is ok, but nothing amazing But aside those 3 things - I would still recommend the resort! The pool area is gorgeous and the overall environment is very relaxing. For any runners, I'd also recommend the 3K/5K running path recommended by the hotel that brings you to the French side of the island. Lot's of hills, but worth it - amazing views and felt very safe doing it. Will definitely return to St. Maarten soon! Devamı

My husband and I visited St. Maarten/St. Martin to celebrate my birthday. We stayed at the Westin (Dawn Beach). I highly recommend this property. The staff was friendly (I see why they call it the friendly island) and very helpful. The room was very nice (and I'm a picky person). The hotel and hotel grounds were well kept/maintained. There were lots […] of amenities and we used them (the gym, the business center, the pool, restaurant, casino). We ate at the hotel restaurant and had room service several times. The service and food was good on both fronts. Of course, the hotel prices were higher, but then again you are on an island. The hotel is a bit out of the way and best if you want a more secluded stay. Overall, I'd stay there again in a heartbeat. Devamı

What an amazing location. Swim directly off the beach to great snorkeling. Amazing hotel. Gorgeous pool and beach. Wished we had stayed at the Westin longer. We split time between Grand Case and Westin. Once we arrived, we felt like we were in paradise. Casino was a lot of fun too. Timeshare folks were annoying.

I had a fabulous stay at the Westin in ST Maarten. It was a little difficult to find, but once I located the property I was in heaven! The Westin sits on a beautiful stretch of picturesque coastline, and you can sip a fresh drink from the infinity pool and see ST Barts. Absolutely incredible views! The pool was huge and very clean. My room had an ocean […] view and was five star all the way. Extremely clean and all the ammenites one expects at a incredible resort. The bed was as they say at the Westin, truly heavenly. In the morning I enjoyed a delicious buffet breakfast, complete with waffles, french toast and omelettes, as I looked out at the beautiful ocean. The staff was very friendly and professional. This is not a hotel for young people. Not at all. Its very far from all the activities. Recommended for people who just want a quiet peaceful time without activities. To go to Phillipsburg cost $15 either way and that where anything is happening. I would recommend for young people to go to a hotel near the airport. Because thats where more is happening, […] you have quick access to the boardwalk, a beautiful beach, bars/discos and numerous restaurants. Devamı

I was extremely disappointed by my stay here and would urge people to look elsewhere. I was disappointed with hotel cleanliness, location and mostly service. The staff seems to be untrained and frankly don't care. I would urge anyone to stay elsewhere.

Overall stay ok - Bellhops great - food service workers need better attitudes - bartender needs to remember to actually put alcohol in drinks. Was told we were being upgraded to ocean front room when we actually got the ocean view room we paid for. Nice pool. Restaurants next door excellent - Big Fish, Canoa, Mr Busby's.

Great location and great pool. Housekeeping was poor. They never left enough towels, soap, or toiletries. They were also very late cleanling room everyday. Restaurant, front desk and casino staff were great though. Condo people were aggressive, but if you are firm with them and tell them no you are not interested they seem to back off. This hotel would be perfect has it not been for the fact that, we initially didnt get the rooms we booked (it took 24 hrs), our room was not cleaned after being out all day, we met one of the most discurteous bartenders ever, we ended up getting a bottle of wine every time there was a big issue (2 bottles of wine and a cheese plate). The hotel is clean, the food is average but the service is just awful. Servers at the pool, bar, resturants and casino are not at all attentive. I dont think they have figured out yet that the more they take care of their guests, majority Americans from what I could tell, the more we tip!! Im glad to say I won enough money at their casino to pay for […] everything I did while at the hotel or Id be kind of upset. The pit boss even had the nerve to tell a person that was betting heavy at the table to walk to the bar instead of calling a server over. They just dont get it!!! Oh well, atleast the pool is nice, but dont expect any service at the swim up bar. That bartender acknowledged us and then proceeded to wait 15 minutes before coming over to us to take our orders. Ample room though the carpet not so clean The Westin is a good option in St. Maarten. The beach is beautiful, service is OK, people friendly. Location no so easy to find because lack of proper signals along the roads. Even the car with GPS made to get to the hotel daunting.

Just returned from our first stay in St. Maarten - we loved the Westin - beautiful facilities, nice room, basically a private beach, located near a few fabulous restaurants in Oyster Pond (less than 5 min cab ride). We listened to a 90 min time share presentation and got 3-day car rental for free - worth it to rent a car so you can explore the island. […] It is away from the packed beaches and shopping meccas, but easy to drive to all those areas. The pool area is absolutely beautiful and overlooks the ocean. Breakfast buffet every morning was great. Helpful staff. Slight musty smell in room disappeared when we opened up our balcony doors to enjoy the ocean sights and sounds. We will stay here again. Devamı

The hotel facilities were very comfortable as expected. The staff was outstanding. Everyone was helpful and friendly beyond expectations. Conversely, the timeshare program known as the "Dawn Beach Club" has sales people and and office in the hotel. These sales people continously stalk the hallways and common areas. This is a beautiful property, but unfortunately the management of the property leaves something to be desired. The shower in our room was broken and clearly had been for some time. Overall, the staff were 'OK'. The front desk was 'fine', and the chambermaids 'OK'. The wait staff in the restaurants are excellent. One of the concierges we dealt with was […] of no help whatsoever, but the newly hired lady concierge was quite helpful when she was on duty. The doormen are good, but getting a cab can be frustrating, so plan in advance, and essentially make your own arrangements. The property is 20 minutes drive or more from most of the attractions of the island. We had been warned in advance about the aggressiveness of the staff trying to sell time-shares on this property, but did not find this ourselves. The time-share staff were friendly and not domineering. The food quality in the restaurants is above average, and not outrageously priced, though more expensive than in town. Good wine list, but unpredictable inventory. Cleanliness of the restaurants could be better. Overall you get the impression that management doesn't care to look after the small details. We booked this property because it is 4 stars, and we've always enjoyed Westin quality in other cities. This was a definite disappointment. We've had better 3 star experiences for alot less money than we had at this property. We would not go back to this property, nor would we recommend it to others. Devamı

The pros about the Westin-Dawn Beach are that the rooms were clean,updated,spacious and comfortable. The staff was very nice and helpful. We were even able to have a late check out. Beautiful location and excellent food. However the cons are the hotel is so far from the airport. Took us over an hour to get to the hotel. The hotel staff ws pretty rude. The hotel beachwas crappy too. We rented a car and drove to other beaches everyday. Additionally, the had the worst concierge in the world! He wasn't there for three days and when he was there, he was horrible...

The Westin was pleasant enough, but we referred to it as the 'nearly' hotel because they so nearly (but not quite) got things right. The location is good, and is relatively quiet for the island. You either love it or hate it. Driving to the Westin when you are first time visitors to the island is difficult, as there are literally no signs and the hotels […] own website shows the location wrongly! The roads in the area are challenging with their potholes and steep gradients. Staff at the hotel are friendly, but not all are naturals when it comes to customer service. The hotel is reasonably new, but does have that tired look in some of the corridors with peeling paint on some ceilings and stained carpets. We had tea/coffee making facilities in the room but they never replenished the tea after day 1 and stopped bringing new paper cups from day 2. If you want to enjoy a little TV at the end of your day, the Westin is not your spot. Very few channels and very fuzzy picture. Why bother with large flat screens when the signal is so poor? Food at the restaurant is good, if a little pricey for a big family, and there are a number of good restaurants around Oyster Bay, we particularly liked Canoa and Big Fish which were cheaper and provided more 'island' feel. Swimming pool is fine but small, two levels and OK pool bar; service around the pool is good, but a bit frustrating to have to hire a cabana ($57) to get any shade as there are no big sunbrellas available.
