Very good character hotel, a beautiful building. Very comfortable bed. The service from the staff was impeccable; they were always polite, helpful and attentive. The hotel is located out of the town, so one is dependant on a car. I can thoroughly recommend this hotel.

Guimaraes is a gem for tourists- castles, museums, Celtiberian ruins (Citania de Briteiros) and a series of little streets and squares for wandering around and eating in. The Pousada overlooks the city about a 1 km walk up a hill from the centre of town and is magnificent, although it still felt quite down to earth- it didn't have loads of people bustling […] around, or businessmen in suits; it was October though. It is a historical building worth visiting in its own right, so staying there is quite an experience. The public areas, terraces, balconies, cloisters, pool, giant corridor etc., are most striking. The bedrooms were originally monastic cells and still reflect this, with small windows- they're well appointed and comfortable. TV had only local channels, but why bother with that here? Staff were very helpful and friendly. A glass of port on the terrace at sunset to be recommended. Food in the restaurant was enjoyable, but a bit pricey; town isn't so far...Summary: a bit extravagant, but worth it. I would love to go there again (once I save up). Devamı

Lovely converted monastery. Long walk into town, through not great area, so get cab... Swimming pool in great position and highly recommended.

The Pousada is a beautiful historic construction and the decoration is in accordance with the building with lots of museum pieces. The staff is very helpful, the room was comfortable and clean; we requested to stay in the fifth floor that is the “historic” floor (ancient cells) and we got a room with beautiful city view. Breakfast was very good; we […] did not had the chance to have dinner at the hotel, but the dining room is beautiful and it seems worth having dinner at the hotel. Although the Pousada is in the upper part of the town, it is a very short drive, around 1 km, to the historic center. It was amazing to be in a town that is considered be the cradle of Portugal with an amazing history center dated from centuries ago and staying in a historic building like Santa Marinha da Costa; it felt like being part of history. I have stayed at this Pousada several times in the past 15 years. Superb location and the Pousada itself - a converted monastery - reflects much of Portugal's historic past with beautiful public rooms and cloisters, many containing antique furniture and paintings. The dining hall staff were attentive and professional although we were disappointed on […] this trip by the limited dinner menu. While regional specialities are welcome, a broader selection of items for dinner would be even more attractive. Some excellent wines are available at reasonable cost. Sehr individuelle Poussada. Wer alte, dicke Mauern und eine schlossähnliche Ausstattung mag, ist hier genau richtig. Von der Stadt ein bisschen abgelegen, aber noch in Spazierreichweite. Abends zurück wird ein Taxi empfohlen.

Es un hotel muy bonito y tranquilo a los viajeros que pasen por guimaraes se los recomiendo, fuera de que están viviendo en la historia de un hermoso convento se disfruta de una tranquila estadía y una gran atención del personal es un hotel esclucivo gracias al personal hotel pousada guimaraes por tan agradable estadía oscaar . O hotel fica um pouco longe do centro histórico. No entanto, o atendimento foi ótimo e o quarto é confortável. Além disso, o hotel se situa num antigo convento o que não deixa de ser mais um atrativo.

Event. im sommer empfehlenswert - in dieser Jahreszeit - kalte und trostlose ambiance. Abendessen recht mittelmässig. Wenn man davon ausgeht, dass es das beste Hotel ist und nicht einmal slippers / geschweige einen Bademantel im Zimmer vorfindet, na dann sage ich das wars !

Es una pena que un sitio tan fantastico tenga un personal en su restaurante digno de una autentica tasca. Mal servicio, comedor vacio y aunque habia reservado en recepción el responsable me discute que no es cierto, pata de insecto gigante en la sopa, ensalada sin ingredientes descritos en la carta y agua que llega al postre...En fin, en recepción por […] la mañana nos dieron todo tipo de excusas y aguantaron ellos mis quejas con respeto y cortesia. Très bon et bel hôtel mais restauration moyenne et tarifs du bar abusifs. Penser à changer l'adresse sinon hôtel introuvable même avec un GPS !

HIOTEL UBICADO EN UN ANTIGUO MONASTERIO, MUY BIEN CONSERVADO, CON MUCHA HISTORIA AL IGUAL QUE LA CIUDAD, GUIMARAES. TRATO Y SERVICIO INPECABLES. HABITACION SIN ALGUNAS COMODIDADES, PERO COMPRENSIBLE DEBIDO A LA ANTIGUEDAD DEL LUGAR. EN GENERAL MUY BUENA EXPERIENCIA.
