Midtown Inn Miami Hotel - Miami

The hotel is at a great location to get to miami beach, north beach and south beach quickly but the hotel itself is filthy. The staff is unfriendly. There was graffiti on the outside wall of our room. The only reason I gave 3 stars was for the location. I am hardly ever in my hotel as I am exploring the city and on the beach so was only there at night […] to sleep. Steer clear...food wrappers, and unknown liquid in styro cup on room entrance. Mold on shower curtain. Towels made of 3M sandpaper. Road noise all night. Was told not to walk outside to the restaurants because the neighborhood was "developing"

There were no elevators available to take me upstairs with my 50 pound suitcase, the non-smoking room that I requested smelled like someone had just been smoking in it, I could smell marijuana being smoked by others around, and the continental breakfast was a total disaster.

It was terrible. Even though the booking included transportation from the airport, I was told to get a taxi by the OWNER! I had emailed and called ahead w/ my flight information, and still had the pay the $26.00 plus tip to get to this dump. The place is decent enough, although a bit shabby. Smell of cigarette smoke in non-smoking room. AC, fridge and microwave works. Pillows are really flat. My husband and I stayed the night here before leaving on a cruise the next morning. Room was nice & clean, surrounding neighborhood was ok (there is a nice outdoor shopping mall nearby) & the shuttle to & from the cruise port was nice. The negatives were that they didn't have our shuttle reservation when we first checked in, had to speak to the manager […] the next morning & she straightened that out, but I was told through Hotels.com that the parking was free while we were away on the cruise & the hotel says it's not. They only charge $7/day though which is way less than what the cruise port will charge you. We didn't eat their breakfast buffet either, just wasn't our style. Average size room with a fridge, tv, good cable, free wifi, parking and breakfast - all in all an amazing value for the money paid. The hotel was not the way it was advertised online. However,It was close to major facilities, it was located in downtown Miami, the staff were friendly and caring. The price was reasonable. I would recommend this hotel to someone for a night or 2. Especially if Miami is not the final destinnation for them. I would not recommend it for a long stay

To start with the age of this hotel tells a story. It is one of the oldest hotels in the Miami area. It was easy to get to from the interstate that runs about a block away from it. If there were a reality […] show dealing with Hotel Makeovers, I would definitely sign this hotel up for one. The electrical outlets are so old that anything plugged into to them would fall out. The table lamps would come on by themselves from the vibrations from the traffic passing by. The decor could stand to be updated, fresh paint and wall pictures. And the 32" television should have had a remote control with it. Overall, I would rate this hotel with a high end 8.5 because it was close to my business appts., it was clean, and there was no loud noise from any of the other guests during my 3 night stay. Devamı

Never stayed in Miami before, but, thought the price was high for what we got. Could be that is standard for the area. When reserving, we received two bits of wrong info. Double check any questions. The desk clerk was very friendly and helpful. Fast food restaurants across the street.

The motel room was not clean. The floors were dirty. I was told there were truck parking on the premisses and there were not. The room was not worth the money I paid. The manager needs to get with the cleaning staff and tell them what there job is. If they can't clean a room they need to get fired.

We wanted a cheap hotel room for one night before a cruise, and we got what we paid for. The bed was comfortable, but there was no remote for the TV, no alarm clock or clock of any kind, and the bathroom had hair everywhere. The people at the front desk were overall quite helpful, but there was an obvious lack of communication between shifts. If you […] are booking transportation to the airport or cruise terminal, it would be best to double or triple check at the desk to make sure you are really booked. The 'breakfast' consisted of two kinds of cereal, a half gallon of milk, and an empty coffee pot. Fortunately, there is a Denny's a block up the street. shuttle service is mentioned in the description, and we contacted the hotel and made appointment for the shuttle service a week before arrvial. The Midtown Inn is an older motel, struggling to keep up with maintenance: new outside paint, newer carpeting, working air conditioners, but seriously worn-out furnishings, t.v. sets, and linens. The lack of elevators made things tough when carrying heavy suitcases to the second floor. The beds were comfortable. Soda machines and dryers were broken. […] Breakfast was just juice and a pastry. The lobby staff were always pleasant and helpful. A bus stop is near the hotel. A bus ride cost only two bucks (as of October 2011); the bus was a great way to get to the more attractive end of Biscayne Blvd. We really liked Bayside Market, 30 blocks away. We were pleasantly surprised by the presence of police at that end of Biscayne Blvd. (near the Freedom Tower). Families could be seen walking at night with small children. It was very safe. Shuttles between the airport and the port authority could have cost us $60 (as of October 2011), but this was included in the full overnight price of the Midtown Inn, a significant perk to this small motel, in need of TLC. I selected this hotel based on the reviews and its "location" at bayside, but it was not near any attraction. We stayed the bare minimun, just not to lose our prepaid reservation. Not a bad service, but it is a motel in a very busy (and loudy) street. Clean and basic.

My family and I had the displeasure of staying at the Midtown Inn on July 9th 2011 and 10th. The ad responsible for persuading us to make a reservation showed a modern, plush and comfortable Inn. I must say that I felt betrayed and misled by that Midtown ad when we finally found and checked into the Midtown Inn. Looking back, I guess the first clue […] was our difficulty in even finding the Inn. After driving around we stopped and called finally getting somewhat directions to it. What a shock it was when we (my family) checked into what appeared to be a modern, cozy Inn on the outside only to be dismayed by its interior. The outside may have looked great. However, we didn’t live on the outside. When we entered our room, it was small, smelly, dirty and nasty looking. The ill stocked sink area looked unsanitary with missing nozzle caps on the hot and cold handles revealing a white, gelatinous, pasty film forming down in the exposed areas. The bathroom was not much better. It had moldy tiles in the corners and around the soap holder, and a dusty, hairy intake air vent (which looked like it had never, ever been cleaned). We used tissue to turn the water on and off at the sink and didn’t take a shower despite a 13 hour drive to get to this Inn. In addition to all of this, the room smelled almost as if someone urinated in there and then tried to cover it up, which is not the same thing as cleaning it up. Only a few fast food places around. Surrounded by shut down shops. This hotel is not MIDTOWN by any means. The internet can only be connected with any service near the front office. There it is great. There is a bus stop close by to take you to down town shops. The hand rail going up to the second floor need either replacing or painting NOW. The Midtown Hotel was an average hotel for those people who don't want to spend a lot of money. The most annoying part of our stay was the lack of customer service given to us. The two employees we dealt with seemed more concerned about talking on the phone and making us wait until their conversation was done. We had also chosen the air/cruise package […] and it's a good thing I called them about transportation from the airport. I was suppose to let them know two days prior what our arrival time was. I informed the desk person that we were never told this and I had actually emailed the hotel without ever receiving any response. His comment was "it figures, the manager doesn't answer emails".Additionally, the pool was dirty and the response was the pool maintenance person had the weekends off-well wouldn't you think most people would like to take a swim on the weekend?
