Hotel La Palma - Stresa

This was a beautiful hotel right on the shore of Lake Maggiore. It was close to the town and to the boat docks. The room was very spacious. We booked a balcony side lake view and were very happy. Very good hotel near Stresa certer. Approximately 100 m from center. Takes ca.3-5 minutes to walk to main shopping area. Personnel are very helpful and nice. Most of them speak englisg and some even german (in addition to Italian). On roof you can find sun deck in which you can enjoy sun and magnifizent views to lake maggiore. In second highest floor […] you can find gym and spa area. Especially gym is nice, because it is not so much used, and equipments are brand new and top of technology. Superb! If I really have to pinpoit something negative then I would mention cleaners who are too loud; they shout to each other in corridors and between rooms. It is little bit irritating if you are trying to rest or your baby is trying to get sleep. Albeit cleaners very friendly. You can hear some noice from corridor and other rooms, but not too much. They could improve airconditioning, which did not work properly when we were there early April. Also hotel could rethink what to put to minibar and what is not needed. Furthermore they could increase their sales by distributing restaurant menu's to hotel rooms so that customers could easyly order room service (which is available,but you have to understand to ask for it). Hotel's restaurant is good and food excellent. This was important while we travelled with small child. Overall I highly recommend this hotel. It has not 5-stars but it deserves 4-stars easily. We spent 3 nights in this nice hotel. Everything worked to our satisfaction. Our only complaint is that internet access is charged with Euro 10 per 24 hours. Consisering the pricelevel of the hotel This should be included.

The most ideal mini break. Wonderful old world hotel, fantastic views from rooftop pool and bar, lakeside pool is a great setting. Very easy to access town centre of Stresa and sights that Lake Maggiore has to offer. Hotel staff could not do enough and room with lakeside fronting was the ideal way to wake up every morning.

This place is amazing! Top notch hotel, roof top patio is like nothing I've ever seen. Breakfast was included and has everything you need. The staff was remarkable. Hotel is a little pricey, but worth every penny.

Great hotel; Room was a little small and dated, but was really nice for the price. Service was excellent and location was right on Lake Maggiori.

From the minute we were greeted at reception until the time we checked out, the staff were outstanding, cheerful, and went out of their way to provide excellent service. We stayed one night at the La Palma in October 2010. Based on what I had read and from looking at the website I had pictured this hotel being similar to an upgrade to an old motel full of older guests. I was way off. The entire property was extremely nice - very elegant. The rooms were the largest we experienced in Italy. The staff was very friendly […] and helpful. The food was delicious including the morning breakfast. This hotel and Stresa in general are all about a "vacation" rather than the site-seeing you do throughout most of the rest of Italy. The lakeside views are wonderful. Stresa is a charming town from the minute you walk out of the train station. There are several other elegant hotels along the lake. The town square is cozy and yet offers plenty to do. We didn't have time to take any tours to the islands, but given the time I definitely would have. It was cool and rainy while we were there, but we still enjoyed stolling along the lake and relaxing at the hotel after a long week of heavy walking through Rome and Florence. I would definitely recommend the La Palma for a visit. I have nothing bad to say at all. It's location is very central. It is a short stroll to everything you need. The walk down the hill from the train station is easy even with luggage. There's really no need to even get a taxi. I hope to go back some day. Devamı

We loved the rooftop deck, and had locally purchased wine there every evening with our travel companions - hotel staff chilled, opened, and delivered it along with wine glasses. They were extremely friendly and helpful during our entire stay. It's in a great location with beautiful views. Rooms and public spaces were elegant & clean, and breakfast was […] very good. Lovely hotel. Wonderful location. Staff very helpful. Buffet breakfast is amazing overlooking the lake. Would go back!

The hotel is a nice classic hotel diesgn with a big lobby and dining area on the first floor, parking in the basement and 6 floors of rooms. The folks at the desk and breakfast were nice and helpful, breakfast service was prompt (although not very cheerful) and the room and view were lovely. The location was across the street from the water which wasn't […] entirely clear from the pictures and map, however the view was mostly unobstucted from the higher floors. Nice hotel just on the lake at Stresa. Adequate parking nearby. The staff were friendly, the room was fine. The location was excellent.

We booked a lake view room. You could just see the lake if you stood on top of the bed and the room was so pokey you could not move about. A premium room for a poor result, pathetic is the word we used. The decor was plastic, bathroom small and all in all a very souring experience. The pool area was OK

Outrageous charges to access the internet from the computer in the bar area!

The hotel is excellent, and I highly recommend it. I have been to Stresa before, and would come back to this particular hotel.

We had 3 rooms booked for our travel party, we all came from different corners of the globe and we all extremely happy with our stay. A nice relaxed but quality service with accommodating staff, a great position, extraordinary views, good breakfast and food. We all left very satisfied with the hotel after a great catch up and a wonderful time.

Olutstanding hotel and a great value in a stunning location, fronting on beautiful Lake Maggiore, and a 5-minute walk from downtown Stresa. Also close to the dock for lake cruises (highly recommended). We loved Stresa partly helped by the excellent week of weather early September. On our arrival we were offered an upgrade at a reasonable rate to a junior suite, which we believe was well worth it. A lovely good sized room and well-equipped bathroom, with spa-bath and separate shower and bidet. Lovely balcony with table chairs and recliners. We did […] not take half-board and Stresa has a wealth of small -good- restaurants to satisfy every cullinery need. The staff were helpful and friendly. Breakfast excellent, if a little busy when the conference crowd arrived. Avoid 9.00 a.m. Only criticisms: Not much of a lounge area, with no entertainments, swimming-pool across the road on the front of the lake; not really a problem. Can highly recommend this hotel. This hotel is right in the middle of Stresa in walking distance to everything in the town. The views of the lake from the rooms were incredible. Staff was friendly and rooms were clean and well maintained. Overall the best place to stay in the area!

A beautiful hotel in a stunning location. All the staff worked hard to deal with any requests. The room (no view, sadly) was well appointed and very comfortable, and the breakfast was ample. We would love to return.

Good facilities; excellent location. Very suitable for us, as an older couple. Very good breakfast buffet.

Hotel La Palma er et meget hyggelig og flott hotell med en meget god beliggenhet. Deilig å slappe av i en jacuzzi på taket av hotellet å se ut over Lago Maggiore. Stort og deilig rom med en fin balkong. Skal du til Logo Maggiore - er Hotel La Palma et godt sted å bo.

Poolen och baren på hotellets tak var världsklass. Vi var där i slutet av september och det var perfekt väder (+25 och sol) och lagom med turister.

Hôtel très bien situé, offrant piscine, et spa et baignade dans le lac. lieu superbe. Accueil agréable. gentillesse et disponibilité des employé(e)s, décor de l'hôtel magnifique, chambre très confortable. un très bon endroit pour passer quelques jours de repos.

Hotel très bien situé face au Lac Majeur. Accueil et service parfaits. Chambres avec balcon vue lac agréables.Petit-déjeuner buffet varié et copieux. Le nec plus ultra la piscine avec bain à bulles sur le toit terrasse de l'hôtel : un panorama inoubliable! A recommander sans problème.

We stayed 3 nights. Our room wes very specious and the view to lake was fantastic. Hotel was very clean and service was excellent. If I ever return to Stresa, I will absolutely choice this hotel again.

Flot ældre hotel med en fantastisk tagterasse med pool. Meget venlig betjening. Ligger lige i centrum ud til søen.

Meget flot hotel, lidt i den gamle stil, men med en super flot indrettet tagterasse med verdensklasse udsigt til søen og øerne og et fedt solbadningsområde med spa pool og tagbar. Wellness område så også ud til at blive superflot, det var dog ikke helt færdigt under vores ophold. Boede der i en uge i juli med to børn - meget vellykket.

Dejligt hotel med en perfekt beliggenhed, tæt på ture med båd til de små øer og tæt¨på centrum med mange restaurenter. Dejlig rent på værelset og flere af tjenerne kunne give et smil! Ærgerligt at deres fitness ikke var åbent. Ok at vi så kunne benytte det på et hotel lige i nærheden og der kunne vi også leje tennisbane. God og varieret morgenmad. Kan […] ikke få meget bedre udsigt fra værelset over søen og der findes en fantastisk tagterasse som desværre ikke var helt åbnet endnu. Devamı

We needed a hotel for three nights as a base camp for part of our vacation to explore the lakes Maggiore, Lugano and Como. We had no clue about Stresa before our trip and just tought taking a hotel from there as it was conviniently located near the highway to Milan and there was easy access to other Italian lakes. Also our trip was going to contiunue […] towards north to Simplon Pass and Switzerland, so again Stresa was conviniently located for that. The surroundings of the hotel were very beautiful. The parks and beach boulevard of Stresa was nice to walk. Hotel staff was very helpful and friendly. We had first a room with door connecting two rooms. The sound proofing of the room was not that good but the reception switched us to another room without connecting door to neibhouring room. Room was simply excellent. Very clean, own balcony with lake view and whirlpool bath. Hotel breakfast was also excellent. Hotel was renovating the roof top terace and there was going to be new "sun deck" and also new steam bath and turkish saunas were being built. We had so much left to see in the three lakes of Maggiore, Lugano and Como, so perhaps we will come back to Streasa next summer. Devamı
