Movenpick is one of only two beachside hotels in Karon worth staying at, with the other being the much more expensive Hilton. The facilities are great with many restaurants to chose from which we found to be much better than the nearby local food which was of poor quality for a mostly Russian clientele. This resort is close to the action of Phuket island without the irritation of rowdy tourists and the hustle bustle of a popular destination. Totally loved it and planning our next stay. Service from hotel staff was prompt and always courteous. Even the fitness centre was well equipped and serviced well.

The villa with plunge pool out from our own verandah was sensational and very private. Large bedroom and bathroom with the deepest, longest marble bath ever seen. Location of Movenpick very good for shopping (next door has a huge gallery of stalls) and better than Karon beach. Great resort. Good location. Stayed in garden villa after checking into standard room well worth the extra cost. Totally different experience being in the gardens as to staying in the standard room which was small and noisy.

What a fantastic hotel! From the minute we arrived to the minute we left we experinced exceptional service. They even delivered a cake to the room on my husband's birthday with no prompting from me! The sand bar was a fantastic place to relax - especially during happy hour!

We had an initial incident with check-in where we were left to wait for 2 hours. The reception staff did however offer us a free upgrade in order to rectify the inconvenience. The hotel grounds and gardens are large and well kept. There are 3 swimming pools and a dive center attached to the one closest to the beach entrance. The main pool closest to […] reception has a swim up bar with kids area and slide, kiddies looked like they were having a ball, however not really for couples looking for a bit of a quieter setting which is a shame as it would have been nice to have made use of the pool bar. The 3rd pool offered a more relaxing experience and still came with food and drink service. The room was great, however we found it to be a little "tired". Cracks in the walls and peeling paint. The bath never really enticed us as the room had a bit of this old/used feeling and appearance. We had a plunge pool out front and outdoor shower which was great to cool off under. The breakfast offered a good range of variety and a pleasant setting next to the main pool. As the hotel is rather large with many guests, the pacifica (breakfast restaurant) was busy and produced food in bulk. The quality of food was average as a result. Other restaurants within the hotel were expensive and we chose to step outside the grounds of the hotel for all other meals. The price of the hotel's spa treatments were also exorbitant but again there are plenty of massage parlours just 100m outside the hotel. Devamı

Movenpick has a certain 'older' style about it's hotel and bungalows. That being said it has been very well maintained. The main hotel tower where we stayed in a Deluxe Ocean View room had a view of the sea, albeit from 300-400m back with the sand being obstructed by trees. This was not my first visit to Phuket but that was my first stay at the Mövenpick resort. The resort is huge with a lot of facilities including 4 swimimng pools and offering many types of rooms type. Since we are a family of 4 we choosed the 2 bedroom residence. Very nice, clean and comfortable room, infact we felt at home. Be careful when booking this hotel via expedia. They do not guarantee the type of bed you will have in your room. We are a couple and we had to sleep in twin beds, when we requested a double bed. We found a small cockroach in our bathroom when we arrived, really surprising for this type of resort. We were thrilled to be upgraded to a garden villa at check in. Staff were friendly and helpful. The hotel is extremely well maintained and the grounds are green and gorgeous. I highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a quieter Phuket experience, but still wanting to be close to local attractions.

Beautiful setting on Karon Beach and lived our penthouse room with rooftop plunge pool. Unfortunately not enough staff or poolside chairs to fully cater for the number of guests.

Overall the hotel was nice. The rooms are starting to get a bit tired (we were in an Ocean view room), I think it's the use of the dark wood, however, they were well maintained, clean and comfortable. The staff were friendly, however […] the front desk staff and concierge should have a little more local knowledge about activities in Karon Beach such as the days the Temple markets run and recommendations for restuarants, tailors etc. The resort was good for young kids, they loved the slide in the main pool! the banglog is amaizing with wide space for your soul to relief. it is cold looking, creamy colored decoration with wide spaces it has a small swiming pool upsatires that gives you a nice privecy

We were staying at the hotel in the tsunami and the hotel had no emergency evacuation plan, no sirens which is unacceptable. The warning system was basically staff telling people. We stayed in a basic room, it was out dated, dark, small and very noisy. Speaking to other people who stayed in the villas, I would recommend paying the extra for a better […] room. The stay was outstanding! This was our 2nd time staying at the Karon Movenpick. We are already planning a 3rd visit in December. The residence room was defiantly worth the price and we will utilize again. The only issue we had was that the A/C went out in the master bedroom and the level of maid service could be a tad bit better - it seemed as if the […] floors, table top and counters were always cleaned in a hurry. Had a wonderful time at the Movenpick, Karon Beach. Beautiful hotel and grounds and plenty of things to keep 4 kids amused. Only weakness would be the Kids Club - the furnishings appeared a little tired and dated - only used it once for a short period. Would highly recommend this hotel.

This hotel is definitely the best hotel in the Karon Beach area of Phuket. It looks great - fresh and clean and traditional Thai style, and it kept very tidy. We loved every minute of our stay here. PattongBeach is about 20 mins away in a tuk-tuk. For the better restaurants in Karon, come out of the beach exit of the hotel and turn left or right, The beach area has better quality restaurants and is quieter/better atmosphere too. Traveled to Phuket with a group of friends some singles and couples and we all shared a great time at the Movenpick Resort, from the first moments walking in to the Lobby reception we new that we had chosen the right spot. Beautiful grounds mixed with the perfect beach location with access to food, shopping and water sports made this resort unbeatable […] in my opinion. The staff were very friendly, pleasant and helpful. No problems what so ever with check-in and check-out, we even asked for a late check-out and that was accomodated. The facilities in this resort were great, there are lovely pool areas, variety of resturants, indoor kids' play areas (for the different age groups). Villa rooms are a good size. (we had 2 adults and 2 small children in ours and it was OK). The grounds are quite lovely and comfortable. Our kids loved the pool and waterslide. It's not at all glamorous and chic but comfortable and functional. Good beach out the back. The hotel charging for Wi-fi doesn't seem appropriate given what other hotels do. […] Breakfast was good. The pictures of the hotel do not correspond to the reality!!! The resort is really old (more than 20 years old), all the villas are very used and dirty, all ground floor villas have very specific "old" smell. Penthouse villas are better. Plunge pool is impossible to use because of big quantity of chlorine which is used to disinfect it. We have seen […] 5 villas before choosing the villa to stay!!! The beach is not private, you have to leave the resort and cross over a street to arrive to the beach, where you have to pay for the beach chairs and umbrellas. The gym is too small and old as well. The breakfast is ok. It takes about 10 min to go to Patong by tuk-tuk. The wi-fi internet doesn't work almost every day! The staff is very bad educated, they demonstrate a bad knowledge of English and the indifference to the customer's needs!!!!! Devamı

Infrastructure - rooms, lobby, grounds, pool - is 5-star, but service is 3-3.5 star. Given that, the US $300-odd that we paid per room per night was not especially good value for money. (Although we did travel during peak New Year's season.) Positives: 3 pools. Main pool is fantastic. Big, deep in parts, shallow in others. Swim-up bar decent-sized, […] although getting a bit old. Big lobby - airy and grand. I stayed in an ocean-view room, in the main building, which was standard-issue 5-star. Not extravagant, but perfectly adequate for such a property. (The rooms are aging and will need renovation soon.) Note, rooms in the main building (least expensive ones) are a 5-7 minute walk to the beach. Some subset of villas are much closer. Negatives: Service left something to be desired. The general impression we got was that the staff wanted to be done with whatever conversation they were having with us as soon as they could, so they could attend to presumably more important things. The vaunted friendliness of Thailand was missing, but unfortunately, it was not replaced with Western efficiency either. Language was an issue - one expects a European 5-star resort to have staff that speak adequate English, but this was not always the case, and resulted in one instance of particularly bad service. I think it is fair to say that the hotel is 4 star at best, not 4.5 stars. The staff were very welcoming and tried to be helpful were they could be. The room was nice enough - the beds were comfortable. However, even with an upgraded room, the view was not spectacular. That's the only really specific gripe I could say. The prices really are absurd for Thailand. The hotel capitalises too much on tourists and the food, spa, airport transfers and tours feel extortionate! The hotel is family friendly but for that reason, the pool is not a peaceful place to relax and read a book. For our relaxing holiday vacation, we ended up booking a room at the Mövenpick Resort & Spa Karon Beach Phuket. Not at all disappointed with our choice. Hotel facilities were excellent, such as the three swimming pools, our spacious Plunge Pool Villa and the good variety of food at the three in-house restaurants. However, the in-room entertainment could […] have been much better and at a 5-star resort, free. Staff very friendly as always, but a late check out only available until 2pm for free. The business center was free for use within the opening hours, even after checkout. Considering the resort is a four and a half to a five star rate, it is not delivering the quality nor the service that it should be. A Penthouse Pool room that I reserved was a disappointment as I expected the pool to be a pool and not a bath! and I also expected the room floor to be clean and the furnishings to be dust and ant free.

The amenity and facility of the hotel room were very ordinary. The TV did not work properly and there were too many kids around. When I asked the hotel staff to book a taxi to the airport, it was firstly quoted 1500 baht and then after I complainted, it was brought down to 1200 baht. The hotel is fantastic and we'd stay there again. Probably the best hotel we saw in Karon Beach. I'll concentrate on the negatives here because I could go on for ages about the positives: (1) Internet - should be free but they charge $100 / week unless you want to queue in their library (2) Food and drink is pricey in the hotel. Breakfast is excellent […] but expensive unless it's included in your package. Check this on arrival because with us, it was included but we didn't know and ate breakfast elsewhere on all but three days! Good local restaurants are Sandwish for breakfast (tuen left at hotel front, past market to Old Phuket resort, Bamboo (on the back road), Red Onion (very popular), Two Chefs (pricey but excellent), Itlalian place near Two Chefs. First of all the Hotel's location was good considering that i was travelling with a family with small kids. Karon Beach is not the liveliest of all beaches but enough for my liking. The hotel was nice but not spectacular; the lobby was no where close to attractive ( I have seen better lobbies in cheaper hotels). Could not fault the hotel for service and friendliness of staff - whether front desk, restaurant or housekeeping . Well -appointed comfortable rooms with a huge choice of room-type available to suit almost everyone. Movenpick is a great family friendly resort. We stayed at the Residences and enjoyed apartment living with a full view of Karon Beach from most rooms. It was ample room for the four of us. We spent most of our time enjoying lazy afternoons by the main pool. The buffet breakfast catered to many cuisines - continental, american, swiss, asian, great quality […] and service. My only complaint was service we received on our last afternoon, when we had booked their "change room" from 5pm to 6pm to shower before our flight. Whoever had the room before us, took an additional half hour which meant we had to spend over 40 minutes waiting in our bathers at reception for these other guests to finish. When we finally got the room, the four of us had only 1/2 an hour to organise ourselves for the flight back home. With a six year old and a four year old, it beacame quite challenging. A complimentary drink while we we were waiting would have been most welcome! Overall a lovely resort to escape reality for a short time. Devamı
