The hotel was the perfect location for everything that I did that weekend. Close to downtown and my son college. The room was great for the price

We needed an inexpensive hotel to stay in while we worked a trade show. The hotel was easy to get to from the convention center. The continental breakfast was very nice. The wireless Internet was fast. We had a refrigerator and microwave. The only problem was the heat. If we had it on, it got too hot, even when we turned it down. We stayed 3 nights and the hotel met all our needs. The hairdryer in the room did not work, but the front desk had a brand new dryer available. It was quiet and we were able to rest. We would recommend this hotel to anyone needing to stay in the Des Moines area.

complimentery breakfast was really good. but the motel need upgraded. furnishings and decor weren't very modern.

Some of the fixtures and furniture were a bit shabby, but the carpet, paint, linens, and many other parts of the place were brand new... definitely recent improvements. Breakfast was a decent carb fest. It lacks any curb appeal stuck behind the Baymont Suites, but inside it's tidy and quiet.

For the money this is a great place to stay. Staff was terrific and helpful. We wii stay again.

the breakfast was disappointing. our t.v. and internet wasn't working for the majority of our stay. our heater stopped working and they didn't have a maintenance person there at all times to check it out so we were given the option to switch rooms. it's clean but it's old. you get what you pay for. the rooms are small. next time i'll probably spend […] a little more and stay somewhere else. Our initial reservation had to be changed due to errors in booking, so we didn't stay at the Travelodge but at the Holiday Inn. Hotels.com went "above and beyond" to make sure we had suitable accommodations for our one-night stay, and we were spared the frustration of trying to check into a full hotel without a backup plan.

We stayed three miles from the fairgrounds! It was well located to that and the capital and on a main street so there were restaurants to choose from. Easy access from the highway, as well. Situated behind another hotel, so it was extra quiet. The outdoor pool was kinda cold, but not an issue. We had a smoking room, but you couldn't tell!!! Fantastic! […] Great breakfast, easy access. It may look a bit dumpy outside, but rooms were clean, beds comfy, free breakfast, pool, and close proximity make it a great place to stay. Devamı

excellent location to go where u want in Iowa/Des Moines

Very nice clean comfortable room at a nice price. We were driving cross country and just want a clean quiet place to sleep for the night. This was one of the best values on our cross county jaunt. Night clerk on check in was great. Friendly, helpful. Nice breakfast to help us get on the road the next morning. A nice value, well worth the money.

This hotel is very outdated. Beds were quite uncomfortable. The tile was broken. The food was not good. They ran out of milk by 6:30. We were quite disappointed.

I had problems with this hotel as soon as I arrived. I had made my reservation via Hotels.com a few days earlier and had arrived for check in when I was supposed to. I went in to check in and get my room keys and the man at the front desk said that I had reserved a smoking room when in fact I had not. I told him that there must have been a mistake and […] that I was sure that I had reserved a non-smoking room as my wife is allergic to cigarette smoke. He made a strange face as if to let me know that he thought I was lying and proceeded to tell me that all that he had available was a smoking room. He did NOT apologize for this inconvenience. He simple gave me one choice. Either stay in a smoking room or don't. I said again that there must be some sort of mistake and that I would be calling Hotels.com to figure it out. I left the lobby and went to my vehicle. A few seconds later the man ran outside to catch me before I left. He was laughing and said (and I quote),"Boy you were real fast to leave, you didn't give it any time to see how things played out". I was not laughing. I didn't understand what he mean by that statement and still don't today. I asked if he had found a non-smoking room for us since he had just told me that he had nothing but smoking rooms left not five minutes prior. He said he found us something. I went back inside. He went on to make some more rude and un-professional comments like saying that I had no sense of humor. I will not be staying in this hotel again. The gentleman working was extremely rude and unprofessional and should be fired. He first lied to me and then when I said that I would be calling Hotels.com and left he quickly chased me outside and proceeded to back peddle on what he had just said to me. You could tell that it was an older motel but it was clean and organized. The pool is outdoor and a very nice size compaired to others indoor. Rooms were nice and clean. For the price, I would recommend this motel.

I think overall it was a very nice place. The service was great.

Was a cheaper hotel, had a decent breakfast but I am sure that is because it was a booked weekend with the D.M. Car show. Bed was uncomfortable and the Bedding was old. Hotel overall was old and not very clean. Also Internet says Pets are allowed, but once you get there, they are not.

i stayed at this travelodge everything was fine, our room was clean the staff was friendly. the only problem we had was the hotel switchboard was down so we couldnt use the phones but other than that it was fine.

The comforter on the bed was stiff and rough, and the bed was not comfortable at all. However, the proximity to the jobsite and the inclusion of a microwave and mini-fridge made up for my sleep-deficiency.

Pool, Breakfast, Clean Rooms, Large King Beds, Friendly Staff, Great Price, 'Nuff Said. Don't expect the Ritz, but then again, don't pay the price for the Ritz.

The floor was dirty. The blanks smelt bad. They had no roll away beds, even though. The wed site said so. And in the morning there was rodent droppings in the bathroom

It’s a nice hotel. They have great breakfast too…

evidence of recent updates were present in my room and the lobby and exterior seemed to be in process. Maybe new ownership. The room was very clean, well equiped and confortable. The free breakfast was slightly above par with a waffle maker but still just a carbo explosion unlike any other free breakfast. Extremely satisified for the rate charged.

The hotel was comfortable enough. It was quiet. It does need some updating as far as carpeting in the public areas is concerned. Very worn and stained. Also, employess were smoking outside the front entrance and had to walk through a cloud of smoke to enter the hotel. There was no hot water to shower with. I was a little worried about this hotel because it was so much less then all the other hotels in Des Moines. It definitely wasnt the Ritz, but for the money it was great.. The room was clean and fairly modern, the breakfast was better then expected.

Stayed here when out of town for a week for business. The room was clean with fridge and microwave. Breakfast was basic but was free and people were helpful overall. The cost was low and thus the stay was worthwhile. Not a great family vacation place.

I was a bit hesitant after reading previous reviews on booking a room. However, my stay was better than expected. The staff was excellent and very knowlegeable and each of there suggestions, directions, and referrals were excellent! The only thing that I was a bit disappointed in was the carpets in the rooms were in need of a deep cleaning.

The hotel was very dirty, to walk across the floor in our room barefoot you could feel the filth, and if you had on socks the bottoms got dirty. the room stunk, and the bed was broken down. The breakfast had day old doughnuts to offer and the waffle machine and mix were horrible. It was very noisy at night so you could really sleep, that and the condition […] of the bed. My husband are now sick and I am sure it was a direct cause of the filth in the hotel and room. I would not recommend this place for someones dog. It should be torn down. The pictures on the web site DID NOT LOOK LIKE THE ROOMS OR HOTEL AT ALL!! Devamı

It was good until door broke and found a mouse trap under the bed when making sure everything was out of the room before checking out wifi didn't work at all bed was uncomfortable

Have stayed at travel lodge for 4 years. This time the hotel was replacing the tile floor at 2am!! A "bum" was in the stairwell!! The breakfast left alot to be desired. They were out of things and didn't know when they could replace them! Good price but that was last time to stay there.

This hotel needs a great deal of updating and repair. There were large chips in the paint in our room and the lens to the peephole in the door was missing. My husband pushed some paper into the hole so that no one could look into the room! The bed was hard and the TV reception was fuzzy. The shower had very little water pressure and the shower head […] was so low it was very uncomfortable to use. It is located in an industrial area and there were trains passing throughout the night. We didn't expect much for the price that we paid, but this place left much to be desired. My advice would be to spend the extra money and stay somewher else. Devamı

We were just staying 1 nt for a trade show, so not expecting much. The lobby with breakfast was nice. Room was very nice and comfy for the price. Waffle iron, cereal, donuts etc for breakfast. WIFI in the room. The outside of the hotel doesn't look impressive... but the inside more than met our expectations for the price we paid. We got lucky on this […] one!!! Devamı

Well, you get what you pay for. I needed a place to stay the night that was cheaper than where my conference was. Was excited to see what looked like a big, comfortable chair. Then looked and the arms were so dirty there was no nap left to the fabric and it was black. Room had a funny odor too, couldn't place it but it was not pleasant. But - to redeem […] itself, the front desk clerk that checked me in was awesome! He was a quality young man that you would have expected to take care of you at the Marriott or Radisson! Devamı

I hate to bad-mouth a place so I will say that if you are looking for CHEAP, "just to get us by" - then this place will suffice. Don't expect too much. As with anything - you get what you pay for:)
