Rodeway Inn Memphis - Memphis

We stayed 2 days in a very comfortable room at "Rodeway Inn" Memphis. It was so close to everything, and the staff was great! They helped with directions and was very savvy about all happenings in Memphis. I can"t wait to stay there again!

My hubby and I needed to stay in a hotel for a week in Memphis, which we were afraid would be extremely costly. We stayed at the Rodeway Inn for a very reasonable price. The parking lot is open, so if you're concerned […] about security, then you may want a hotel with a covered garage; however, there were plenty of security cameras around and the neighborhood was not that bad. If you don't mind staying in a cheap hotel next to the ghetto/hood, this place is for you. The place is actually really clean and kept up inside and out. It's just located in a bad area.

Pros: Clean, spacious, comfortable room for a great price. The service staff was friendly and helpful. Beale St. was only 2 miles away (a $10 cab ride), and we walked to Sun Studio, which is only 1 mile away. Cons: Some suspect people hanging around down the street; sometimes walking past the hotel (although there are security cameras surrounding the […] hotel grounds). Neighborhood appears a bit rundown, but we didn't have any security problems. There was a pest control service called on the day we left (not sure for what), but our room was perfectly pest free. This hotel offers very suitable accommodations for a reasonable price. I highly recommend staying at the Roadway Inn on your trip to Memphis! Devamı

The neighborhood was scary. Saw a car being robbed in the parking lot. Rooms are clean but out of date.

This is one of the cleanest, nicest smelling hotel rooms I have ever stayed in. great room and breakfast. close to Beale. thank for a nice stay.

No breakfast served. Hotel was in a very questionable neighborhood. The room, however, was very nice and comfortable.

I only had one night in Memphis and not a lot of time...I wished I could have gotten something closer to downtown, but had to take what I could get at the last minute. HOWEVER, I was pleasantly surprised at how easy of a drive to downtown it was and the desk clerk, upon check in, gave me great ideas on what I needed to see and do while there on my short […] stay.....while he was given me ideas, he was also printing out maps for me! Gave me great directions, where to go safely (being a woman travelling alone this is important) and where to avoid...including a map with available parking lots! I was very impressed with this hospitality here. But fair warning, when you first arrive, it does seem like you are in a rougher neighborhood and the hotel might be a bit run down....but the room was clean and spacious! As I could not afford a taxy from the airport, the hotel employee gave me a free ride from the airport to the hotel. As usually seen at many hotels, there was a problem with the shower.

This is my 2nd time staying here, rooms are bigger than expected. Very comfortable, would stay here again. Highly Recommeneded.

For the price that I paid, I was pleasantly surprised to find such a clean spacious room with all the amenities I could want. The continental breakfast was also more than adequate with hot sausage gravy and biscuits and fresh waffles. Nice-clean --BIG ROOM. A GREAT DEAL!

The room was quite spacious and in reasonably good conditions. Downtown Memphis is about a 30 minute walk or a less than $10 cab ride.

The cost was fine, but the location was not the best. The parking area was very small. There was NO elevator, but it was a 3 tory building. The clerk was on the phone for over an hour and never returned our call for directions.

The owners were very consciences and obviously cared very much for the establishment and worked very hard. The room was very clean, the breakfast surprised me. The space for the continental breakfast was limited but the breakfast selection was very good and my family was pleased with breakfast. I will stay there again.

For once, the reviews on this hotel were consistent and accurate. Relatively low cost but spacious rooms, great a/c (and needed in the Memphis August), fridge and microwave in the room, comfy beds and convenient to many Memphis sites although tucked away on a side street in one of the less affluent Memphis neighborhoods. My stay was fine, it was quiet, clean and comfortable. The room was clean with microwave, small fridge, iron and ironing board. Very spacious. For the price it was great, three of us in a room, two queen size beds and a pull out sofa. Great air since it was 100 degrees outside. About 6 miles or so from Beale street. Two queen beds and a sleeper sofa is great for groups traveling. Rooms and property is very clean. It was also very nice to have a room where you can actually move around, in other words the rooms are very large.

Cheap, close to Beale St (1 mile), ice cold AC, HUGE rooms, SUPER clean! And they're nice. it's such a great deal! I wish I stayed there both nights instead of overpaying to go to Heartbreak Hotel.

The location of the hotel is in an offbeat neighborhood, but is still convenient to downtown. The exterior of the hotel is not in the best shape, however, our room was clean and comfortable at a reasonable price.

We enjoy stayin there and we would stay there again when we come back to Memphis and I will tell people to get a room there because the room was clean and good and cool and the young man at the desk was very nice and friendly.

After reading many reviews and scoping out the map, this IS the very best location to be for access to all Memphis attractions. On the accomodation side .. the room was large, clean and well appointed. Extremely clean, comfortable bed, nice linens and wonderful pillows. The bathroom was very clean and had large snow white towels. The breakfast was decent, […] considering the Low price for the room, Internet works well, they even kept the Ac on so it was cold when we got into room. This was a very well maintained hotel. The staff was pleasant and efficient. For the closest hotel to Beale St. at a reasonable price... stay here. Staff at this hotel was warm and polite, Their friendliness seemed quite sincere and not put on. You can sense they care about their guests. First impression is...what have we gotten into. However, for the price the rooms are very large and included a refrigerator and microwave. The sofa bed was a bonus. It's amazing the way they set up the continental breakfast in their tiny lobby. Definately would say there again.

VERY large rooms! I had a room with 2 queen and a couch that folded out. The rooms have all been recently renovated so they are very nice on the inside. We went this hotel due to the review on Hotel.com visiting Graceland....the hotel was clean, big, perfect for our one night stay in Memphis. I am big clean rooms and this room was clean. Not fancy, but clean...Pay the extra few bucks and stay here. Very nice people at the front desk.

I read the reviews of this hotel, and they were very accurate. I was looking for an inexpensive hotel near downtown. To find something this inexpensive per night you generally have to stay much further away from downtown. Other reviews accurately stated that this hotel was clean and the rooms were large, but that the hotel was not in a very good part […] of town. The reviews led to me choosing this hotel. We arrived after midnight on a rainy night, and when we pulled up, we thought the area wasn't that good, and we initially considered staying there just one night and then leaving. The hotel is near a hospital and a parking garage. The management was very friendly and were helpful in trying to help us find food to order even though it was almost 2 a.m. Parking was near the street, so we didn't want to leave anything in the car. It was when we got to the room that we were pleasantly surprised. This is an older hotel which has been refurbished. The furnishings and carpeting were very new and clean. It was obvious that the management had gone through a great deal of effort to repaint everything so it would be clean and fresh, and I commend them for that. The room was very large- way more than enough space. The bed was comfortable and there was a pull out couch that we didn't use but it was good to have it had we needed it. There was also a microwave, small fridge, and coffee maker, as well as a small kitchen table and chairs- what more could you want? The bathroom was also clean and everything worked. The hotel was quiet and we had no issues with being woken up by anyone. The air conditioning worked well. The hotel was only about 10 minutes from downtown using local streets. Memphis is not a well off city, and many areas are a bit run down. However I never felt unsafe at any time. AS per other reviews the first impression you get when you enter in room is "WOW" gigantic rooms and let me emphasis on cleanliness!!!! It was the cleanest room I had stayed in any motel room with all good amenities and again spotless dustless sing and bathtub. Close to many attraction memphis has to offer and management was top of everything. Like all the reviews said, it looks bad on the outside and in a bad area. But, the rooms are big, the location is centrally located, and the staff is extremely helpful. We had issues with the Wi-Fi and never could get it working but the manager did try (he even came up with his computer and tried to get it to work). Conveniently located a short drive to the Memphis Zoo, Beale Street, and a tad more to Graceland. The hotel room was a nice size. The length of the room made it a little cold. Didn't know before-hand what type of television we would have, but got a big screen HD, so that was nice to hook the X-Box up to; it is capable. We were a little concerned about the neighborhood when we drove up. When we got to the room, we were blown away by the size of it. Not only was it huge, but everything in it (furniture, carpet) seemed to be brand new. We had some noisy neighbors the first night, but after that, all was quiet for the rest of our stay. at first the internet connection did not work. the fellow at the desk went out of his way to bring us on line. after a couple of trys he replaced the router with one of his own and we had a good internet connection. room was clean, breakfast was small but filled the void. area was very well lit and seemed safe for a down town.

I read some people saying the neighborhood was bad, but from what I saw it looked like an average Memphis neighborhood. I've been out after dark in far worse places. From prior research, I knew we weren't staying in the most desirable neighborhood in Memphis, but this place was everything I could have wanted from a hotel. Security seemed like it might be an issue at first, but there is a lot of hospital security that cruises the area. Good location, by car just a few minutes to Beale Street. Motel is very clean, front desk staff is not too friendly (I dared to ask for more orange juice at breakfast) and called a few minuntes after check out time to leave the room. Especially in this economy when budget is tight you can get everything which "BIG" hotel does not offer, From M/w to fridge, coffee maker iron iron board Hair dryer and LARGE spacious room which is conspicously CLEAN. no dust no hair not even in any corner, and AC was on well in advance when we got in room it was cold. and […] its perfect location to visit most of the memphis has to offer, about security whole memphis seems to be like that so we did not worry about that but next door hospital security runs on the same street and I saw their car with security lights on too when we came back from Beale st at 2 AM. Breakfast was also good enough compa re too other ecomony hotels. And ya Parking was free and Frond desk clerk was awesome even they help us to carry our luggage to the room. At first glance this motel is so so. Kinda sketchy neighborhood but we felt safe because their were survailence cameras and signs posted. the hotel isn't in the best neighborhood but we had no problems while staying there. we were worried about the car bring broken into or our trailer being stolen off the car, but there are bright lights on in the parking lot throughout the night. the rooms are huge, very spacious, and comfortable. drinks are available at the front desk for $1. graceland […] is super easy and convenient to get to. we chose the hotel for its cheap rate and that it allows pets, since we had our cat with us. it's supposed to be a $15 charge (compared to $75+ charges elsewhere) but we were never charged. overall, great place for a quick stop on a roadtrip, especially if you have a pet with you.
