This hotel is very close to the Cathedral and is right in the center of Barcelona. The hotel is within easy walking distance of almost everything. There are many restaurants and great shopping in the immediate area, including La Rambla and the Paseo de Gracia. Several Gaudi buildings are within walking distance. A friend and I were there for three nights in March, and overall this hotel was a total find. If you get a room facing the side street, it's really quiet, and you are steps away from the Cathedral in the old town. So it's a great spot for exploring that district. The rooftop pool is a very good size, you could certainly have a decent swim in it. The […] staff were all very nice and friendly, and happy to help, including with restaurant bookings and giving directions. My friend left her wrap in the lounge after she had checked out, and they found it so that I was able to pick it up...I was staying on a few extra days at the Hotel Pulitzer, which was also nice but honestly I would have been just as happy to stay here for my whole trip! Our only complaint we had about the room was the temperature, we found it quite warm and when we asked about it were told that the manager had all the rooms set to heating because of the time of year, and only the manager could change it. They said they would ask about changing it. This was in the morning, and when we returned in the early evening nothing had been done. We had to go back and ask again to get the desk staff to ask the manager's permission to change our setting. That whole process was not satisfactory (a) why can we control the heating/air in our room ourself, and (b) why did we have to follow up to get things sorted the way we want? Very good hotel in ideal location, did not eat breakfast there as it was too expensive but this did not matter as there were plenty of cafes nearby.

We stayed in Barcelona for a full week, at three different hotels. We liked this hotel, but it was overshadowed by the Hotel Ohla, which was spectacular. The Barcelona Catedral seemed "nit-picky" by charging extra for just about everything, including the instant coffee packets in the room. Room was clean, but bed was old and worn. Great location very near Cathedral, but off the noisy square. Rooms are large and comfy, staff is great. But...10 euro a day for lousy internet connection is pricey, as is the breakfast at 18.50 euros. This hotel is perfectly located in the Cathedral plaza which has many places to meet with friends and enjoy a glass of wine or snack. The Hop On Hop Off bus stops right there, which is "a must." Viewing all of Barcelona from the top of the bus is a real treat! The hotel is within walking distance of most all of the old city. This hotel was better than I expected! The location is literally next to the plaza where the Catedral Seu sits and not too far a walk to the beach (about 15-20 minutes). Although I speak Spanish, my boyfriend does not and the staff was very friendly in welcoming English speakers. I did have to request someone to clean our room which I thought was odd. From the moment we arrived, somewhat bedraggled after a red-eye from the US, the front desk personnel took great care of us! They were all proficient in English (a huge plus!) and kind and helpful. The hotel is beautiful and the free internet off the lobby was a great asset. Close enough to Las Ramblas for many walks to the shops and attractions there each day. The rooms were very comfortable and quiet. TV NEVER WORKED. I asked, and got free internet. Service at the bar in evening as non existent. Rooms were very modern and comfortable. Nice size showers as well. Walking distance to las rambla and other sites. Good restaurants in area too. Try taller de tapas.

This is a 5 star hotel with a 4 star rating. Great service. The room was huge compared to other Europe hotels we had stayed at. Excellent eating recommendations from the front desk staff. Good: amazing location - adjacent to the Cathedral and in the heart of the Barri Gothic; really good Vietnamese place across the street; really cool inner courtyard (great place to read or bring the laptop); strong wireless signal. Bad: "king" bed was two twins pushed together so an amazing bump in the middle of the bed; really noisy / thin walls; […] a/c never really worked aside from blowing lukewarm air around; rooftop pool but no bar service. This hotel was expensive compared to all the other hotels we stayed in Spain this trip. It was in a good situation. We paid our account before we arrived. When checking out, they tried to charge us another 250 euros! As a result we asked for a receipt to say all paid up. The desk staff were reluctant to do this. The hotel itself is great. We just had a 'bad' room ...with some additional issues. Apparaently our mistake for not reading reviews ahead of time re: "do NOT get inside room". A person could have been whispering in their couryard, but sounded like a party with the room's windows open. Issues with room. Because of noise outside (lots of w/e parties) […] we put A/C on more than would have. 2 vents - 1 blowing directly on 1 side of bed, other vent didn't work at all. Could not close 1 window & needed desk help to "giggle with it" to get it to close (happened with 2 different windows). Room safe directions - 1st time ever needed help deciphering... "It happens often". was the reply. Everything was handled immediately- i.e. Great service, just issues the way the room was built, that shouldn't have come up at all. Had trouble getting WiFi access in room. When talked to front desk about it. "We won't charge you". Problem was... didn't realize there was a charge for WiFi to start. But, with all that said. The hotel itself was great & the location couldn't be beat. Would just make sure did NOT have room facing courtyard & now we know how to deal with idiot-syncracies of room. Devamı

Hotel Barcelona Catedral was for us in the perfect location -- in the "old town" and just a short walk to Ramblas and many of the places we planned to visit. There are many excellent restaurants nearby, all within walking distance. Our room was large (for Europe) and comfortable, although the bed was a bit hard. My only complaint (and a minor one) was […] that the hotel's free WiFi signal wasn't strong enough in our room. The staff was pleasant and accommodating, and handled all of our requests well. We took advantage of the breakfast on our first morning and found it very good if a bit pricey. A good, reasonably priced breakfast can be found at many nearby locations, so don't hesitate to wander about and try the local fare. All in all a very pleasant stay. Devamı

Great hotel,well located,has all the facilities including swimming pool [which is rare in Barcelona] and very reasonably priced.I would stay there again.

We were very impressed with the location in Barri Gothic- quiet street close to everything we wanted to see. From our window we could almost make out the Cathedral; from the pool at the top you can see the Cathedral spires and Sagrada Familia. The staff was very friendly and helpful. One frustration: on the website and in some hotel literature wifi […] access was listed as free, once we arrived it was 10 euros for 24 hours. There were 3 computers in the lobby with internet access that prevented us from complaining loudly. There was construction going on a building facade across the street from our window- the noise started around 9 am though, so not too early. We have travelled a bit around western Europe and have stayed in a few hotels and really liked the modern style and feel of Hotel Catredal. Would stay in this place again because of the great location and reliable cleanliness. Devamı

Lovely hotel in a brilliant location for all the best spots in central Barcelona - didn't use bar or restaurants so I cannot comment on them, although the bar area by reception looked very nice. Unlike many hotels directly on the Ramblas, this is quiet at night which is a bonus. Room was good and clean, shame we couldn't open the window more than a […] crack. Devamı

Hotel is a little hard to find, especially at night when its hard to see the street sign placards that are located on the buildings themselves instead of a typical street sign we are used to in the States. Located on a side street right off the Cathedral plaza, very close to several cafes and Las Ramblas. We took the Aerobus from the airport to Plaza […] Catalunya and walked from there; not a long distance at all. Hotel staff were courteous and helpful, and the hotel offered a free morning tour of the Gothic Quarter which we found very interesting and informative. Rooms were clean and well-decorated. We had 3 rooms in our party. One room was fine. The second room did not have hot water or working A/C, so they had to be moved to another room. The third room had very weak A/C, so it stayed warm through most of the night. Mattresses are on the hard side! Service at the front desk was inconsistent. Very nice place, should include breakfast especially for the price we paid.

The Catedral was better than I thought it would be. Expected an older, European hotel but this was fairly modern and in a great spot - right by plaza with the Catedral. The Rambla was in walking distance, although after walking it once we didn't go back there during our 2 day stay. Our biggest issue with the Catedral was they wanted 19 Euro in order […] to get American TV channels. The regular channels only had one English language station, France 24, I believe. Cet hôtel est très bien situé, le quartier est calme la nuit et très proche des transports publiques et des Ramblas. Dommage que le sol des chambres ne soit pas nettoyé. C'est la 2ème fois que je me rends dans cet hôtel et que je constate ceci.

Ett supercentralt medelklass hotell mitt i gamla stan med några hundra meter till ramblan och gothkvarteren! Helt ok frukostbuffé men små rum..och väldigt varmt på rummet även i januari..kanske skulle undvika detta Hotell mitt på sommaren, men annars rent & snyggt, bra service och som sagt superbra läge!

Liegt im Gotischen Viertel unmittelbar an der Fußgängerzone, sehr zentral gelegen, kaum Fahrzeugverkehr am Hotel, Zimmer ausreichend und ordentlich, Sauberkeit sehr gut, Badewanne als Dusche ist gewöhnungsbedürftig, Frühstück kann man sich zusammenstellen und in der Küche zubereiten lassen...ist aber mit 18€ p.P. im Preis beachtlich! meget støj fra hotellets restaurant/gårdhave med høj musik. Udsigt til nabohusets vinduer/altaner få meter fra vindue. En meget trist udsigt. Een stol (kontorstol) på værelset. For dyrt i forhold til kvalitet.

Hotellet ligger utrolig godt plasert, midt i gamlebyen med Barcelona Katedral som nærmeste nabo, og Rambla bare 5 minutter spasertur unna. Hotellet var forholdsvis nytt og moderne, rent og ryddig. Rommene var romslige og badet var stort og fint. Vi prøvde takterassen og bassenget, det var ok. Deilig med en fredelig oase midt i sentrum, der du kunne […] slappe av og nyte solen. Eneste minus var frukosten som var alt for dyr. Vi spiste ikke der, det var nok av små kafeer og bakeri rett utenfor hotellet der du fikk kjøpt frukost til halve prisen av det hotellet skulle ha, 18 euro for frukost er alt for mye! Ellers et supert hotell. Velger gjerne samme hotell om vi reiser til Barcelona en annen gang. Devamı

A bit expensive but located in the middle of Bari Gothic with shopping, bars, restaurants, La Rambla just around the corner. 10 min walk to the beach. Clean, spacy rooms. A small pool on the roof that where quite sufficient (for of season anyways). The only drawback (for me) was the fact that the beds where quite mute, would have prefered a softer one, […] but this is just down to ones personal preferences. Devamı

We arrived in Barcelona in the morning, and whne we god to the hotel, we received keys to our room right away. The hotel is in the middle of the city center, so we went for a stroll and had a look at the beautiful cathedral in the immidiate closeness to the hotel. The hotel is also located close to La Rambla and the other shopping areas - about 5-10 […] mins walk. There are many nice restaurants in the area. Just follow the narrow streets behind the cathedral and pop in to one of the small local tapas restaurants. They have the best tapas and nicest prices. After a few hours of walking and sightseeing in beautiful Barcelona, going back to the hotel and pick up swim suits and take the lift up to the roof of the hotel was perfect. Nice bedchairs for sunbathing and a little pool for a refreshing swim. We had some problems with the Internet connection during our stay, but other than that, there is nothing negative to say about our stay. This hotel is absolutely recommended. Devamı

Ypperlig beliggenhet. Godt utgangspunkt for å komme til severdigheter. Gåavstand også til/fra flybussen. Stille og rolig. Mange hyggelige spisesteder i nærheten.

la situation de l'hôtel est idéale pour visiter la ville. l'hôtel est très calme, il y a des parkings couverts et surveillés dans la rue derrière. Nous n'avons pas pris nos pdj à l'hôtel car nous voulions découvrir d'autrs lieux donc nous ne pouvons pas comenter ce service.

Bra hotell med utmärkt läge i centrum ,tyst och relativt lugnt trots läget. Personal i receptionen har dåligt engangemang efter incheckningen. Hotell frukosten kostade 18,5 euro vilket är alldeles för mycket, hälften hade mer motsvarat värdet.

Det største plus ved dette hotel er dets beliggenhed lige midt i det gotiske kvarter. Værelserne er lidt små, men holdes pæne og rene. Service er fin på hotellet og morgenmaden er god.

God service av betjeningen som var meget god i engelsk. Hadde problemer med trådløs internettforbindelsen første dagen, men det ble ordnet greit etter en telefon til resepsjonen med personlig oppfølging og med direkte kabeltilkobling. Rommet hadde god standard og meget godt renhold. Hotellet ligger 5 minutters gange fra der flybussen stopper og starter […] sin rute. Utrolig lett å orientere seg til og ut fra hotellet, og hotellet ligger meget sentralt i forhold til shopping og serverdigheter. Minusene må være: Ikke inkludert frokost, hard seng, og noe støy fra inngangspartiet på natters tid. Vi boddde på et litt ugunstig rom i forhold til dette - rett over inngangen på 2. etg. Vi skulle gjerne spist frokost på hotellet, men med de prisene som de oppererer med - så ble det heller hyggelige frokoster på noen av de mange serveringsplassen som ligger rett ved hotellet. Hotellet lå super godt i hjertet af Barcelona. Det er sjældent at fotos af hoteller ikke "lyver" lidt, men i dette tilfælde blev vi glædeligt overrasket - super lækkert, rent hotel med søde og hjælpsomme receptionister. Jeg fik ikke spist i restauranten, så det kan jeg ikke vurdere. Jeg har været i Barcelona mange gange og boet på forskellige hoteller […] - det her hotel vender jeg helt sikkert tilbage til. Devamı

Brilliant location, quiet rooms!

This is my 4th stay at Barcelona Catedral, and yet again they lived up to our expectations. Clean, comfortable, nice staff and situated right in the heart of Barcelona. The price of the breakfast is the only minus with this hotel in my opinion. Will most definitely stay there the next time I come to Barcelona as well!

Very nice and clean room with efficient & friendly service. The location is excellent: very central, short walking distance to the Rambla, no trafic noise. One negative comment: the water of the swimming pool was very dirty....this needs to be improved. Mabe they had a problem with the filter?
