Oak Inn - Richmond Hill

I stayed there because it was the closest hotel to my job sight. All I cared about was cleanliness, and that's about all you should expect. Past the hotel lobby, the building and rooms are aged. The location is great for dinner, you can buy almost anything at the shoppers DM across the street, and there's a coffee shop drive-thru right next door for […] the morning! We stayed in this hotel for one night, the website pictures looked much nicer than the actual location. We had a view of a house that was being totally renovated out our room window. The hotel its self sits behind a gas station of the main street. This is NOT a non smoking hotel and that took a very long time to get used to for all of us who are non […] smokers. We were able to sleep 5 people in the room which was nice since that is difficult to do these days in most hotels so we were pleased with this offering, and it was an affordable upgrade. Although we had to call down for additional bedding that should have been waiting in the room. When it arrived the blanket had burn holes in it. The continental breakfast was sparce to say the least, with only one type of Juice, the other had run out at 6:45am!?!? The coffee was very tasty though. The hotel staff was pleasant and accommodated most of our requests (less the orange juice). The beds were relatively comfortable though the room was small. We only stayed here one night for a tournament so it was just a place to lay our heads. I would likely make the longer drive from Markham next time and stay at a name brand chain hotel for the same money. Devamı

We've stayed at this hotel off and on for several years now and have absolutely no problems or complaints

Nice front desk staff. Shower great. Bed great. Parking handy & seemed secure. Quite a few restaurants & gas real close. A bit of an exaggeration to call coffee, tea & donuts a continental breakfast.

Hot shower , clean , decent mattress , no problems . In room micro and fridge was nice . My only complaint ? the bathroom was a little beat up , it needed a little love It was a non smoking room and it was . Sometimes they give you a NSR that you know last week was a smokers paradise . I give this hotel a good review on all items, except the bed. The mattress had poor support. Sagged in the the middle.

I stayed in this hotel with my family for one night. It is a very compact hotel with small lobby. They offer the breakfast in that lobby with some bagels, muffins and coffee. This hotel does not feel anything other than a motel. I do not recommend this hotel if you traveling with your family.

I stayed at the Oak in in August 2011, as I did in August 2010, both times while visiting family in the area. I found that the overall state of the hotel had eclined during that year, with faded carpets and peeling paint. On the 1st of my 4 mornings there the free breakfast (stated as 6:30-11:00 AM) was all gone by 10:00 AM, with nor replacements. I […] had previously stayed at the Knight's in several km south of the Oak Inn, but I changed to the Oak Inn last year due to the Knight's Inn never-ending renovations. I see now that it has re-opened as a Travelodge, so next summer I will likely switch back there Devamı

I have to be honest after reading the reviews i was a little nervous about my up coming stay at the hotel. i could not have been so wrong. The staff were friendly and very helpful. The hotel was clean, the rooms and staff were amazing. The buffet breakfast was fresh. The room was fine but quite smal. The continential breakfast was a joke. The coffee was awful and the bun were stale

I arrived a little later than expected due to flight delays and minor issue collecting my car at the airport. The Night Manager was courteous and gracious despite it being nearly 2 am! Would definitely stay again next time I am in the Richmond Hill area!!

I am allergic to smoke and have asthma and when I booked with hotels.ca I expressed the absolute importance that this hotel room was a never been smoked in room. When I got to the hotel I reminded the hotel clerk of this as well and he assured me that there would not be a problem. When I got to the hall way it smelled of smoke and when I entered the […] room it smelled of air freshener and was extremely cold. I turned on the heat and opened the window to see if I could get rid of the smell. Once I put my pajamas on I was so exhausted from my long day at a business meeting that I lay down in the bed and the coughing began. I did not contact the hotel front desk as I wasn't about to move to another room after the long tiring day I had. The coughing began and never stopped until I took my inhaler and finally got to sleep. The next morning I mentioned it casually and the front desk didn't seem to care! I did not have access to a computer as my laptop had to stay at work as someone else was using it so I had no way of getting in touch with hotels.ca to complain. The front desk guy just explained that he could move me but it would not make a difference as it is a non-smoking room but they can't do anything if people are going to smoke in them. All they can do is use air freshener to help with the smell. I also couldn't go anywhere else as there was a no cancellation policy with the room rate that I received. I was totally disgusted and trapped! I have put in a formal complaint to the hotel but have yet to hear back from them and I also have just followed up with hotels.ca so we will see what happens with them. DO NOT STAY HERE if you are concerned with smoke smells at all or even if you are sensitive to smells at all as the air freshener is appalling as well. Devamı
