Ancient House Resort - Hoi An

The hotel is very nice, big rooms and a nice pool. The staff are friendly and the setting of the hotel is nice. I think people have made negative coments about the location of the hotel but it is great. From the reviews I thought it was going to be in the middle of no where. We walked to town and also cycled to town and the beach we never used the shuttle. […] I thought the breakfast was the best of all my trip in Vietnam. We got fruit every day which was really good. Lovely hotel. Bed was very hard which made for not a very good nights sleep. Enjoyed fresh fruit in the room and the cold towels when arriving back from an excursion.

Great hotel, would recommend. Clean rooms, friendly staff, great pool. There were only 2 'issues': We were on the 4th level and the water would sometimes lose pressure and we would call reception. This happened frequently. Don't expect a great gym :) But overall it was a very comfortable and relaxing hotel. Would stay again. Although a little out of the way from central Hoi An, Ancient House is an excellent choice for exploring the local area. The rooms are of an excellent standard, large, airy and with a shuttered balcony overlooking the complex. Our room had a very comfortable four poster bed with mosquito net and was well stocked with clean towels, linen and presented […] to a very clean standard. The safe was confusing to in its instructions (we had to call reception to reset it) The bathroom was large and well appointed aside with a large stone tub. A slight annoyance personally would be the fact that there wasn't a fixed shower head. The breakfast was vast in its choice, with a chef on hand to cook omelettes or pho to order! The staff are the real stars of this hotel, nothing less than polite, helpful and accommodating, even with my odd request to watch a Vietnamese football game 50km down the road! Wouldn't hesitate to stay again when I'm next in Hoi An! Devamı

The rooms are clean and spacious, but the walls/doors are very thin - children were playing in and around the pool late one evening and I'm sure every guest could hear them as clearly as we could. It's a good 15 minute walk into the centre, there is a shuttle bus laid on by the hotel but it's infrequent. A perfectly good hotel but a little charmless […] and far out. If returning I would opt for a cheaper, more central hotel. Devamı

We stayed here in Nov 2011 for 5 nights and thoroughly enjoyed our time here. The rooms are nicely decorated with traditional furniture. Daily plate of fruits was provided in the room. Breakfast was pretty good with a good variety of western style foods and traditional asian foods. The hotel is 1.5km away from the main town centre. There were plenty […] of bikes to hire from the hotel for free to ride to town or a shuttle bus is also available running between the town, hotel & the beach. The hotel grounds has lots of greenery around it and hence at night will notice more bugs and other flying insects around, sometimes in the room. However there is a fly net around the bed. The bed is a little hard but you can get used to it. The bathroom is clean & spacious but not that exciting. It has a shower head over a tub. Overall we enjoyed our stay here. Devamı

Last time I was in Hoi An I stayed at the newer version of this hotel, Ancient House River Resort. so when I arrived the second time I thought I had reserved the same one. I realized I made a mistake in reserving (the names being so similar) but it turned out to be as wonderful an experience as the first time. I stayed here 2 nights with my mother […] and it was simply a perfect stay. The rooms are very clean, the hotel is perfectly located, walking distance to Hoi An's center. You can also get free bicycles to go into town or to the beach and the hotel has a beach reserved for its guests. THe staff were all adorable and helpful and the breakfasts were excellent with a wide-range of choices. We loved our stay and I would never hesitate to reccomend this hotel. Devamı

Very nice facility, with good service, a pool, and an easy bike distance to beach or town. Larger "resorts" tend to be distant from the town so Ancient House is a good compromise. Great breakfast. Downsides - pool could use a waterfall or something to cool the very warm water. Avoid restaurant and drinks which are much too expensive. Beach is very nice […] but it also rents power craftr to kids with no demarkation for a swimming area - so dangerous it drove us from the water. Devamı

I've travel all over the world and the Ancient House is at the top of my list. The hotel is beautiful in every aspect...the architecture is extraordinary. The staff were all so helpful, in fact the MOST helpful that I have ever experienced. (and that is saying so much). The history of the building and the rice noodles that is produced there is like […] stepping into history) This hotel is such a fantastic monetary deal...beauty, history, location,staff. We enjoyed the Ancient House so much that we will use it as our official home away from home headquarters while we are in Vietnam. This hotel is amazing and I can't wait to stay there again. Devamı

We selected this hotel from the Expedia reviews and were not disappointed. Staff were very helpful, room was spacious and clean with a view of the pool and garden. The pool was clean and pleasant to swim in. Breakfast was good, rather than great, but similar to the other hotels we stayed in. The only negative was that a shuttle bus was needed into the […] old quarter. However, the bus was frequent and on time so it was not really a problem. In all, very good value, to be recommended. I stayed at the Ancient House Resort for 4 nights in October (2010). Although our Jet Star flight was horribly delayed the transfer from Da Nang airport was there waiting for us and we even picked up some takeaway on the way to the hotel (as it was past 11pm and the hotel restaurant was closed). The rooms look uninspiring in the photos I've seen but […] they are actually very comfortable and attractive. My bed was really comfortable, the AC was quiet and I even had a DVD played in the room (not that it was used). Although a laptop PC was available for internet use I never got this to work so used wi-fi for checking out restaurants online, etc. It was slow but at least it was available. The breakfast is rather uninspiring but if you go for an omelette and pancakes there's plenty to eat and the service at breakfast was often entertaining. This hotel really excelled at service during my stay - the staff are polite and friendly and keen to assist whenever possible. I should also mention that they provide free use of bicycles and a shuttle bus is available into Hoi An / the beach. Devamı

Good for the price, and it certainly has character. However, the shuttle is infrequent: once every few hours which meant we did a lot of walking and took a few taxis. Decide what you want and stay closer to the beach or Old Town if you can. The staff were of variable quality between friendly and stony. We loved the "whole package" of this property. Great location, especially with the bonus of free pushbikes and the use of the shuttle bus service. Breakfast was fresh and tasty, and the staff always welcoming and friendly.Clean airy large rooms, separate bathroom with good amenities. Loved the four poster beds! Clean and well maintained swimming pool. […] Would definitely stay here again and would recommend to anyone visiting HoiAn. We had a very enjoyable stay at Ancient House Resort, the rooms were big and very clean. We liked that the resort was located a little out of town, we walked or made good use of the free shuttle bus as required. We enjoyed Hoi An and had some great food in town (Cargo Club - Tuna and Wasbi Mash), and would also reccomend visiting Cau Dai Beach - which […] was lovely. Gorgeous pool and beautiful rooms but it is situated a little way out of town. There is a shuttle provided and free use of bikes though. Seemed to be about 3X as many staff as would be required when we were there, and the breakfast chef didn't really go out of the way to offer eggs or pancakes which was disappointing as they spent the whole time standing […] there looking bored with nothing to do. The room was gigantic. For 2 people, we had a large living room, 4 sinks, 2 toilets, a separate bedroom, 2 balconies, 2 TVs, large tub and separate shower stall. It was the largest room I've ever stayed in, quite honestly. The pool is a good size and a nice respite from the heat. The grounds are charming with much greenery, flowers, plants all around. […] It was very quiet, except for the roosters that crow every morning at 4AM. It was difficult to sleep if you are a light sleeper. The shuttle runs only a few times a day to town and the beach. It was convenient since the hotel is right in the middle. There is unfortunately not much to eat around the area, which was the biggest detractor from this hotel. They could not provide much recommendations either, which was not helpful. The hotel grounds and room were great, but I hesitate on fully recommending this place due to the location. Devamı

Een zeer gastvrij en mooi hotel. Gelegen in een tuin met bloeiende bomen en planten. Ter verwelkoming is er een schaaltje met fruit, wat aangevuld word na gebruik. Er staan ook verse bloemen in de kamer en badkamer, die ververst worden. Het enige is dat het, met verschillende trappen niet geschikt is voor mensen die slecht ter been zijn. Je wensen worden […] je van de ogen gelezen, je voelt je zeer verwend. Ik ben er speciaal na een vorige ervaring terug gekomen. Devamı

Dette er et svært hyggelig hotell. De har god service og hyggelige medarbeidere. Hotellet ligger 1-2 km fra selve bysentrum, men vi fikk låne sykler noe som ikke bare gjør transporten til sentrum enklere, men også gjør det raskt og hyggelig å ta seg frem i byen, i gågater så vel som der det kjøres. Hotellet har også en nydelig hage med bassenganlegg […] og fantastisk frokost. Vi ble hentet på flyplassen i Da Nang da vi kom noe som kostet mindre enn med taxi. Devamı

Bel hôtel, et très bon service. Un principal défaut : les rideaux blancs aux fenêtres rendant impossible de faire le noir dans la chambre (mais c'est un trait classique au Vietnam).

Die Anlage ist sehr geschmackvoll, der Service sehr freundlich und zuvorkommend, jedoch niemals aufdringlich. Es gibt ein reichhaltiges Frühstücksbuffet. Wir haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt. Es gibt einen kostenlosen Strandshuttle sowie kostenlose Leihräeder. So ist man schnell im Zentrum, aber auch direkt rund ums Hotel gibt es gute Restaurants. Prachtige kamers (mooier dan op de site). Heerlijk ontbijt. Mooi zwembad. Hotel heeft gratis fietsen. Stadje is 5 minuten fietsen en het strand 15 minuten.

hotel très agréable, décoré de façon sobre mais très élegant et avec du caractere. nous avons beaucoup aimé notre séjour de 3 jours. Billard et piscine, ce qui enchanté nos enfants pendant les moments de relaxation.
