This visit probably is my one millionth's visit. I grew up going almost every weekend to Boca Chica, (and I am not a spring chicken). For me, it is the best, safest and most beautiful beach near the city. Because of its closeness to the capital, Santo Domingo, it might get overcrowded sometimes, so try to avoid weekends, if possible. Lots of activities […] lead by hotel staff, very friendly staff, too. Food is great and plenty. Now, if you want excellent seafood, I would suggest to visit an on-site restaurant not included in any packages. Also, you might want to wander outside of the perimeters of the hotel. i did not enjoy this hotel becuse of the bugs that were in the rooms mosquitoes and roaches , out side of the hotel were guys on bikes up and down day and nite that gave an un easy feeling .they were women in the hotel selling sex and the servce at the fromt desk was poor and very slow , they way i was delt with on the trip by management was not go […] od Devamı

Don't stay there the place is absolutely horrible!

my first impression this hotel was good , i got a nice room with a beautiful view to the beach , just be aware of direction inside of the hotel i got lost is very confusing , the food was good only the reservation restaurant you have to reserve for the next day i got only to go to the mexican ,it was horrible they forgot my order i was waiting for one […] hour for my meal!! the beach was just amazing warm water , clear and clam i love it ,drink were pretty good too i will recomend this place only for a weekend getaway ! Very nice Hotel, but quality of check in staff is left to be desired, took us over 1hour to check in...Never got the room cleaned even though we asked , had to run down the maids to get clean linen and towels....the paid restaurants were the Bomb! food was excellent at the paid restaurant, rather than the all-inclusive..Beach was great!!!!!Was very […] overpriced!!! I will not recommend this hotel to my enemy never mind my friends, the service was horrible, I waited 2 days to get clean towels in my bedroom, the beach area also did not have suffiend towels available for use. The room was dirty and there was no response for any maintenace needs or personal need for room service. The Be Live Hamaca is pretty much one of best Resort near to Santo Domingo city and a good Place to stay. I particularly like the Hotel room, the treatment received from the hotel staffs, the food is really good. The drinking it is so far soso but needs to include more free whiski in their menu.

it is a hotel that had its glory. I dont get why they spend so much time for the check in. I didnt believe it when i read the reviews but it is true. You could be standing there 1hr or close to 2hrs during the check in process. The rooms where clean but they have a very archaic system of retrieving your information or reservation, this delays it a […] lot, and there's a lot of mistakes they make when they dont know the information about your reservation. My husband and I came here for our honeymoon and got terrible service. We don't speak spanish fluently but we know enough to travel. The help desk hung up on us every day, the wait staff ignored us, the room was dirty and falling apart, flies and Mosquitos were our daily roommates, and the food was terrible. This is the only all inclusive resort with direct acces to the beach ( Boca Chica). Rooms are more than spacious and you have a lot of space to move around. Walk in closet is spacious. The Bathroom could have been remodeled though. We had 2 rooms in the building over the frontdesk. Seems to be the oldest part of the resort. But very well kept. Lot […] of humidity in this part of the hotel . The Snack Bar is too small for the amout of people and you have to wait too long for a burger or a pizza. The Hamaca Hotel is the worse place in the Dominican Repúblic. Dirty and nasty food....

My family and I enjoyed the stay, but we did not get the room that we expected. Over all we were satisfy. They might need some improovement on the front desk because it took us an xtra 2 hours to check in. From day one the hot tube and the frige were not working and they did not send any tech or made arrangement to solve the problem.

the Hotel was just horriable .... no towels when I arrived, the room phones did not work and I even had to wait nearly an hour before I even was brought to my room. And the food was another horriable story

I do not recommend this hotel. There were roaches in the room. There are various restaurants at the Hotel, but only one was good.

Terrible check in wait - almost 2 hours & then the room was not ready. One main restaurant that gets crazy busy with average food. Average all in inclusive for the price - there are better on the island, max 3 star.

This hotel is nicely decorated and has an assorment of fun activities. We had a couple of service problems: we booked a no smoking room, but the room we were given had been previously used for smoking and the order was terrible, elevators were not working properly, had a problem with the in room safe, and a bathroom sink that did not function. This was my 1st and last time at this hotel, it starts at the check in process. I was on line to check in for over and hour, and when I got to the front desk there was no record of my reservation, As I told the front desk that this is no acceptable another clerk saids to me everyone has to wait. I thought that was totally unprofessional. I waited another […] half hour while the waited to here from Santo Domingo. THE MANAGMENT OF THIS HOTEL WAS BY FAR THE WORST I HAVE EVER COME IN CONTACT WITH. THE ROOMS ARE NOT CUSTOMER FRIENDLY. WHEN I GOT THERE IT WAS VERY EASY TO CHECK IN WHICH WAS THE BEST THING ABOUT THE WHOLE HOTEL IN GENERAL. WHEN I BOOKED THE ROOM I SAW PICTURES OF THE "ROOMS" BUT THE PICTURES IN FACT WHERE OF THE ROOMS AT THE CONDOS THAT ARE NEXT TO […] THE HOTEL FOR RENT. IT ONLY GOT WORSE AS THE DAYS WENT BY, THE HOTEL IS HOT, AND ITS RUN DOWN. THE CASINO THAT THEY ADVERTISE IS AWFUL. THE SLOT MACHINE TOOK MY SISTERS MONEY AND THERE WAS NOTHING THEY COULD DO ABOUT IT. AS SHE WAS PLAYING IT FROZE AND TURNED OFF. THE AC UNITS ARE OLD AND YOU CANT EVEN TURN THE AIR UP OR DOWN, YOU HAVE TO DEAL WITH IT THE WAY IT IS WHEN YOU GET THERE. SO THE FIRST ROOM WAS HOT AND MUGGY AND THE SECOND ROOM WAS SET TO 65 AND IT STAYED ON ALL NIGHT AND DAY. WE CALLED FOR HELP AND IM STILL WAITING ON IT TO COME. THE MAINENTANCE GUY STOPPED BY BC I WAVED HIM DOWN IN THE HALL AND HE CHANGED THE FILTER THAT HAD MORE DUST ON IT THAN ANY FILTER I HAD EVER SEEN. AWFUL. THE CREW THAT WORKS THERE BARELY SPEAKS ENGLISH , SO IF YOU CANT TALK SPANISH DONT GO HERE. THE RESTUANTS WERE TERRIBLE . THEY WERE INCLUDED IN THE PRICE OF THE ROOM, BUT I RATHER NOT HAVE PAID MY MONEY FOR THE MEALS. ME AND MY SISTER ENDED UP GOING TO THE TWO RESTAURANTS THAT YOU HAD TO PAY FOR AND IT WAS A LITTLE BETTER, WELL ONE DAY I GOT A BURGER THAT SEEMED TO BE FRIED, IT WAS NOT MEDIUM COOKED LIKE I ASKED THATS FOR SURE. WE LEFT THE HOTEL AND WENT TO THE GAS STATION A FEW TIMES AND ALMOST GOT ROBBED BC THE NEIGHBOORHOOD IS A BAD ONE. THE NEXT DAY WE WENT THE OPPOSITE WAY LOOKING FOR A RESTUARANT AND IT WAS JUST A BAD, THE AMBIANCE WAS ONE THAT WAS NOT SAFE. PEOPLE HARRASING YOU TO BUY STUFF AND YOU HAVE TO HOLD ON TO YOUR PURSE. ITS CRAZY BC ITS RIGHT NEXT TO THE HOTEL THAT THIS ENVIRNMENT IS IN. THE STAFF IS NOT FRIENDLY OR HELPFUL. THERE ARE NO ACTIVITIES. THE SNACK BAR HAS RUBBER FOR FOOD. After traveling to the DR over 40 times, this was the absolute WORST hotel experience I have ever had. I have stayed in very simple hotels to resort hotels. All of them FAR exceeded the service and expectations of this hotel. When we expressed our concerns, we were told that it didn't mater because the hotel was always full with a lot of people anyway. The […] restaurant staff actually yelled us us when we asked for a 2nd time when something would be ready. The room was pleasant enough however did not include any hand towels or washclothes. I recommend ANY hotel in Boca Chica or Juan Dolio over the Hamaca. You will enjoy your DR experience much better! Devamı

Without getting into too many details, this was the worst travel experience I ever had. Oh yeah, and...... DO NOT GO INTO THE CASINO AND PLAY "POWERBALL" . THIS IS A GLORIFIED, SOMEHOW LEGAL, SHELL GAME.

The Entertaiment staff was the only good thing about this Hotel Dominican's are the friendliest people on earth. The food at this hotel was horrible, will never go back.

Check in is a complete nightmare. I paid for a double bed room and got one with a king. Their solution was a cot. They moved us the next night but at my inconvenience. The food is inedible but there's a lot of it. El Presidente beer was the only thing i enjoyed. I will NEVER stay at this "resort" again.

The room is spacious. Nothing special. The bathtub was stained. The shower head was broken. I woke up at 1:30am to a noise above my head and it turned out that a mouse ran over my pillow. Absolutely disgusting. Needless to say I asked for another room. They provided an upgrade. This room was nicer. Staff in restaurants are overworked, but nice enough. […] The restaurants are oopen only specific times. Food is bad, poor quality. How can this be rated a 5 star hotel and charge that rate for what they give in return? I'll never go back or recommend this hotel. Devamı

The second day of my stay in Hamaca, the lady that cleans the room took the towels and didn't come back. I was without towels in my room until the following day. Luckily I had the ones from the beach and I was able to use those. I guess the hotel is ok for the price you pay. The variety of restaurants was great. Mangos could be better, though. El Fogon […] was super good, excellent! The pool by the garden was wonderful and the attention from one of the bartender was great. I wish I knew his name, Kudos to him!! This hotel has gone from bad to worse..I stayed in this hotel previously a few times and the service was better back then than now.The check-in process is extremely slow and terrible.I had to wait 3 hours to get my room and also had to wait like forever to do the check in.Also you have to pay for the usage of a safe box which is ridiculous.I had a "free […] room upgrade" and no were in the hotel computer system it showed that I was supposed to be given an ocean view room.The clerk at the front desk made me go to the internet lounge and print out the copy of the receipt from hotels.com indicating the "free room upgrade" even though I had spoken twice to someone in the hotel and they confirmed to me prior to arrival that I would get an ocean-view room.When I get to the room the door was busted on the bottom, the dresser was in a complete mess with the drawers busted, the ceiling in the bathroom was leaking water due to a problem with the bathtube from the room right above me and the mini-bar was never opened in the room even though I called twice to the front desk and informed them to send someone and open up the mini-bar.The elevator was not working properly and it would go out of service for the majority of the day. The bar service needs to improve drastically because the servers are very slow and after standing in the bar to ask for a drink they make you wait for a while before asking you what do you want to drink. For dinner I suggest going to the buffet or go to the Rigoletto pasta restaurant which is the only place I really enjoyed eating. For the amount of guest that go to this hotel and for all the things they proclaim to say about how "good" this place is this hotel is extremely overrated. For an all-inclusive place it barely does the job.I don't recommend anyone staying in this place for no more than 3 nights if you really must have to choose this hotel as a destination. Devamı

The place was much better than expected after reading other reviews. Some things are true - the staff is indifferent to guests, the minibar never gets unlocked, check in is a pain. Other things were far better - the food was pretty good for all inclusive, we upgraded to an ocean front room which was worth it. The hotel has more than you can expect, food, bevereage, people, entertainment, beach, pools, everything is fine. However, the SPA people are a little bit picking on you and Vacation team really bother the tourist.

I think this hotel needs a lot of improvement. Overall I thought it has the potential but nothing was carried out the way it should be. We had a problem checking in and the customer service is really bad there, they wouldn't explain why. They first gave us a room without air conditioning and no towels. I literally called every 10 minutes for a couple […] of hours and they would say they were sending someone up each time. We lost our patience and brought our luggage to the front desk ourselves. They gave us a better room that happened to be poolside. The website shows there are 5 restaurants to eat at but every night we were there only the buffet and the pasta restaurant were open. If they weren't going to have all them open they should have at least switched off every night instead of leaving the same ones open. The pasta restaurant was good but the buffet was not. The breakfast was the same every morning and got boring. The poolside buffet had the same things and they didn't look very appetizing. I wish that the customer service was better and that they had more servers who could understand basic English as well. Some of the bartenders were great and the drinks were really strong you just have to give a $1 every few drinks. I enjoyed the night club. It was good that the bar was also open 24/7. Très bon hotel,les pieds dans l'eau,avec un très bon accueil!

LLegue un Viernes por la noche y tuve que esperar una hora para el chequeo. Solo habia dos empleados trabajando. La espera fue muy larga cuando uno llega cansado de un viaje quiere descansar lo mas pronto posible. Aparte de eso mi estadia fue muy buena.

Hôtel bien situé dans la ville. Très belle plage et repas correcte. Personnel souriant et essayant de comprendre vos demandes même si votre espagnol n'est pas forcément très bon. Les services du Spa sont très appréciables.
