Hotel Mathios Village - Thira

We will come again, to this hotel, year after year. We absolutly love this hotel, and the people working there. We love you all. our most romantic vacation ever! I wouldn't call this a hotel but more a bed and breakfast. It is well run. Staff are friendly and the manager is hands on. Beds not too good. Food is good, restaurant on the property. Good breakfast (continental). Comfortable. Bathroom too small. Far from main city but on bus route. Overall, an ok stay.

Reading all the either hot or cold reviews on this hotel made me a little nervous about booking this hotel. The combination of reasonable pricing high average of 4.5 put me at ease though and I went through with the booking. I am so glad I did. The hotel is situated in a quiet area with a 15 minute drive between the red and black beaches. Compared […] to the party town atmosphere of Fira & Oia, the relaxed setting was a nice change. The owner Kostas filled us in with what to see and do in Santorini. Since our flight arrived very early in the day and our rooms were not ready, he recommended a full day boat tour to the other islands which I am glad we did. On our return, our rooms was ready. It was typical of the rooms in the Greek isles, clean and basic with a good air conditioner. Regarding the extra charges, we paid 7 euros for the use of the wifi internet for the 3 days, which was very reasonable. The other was the 2 euros each for the blue pool towels which we took on our excursions to the various beaches. We changed the towels daily as well which was great value over the 3 days we had them. Great hotel at a great price. Hotel staff was friendly and very helpful, particularly Mary who greets you at the front desk. She was always smiling and worked very hard to make our stay enjoyable. Kostas the manager was full of helpful tips and always available. The hotel was a bit far from the main town, so if bar hopping and clubbing is your goal […] this would be a little tricky, but if a nice relaxing hotel is what you're looking for this place is the best - it is in a quiet spot and ideal for exploring the island. We rented two mopeds and got to see the whole island then come back to our beautiful hotel for swims and great food! Restaurant food was very good and well priced - restaurant staff were also very friendly and attentive. The grounds were absolutely beautiful and well kept, as were the views from our room. Felt like we were on a five star resort! Call ahead to get Kostas to pick you up from the airport or the port. Devamı

We were really pleased that we stayed here and not in Thira. It was convenient from the ferry although taxi cost more than we expected (check hotel transfers?) The pool/bar area was lovely and the views great from across the road. The set meal deal was good value but there are some great authentic restaurants in the village 10 minutes walk away. Bus […] to Thira stops right outside - cheap and efficient but we were glad to escape back to the calm and space. Devamı

We really enjoyed our stay at this hotel. We had a single and a double room. Both were upgraded at check-in. The hotel owner Costas speaks wonderful English and has a nice sense of humor. We were unaware that there was a dinner offered eacdh night for around 13 Euros. The breakfast was nice. Hard boiled eggs, coffe, tea, tomatoes, yogurt, honey, cheese […] and cereal. Would recommend. Was away from the action but there was parking and we used our car to get to the beaches and the towns of Fira and Oia. Recommend the black beach at Perivolos also. Devamı

We booked this hotel for nine nights hoping it would be okay. We got lucky and found one of the best value and wonderful hotels in Sanotini. Although it's located in a quieter part of the island, it still is a perfect base to explore this island. The best thing I can say about this hotel is that it doesn't feel like it's a hotel. It is a family run […] hotel and as a result, the service is superb and always with a smile. The facilities are brilliant.. two swimming pools, a gym and an outdoor restaurant and bar. Another feature of this hotel is the inhouse travel agency. I asked for a car and it arrived 30mins later. I was able to book any tour from this office and indeed the transfer back to the ferry. Thank you Kostos for making our stay in your hotel very comfortable and enjoyable. When I return to Sanotini, I won't consider staying in any other hotel. This is a diamond and great value Devamı

Hotellet er egnet sig til folk der ønsker sig en afslappende ferie, på et roligt og velfungerede hotel med god service. Omgivelserne er enkle og smukke. Hotellet egner sig ikke til familier med småbørn. Hilsen C

The hotel was very nice and very clean. The pool and pool bar area is well held, very beautifull and had a calm atmostphere where it was very nice to spend the day if you are not so interested in driving around the island to see things. We had a superior room which was very good and the room cleaning is outstanding! The beds though are a little bit […] too hard in my opinion. All in all - a pleasant stay for a relaxing holiday. The hotel is situated a little "in the middle of noware" so you have to rent a car to get a little around on the island. If you are looking for Party you have to check out hotels at Kamari Beach. Det här hotellet hade kunnat få högsta betyg av mig om de inte haft så tråkig attityd vid poolerna. Man fick inte dyka, hoppa, leka eller låta (=inte ha kul som barnfamilj) i de två stora och djupa poolerna. Vi stannade två nätter, hade lätt kunnat bli en vecka om personalen haft en mer avslappnad attityd. Annars var allt bra. Rent, snyggt, bra frukost, […] sköna sängar, fungerande AC och några hundra meter bort fanns flera genuina grekiska restauranger. Devamı

La struttura dell'hotel è meravigliosa. Il personale è estremamente affabile e disponibile. Numerosi sono i servizi offerti. Decisamente scarsa la colazione mentre il ristorante, per quanto riguarda i pasti a pagamento, è ottimo. La posizione non è delle più fortunate, ma si arriva in poco ovunque.

Hotel calme dans partie de l'île agréable. Belles piscines, chambre confortable avec balcon individuel et frigo (apprécié pour l'apéro !). Restaurant de l'hôtel a essayé, bonne cuisine.

Schöne, sehr gepflegte Anlage in kleinen Dorf, welches im Juni zum Glück noch nicht von allzu vielen Touristen bevölkert war! Frühstück eher einfallslos (z.B. keine frischen Früchte, sondern Obst aus der Dose, ...), sehr kleine Zimmer und in den Doppelzimmern ist das Bett nur 1,40 m breit! Dennoch empfehle ich die Unterkunft weiter, weil sie sehr nett […] und familiär geführt wird und sich alle große Mühe geben. Auf Santorini kann man soviel unternehmen, dass man sich eh nur kurz am Zimmer aufhält! Einen Mietwagen würde ich empfehlen! Devamı
