Outrigger Luana Waikiki - Honolulu

This is a very nice affordable hotel in what i consider to be a great location as it is not right in the middle of busy Waikiki but within walking distance to all the shops and beach. The only negitive was that it is on busy Kalakaua Avenue Honolulu so there is alot of road noise. Cannot sleep with the window open. The hotel has a lovely pool area with […] great pool lounges. The hotel was more than expected based on the reviews we read. We expected constant interruptions for the construction, but since we were busy with other things, it was fine!

What made this stay exceptional was the staff and their willingness to provide excellent service. I needed to store luggage twice...no problem. I had a late night flight. The Luana made the pool restroom available so I could spend the day at the beach and clean up before my flight. Boarding pass? Use the free computer and printer in the lobby. The room […] was great...I had a partial ocean view studio and the views across the park to the ocean were lovely. I appreciated the fridge, coffee maker, and dishes and only wished the room also had a microwave (although I could take my stuff down to the front desk and they would warm it up.) There is a bit of road noise with the window open and the pool is pretty small, but you're only a block and a half from the beach...with lots of great shops and restaurants and all of Waikiki within walking distance. This hotel is in a great location just blocks from Waikiki and close to all the shopping. We walked to all of it. Vallet parking is great. The hotel is beautiful with spacious rooms and quality furnishings. Would recommend anyone to stay there!

We thought we got a steal. From the valet parking up front, front desk and services we could not have ask for more. The room was like an efficiency apartment. Comfortable bed, dining table/chairs, granite counter top, dishes, frig, sleeper couch and balcony with ocean view. Location was great, shops and waikiki beach a walk away. The rates, (which we searched around for) were more than great and yes you have to pay for valet parking, but most hotesl in Honolulu charge for valet. The hotel was fair. We had a wonderful view of the top of a gas station & we were close to the busy street.Thank goodness for the loud air conditioner or we would hear the traffic all night.I read on the hotel info that valet parking was $18 per night but we were charged $25 per night.We had a fridge in the room which was convienent. The only problem with the hotel is that if you reserve two beds, they count the pull out sofa bed as one. They did not tell us up front until we check in. Other than that it was a nice hotel.

Outrigger Luana isn't the nicest hotel I've stayed in, but it's far from the worst for the price. The good: The rooms were clean, the staff was accomodating, and the hotel is in a location that allows easy Waikiki strip and beach access (though it's not on the beach, that's nothing five minutes of walking won't solve). Also, free wifi (though a bit […] in and out) and a pretty decent little cafe/restaurant, Protea, right outslide the lobby. The bad: My room's toilet was on the fritz most of the time. My inlaws walked into their room for the first time and there was a large puddle of water on the floor from the mini fridge freezer having defrosted. Their AC unit also completely died. There is no self parking, so if you rent a car, you'll have to find another place to park or use their valet service, which is pretty expensive - though that's subjective. The hotel is also right one of the two major strip roadways, so if you're on the north or northeast side of the hotel, it can be a little loud from vehicles, especially if you're on the first five floors. OUTRIGGER - PLEASE update your bathrooms. The shower controls are horrible and you need an active vent fan in there. Those with small children - be very careful with the shower control - it's a razor thin line between freezing and scalding. To Outrigger's credit, the guts on my room's toilet were fixed within five minutes of me calling the desk and the AC unit in my inlaws' room was replaced the same day it went out while we were out and about - not fixed, but totally replaced with a brand new unit. Overall, the hotel is solid, but don't expect anything extravagant. You're in Hawaii. You shouldn't be spending all your time in your hotel room anyway. However, if that's your thing, this hotel isn't a bad place to hang around. Devamı

The hotel is nicely located, a few minutes away from the Waikiki crowd. There are no high-rise building facing the ocean around the hotel, you can enjoy the relaxing view from the lanai. There is a nice small cafe at the entrance -- good for breakfast and lunch, but I wanted it to be open as a bar in the evening, too. It is because there is no bar near […] the hotel, unless you walk to the Beach Walk area and the Waikiki's central area. But overall the hotel is very pleasant. Devamı

We enjoyed our two days very much. It was comfortable, clean, quiet and had lovely surroudings. The staff was helpful and very friendly. It was a bit of a walk to the beach and shopping area but they were very accesssible.

Very room. Neat and clean.

We enjoyed our stay here. It's not right on the beach but a bonus for us was the proximity to the hale koa and ft Derussy parking for only 8 per day. And it's walk able to most of the Waikiki strip. One downside was the tiny pool but with so much beautiful ocean available to relax in on Oahu who needs a pool?!

Better than expected in many ways for the price. Friendly staffs. Bed was surprisingly comfortable. Distance to the Waikiki beach was perfect for my daily walking exercise, about a mile each way. Great shopping choices for my wife. (Not so great for me, Channel, Gucci, Louis Vuitton, etc.) I will go back to this hotel any time.

Hotel Statt were always very helpful. Room was very nice. I will be back with family next time.

I stayed in one of POV room with kitchen, and was very satisfied. Though I did not cook any meal in the room at all, it is good to have a sink, microwave, and refridge especially when you have a child. I loved waking up with a view of ocean!!! The location is right next to the Teddy Bear Museum which my 2yr old daughter looooved, and next to all the […] fancy stores and yet not too croweded. Enjoyed the walk in the morning along the park to the beach, and along the shopping street in the evening filled with many attractive street shows. Best location if you dont mind walking several minutes to the beach. They provide beach towel, and fresh water at the lobby. The lobby or room itself is nothing fancy, but good enough for comfort stay. Friendly staffs-not at the front desk, but cleaning ladies and vallet parking staffs are friendly. Room was slightly dated (bathroom specifically could use some updating) but was quite sufficient for our one night stay. Comfortable beds. The kitchenette was a nice feature that would be very handy for someone booking an extended stay. The free Wi-fi access was spotty at times and the location (streetside) was a bit noisy, but these minor issues didn't […] have a negative impact on our stay. Aside from the lousy shower operation and poor bathroom design, the room was quite nice, and the location cannot be beat for at this price point. The STANDOUT aspect of our stay was the EXCELLENT hospitality we received from the concierge. Very friendly staff who were helpful with our luggage, transportation arrangements, and general questions about the region. Only problem was noisy air conditioning

they tried to give me a 'free upgrade' at another hotel, translation: they over booked. I complained, they accomadated me. Hotel staff was friendly and rooms were clean. good location.

While there are more luxurious Hotels in Waikiki, this is a great hotel for the price point. It was only a few minute walk to the beach and has immediate access to lots of shopping. Friends were staying in another hotel in Waikiki, and although there hotel was slightly nicer they paid quite a bit more. Hotel staff was very friendly and knowledgeable. They […] did a good job on a lot of the small things too. Provided soaps and lotions were good quality, not greasy like you often find with complimentary items. 20 min from Alamoana Cntr, 10 from city cntr, & 10 from the beach. If you want to pay $100 more / night ,that's your choice. There is really nothing wrong with this hotel except the pool chairs are in sun only after 11am.

I really like the room it was just right for my needs. The sink, dishes, utensils, and cutlery came in really handy. I would definitely book there again.

Overall hotel was comfortable and friendly. Fun to explore nearby areas on foot. Pool was cold and closed @ 9. No hot tub.

We were pleasantly pleased with our view from the 16th partial ocean room that really was a full view of the ocean and surrounding cityscape. It was located right in the middle of the Waikiki dinner/bar area, but was perfectly quite at night. The hallways were non-air conditioned, but it was Hawaii and the rooms had great air. Nice accommodations and absolutely the BEST customer service I have seen in years. The Bell staff, Front Desk, Resaurant and Maid Service all went out of their way to make sure everything was above satisfactory! Everyone was friendly and helpful. It was a great experience.

Comfort need s to be upgraded 1. safety bar in the shower area 2. chair height toliet( if over 6 feet tall long way to squat) 3. ventaliting fan so the room will not fog up, when you take a shower

The first night I was there I noticed the air conditioner was very loud when the compressor turned on. So loud that it would wake me up when I had it on the lowest fan setting. The next morning I looked at the air conditioner closely and saw it had a tag marked "loaner". I figured I could put up with no AC at night so let it go. The second day it worked […] OK. The third day I received a call from maintenance that they would be replacing the unit though I had not complained. I noticed that the replacement unit only showed the temp in Centigrade, but that was no big deal to me. The fourth day is when the trouble really started. The unit died three times. I called all three times to complain. maintenance came the first time to check it out and then reset the dedicated circuit breaker, which the unit had apparently tripped. The second time this happened, they just reset the breaker again. The THIRD time it happened it was 10PM and they said it would take a while to get someone to reset it since it was after hours. The hotel phone rang sometime in the middle of the night and I was asked if they could come in. I said “yes” and waited for them. Then someone just reset the circuit breaker again, so I waited up needlessly. On my last day the breaker tripped once more, and I complained again, and said this had happened three times the previous day. I was told “we’re really sorry about that”, but no offer of any compensation for all the interruptions and discomfort, not even a token gift certificate. This is NOT a cheap hotel. Valet service only for parking, etc. The fact that they did not offer me any compensation at all for all this inconvenience and discomfort shows a real lack of consideration for their guests. I am not a picky person, but deserve to be treated well when I stay at a supposedly classy hotel like this. There is a lot of hotel competition at Waikiki. If only one person reads this and decides to go elsewhere it was worth it for me to write of my experience. Devamı

I booked this hotel expecting NOT to be wowed- but instead it exceeded my expectations completely. We had 2 different rooms since we extended our stay but had to downgrade due to availablitiy. The suite was on the the 14 floor with a stellar ocean view, full kitchen and very comfortable bed/couch. All around charming, and the staff were very friendly […] and helpful. Best part-- we were only an extra 3 blocks walking distance from everything we wanted to be near- which was a short walk for the money we saved over other beachfront hotels. Our 2nd room was on the 1st floor. No view, but a huge balcony and still a great partial kitchen, comfortable beds and very clean and lovely. I truly loved this hotel and was pleasantly surprused by how impressed I was. My ONLY complaint was one night shift employee who was less than helpful and hid a bad attitude under his aloha smile. Oh well- I will still be coming back should I ever return to Oahu!!!! Devamı

Excellent location, friendly and attentive staff. The room was nicely decorated with granite counter tops. There was an ihome radio clock and free in room internet service which we really enjoyed.

Location is very good, walking distance to everything, shopping, beach, car rental . Room was very clean, booked all day trips from hotel , easy and great .
