The New Orleans Guest House is a great place to stay for the price. We switched to this location after spending several nights in another hotel to save some money. The staff was very friendly and accommodating for both our nights there. We only had 2 concerns with our stay. First, the locals in N.O. say themselves that the city is not always safe. This […] hotel is off the beaten path a little bit, which may make some guests a little uncomfortable walking home at night. That being said, at no point did we feel uneasy with our walk home, but certainly be aware of your surroundings if you venture out after dark. The second thing was the state of the hotel. I personally enjoyed the "unique charm" of the hotel and our room, but my companion was less impressed, so fair warning. the Bed and Breakfast was very easy to spot being bright pink in color. It has a lot of New Orleans charm so do not expect a luxury hotel. The rooms are small but full of beautiful knick knacks that makes you feel like you are visiting a friend. The owners are always present and very friendly and helpful. You should know before you go that the New Orleans Guest House was built in 1848. So if you are expecting a Marriott, it's not that. If you are expecting a quaint, and clean bed and breakfast style hotel, then this is a very nice place. It was a great place to stay in the French Quarters. Far enough to be away from the noise and close enough to walk downtown. Our hosts were extremely helpful and friendly. If we go back to New Orleans we won't even look for another place to stay. Parking was safe and free. Internet was free and a small fruit and croissant for breakfast was free.

I highly recommend this B&B. The staff was great and it has a very cool and comfy vibe. Great location to the French Quarter and you really cannot beat the price compared to the rest of the options around the Quarter. The location of the Guest House and the staff was wonderful. They need to clean out the rooms and dispose of the carpet and put in hard wood or vinyl floors. New Orleans is to wet and humid for carpet. The rooms have a lot of mold. Once they clean that up it would be a perfect place to stay while hanging in the Big Easy.

This is a lovely little B&B just outside the French Quarter with a lot of character. Everything we wanted to get to was within walking distance and the price was extremely reasonable compared to other chain hotels / B&Bs in the area. My only warning though: don't leave anything remotely valuable out, as you may find it mysteriously missing from your […] room! During our stay, I asked if the housekeeper had moved my eye glasses when cleaning the room because they were nowhere to be found. After some back and forth between the housekeeper and the owner, he told us that the housekeeper hadn't touched them and I must have misplaced them. 10 minutes later, the owner came back with the glasses, saying they had been sitting on the front desk! I couldn't have been happier with our stay here. My fiancé and I stayed in room 5, which was clean, comfortable, and spacious. We also had our own bathroom. The owner was welcoming and very helpful. We were served a breakfast of fresh sliced fruit, a warm croissant, coffee and juice each morning. There was even a separate breakfast room and courtyard […] where we could eat. This is a gem of a boutique B & B in the French Quarter, ideally placed approx. 3 blocks from Bourbon Street. The hosts were very warm and welcoming and the on-site parking is a real bonus in this part of the city. This was very close to everything. Walking distance to Bourbon Street, French Market, Cafe Du Monde, etc. THE SERVICE WAS EXCELLENT. They were so nice and breakfast was great. My bf woke up late (after breakfast was served) and they went and made him a plate anyways. I will DEFINITELY stay here again.

Everything was great except traffic noise at night, and the time of breakfast. It was from 9 - 11 and we are early risers. They did make coffee for us as soon as we got up and the 2nd day we were given our breakfast of fruit and croissant earlier than 9.

The price is VERY reasonable for the room, especially compared with other Hotels in the area. The whole place is a quaint guesthouse with a lot of history. The room is a slight bit smaller than an average sized hotel room, but we found no problem having enough space for the two of us. I would definitely stay in this hotel again if traveling with my son. The hotel is far from Borboun St. and the staff was very welcoming. They also provided us with a map of the French Quarter which saved our life!! It showed up which routes to take after dark and so forth. We stayed at the New Orleans guest house for a weekend getaway and I was so vey glad we did. I loved everything. It's close enough to walk to everything in the French quarter. But far away enough to sleep at night without having to deal with the loud noise from bourbon street. The staff was so friendly and wonderful. The free breakfast and parking is […] a great plus. The day manager Alvin was very helpful and informative when I checked in, and directed me to several local points of interested which were awesome. If you are all about extras like room service, pool, spa, and fitness center... this is not the place for you. If you want a quiet, personable atmosphere with plenty of charm, welcome home!

Stayed for a weekend getaway in New Orleans. Nice place. Walking distance to French Quarter. Building old and showing signs of wear, but comfortable and clean overall. Staff very nice. Complimentary breakfast only served from 9-11 am, so we enjoyed coffee and beignets at Cafe Du Monde both mornings of our stay.

I booked this B&B last minute for a race weekend. Having read the reviews, I knew to expect a somewhat eccentric experience and was happy to have that expectation realized. The place is funky and charming. We had a "courtyard" room, upstairs and overlooking the garden/cafe. The atmosphere was so awesome - it felt like being in an aviary or jungle. The […] banana tree was actually fruiting and the goldfish pond was a fun added feature. The café itself was a hoot – I loved the flamingos everywhere. We only had breakfast one day because of my super early race on Sunday, but it was good. It was a simple large croissant with fruit, juice, and coffee. I had kind of expected more food but it was totally fine. Saved us more room for tasty French Market treats! The staff was super nice and helpful, offering suggestions for meal locations and tips on directions. Our room was fairly simple/plain and it felt a little like being in a fun house b/c the floor slanted slightly down when we walked in, and the bathroom slanted up. We lost our balance a few times but it just made the whole experience more fun and memorable. I was not that enthralled with the bed linens – they were a little stiff for my taste, and the room temperature was a bit tricky to regulate. However, it was clean and tidy and we only wanted a space to sleep so it was fine. We loved that we could walk to all the French Quarter attractions and felt like we were really in New Orleans.
