Towers and massive tourist draws dominate Tampa’s waterfront. This area includes the convention center, cruise ship terminals, St. Pete Times Forum, The Florida Aquarium, and the Channelside Bay Plaza entertainment district. Across the palm-lined Hillsborough River, University of Tampa’s Moorish architecture sits in contrast of modern downtown. Nearby, historic Ybor City is Tampa’s Latin Quarter.

The hotel itself was very nice. Parking was hard to come by and the neighborhood didn't look too safe late at night.
"Decent but expensive"
I've stayed here multiple times. Its a great hotel if you must stay in Ybor City. Comparatively expensive to others outside of Ybor. Decent, helpful staff. Breakfast was only so-so, dry eggs and sausage and under cooked potatoes.

If you wan't to visit Ybor City, you can't find a place much better than this. The rooms were big and clean and comfy, especially when you consider the price.

I stayed there for 2 nights, as I took the Fl Bar exam. Location was less than 10minutes from the Convention center. Rates were decent, but I am sure are better normally, considering the inflation due to Bar takers. Great staff. I love to always come to this particular Hampton Inn. The beds are soooooooooooooo soft and everything is always so clean and neat. I look forward to revisiting once again!

Great location but a bit run down for what I expect from a Hampton Inn. It's about a block away from where all of the tourist shops and bars are in Ybor city, but there were definitely new empty beer cans and bottle being picked up every time we walked by the hotel from all the bums that hang around in the neighborhood. There were only 3 machines in […] the fitness room and one of them was out of order. I suspect it has been for some time. This hotel was not well kept up. "The Hampton Inn and Suites Tampa"
My husband and I were very pleased with this hotel.We were taking a cruise and found it very convenient to get to our cruise in a very short time.A shuttle service is provided by the hotel.We enjoyed our walk around the area and didn't need to go far to find a restaraunt for supper and do a bit of shopping.We also had a nice trolley ride which took […] us around the Port area.I can't remember the street,but if you ask the hotel staff i'm sure they will tell you where to go. Everything about this hotel was great except the breakfest. Both mornings they ran out of something and the excuse was given they were booked up both nights and did not have enough. Great location, clean and friendly staff.

"Disgusting"
I booked this room for a client & she had to move hotels to the nearby Sheraton because there were no non smoking rooms free. I booked a non smoking room but they gave it to someone else. Never again Hampton Inn.

"Nice hotel in the middle of a rundown area"
This is a nice hotel in the middle of a so-so area. Not much to do in this area of town. I came in on Sunday after Thanksgiving for 2 days and the streets were empty. We walked down the street and we saw some creepy looking panhandlers near the Ybor City city centre. This is a historic part of Tampa, but it still needs some revitalization to be a desirable […] area to stay and do things. You are better off staying across the Bay in St. Pete and pay a visit to this area one afternoon to see the historic buildings and eat a cuban sandwich. Devamı
"Pleasantly Surprised"
This was our first stay in Ybor and we were very pleased. The rooms were comfy and quiet. Free internet and a lovely breakfast. Staff were more than helpful and friendly. We did not use the pool because of the weather but it was clean and private. I would recommend this to any family it is closes to the Carnival Terminal and they offer a free shuttle […] service down. A great value in a cool area! Hot breakfast every day, free shuttles to and from the Convention Center, proximity to great restaurants, and friendly staff made this a great experience. My room, fitness facility, and lobby were clean, too.

Stayed here for a conference. After reading the other reviews, I was worried, but when I arrived at the hotel, my fears were alleviated. The room was very nice, the staff extremely accommodating, and the hotel had several surrounding restaurants. The hospital has a shuttle that gives transportation for a 3 mile radius. "Not Happy with Hampton"
I complained to the manager that his front desk people were issuing my room keys to people that were not part of my reservation. And not under my account. I was not impressed with the cleanliness of the hotel room as only the bed was made and the towels were changed. The hotel is located in the ghetto. 2 blocks away is the ghetto. Hotel was very clean, has a shuttle to the Tampa Port and can park your car at the Hotel a lot cheaper than you can the port. I will stay here again on our next cruise.

We had a great stay at this hotel, Was very clean, Well maintaned and there was lots of shoping and restraunts in walking distance. It is a strait shot 1 mile to the cruise terminal that you can see from a south side hotel room witch we had. The staff at this hotel are great. Very considerate and attentive. We had a problem with hot water in our room, and they were very diligent in working it out. Shuttle service is very helpful. Only downer - parking garage is a little small and the lot across the street looks a little sketchy.

The only down side I found at this hotel was that the pool was a little dirty, and the gym only had 3 things that you could use. Besides that the staff was extremely helpful, and gave us tons of flyers on request of food that delivers to the room. And my min frig that is in the room is much bigger than I normally get ion a hotel. We were very satisfied with this hotel. The price was good and the location was 1 mile from the port. They have a free shuttle and you can leave your vehicle there for 7.00 per day. The room was very clean and comfortable. There are train tracks about 1 block away but no train horns at night. The free wi fi was a little slow but adequate. It is right […] at the edge of Ybor City. We felt completely safe walking outside as long as you stay in Ybor. The neighborhood outside of Ybor was a bit rough. "Ignore any negative comments"
We stayed here for a concert at St Pete Times Forum. Got free shuttle there. Staff was friendly, room was very clean, beds were very comfortable! Very convenient to Ybor city. Would definately stay again. I have stayed in much more expensive places and did not get half the quality of the stay I got here! Was not real happy about the $8 parking...but […] you have to pay anywhere you are in Ybor and I felt confident leaving my car in that covered garage and didn't worry about it. Highly reccomended. Good standard hotel in the historic district of Tampa. Good amenities and friendly and helpful shuttle service that will take you anywhere within 3 miles of the hotel. However, if you need to travel further than that then you really need a car. The element that let the hotel down was the quality of service. The staff often came across as rude and were […] not well informed or helpful when it came to aspects such as taxis or public transport. Overall, there is not that much to do in Tampa and I would not recommend it for any younger groups looking for a fun holiday. My family took a overnight trip to Ybor to enjoy the night life. the hotel was perfect for that. Walking distances to everything we wanted to do. Staff was wonderful. My daughter left her pillow there. the hotel staff called us to tell us we left something in the room and it would be waiting for us to pick it up. Will stay again when we plan on an other […] over night stay in Ybor. Even though the surrounding area has a bad rating for trouble. I felt safe and comfortable walking the streets to the bars and parking my car in there garage. the whole stay was very relaing and enjoyable. Will stay there again it was perfect. Devamı

The cab ride to and from the airport is a $25.00 flat rate!!!! each way. I was a bit surprised at the neighborhood just outside of Ybor and the hotel. Although I walked to a destination in the afternoon that was about a half mile from the hotel, I would not do it again. Overall the hotel is a good value...except for the cab ride. I've stayed here twice in the last month with my BF and we haven't had any complaints. Staff at the front desk is the best and always look to accomidate us as needed. The staff here are amazingly nice and courteous. We had a wonderful time in Ybor city and this hotel was right on the corner to everything. We walked everywhere and hadn't spend a single dime for cabs. Their shuttle will take you all around town as well.
