Hesperia Lanzarote - Yaiza

The hotel is very child friendly with a pool that is .4m at the deepest for kids. It has a mini club with very friendly staff. They also kave kids rooms with a little toy at the bottom of the room and they leave in some treats at night and baloon swords etc. Overall very good.

Clean and well appointed hotel 5 minutes walk from the restaurants of Puerto Calero along a paved coastal path. Free WiFi worked well in our room. The island was perfect! Perfect weather, great beaches, great restaurants and great people. The hotel was perfect in every aspects. I have a 2yr old little girl so we chose the kid's room which is full of kids toys and decorated with paintings all over the wall...my girl was so excited to be in the room. There are excellent children's program at the […] hotel where children can get together with a teacher for all sort of fun and games. And in the evening there is the Mini Disco for children in the lobby lounge. Staff was helpful and kind and food at restaurants were great (breakfast buffee is fantastic). The hotel is located in the rather quiet part of the island so if you plan to stay at the hotel and relax, you might want to get the "all inclusive" plan. We love this hotel. It's always quiet and you're guaranteed a relaxing time. I wouldn't choose to stay on half board or all inclusive as the choice of restaurants is limited, also with the Marina only 10 minutes away you have a large choice of other restaurants. We had the most wonderful family break in February. The room was superb for our needs, breakfast was excellent, and the location and grounds were beautiful. The only complaint we had was with the room service one night and the complaint was superbly well dealt with. Great staff and kids club !

Second trip to the Hesperia and won't be our last. The spa is fantastic. The staff are fabulous, super friendly and helpful. They organised a little welcome present as it was my other halfs birthday. I will definitely be back.

The recession is having an effect and therefore this had an impact on the hotel. The quality of food was not great. Staff levels had been cut. The sunbeds and outdoor furniture were cheap and poor quality. You had to leave a 20euro deposit for towels which were threadbare. This hotel is nearer 3.5* rather than 5*.

This hotel is located in a quiet but very nice part of the island. The hotel itself is huge with several swimming pools (one of which was being refurbished while we were there in December). Staff are friendly, as is common at NH hotels, although the check-in process was very slow - around 10 minutes, and we were seen straight away. Otherwise, no complaints […] from this hotel. Loads of on-site parking, great facilities including the spa, and the on-site restaurants are great quality. Breakfast is particularly good. Some annoying touches include things like no kettles in the room. You can rent (yes RENT) a kettle - this should be in the room already and you shouldn't need to ask, let alone PAY for the use of a kettle. Similarly, as with all NH hotels you will be offered lots of opportunity to 'upgrade' your stay - eg pay for the spa (not included) or pay for a better room etc. However all the basics are included in the standard price so you should not feel short changed. We stayed here in winter so the place was half-empty, but I think it's spacious enough not to feel overcrowded even in high season. The rooms were lovely and all the public spaces were nice and clean, and the staff were friendly and charming. The breakfast was fabulous with enough variety to have something different every morning (buffet). The buffet […] dinners were quite good but there wasn't much variety apart from different meats (which were v good) and some variation in the starters (mostly v good too). We walked to the marina most afternoons and it was very nice but we didn't have a chance to see it in the evening (because of our baby daughter's bedtime) but there were loads of bars and restaurants so I'm sure it would have been quite lively. We went to rest and recuperate and accomplished both. Staff were incredibly friendly and personable and we used the spa almost daily. (Massage treatment was world class.) We didn't leave the hotel (!) except to go to the marina (usually for lunches and dinners), a great range of restaurants about a ten minute walk away. The hotel and staff were both excellent. The room was a good size and was cleaned daily. The service from all staff was excellent. We were half board and would pay for full board next time. We had a fantastic holiday.Stayed on a B & B basis and found the breakfast choices and quality to be outstanding.Staff were constantly excellent, and if an issue was raised it was dealt with immediately.The location of the hotel is superb, and there was enough space for everyone to relax in very tranquil surroundings. Organised activities were not intrusive. […] The only criticisms we have are 1. that on arrival we found our room to smell of cigarette smoke, but its location was too good to consider moving, so we persevered. It took about 3-4 days before the smell left, and we felt that the cleaner was the only person who failed to match the otherwise excellent standards set by all other staff.We stayed in B Block on floor 7. 2. there were a number of sunbeds which needed repairing or replacing. Stayed for 5 days in May. Hotel was fab but the area was very quite. Staff were friendly and pool area was very nice, although the pools were freezing cold. Buffet breakfast was the best we have seen in all of our travels.

A comfortable and spacious hotel, with very good beds and friendly helpful staff. The breakfast buffet was exceptional, probably the most comprehensive we have seen anywhere - and of top quality too. Only fault would be the soundproofing of our room, which did leave something to be desired.

This hotel is very clean, staff very friendly and well laid out. The buffet breakfast is excellent and has everything you can think of to eat. The hotel is also a 10 minute walk from the marina which is a big plus, as the marina is beautiful and has lots of lovely restaurants and shops. The rooms lack a good quality flat screen tv with English Sky […] channels, the only channels you can get in English are news channels. We would have liked to watch a good film in the room. The picture quality was not good on the tv. The loaning of the towels to take by the pool also needs to be simplified. You have to pay 20 Euros deposit per towel (very excessive). Pay the deposit at reception, collect towels at Pool bar, take towels back to Pool bar and go back to reception to collect your deposit. Much too complicated, expensive and unnecessary. The whole layout is very nice, lots of seperate swiming pools and loads of sun loungers to choose from. We went B&B as we wanted the flexibility eat elsewhere and there is a marina with several good eating places about 10mins walk along the coastal pathway. We went the first week in Feb so the hotel was only half fuill. Staff were friendly and helpful. The […] only negatives I have are; 1. the cost of the spa facilities 60 euros even if you are a guest to have access to the indoor pool and suana, I think for a 5 star guests should have access to such faciticlies without having to pay extra. 2. Resturant food was quite expensive, we only ate in the pool bar once and the food wasn't very good, (don't order the seafood salad looks like its out of a tin) Otherthan than a very pleasent stay and would recomend it. The Hesperia Hotel is a well looked after hotel in a beautiful location. The staff were all very pleasant and helpful. The breakfast and evening meals we ate in the main restaurant were fantastic - there was so much choice. The bedrooms could be improved by updating the furnishings and fabrics. The bathrooms are very small. There is just enough space between the WC and the bidet to step out of the bath. Came back last week after spending 5 nights at this hotel after 1 week self catering in costa teguise. Was looking forward to a bit of luxury at a 5 star hotel with spa facilities. Firstly didn't bother with spa as when we arrived we found out it was another 60 euros each! infect everything is extra at this hotel. You pay to hire a kette or an ironing […] board! No concierge to meet and greet. real lack of information on hotel facilities. Front of house staff don't seem happy to me. The hotel was quiet and it was totally lacking in atmosphere. Souless. The rooms were dated and bland. Clean yes but a lot of the furniture is chipped and damaged. definitely not 5 star. We moved rooms 3 times. Cockroach in room on bed which we told them about. They said they sorted it. next night a huge one in the bath. So we changed rooms. the room they tried to put us in was depressing, overlooking car park. Shoddy furniture. Moved us again. Most annoying thing is they weren't really bothered. Last room we were in had chip in coffee table. I rang To complain but to be honest gave up and put up with it. Fine if you've got some kids and want a week away. But for couples looking for a bit of pampering I would pay more and try to find a bit of luxury. Also it's out on a limb. You definitely need a car unless you want to stay round pools which are not heated. Even the one they say is heated is freezing. Be warned. No one was in the pools!! I've decided to self cater in future. These supposedly 5 stars are really apart hotels anyway without facilities to make your own drinks. Just loads of rooms built around a main reception block. We arrived at the Hesperia Hotel the day after Boxing Day and stayed for one week. Overall we had a really nice stay. The hotel was a ten minute walk away from the Puerto Calero marina with its bars and restaurants specialising in fish, and a walk in the other direction led onto a cliff path with great views of the coastline and also South to Fuerteventura. […] Access to the road system was very easy and there was plenty of parking space. Our sea view room had a view along the coast with Fuerteventura in the distance. The buffet breakfast was excellent with a varied choice. A few minor drawbacks: there was no heated pool, and at times the reception staff could be rather slow, although really friendly. For New Year the only eating option was a very expensive multiple course dinner on tables not knowing who else would be sitiing on the table, so we went into the local marina village for an excellent meal. Our overall experiance of this Hotel, its locatation, the amenities, costs, cleanliness was a good one so I would recommend this Hotel to other people. The positives were the breakfast (well worth the extra few £$), the cleanliness, the quality of the hotel itself, the location and in our experiance also the customer service (which unlike other people […] who have made reviews we had no problems with). The bar costs weren't too bad either. Its a short 5-10 minute walk away from the main port where there is a good selection of restaurants and a couple of tourist attractions (e.g. yellow submarine and boats to other local island harbours# The negatives include not having coffee/tea/kettle/iron/+ board provided in the room without further extra costs, the outdoor pools not being heated #was even cold with a scuba wetsuit on!# and also the internet/computer service for which is charged at a rediculous 5euro per 1/2 hr.... and its slow too :# Would we go back again to this hotel? Lovely setting convenient for the port, a short walk away. At the time we were there in mid-December however many of the facilities (spa, some restaurants) were closed which was a pity. The outdoor pools are beautiful but very cold at that time of the year.

Very clean and confortable hotel. Drinks were a little pricey but to be expected from a 5* hotel. We had the buffet breakfast included in our stay and it was very impressive with absolutely loads to choose from. The service from the staff however left a little to be desired but if you are happy to wait a while then it really is no problem as they were […] all friendly. We didn't eat in the hotel mainly due to the prices so went to the harbour each evening. There is a direct pathway along the coast from the back of the hotel and takes about 10-15mins to walk which was perfect. Prices for dinner and drinks at the harbour were reasonable and sometimes better than back home and there was plenty to choose from. Firstly the feedback form from the hotel expired before we were able to respond. The suite we had was comfortable and clean. No hanging space for dresses in the wardrobe and insufficient hangers. The air conditioning was not as efficient as we would have liked. The bathroom was spacious, clean and well equipped. The turn down service was sporadic. The […] television is in need of an upgrade to Lcd. The staff were friendly and helpful. There was a good and plentiful variety of foods for breakfast but all of the toasters need replacing! The pool areas were clean but again the poolside service was sporadic. The hotel has gym and spa facilities, at extra cost, but we did not use them on this occasion. Many guests took part in the daily aquarobics, at midday, to the sound of extremely loud music! Although the hotel had 4 restaurants we did not take advantage of them but we walked along a pleasant walkway to the nearby marina where there was a good choice of restaurants, and a well stocked supermarket. Varied entertainment was provided at the hotel every evening. A shuttle bus to the nearest town, Puerto del Carmen, would be most useful. Devamı

The hotel is spacious, gracious and elegant. There is a feeling of quiet sophistication and a clean whiteness in the outside spaces, dotted with beautiful shrubs and trees. Our suite was exquisitely positioned and luxuriously appointed. All the staff were helpful and polite and we felt utterly relaxed and indulged whilst there. Breakfast consisted of a superb buffet choice of just about anything you cared to imagine. A valiant but failed attempt at trying to be a 5 star hotel. The location and infrastructure is there but the level of service was woefully inconsistent. The meals at the buffet restaurant were ample and varied, but horribly overpriced compared to restaurants a few minutes walk away. There was a hard sell to purchase additional evening meals when we […] arrived (We were on half board--breakfast only) and we were very disappointed we had once we saw the options, including a Michelen Guide recommended restaurant at lower cost than the buffet a short walk away in the port area. Breakfast was a fight between the hotel fed cats and birds vying for any scrap dropped from the table, a bit disconcerting (and I love cats) Maid service was also inconsistent (our trash can was not emptied regularly) and even though we had paid for 3 persons in the room we had to request a third set of towels most days. Timing was irregular so we never knew when to expect service--even after requesting 13:00 on a daily basis. The maids themselves were very nice, but I had the feeling they, like the rest of the staff, were horribly overworked and had too much to deal with. Internet was very sketchy the first few days but settled down and was good the latter half of the week. While our family WILL return to the Canary Islands we will not return to this particular hotel for the above reasons. Devamı

A relaxing & pleasant stay at a good quality hotel. Manage your expectations, 5* in Spain is not Claridges or The Dorchester. The hotel is well laid out for those without mobility problems. Situated on a hillside sloping down to the beach the facilities are on three levels with a free form pool on each. Ideal for a lazy holiday there are plenty of activities […] for all ages, pools, gym, spa, & wellness centre. (The 'Animation Team' were a little enthusiastic!!) The buffet breakfast had the widest of choices and would please every taste. We didn't try the restaurants in the evening as the marina in Puerto Calero (which was a short walk) offered so much choice. The staff were very helpful, polite and eager to please. The rooms were excellent, we were upgraded to a suite with full facilities including a (huge) jacuzzi and double queen sized beds. The housekeeping staff were very efficient albeit they sometimes didn't service the rooms until late in the afternoon. A turndown service each evening with chocolates was a special little extra. The location of the hotel is excellent with a very pleasant 10-minute walk to the marina where there are many restaurants and bars which are better value and better food than at the hotel. It is a good hotel but not 5-star.They seem to be economising on details such as very tatty pool towels which need replacing. The sunbeds are quite uncomfortable […] as most of them are torn and broken. There are no bathrobes and the toiletries in the bathroom are or poor quality and minimal. There is no information in the rooms regarding the sound system or how the safe worked or any information on the facilities in the hotel. In most 5-star hotels, you would expect a porter to take your luggage to the room and point out how everything worked. Here, the reception staff just told you how to find your own room. There is good entertainment in the lobby bar most evenings and the bar staff are good. The food at lunch time at both the pool bar and the beach bar is very poor quality so that we walked into the marina at lunch time.. The breakfast is excellent. We would definitely go back to this hotel but would hope that they have attended to some of the very obvious problems and those which most people complained about. Devamı
