Homewood Suites by Hilton San Diego - Del Mar - San Diego

Everything great, even the late night service of the manager. My only problem was that the room available from Hotels.com was a little small for a rollaway to fit in it

We needed a place where we could cook our own food, but we ended up not making anything with the full breakfast and then the free dinner! The room was immaculate and quiet. It was close to LaJolla where our activities were.

This was the second Homewood suites we have stayed at and the standard remains very high. The beds were comfortable and a little more space than your average motel room. The neighbourhood is quiet and feels safe and many major attractions are only a short drive away. Whilst it is right beside a major freeway, it is situated well above it and there is […] no noise apparent from the highway, yet it is very easy to jump on to the highway. All the staff at the hotel were very friendly and helpful. The morning breakfast area was very crowded, but I think the hotel may have been close to full when we were there, so that is to be expected. That being said, the range a quality of the breakfast was good, and there was something to satisfy each person in our family of 5. The Welcome home reception (Monday to Thursday) is also a nice touch and adds value to any rooms booked during these evenings. Excellent value for money for this area. Devamı

Our family visited Legoland, USS Midway, SD Zoo and this hotel is conveniently located from all these attractions (within 20 mins from each venue). Breakfast was mostly the same eggs and bacon/sausage but we truly enjoyed the evening reception Mon thru Thurs (BBQ/Swedish Meatballs/Enchinladas). Our only disappointment is the lack of a bathtub in our […] rooms to soak our feet after the long walks but there is a hot tube in the common area by the outside pool. It was under renovation, but.. everything was excellent!

Our stay at the Hotel was great. It was very convenient to all of San Diego. The staff at the hotel was very helpful. Great part was the breakfast in the morning & dinner in the evening - free. Also, free parking & the internet. The cleaning staff was excellent along with the rooms. Would definitely stay there again

I am a business traveler - in fact, a commuter who needs to stay in a hotel four days a week. This place is perfect on a number of levels - size and configuration of room, location, and more. Also, its not too expensive.

All was well. The room is small and kind of dark but has kitchette and all you would need for a comfortable stay. Good breakfast in am.

Great staff, surprisingly good breakfast buffet with hot food. I had a room that almost directly overlooked the pool. I knew there were people in the pool (my nephews) making noise before I went up to bed, and I was surprised to hear nothing when I went to my room. Walls are sufficiently thick! Great rooms for kids. I would stay again.

Hotel was nice and clean. We went to Sea World with the kids 2 of the 3 days we stayed at the hotel. The pool is small but was clean as well. Only went into the pool one time due to weather related issues. The availabilties of snacks were nice and the hotel had a nice snack area near the front desk. The nicest part about this hotel was the complimentary […] breakfast in the morning. We have 5 people in our family and it was plenty. We actually made homemade waffles in the morning and the kids thought it was fun.It was a little spendy but definetly worth it. Devamı

Great hotel... Breakfast was good... Room was great... It was like being in a miny apartment... With its own kitchen and living room...

We appreciated the friendly and helpful staff, the breakfast each morning was a great treat. Our room was clean, the pool and hot tub were great. We would definitly stay again.

My daughter and I stayed at this Homewood Suites in Delmar looking for a place to stay overnight on the way to San Diego. It was perfect for us - right off the freeway, quiet, with a door between the bedroom and living area. We spent one night at this hotel in between visits to Legoland and SeaWorld. Good location off freeway, easy to find. Hotel reception is bright & modern, not glamorous or fancy but new and clean. Rooms have fully equipped kitchen with refrigerator, microwave, 2 ring cooktop, toaster, coffee-maker and dishes and silverware for 4 people, small dining […] table with 2 chairs, sleeper sofa, flat screen TV in living area, TV in bedroom, desk & chair. We were traveling with 2 preschool aged children and room had more than we needed - we would have to stay a week to use everything in the room! And on top of all of this there's a complimentary breakfast every morning in the restaurant. Overall, very impressed with this Homewood Suites and will look for them in other cities as they are perfect for a family traveling with young kids. Even though it's part of the Hilton group there was free parking and free internet. My husband didn't feel like he was being nickled & dimed everytime he turned around, which is how he feels at the big convention hotels or resorts when he travels for business. Devamı

Both Norma's and Adrian served wonderful meals. Jose Carlos made sure our BBQ was successful. Kirsten made sure our room had a pool view. Everyone was friendly and helpful.

Hotel was very quiet, room service was great, there was not many restaurants to choose from that were close by. Breakfast could be better.

I stayed for one night. Everything clean. Breakfast was included and service was flawless.

Very clean, well organized, great food and greater service by all.Breakfast had many offerings to choose from. Dinner was good also. Would of liked to have bread at dinner and something sweet for dessert would have topped off the meals. The room was quite large and was able to take care of our family.Added bonus was having 2 TVs.

Pleasant stay - we had a family with young children directly above us and you could hear every jump they did. Other then that this was a no frills stay. Even the TV's were old and not the flat screen type.

Our first time in San Diego. We went to the zoo, wild animal park, sea world, and the gaslamp district. We stayed in a one bedroom suite. It was nice to have our bedroom separate from the living room, so that we could put our baby to bed in the living room and then watch tv in the other room. The hotel is within about 20 minutes from most anything. […] Just a few minutes from Del Mar beach, a shopping center, a grocery store. Our room shared a wall with the elevator but we never heard it. We loved that they not only had a great breakfast every morning, but they also had dinner 5p-7p Mon-Thurs. Great for travelers on a budget or a baby with an earlier bedtime. Quick note: the pool isn't heated (at least, it wasn't when we were there in late May). You probably won't be able to get downtown during rush-hour traffic times (around 5pm). Not a big deal for us though. Maybe next time we'd stay somewhere closer to the city. Devamı

It's been a couple of years since we have stayed at this hotel. Definately needs a facelift. New carpet but tile grout in the bathroom was disgusting. The cabinets in the kitchen and bathroom were water stained. Other than that it was fine. The first morning, we could barely get breakfast because it was so full. The workers couldn't keep up. This is a probably a great hotel for the business traveller, because it was large, clean and had a kitchen and work area. The bathroom was clean, but not special. The breakfast was delicious with a lot of variety and the price was right.

We stayed here for three nights. Super comfortable, outstanding amenities, lot's of free snacks & beverages, excellent location, very nice service. Highly recommended.

When I first reserved the hotel I didn't realize what they meant by a Suite with kitchen amenities... When we first arrived, the lobby and hotel made me feel a little unease as I had spent $$$ per night and this hotel was located far away from San Diego and there wasn't much around the location. But than we first arrived in our run, we were speechless. […] 1 Bedroom Suite with all kitchenette accessories including Fridge, Microwave, Stove, Sink, Pots & Pans and Dishwasher. This was basically a apartment. 2 Flat screen Tv(s), King size Bed and Bathroom. This was probably the best hotel I ever stayed at; Don't get me wrong this is still a small hotel with mostly business travelers staying in but this is a must stay place near San Diego. To top it off free breakfast with Scrambled eggs, hash brown, multiple type of cereal, milk, juice (orange & apple), muffin, toasted bread, different meat orders, oatmeal, waffle & much more....same thing goes for dinner obvious with dinner products. Some minor issues was there was a small warm in the bathroom and some stains on the carpet but otherwise everything was neat and clean plus free parking! Devamı

My husband, teen daughter, and I stayed at this hotel for three nights. We had a one BR suite. Great having a mini-kitchen so we could keep snacks in the fridge and have a microwave to use. They had a stove/oven but we didn't use (too many awesome restaurants in the area to try!) The area the hotel is in is mostly office buildings, etc. (no trendy shopping […] area or hip entertainment) but still seemed like a fairly central location as it wasn't more than 20 minutes from anything we did....convention center, downtown, beaches, La Jolla and Del Mar Beach areas,etc. Parking was free which is always nice. We really enjoyed our stay at the hotel. Rooms were very clean and the bed was very comfortable. We enjoyed the hot tub and the pool was heated. We actually swam at night. The complimentary breakfast was more than we expected.

We stayed for 5 nights and was very pleased with it. Staff were very helpful. Breakfast was very nice and provide healthy choices. Staff were really meticulous about keeping the breakfast buffet area clean. I appreciate that very much. We were always late for the eve reception, so can't comment on that. They also provide a shuttle on Mon-Fri for anywhere […] within 5 miles radius from the hotel. We are a family of three and the one bedroom suite can be a bit too crowded. Will opted to stay in a bigger room for next time. The location is within 15-20 min of everything (Seaworld, La Jolla, SD Zoo, Gaslamp quarter) Overall we are very please with our stay. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. Our family consisted of 2 adults and 4 children and the beds were very comfortable and the suites were spacious and inviting. The staff was so personable and friendly and the meals were superb. The only problem we faced was the laundry room dryers need some upkeep. We had to dry our loads 2 - 3 times. This was the second time I stayed at a Homewood Suites and once again very pleased. My first stay was at the Biltmore area in Phoenix,Az.. I was so impressed with the helpful staff,cleanliness and comfort of the room, and you can't beat the nice breakfast spread and Mon-Thursday evening dinner. I'll never stay anywhere else.

Front desk people weren't very bright. Didn't even have us park on the right side of the hotel relative to our room location. The one bedroom suite was small compared to other similar rooms we stayed in on this trip. The sofabed was not of a very good quality, as you could feel the bars. You had to go into the bedroom to use the bathroom, which didn't […] give you privacy in the bedroom. One ice machine in the whole place, near the front desk. The lobby was quiet and CLEAN. Our room was super clean as well. The bed was very comfortable (although I cannot say the same for the sofa bed where my kids slept) the sofa bed mattress needs to be replaced. The best part was the breakfast (buffet style). There was a bad smell coming from the bathroom sink, but did not come from the shower. There was also red droplets on the carpet from the bed to the bathroom. Housekeeping did not replenish bath towels and toiletrees on the last night we spent there. The fitness room was very small and the equipment were sticky and creaked. This is an awesome hotel... Room is a little on the small side for a 1 bedroom suite but very clean and well maintained. Was there for business but had the family with me since we were already on vacation in the area. I have 4 small children so the room was very tight for us. Room does have a kitchen with all the necessary amenities. The complimentary […] breakfast is great and has a complimentary dinner Monday through Thursday nights which some nights is very good. A relaxed athmosphere, with a great breakfast. No overcharge surprises. Immediate replacement of a desk lamp by maintenance when called. A short walk to the Garden Inn, next door, provided an outstanding restaurant and happy hour. I would stay there again.

NEIGHBORHOOD The Homewood Suite is located right off of I-5 and is in a quiet neighborhood in Del Mar. I went to Southern California for a vacation to visit the theme parks and such, and stayed at a hotel near a freeway and at a reasonable distance from the popular theme parks. There was a storm that recently hit the area and the South I-5 ramp was […] closed for a few days due to flooding which was a slight inconvenience, but the detour was not far. HOTEL & STAFF The hotel staff were extremely courteous and nice. I had asked to exchange my first room because it was in front of the Guest Laundry room, and I was switched to another room without any further questions or problems. Speaking of the laundry room, it costs a dollar (in quarters) for the washer and an additional dollar for the dryer. You will need to provide your own soap and fabric softener. The complementary breakfast was satisfactory for it's purpose and contain the typical scramble eggs, cereal, bread, and self-serve waffle menu. My clothes smelled like vegetable oil after in the dinner lobby. There is plenty of parking, decently spaced, and is free. ROOM The room was cozy and clean. The towels, pillows, and bed sheet had no strange stains or smell and appeared washed and clean. I had no problems with the AC/Heater. The TV had some local channels: ESPN, Cartoon Network, and Nickelodeon, news. There's free Wi-Fi and web access which was nice for when I was looking up restaurants near the hotel. The kitchen area was nice for me to cook a late night snack or reheat left overs, and the refrigerator was a decent size to allow me to put in grocery food and drinks. Devamı

nice hotel for checking into after a full day, rooms were clean and the staff freindly, breakfast was good in the morning, but no evening service / food / drink etc. CP

We were very pleased with the hotel; it was quiet, warm, and cozy. Hotel employees were friendly and helpful. Our room was clean and comfortable. Our room dining area was a bit small but we managed. Our children really enjoyed the spacious bedroom. We would definitely stay here again.

My husband I stayed at the hotel for 5 nights. The service was great. The people were friendly and helpful. It was in a very nice area of San Diego. The breakfast was nice. They served a breakfast buffet everyday. It was nice to not just have cereal or a bagel. The dinner during the week was nice as well. We loved the full fridge and kitchen. We throughly enjoyed our stay . We loved the roominess of the suite, the confortable bed, and the overall ombiance of the hotel. We plan to return several times a year at least.
