America's Best Inn - Fort Lauderdale Airport - Fort Lauderale

This was not what we expected for am Americas Best Value-it's an old motel in an industrial area-tho close to the airport (if you don't get lost like we did). They have tried to update it, but sould stand more work. The manager was very hospitatible and helpfull-we were late for happy hour & he coridally poured us a glass of wine.

Not at all luxury, but for that cheap a rate, what else do you expect. Room was fine, shower was disgusting. I was only there for one night (six hours to be exact) so just did not take a shower and was fine. Would not stay here for any more than 1 night, but perfect for a cheap night 5 min from the airport

I stayed here with my wife and two children as an overnight before leaving on a Cruise. The room was just what we needed; clean, comfortable, quiet and just perfect (including wifi). Everyone at the hotel was absolutely friendly, helpful and when we needed extra help with luggage issues and taxis, the staff went above and beyond to make sure our vacation […] was a success. I had a last minute need/desire to stay in FLL for one more night. Knowing it's spring break ,Easter Weekend not to mention I'm unemployed so finding something I could afford was challenging. I read the reviews for the hotel and thought to myself that they must have employees write positive reviews for them. Regarless they had availability and it was […] only one night so I would survive. I pulled up and cringed when I saw the place. I was greeted by the most awesome rep who was friendly, energetic, gave me directions etc. I went to my room and was delighted by the cleanliness and comfort of a newly updated room. The hotel was built in the 30's so there is only so much one can do as far as structure but honestly they have done everything and some to make this little place a home away from home. I'm trying to move to the area and got to know the Employees... I will refer there business to all I can and hopefully get to meet up with the wonderful people if and when I return to the area. Keep them in mind when looking for convenience, affordability and service. I don't think you'll be disappointed. P.S. They have a little happy hour and free breakfast....you'll laugh when you see how they make do it but cold beers at night and breakfast on the run.. it works thhe same as the fancy places you'd see! This is a great hotel to stay at in Lauderdale. This hotel is truly a rare find. The owners have gone to great lengths to individually decorate each room and it's clear that they care about their business. i also enjoy the complementary glass of wine when i check in :)

Some of the bathroom fixtures were rusted. The curtains and shades did a poor job of keeping out the courtyard light; but the brightness of the courtyard enhanced the feeling of safety. Also, the hotel is a short block away from the Broward County Bus Line that runs right into the Fort Lauderdale Airport. That way, I saved some money on cabs.

Aside from being close to FLL and having friendly front desk clerks, this hotel has absolutely NO redeeming qualities: - scary looking neighborhood - disgusting washroom with rusted bathtub and running water that couldn't be shut off - cigarette burn holes in the sheets - blinds that let in tons of light If this is truly "Americas Best Inn", then […] I would hate to see the rest of them ... I'm a business owner and I travel a LOT. I had an early flight out of lauderdale and this was the best priced place around. I was expecting a normal experience (ie. mildly disappointing)... instead i found myself in an adorable, recently-renovated, American-owned motel that had unique decor touches that i haven't seen in a place like this in ages. It […] was absolutely evident that the owner CARED and TOOK PRIDE in their business. Not fancy, but very clean.The beds were super comfy. The owners are the nicest people. We booked this hotel for the night prior to leaving on a cruise and were very pleased. Although the hotel is older, it is quaint and met our needs for a one night stay. Staff were very pleasant and accommodating. Happy Hour meant that we could meet some fellow travelers and adequate continental breakfast is also included. Neighbourhood is mainly commercial/industrial […] but we felt safe. Several options for eating close by. A short drive from the airport and to the ship terminals and shuttle (nominal cost) stopped by for pick-up to cruise terminal. We found to be a good motel for us close for Cruise ships and has a deal for car parking . Like a family atmosthere

Oftentimes the best things will come in small packages. This unassuming motel next to the port/airport was just such a jewel to discover. The room was large enough and the ownwer/manager could not have been more accomodating. Highly enjoyed!!!

I stayed there very recently. This is not a Hotel; It's a really old Motel. Even the Red MOTEL Sign is broken. I got in APPORX. at 12:00 A.M. and the credit card was charged already so I didn't have to many choices at that time. The springs on the bed of the room I was assigned were in bad shape. For $$ /night, very small, cramped room. Not sure how any one over 200lb would ever fit in the bathroom. Was not there much, but it was close to the airport for the late arrival, and the cold beer was great for the forever flying day to be over. Would love to compare cost and amenities of other places close by.

I.booked this room for my mom who was returning from a cruise. Online the room looked nice when she arrive different story. This place is conviently near airport but has proven cheaper isn't always better I wish their was way I could get my money back. Called hotel to complain no one return my call.

Drove by twice wondering if I was even on the right road before realizing I'd been passing the motel. The manager was very nice; yet, this property has seen better days. Now very tired and run down.

Small place, eleven rooms, but top quality hospitality. These folks actually sponsor a daily happy hour from 5-7PM. Unheard of! It was a highlight of my trip. I'd stay there again definitely.

6th time me and wife stayed their. 5 minutes to the airport(ft lauderdale-hollywood intl airport) owner and staff real accommondating and friendly. they have happy hour for the guest at 4pm. you must stay there and most important very good rates for the area. Tom and Diane

Older property. Clean and some nice touches by the proprieter. He is trying to make it comfortable and inviting. It is not the best I have ever stayed in and by far not the worst. I am frequently in that area and WILL stay there again. Kudos to sole prioritized making small business work!!

The place is economical, the staff is friendly and helpful, and the management appears to be trying. But I would give this place two stars rather than three. My room smelled of paint, the phone didn't work, and the faucet dripped rather persistently.

i stayed 4 nights. "art deco charm" ... painting tile doesn't fix it, you have to fix tile for real and clean the grout. shower didn't drain fast enough to avoid an inch of water over your feet, shoddy plaster patches in restroom, sink doesn't turn off unless you really wrench on the nob, then it still drips, an exhaust fan might stop the paint from […] peeling and molding. comfy bed, strange decor (culture club album cover framed on the wall actually was kinda cool but still strange) The closet was all moldy and had a towel on the ground to catch water leaking in from the shower, Could have been made into a cool/funky room with a little investment but just had the 3rd world funky thing going on, and a large cockroach visited but this is south florida so not really a big deal. I was warmly greeted by the staff (who is also the owner of the place). I found room to be clean and quiet. I loved my stay here.

This motel is a little hard to find at night, and looks a little scary from the outside and the surrounding neighborhood. However, inside the room was clean,comfortable and much higher quality than the price would suggest. The owner was very pleasant and had obviously done a lot of renovations and upgrades. First room had extreme water damage and a horrible odor. After the first night changed rooms and everything was alright. Great location conveniently located. No nearby restaurants unfortunately. Horrible neighborhood.

The hotel personnel are courteous, friendly and they give you a beer or soft drink at check in. The downside is that the hotel room maintenance is poor and the rooms are in need of rugs and a thorough cleaning. Room cleanliness suffers.

A crummy place. Ants in room. Dirty duvet. Dirty, threadbare carpet. Walls need painting.

For a Business Man or a Man staying alone that wants to be less than 1 mile from the Airport it is perfect. The Staff couldn't be any nicer or professional. When you pull up the hotel is surrounded by a Industrial Setting. This hotel doesn't have a sign. I wouldn't take my wife or family here but as much as I travel there is not much that I have not […] experienced. It is clean, everything worked in the room. The Desk Clerks were funny, they said don't judge us by our outside cover, you will like us inside. It really is nothing to fear, nobody on the streets, plenty of places to eat close by. If price is your only consideration... ok. Otherwise I'd strongly suggest one of the other airport hotels. There is no shuttle so expect a 10 to 15 dollar cab ride. The hotel is in a shady area. The rooms are way below average. Carpeting is worn, shower was rusted and stained, etc. But it was inexpensive, so there's that.

It's very comfortable , but i wish more equipment shall be added , more food to eat .

America's Best Inn-Ft Lauderdale - it's a bit off the beaten track, & slightly hard to find. It's a basic motel room, very close to the airport. This is a small, almost retro motel but really cozy. the people in the office were great. My sister and i stayed in the unit with a separate kitchenette and it was perfect for us. the only negative was that the bathroom was very small for two women to share, but we would definitely stay here again.

It was only one night, but it was excellent. I am a vegetarian, and the office was stocked with lots of fruits, and the fruits were at my disposal.

This hotel offered a great value and very good and responsive customer service.

The hotel was close to the airport and we were going on a cruise the next day so we stayed here to save on cab fair and hotel. the hotel is far from everything and in an industrial district. there are two places to eat that you have to walk to and are about a mile maybe 1 and 1/2. the service at lesters is terrible and the food is very expensive and […] almost unedible. go for a 100 dollar room in downtown fort lauderdale or just pay the cab at first and stay in miami, which is nice. Spent one night at this location and there were some good and bad. So here it is; Good 1.Internet service 2.Easy access to the airport as well as the major Hway 3.Pool 4. Room was cool (ac) when I got there. 5. We stayed here for a short night before an early flight from FLL. It was a small room, but clean and comfortable--this is not a luxury hotel, but the service is good and it's really close to the airport. About 15 minutes walking from food, so it's probably best to have a car.

If you just need a bed to sleep for the night before a cruise, this is the place. Extremely convenient to both FLL and Port Everglades. Staff very friendly and helpful!

When you think of hotels.com you think of high standards but this hotel is way below the standards of a rat. I have stayed in nice reasonable price hotels before but i wouldn't pay a dollar to have this experience over again. The price i paid i could have gotten a full tank of gas and slept in my car. To begin with my wife and I had reservations for […] the Marriott for the next two days and we arrived early so we needed a room for the night we called hotels.com to get a hotel cause of our 13 hr drive to go on a cruise. After making the reservations we tried to locate the hotel but could not because it was so small with no sign outside. After calling the hotel the manager guided us there and it had a small sign in the window. He stated that he was upgrading us to the suite because of the other rooms. When entered into the door the smell was horrible and indescribable. There where yellow stains on the white sheets and white stains on the black futon along with black carpet stains. The shower had an open bar of soap on the shower floor. There was a lot of drug activity and intimate encounter transactions going on. The neighborhood was too scary to get out of the car but trusted because of hotels.com. The manager refused to see the room and stated that there was nothing he could do that we had to contact hotels.com cause they are the ones who took our credit card information. We didn't even go back into the room we gave him the keys and left the hotel immediately. We then called the Marriott and explained to them what happened and because we had next day reservations and they wanted our anniversary experience to be a good one they gave us a deal for 20.00 more than what we paid for at this so called hotel. I will leave the customer service experience with hotels.com up to you because all this happened within an hour of making reservations and someone else profited from this experience and wasn't us. The worst bed I've slept on in years. Owner was gracious but said he had had no complaints. Told him he should spend one night on it himself. Then defend it.

Looking for an inexpensive hotel near airport just for night before flying home. It was very near airport. I was looking for no frills and this was it. Only problem- the bathroom was filthy! Didn't want to step on the carpet without shoes! I don't mind no frills but I expect clean.

The motel was extremely small and dirty. The person running the front counter appeared to be asleep on our arrival because he didn't answer the door or phone. He offered us a free drink upon check in (which I gladly took). The bed was extremely comfortable after I stopped thinking about how gross the room was.
