The hotel is at walking distance from the Shanghai shopping area and the Bund; it is also near tube stations. We got a free upgrade and the room was quite nice, large and well-furnished, and had an excellent post card view from Shanghai. The breakfast had a reasonable variety of options. The hotel was nice in the lobby, restaurangs etc. But the rooms were not 4 star standard. But ok anyway. The street outside had nothing, but it was Only a 5 minute Walk to Nanjing Road and all shopping. Great staff and close to everything. So i would recommend it for a stay in Shanghai!

we got free upgrade to executive flr. room is newly renovated and kept clean everyday. can view Pudong area and the Bund from the window. hotel is accessible to airport via Metro Line 2(Nanjing East Rd Stn.exit3) along Nanjing Pedestrian Rd you can find everything you need from street food, fast food to fancy restaurant and from low to high end shopping. hotel […] front desk can speak good english.but when they talk to each other, their voice are too load and like arguing. hotel in general is clean and well maintain except the elevator carpet needs to be change.and whats best they do not allow smoking inside the lobby. Great rooms, great location (best view of Shanghai), great value. I will definitely return again.

Very much would recommend this hotel. Clean and VERY great service! Could have been slightly closer to the Metro/Subway, but was just a short walk away. Mattress was very hard, but they brought us extra comforters to put on top to soften.

A very interesting part of town to say the least. If you want 5 star neighbourhood, give it a miss. If you want to experience the local scene, it is an eye opener. The hotel itself was comfortable enough, but I would prefer somewhere closer to town if I was going to stay more than a day or two.

I booked a superiour room with river view, wondering if the view from a hotel a few blocks away from the river bank wouldn't be obstructed by other, newer buildings. But I was rewarded with a awesome view over Pudong, the Huangpu River and Suzhou Creek, that made me spend my days and nights sitting on the window sill, just watching the ships come in […] and falling asleep with Pudong's neon glow radiating into the night sky. Old Charm, needs a bit of upkeep. Rooms are big carpets old, but they do provide slippers and it was not dirty in bad way. Location is great and it provides value for money. Helt klart okay.

This a good hotel for the price, and has Internet in the rooms (not wifi, but broadband if you bring a laptop). There isn't much right outside the door, but only 5-10 minutes away you're in a big shopping area, and about 10 minutes away you're at the riverside.

Nice hotel! You must request a non smoking room on a non smoking floor! We had the non smoking room but smoke came in from the door on our floor! Horrible smell had to use towels to seal up the door! Non smoking floors are only 11-12! The reservation said internet was free well it wasn't until i complained then it was free! The room was nice, big bathroom, […] tv was ok with 4 english channels! Quality/price good choice, cheap taxi ride from the bund. Quiet area. Dirty carpets but otherwise all good.

The location of the hotel was pretty darn good. It is located two blocks from the metro and close to East Nanjing Street, a lively shopping street reminiscent of Broadway. The service left something to be desired. When we checked in at around 1:00PM and room service had still not cleaned our room. The hotel restaurant was decent though pricey as was […] the downstairs lounge. The hotel eludes to have a bar on the 17th floor but when we went to look it did not have the appearance of being a bar and it was not open. When we called to check when it opened, we were told that it opened at 11:00PM. We never found out if that was due to language barrier or if in fact that was the hour that it opened. In the elevator there were advertisements of a happy hour, but it was said to be during the hours of 11:00PM - 2:00AM. Odd. A good hotel in general, though room for improvement is very clear. The carpet in the room should be cleaned or changed; the food should be better prepared. Overall, a good hotel....to be recommended.. Z

It was good and room was much more luxurious than i expected. But one of receptionists was very rude to me. Because of her, i thought this hotel's service was not good. On arrival we found that the hotel has steep stairs at the front and we are glad that the attentinve bellboys quickly toook control of our luggage. To our delight we recieved a room upgarde to a suite - although we did not use the lounge room the bathroom was spacious with a corner spa and seperate shower. The shower had a peculiar drain arrangement […] which had the water going down between tiles rather than a drain hole. Thie resulted in water backing up around me feet but no great problem. The upgrade obviously took housekeeping by surprise. There was no bath mat in the bathroom. On day two they forgot the pillowslip on one of the pillows. We did not eat in the hotel but found an excellent cafe 85 degrees C two blocks away - with excellent coffee. The coffee in th e bar in the foyer was hopeless and the beeer as reportede in othe reviews outrageously expensive. Overall the decor is dated - typical of Chinese operated hotels. The bed was comfortable and the front office staff always trying to help. Watch out for the charges in the spa on L2 - RMB 680 for a one hour massage - I can get better in a million other places. With so many places to choose from we only chose this one on price - next time we will try elsewhere although the location was good - three blocks to East Nanjing subway station and lots of small local eateries. Low standard but resonable price

Excellently located, overall very good but the rooms need newer carpets.

The hotel is in a great location, the staff was super helpful, and I'm guessing some of the aged look of the hotel comes from high traffic. Other than that the room was a bit cramped, but for a Asian hotel it was pretty nice.

Location is good - only a 5 min walk to the nearest Nanjing East subway stn. No eateries around the hotel. Fast food joints in Nanjing Road (5 mins walk). Service is good and check out time 1:00 pm is commendable. Only complaints are with the dirty carpets in the room and shower area needs a good scrubbing. The noodles I ordered in the restaurant were […] too greasy for my liking and they did not warn us that one portion is large enough for two. Maybe, it is their appetite. Booked this online as it seemed ok and in my budget price range. The read a few reviews online and starting getting cold feet as some of the reviews were poor. Anyway service was good Location was ok, I ended up walking from the train station to the hotel. Desolate Location. Friendly but completely incompetent staff. Rooms are decent but not worth the price. If you want to have the worse meal of your life grab a snack at the hotel bar.

Very good view, provided you get riverside rooms. Location fairly convinient - a 5 min walk from Nanjinglu or 10 min from Bund. Facilities are unsophisticated, limited to a small cafe and wifi in the lobby

the hotel is a rock throw away from the more ritzy part of yet it's priced at a two star rate, but with the potential of a 3 and 1/2 star, no free breakfast or workout facilities was my only problem, otherwise the location was ideal!

It could have been a good hotel, however during our stay there were renovation works taking place from 09:00 am till 19:00 pm (including Saterdays and Sundays). No way to have any rest during the day - the whole day noice like being on a construction site. Having discussed this with the hotel manager, that a hotel can not sell its rooms like this without […] informing its guests beforehand or giving them a discount for the inconvenience caused, the answer was just ... sorry! Internet in the room did not work. Hotel common areas were clean. Very convenient location. Breakfast was a rather inadequate buffet.

The location of the hotel is convenient, about 10 minutes walk to the nearest main shopping belt and restaurants, as well as the train station in Nanjing Rd. The service is good and the staff, in particular, Jackson of consierge is very helpful and pleasant.

We were generally very pleased with this place. The location was excellent - 10 minutes to The Bund, 5 to subway, 1 to local streets with all their noise and liveliness. A major pedestrianized shopping street is 4 minutes away. The immediate neighborhood might be challenging for people who want only a sanitized experience of China, but we loved it. […] A coffee shop on the main floor and a restaurant on the 18th were very handy. The restaurant served buffet breakfasts with Chinese and Western options. There was also a Chinese restaurant on the third floor, but this could be very noisy with lots of celebrations. Mostly, we went out for street food for breakfast, easily obtainable a block away. Two floors are non-smoking, The room itself had great views of the futuristic Pudong buildings, of boats going up and down the Huangpo River, and of the Suzhou Canal right below. The room was kept very well - towels were changed daily, even though we would have been happy with less frequent replacement. Great hotel in a good location to start off in Shanghai - the hotel is in good condition with some renovations occurring. Mix of chinese and foreign tourists. Service is excellent. Don't forget to check out the trendy French District.

It is conviniently located, a stone-throw to train station. Overall, satisfied with the upkeeping & amenities of the room, though alternative LED or white lights would be a welcome for bath and room.

The Bund Riverside Hotel is OK. Rooms are very small and show lots of use. The staff is wonderful, but if I didn't speak Chinese I think I would have had a lot of trouble. Location is very nice, especially for morning walks on surrounding small streets with fabulous street food. Cab prices make this location quite good, as everything is in easy striking […] distance. The tv actually displayed my name and they had English channels like AXN, Starmovies etc... though the images were grainy. Carpet was a little dirty, but slippers were provided. Had to walk to get to train station but was within walking distance of many convenience stores, the Bund, Nanjing East Road and Qipu Street.

The Bund Riverside hotel is located next to the Suzou Creek which filters into the Huangpu river about 700 metres away. The hotel is on the busy Beijing Road West and this particular street seems like the main area for power tool shops and other hardwares. Nevertheless it is in a very convenient location just 4 or 5 minutes walk to the Nanjing Road […] pedestrian street with it great variety of shops, malls and eating places. Access to the Bund is best by walking along the canal side which leads directly to the People's Heroes monument and takes about 10 minutes. The nearest subway station is Nanjing Road East and has several exits all of which are only 3 or 4 minutes away from the hotel. The hotel room was quite spacious and very business like. The only negatives about it was the carpet which looked very old and worn and needed a good shampoo! The other concern was the fact that we paid extra for the 'superior city-view room' but found only one small window approximately 1m x1m which over-looked the creek and a big plot of land ready to be developed. I was sure that the hotel had made a mistake allocating this room but after checking they confirmed that this was indeed the city-view room! One thing worth noting is the charge for internet use in the hotel. This was 100 yuan per day so round about 10 quid..All in all though this hotel provided good value for money, was in a very convenient location and the staff were pleasant and helpful - even calling a taxi when you were ready to leave. Probably wouldn't return however but would recommend it to other travellers (except the city view rooms). Devamı

We have stayed at other hotels in the Bund area that had a much better location. This was not convenient to the metro. The hotel was nice with a small lobby. The room was comfortable and the bed was better than average for China (not rock hard like some places).

I thought the hotel staff was ver friendly and went out of their way to accommodate English speakers. The only negative was the top floor restaurant which was horrible - the food took forever and was not good considering the over 160RMB I paid for two prawns and overly oiled veggies. The room we were in was small and hot and was flooded with smoke from […] the party happening next door. Even though there were only three in the party the restaurants tried to add a mandatory 98 RMB service fee - it was truly an unreal experience. As long as you don't eat in the top floor restaurant...it's fine. Devamı
