The Heldrich Hotel - New Brunswick

Stayed one night but had a great time!

This is the second or third time I've stayed here, and I'm never disappointed. The rooms are always very clean and comfortable, and the staff is courteous. This particular time, they were swamped with some kind of conference or local event. We were lucky enough to book our rooms before they ran out. The linens are comfortable, not scratchy like in many […] other hotels. There's a fantastic restaurant downstairs, and an endless selection of other bars & restaurants within walking distance. Anytime we need a night away, or if we're heading into NYC, this is our go-to place to get a room. The train is only a few short blocks away and is a direct line into NYC or Trenton. Heldrich is our go-to hotel when attending events in New Bruswick - local theater or Rutgers events. It is convenient, friendly, comfortable - a best-value choice. The hotel offers all you need for a fun stay - great amenities, fantastic service, helpful staff and a fun bar!

Very enjoyable and the staff was very helpful. Also great location for many of the fine restaurants in the area.

This location was perfect considering it was directly accros the street from the theater we were attending a concert at. The staff was very pleasant and helpful.

Very comfortable and within walking distance of the Robert Wood Johnson Hospital and Children's Specicialized Hospital. Much nicer than the Hyatt that also is within walking distance of the hospital and costs about the same.

The stafff, particularly Jack the Bellman/shuttle driver, were very helpful, courteous, and friendly!

My father was at the hospital there and the Heldrich was the perfect home away from home. Everything was very comfortable. It was very convenient. And the bar was very nice at the end of the day to settle down a bit. Wish I had time to check out the spa

Good stay altho' it was just for 1 night. Rooms were clean, easy check out. Poor parking (only valet) and movie fee pricey...$12 for a movie rental. Other than that, good & chic hotel.

I've stayed here multiple times and have yet to have a bad experience. The staff is always friendly, the location is pretty ideal and the beds are pretty comfortable. Now, usually I'm with low maintenance people- we don't often have special requests, need extra bedding/cots/pillows/etc. Since I've never really NEEDED the hotel to provide any extras, […] I can't personally speak to how cooperative or speedy they might be... but I've heard good things! I really love staying here whenever my friends and I will be going into NYC (especially when we will be drinking). It's very close to the train station and the neighborhood is very safe. Overall, this has been yet another great experience. I would absolutely stay here again and would, without a doubt, recommend it to friends. Devamı

The location is the best thing going for it. It is right in the heart of Rutgers near the College Ave. Campus, and adjacent to Johnson&Johnson if you are visiting that business. The hotel touts its history and its art collection. Frankly, I can go to museums for the art and I don't need to subsidize their collection just to spend the night. There was […] a Sweet 16 and a Bar Mitzvah the night I stayed, so the services were under a bit of a strain. The shuttle bus is a nice feature. You have to request it at the front desk--I didn't see it mentioned in the Hotel.com service descriptions. I had a free ride to the train station and one to my daughter's off-campus house so that was convenient. Since cabs don't sit on station at the hotel, this is a plus. My room, and the hotel overall, was a bit worn and scuffed. Needs overall maintenance. The worst part of the experience was the fire alarm rang at midnight and again at 7:00 AM; it was defective but we had to evacuated in our pajamas in 10 degree wind chills. The staff didn't apologize, nor did they seem to know what to do. Training anyone?????? Devamı

It was a great stay, there were just a few things that were not wonderful. The fact that we had to pay for parking in a lot and walk to the hotel because it was valet only and very expensive. Also the pool was not heated which was a disapointment when we stuck our feet in.

My boyfriend and I stay at least once a year every year and have been doing so for at least three years, and the last time we stayed, right around New Year's Eve, we attempted to order room service for breakfast the next day (the 31st). So standard protocol is leaving the door tag with the order... on the door. We checked in between 5-7, decided we […] wanted breakfast the next morning and put the tag on the door shortly after arrival. I noticed when we first got to our room, someone down the hallway had ordered room service and their tray was still outside the door. Fast forward to 8:30AM the next morning, the door tag is still on our door (so no, we don't have breakfast), and the room down the hall with the tray still has their tray outside their door. Devamı

I stay 4 days three of them, there were no ice in the vending room, they didn't clean that room also.

Very nice hotel with friendly staff. However, I was surprised that at this price the room wasn't in better condition. The TV was old (I expected a flat screen), the paint was peeling above the shower, the cold/hot plate on the shower handle was missing, and the drain stopper and plunger were not attached in the bathroom sink. Convenient, clean, friendly with a definite modern "flair", the Heldrich hangs recent, original art in the lobby and public areas that give it an artsy, modern ambience. The neighborhood is walkable - it's right across the street from a regional playhouse. The front entrance and the architecture made me feel as if I were in D.C. It's a great alternative […] to a skyscraper like the Hyatt or the Hilton or any of the other hotels along Route 1 where you become a virtual prisoner because there is nowhere to walk. The restaurant has a wonderful breakfast buffet with lots of very nice choices (I'm impressed when a restaurant puts out blackberries, raspberries and blueberries in their breakfast buffet along with the bacon and very good scrambled eggs). The bar is large, comfortable and the drinks are generous and well-mixed. The spa, gym and pool reflect tranquility and quiet- a truly delightful space. The room was nicely decorated with a relaxing color scheme, good sheets and generous pillows. Only one complaint - the wallpaper was peeling away from the air vent on the bathroom wall and the paint on the bathroom door was also peeling away. In another month, the bathroom will look shabby if this is not taken care of immediately. But the bathroom was nicely decorated. The towels were fluffy and big and it was very, very clean. Oh, and the price is very reasonable. I highly recommend the Heldrich and I would definitley go back there again on my next visit to the New Brunswick area. Devamı

The hotel was in an incredible location, and had very nice rooms. The only thing we didn't like was that parking was $15/day, which I guess is probably the going rate for a great location like that. Also, the parking garage is across the street from the hotel (otherwise you can get valet, not sure how much more expensive it was)

Being on a busy schedule it was a reward and a relief to find a hotel that makes sure the guest expectations are met, but alertly anticpates what they may need during their stay. All staff was amiable and willing to give sound advice on many places to visit, dine and relax. Looking forward to coming back for personal time to enjoy the surroundings and […] the tremendous offerings that metropolitan area has to offer. hotels.com overbooked me into this hotel and the only room they had for me was a "parlor room" which is like cocktail suite with pullout couch. the did refund my $$ but it is not what I expected when I booked.

Convenient, clean, great location, horrible service! If all you need is a nice, clean place to sleep, the hotel is more than sufficient. If you want to be able to enjoy a meal or drink there, forget it. I would stay there, but I would never eat there or have a drink in the bar there.The staff stands around talking to each other & looks right through […] you. They get to you when they feel like it. It is close to the train station, so if that is important, stay there. If not, look somewhere else! Devamı

My second time at this hotel. It's very convenient to stay at. Self parking is cheaper/better option. 24hrs 7-Eleven near by. Street parking is free after 4 pm. Close to many restaurants, coffee shops as it's located around the Rutger's student residences. Extremely clean and professional hotel. They need to get new TVs in the rooms.

This hotel proved to be a great choice for our family. Very clean, and the staff very helpful.

Is rated 4 stars. Must be the spa. Staff is courteous, but not friendly. It's close to amenities/restaurants which is a good thing because they don't stock their hotel mini store and their restaurant is pricy. Parking is extra. For some reason, almost every room has peeling paint on the bathroom ceiling. (have stayed there several times in the last […] couple years and this is consistent in every room). Towels are thin and very few placed in the rooms. For the price, there are other local hotels with much better amenities and service. Devamı

Good. Only thing was it took them a long time to get new towels to workout area, and they had an attitude about it.
