Champagne Palace Hotel - Roma

Very small room. Almost no space to move around .Bathroom floor was not clean. Simple breakfast. Cheap WIFI access, but only works in the reception & dining area, Not in the room. Very close to the railway station, Termimi (just 100 m). Easy to get around. Nice & helpful personal.

The hotel is outdated ... the furnishings in my room included a bedspread with the threads hanging off the edge. The carpet was dirty and the hand towels were tea towels. The breakfast is typical and not very exciting. The surrounding neighborhood is a little scary. This is just not a 4 Stars hotel at all. Rooms are small, with a 14" old TV, old furniture and no WiFi signal (I paid 5 Euros for 12 hours but I had to move to the lobby to get the signal. No access for handicaps, I used a wheelchair and crutches and there is no ramp at entrance. Also hard to get into rooms with my chair. Two only good things: Front […] desk three men (very professional) and breakfast on 7th floor (nice stuff and view). Close to Termini in case you're going to another destiny by train. Imagine my shock when the cappuccino came out of an automatic machine from a liquid mix and hotwater. I have never seen that in Italy. The walls in the room were very dirty but the location was good for the train station and 15 minute walk to the Colosseum. Desk staff was very helpful with good knowledge or touring the city.

The location is very convience and near th Terminal. The service is quite good and their staff are very friendly. However, the room seems very old and the toilet condition have space to improve!(with some mildew). No egg and bacon can be found in breakfast.

The hotel is simple but receptionists are pleasant. Bad points: Breakfast is not good enough, few options of bread, one kind of cheese and ham, juice is also not good. Internet is not free. Good Points: Very well located few meters from the Termini Station (Rome Main Train and Metro Station). Many restaurants in the vicinity of the hotel.

How this hotel has 4 stars is a mystery? Dirty and falling apart. On arrival we had to pay €6 city tax to the receptionist? Wouldn't book this pace again. Avoid if possible.

I would reccomend this hotel only if you need to be near the train and you get a great rate. It is not a 4 star but then again nothing in Europe ever is it seems! The room was tiny! We did have a 5th floor room overlooking the street so we had a breeze. This was in March and it was mild but I bet this hotel would be so hot and uncomfortable in the summer. […] Our heat was jacked up in the room and it took us one full day to cool it down with the windows wide open. First of all read reviews because i ignored reviews and i was clearly said in them - not hot water, it was happened to me, i didn't have hot water for day and a half and in rome when you stay for for days and it is really hot you need to take a shower, room was clean but breakfast wasn't really fresh every day, specially bread

Very conveniently located not even 100 meters from the central train station,Termini. Accessibe to major sightseeing spot such as Colosseum on foot. The hotel staff are friendly and helpful. The charge is very reasonable for what it offers. Highly recommendable for tourists traveling by train to various cities in Italy.

We flew into Chiampino airport and got a bus to Termini. The hotel was very close by which was great. The buffet breakfast was better than we had anticipated. If you're happy to walk, you can get to most of the central sites without too much effort.

It is very convinient Location. Do not expect 4 starts standards. But stil OK

Very conveniently located near Roma Termini station. Rooms are small and bathrooms even smaller. Decent breakfast. Helpful staff. Very basic amenities.

Good location, as the hotel is in the center of the city. Near to all famous historical points and the Termini station (Central station). The staff in the hotel made us pay some city tax?? I checked a few rooms before I decided to stay. The rooms (as whole hotel) are in terrible condition. (I have some pictures) I'm talking about rooms I saw on 6th and 5th floor. Who knows maybe there are amazing rooms on other floors. I decided to go there seeing a positive opinions in internet. I didn't expected much but for sure I didn't expect mold […] and mildew in bathrooms and dirty wall in bedroom. If you like poor choice for breakfast you will be satisfied. (2 kind of cold meats, boiled eggs, cereals, jam (3 kinds), honey and nutella). If you like vegetables or yoghurt then you need to buy it day before and bring it with you on breakfast. (as we and other guests did). For the first two days one of two coffee makers was out of order. For special attention deserves the curtains (in breakfast room on 7th floor) which were washed .... This is a good question to sanitary inspection. I'm wondering who is responsible for rating of the hotels. Four stars is completely inadequate. Someone suppose to verified his/her competency. Finally.... It was an excellent experience for us. Thanks to that we spent all the day outside hotel and we were returning there just for a night. Lack of internet and 6 tv channels in italian forced us to ... :) and thats why I'm greateful for Champange Hotel for it !!!! Devamı

Looks like this hotel had a great past, but has not been maintained accordingly. The walls in the room have foot marks, also the walls are very thin, you could hear people talking in the next room. The hotel was well located and it took around 15 minutes to walk to the Colosseum. To get to other locations such as the Pantheon and Trastevere, it took a lot longer (minumum 30 mins walk from the hotel). The customer service was great and we received a warm welcome. The breakfast was free for all hotel guests which was a bonus. One negative was that […] we had to pay a city tax of a specified rate per person per night which was a nuisance but unavoidable. The hotel is listed as a 4* hotel and while it was clean and comfortable the room was quite dated and old. Having just come from another 4* hotel the previous night the Champagne Palace was not as good as I'd expected.

Probably the best thing about this hotel is the location. Close to Roma Termini, where you can access buses, subways and the train to the airport. Plenty of restaurants around the area. You can even walk to some of the sights from here. Hotel is mediocre, rooms are small and there are no bath tubs - just showers that are way too small. Massimo at the […] front desk is very helpful. The location is near the train station but it is very noisy. The air conditioner doesn't work well so I would only stay there again if the weather was cool. The people at the front desk are great and they gave me the nicest room they had which was on the first floor....The toilet didn't flush so they had to fix it the next day and let us use the room […] next door. Great location. Supermarket and internet cafes within 100 metres of hotel. Plenty of restaurants nearby and 5 min walk to major train and bus station. would definitely stay here again.

Luckily, I was only at the hotel for one night. The hotel was chosen on the internet because of its close proximity to the train station. However, I found out the next morning from another hotel customer that she had been without hot water for two days already. The bathroom shower had mold growing on the walls. The wall above the toilet had mold also. It was disgusting. I was at the hotel in August, temps in the 90's. The air conditioner did not work. There was an air conditioner unit, but it just made loud noise without any cool air. The hallways were dark. The lights were on a sensor, so you had to wall in the dark hall and wait for the sensor to react as you walked along. It was pretty scary. The room pictures on the internet are very misleading. The room is so small, two people could not move around comfortably. I definitely would NOT return to this hotel, nor recommend it to anyone................run!! Devamı

Reception staff helpful and friendly. Bed comfortable and furnishings good. Condition of bathroom disappointing - old, loose shower screen; no lid on pedal bin Main problem was that air conditioning was inneffective leading to a terrible nights sleep. Air con fine in public areas of the hotel

We went to the champagne palace for a 40th brithday celebration, the hotel was more than adequate but was mssing a 'romantic' feel. Interior could do with work and modernisation, but was clean and comfortable. The breakfast is tradtional continental there is a lack of fruit but we found it enough to keep us going! Our room had a beautiful view overlooking the street with a large window that you could open completely to let the night time air in. It was magnificent, and a great first night for Rome. The breakfast had lots of different things to choose from, including meats, cheese, cereal, different types of bread and decent cappuccino from a machine. Our only […] problem was the shower head was broken so it didn't stay up, but it was the kind with a hose that you could unattach from the wall so not a big problem. Also, the shower drain didn't drain very quickly so sometimes you needed to turn the water off for a minute. Overall we loved staying here. This was a wonderful introduction to the Italian countryside in Abruzzo. We were essentially in a bed and breakfast on a working farm. We loved it. The food was wonderful too.

This hotel is right by the Termini train station. The people who run the hotel were very helpful and the place is well-maintained and very clean. There are a few drawbacks however. You are only given one card-key and the air conditioner only works if the card is plugged into the wall. This means the room was hot for the first hour we came in. There […] is no WiFi. The shower is more or less a divot in the corner of the bathroom surrounded by a curtain so small it felt as though I were showering inside a pillow case. My husband and I stayed 2 nights here. The room was clean, the bed was comfortable, and the shower was great (strong pressure, endless hot water). Although it is a good walk from the major sites (15 min walk to the Coloseum, longer to some of the other sites), it is located in a busy neighborhood full of restaurants, shops, and 2 blocks from the train […] station and bus terminals. The concierges are extremely helpful and speak multiple languages. Ask them to recommend nearby restaurants. If you are flying into or out of Rome, this is an especially convenient hotel because there is a bus pickup at the nearby station for 6 euros to Ciampino and 8 euros for Leonardo DaVinci airport. My husband and I enjoyed our stay at Champagne Palace. It was conveniently located near the train station and metro. The rooms were clean and the breakfast was good. It would have been nice if they had internet service available for their guests. We did find an "Internet Point" around the corner from the hotel, but it was an inconvenience. One thing […] we were unaware of was the additional "tourist tax" in Rome. We had prepaid for the hotel and then had to pay an additional 6 Euros (3 Euros each) per night at the front desk. We took train from airport to hotel and tran from hotel to Civitevecchia to board cruise ship. Room was clean and quiet. It is only minutes from Termini train station and there are many good restaurants nearby and several internet cafes that you do not need to bring computer with you on trip. Not quite central Rome but only 15 mins walk from Colisseum, 20 mins from Trevi Fountain and near a Metro. 2 Blocks from Railway station so ideal for transfers, car hire. Plenty of nearby reasonable quality restaurants. Staff extrememly friendly and helpful. Breakfast room is a delight on the 7th floor, what a view to accompany coffee and croissants! Rooms […] vary in quality. Our outbound stay we were lucky enough to get a spacious well decorated room with large bathroom, Inbound we were allocated a small room, not quite as clean. A great location, very helpful staff, clean room. Very easy to get to from the airport. Hotel also very kindly took care of our luggage until we got our train. Very good choice of places to eat.

We arrived and got our keys the man at reception was friendly, we had to pay a 12 euro city tax. On our booking form it said all taxes were paid. I told the hotel this and they said we had to pay it. We got to our room which was tiny. Every time you oened the fridge the drawer below it opened. The room seemed warm and the bathroom was hot. The air […] conditioning made a noise like a tractor. We thought it was working but met another hotel resident in the lift the next day who said it was broken. It had been fixed at that stage. We missed breakfast the first morning but the second morning we went to breakfast. The dining room was like a sauna. I used the juice dispenser as I wanted orange juice the juice was red and very warm. The breakfast choices were spam, cheese and bread (all heated to the temperature of the hot dining room). This room was bare bones, with an uncomfortable bed, and the room stank of smoke even though they claimed to be non-smoking.

Hotel is close to Termini so close to the metro, trains and also the citysightseeing tours. The area is a bit run down and rough but we had no issues/hassel, it is a busy area. Breakfast choice was limited but we were satisfied. Bathrooms were clean and the room was a fair size with air con. Would consider hotel again if revisiting Rome

The first room we had was ok. However when charging my kindle, after returning from dinner we had no power in the room. We had to change rooms as they didn't know when the electrician would come to restore the power. The second room was terrible. There was a safe that couldn't be opened to use, no light by the closet where the safe was kept, and air […] conditioning was working poorly. While waiting for air to be fixed my husband tried to take a shower. The shower was so small he could not fit into it. It was only about 2 ft wide and with a folding door the opening was only about 18 inches. He only weighs 225 lbs. but couldn't fit in the door. So we had to change back into the first room when the power was restored (about 15 min. later). This shower although was clean and had nice marble fixtures and floors, was slightly bigger. My husband just barely fit into it. I am a small person and when I used it I kept bumping into the walls. They need to enlarge the shower and ditch the bidet, which is totally unnecesary. Also, don't listen to the staff when they tell you the airport is only 10 minutes away. It took us 25 min. and this was early on Sat. morning. We were almost late for our flight because the staff did not recommend adequate time to get to the airport taking into account the time to check in, go through security and get to our gate. Devamı

This hotel seems like it was perhaps a grand place to stay in the 1950's... and it's been maintained, but not upgraded since then. The paint is old, the carpets are old. the TV is old, the rooms are smallish.. but still big enough for a king size and room to walk around it. The location is absolutely fantastic!!! From our room we could literally see […] the entrance to the Termini. It was only 1 block away.. not 2 blocks as advertised. There are banks and restaurants and even a grocery store all on the same block, and because it's near the Termini, there are all the bus lines and Taxi's avaialable. This is also handy because when you got to take a taxi back at the end of the night, you can simply say train terminal and there's no confusion for the driver. The place is probably more equivalent to an older Bestwestern or motel6 but with an all marble bathroom.... If you're looking for a place to put your bags and take a shower before going out on the town all night.. this is a great spot! If you're looking for a place to spend a lot of time in your room lounging around.. you're probably going to want to spend more money and look elsewhere. Devamı

Great location with nice restaurants nearby, they clean your room each day, breakfast was good, and the guys at the front desk were very helpful. We really enjoyed our stay in Rome and the hotel contributed to this. The only negative was the tiny shower

This Hotel has a very friendly staff headed by Maximo, who speaks good English and is patient with questions. Good stay overall if you want to locate close to the Termini.
