Ocean Dunes Resort & Villas - Myrtle Beach

The hotel was on the beach, which is what we were searching for when we booked this weekend getaway, also it was pet-friendly. Perhaps my standards were too high but I was disappointed with the condition of the hotel. The pillowcases did not fit the pillows and the ends were sticking out of the case showing that the pillows were torn. There was a nice […] flat-screen TV on the wall however it didn't work so there was an older TV on the dresser that we had to use. No screen on the sliding glass door so if we had the door open to enjoy the ocean there was a good chance that we'd get bugs in. On Saturday when housekeeping came they simply left clean towels. Beds were not made, and there wasn't any replenishment of coffee. Not sure if we will ever stay at this hotel again, we'll probably consider others first. Devamı

Front desk employees very helpful, only complaint was room had a coffee maker with coffee packets provided when we checked in but had to go to the front desk each night to get more packs which should have been left by house keeping. Hotel was dated and in need of renovations.

We had a restful weekend. We enjoyed our stay and great food from the hotel pizza restaurant and nearby River City Cafe.

Room was a pet friendly room which means "prepare to live in filth". The 4pm check-in was a joke....who has a check-in that late. With the "EXTRA" fee for the pet this room ended up costing as much as a 5 star per night. BEWARE BEWARE BEWARE

Really enjoyable. Will definitely stay there again.

Very dirty room....I felt nasty the whole time there. And it was an ocean front that we got and the room was 100 yards from the beach..

This hotel did not look anything like the pictures. If I had known the hotel would have looked liked that I would have NEVER stayed there! I was so dissatisfied! The walls had mildew everywhere! I guess if you look online for a hotel, amke sure that you get a 4 star hotel and pay extra money for it!!! I would not recommend this hotel to anyone!!

When I booked this hotel, I was under the impression that we were going to be oceanfront as the picture showed and the discription of the hotel stated. When we got there, we find out that we are not even in the hotel, we are in Tower II which is the furthest away from the beach, closest to the road. The children were so disappointed. The outside pool […] to our hotel was dirty as no one cleaned it the 4 days we stayed. The ice machines and washer/dryers were taken out of the building when it was stated that there were to be 3 floors with them. House keeping service was terrible. We never had towels, washclothes unless we asked for them and toilet paper and trashbags had to be approved thru the supervisor. Just didn't make sense if house keeping is suppose to supply our needs with those necessities that we paid for, that we were inconvenienced to leave our tower, walk outside and down to the main hotel to ask for them. Very dissatisfied with the service and the stay as we were in towers and that was not shown on the picture or stated in the discription. We all thought we were going to be in the main hotel/oceanfront like discription gave. Would not stay or recommend Ocean Dunes Resort & Villas to friends or family. Devamı

The rugs were filthy and stained. The pillows were thin, old and uncomfortable, and the tub/shower didn't drain. There were cobwebs in the corners (with a spider) and the bathroom vent was almost plugged. The mattress was very hard (okay for some but not for me). I was tempted to go sleep on the very nice couch they had in the lobby. You could hear […] EVERY door slam throughout the day and night. On our third day, when we asked for more coffee, condiments, towels & washcloths, we were told they were running low. (This is a management issue!) They seemed to be very short on cleaning staff and therefore unable to do what needed to be done. On the plus side, the gym and Jacuzzi were great! The pool area was clean. Starbucks was just two blocks away. I will never stay here again. I am usually pretty laid back but the list of frustrations was just too long. Devamı

We really enjoyed ourselves. Im glad the animals were well tamed n not on our floor. Also it did not smell like dogs stayed there.

I took my family to the beach for our vacation and we stayed at this hotel. We booked a non-smoking, two double bedroom on the beach. The room smelled like smoke and there was a HUGE hole in one of the walls. The bathroom was tiny as well. Our rooms did have an ocean view, but when we went out on the balcony, we noticed a whole horrible smell coming […] from the dumpster right below our room. We didn't stay on the balcony for longer than a few minutes because of the smell. The worst hotel experience I've ever had by far… Devamı

Good hotel..

The building we stayed in was the main building with the check-in office. I waited 30 minutes to get checked since there were only two workers behind the counter and they were overrun. The building is old and a little run down , if you stay , ask for the neweer building. I dont think I will go back

The hotel i'd stayed at was the ocean dunes and I was a horrible experience! I got my room so late, I was suppose to get it at 4 pm instead I got my at 8pm. The room was so dirty, it smelled like wet dog. We even found a cup full of cigars, the housekeeping even ate in my room and left the food in my room table. I really enjoy my stay, and planning on coming back real soon

I invited my mother on a 4day/3night vacation with myself and my 3 children, along with her small dog. Upon arrival, we were moved to Sands Resort which does not allow pets then moved back to this hotel. When we got to our room, it was dirty, unmade beds, dirty towels and food on the floor, we lugged back downstairs, only to be transferred to the room […] beside it. Customer service is great, the condition of the hotel is not so good; basically, the rooms are outside......no indoor pool, no heated pools either. Not a good spot for Spring Break! Devamı

My family and I went for spring break and it was lovely! Even after we were booked into a condemed room with no ac and the stove didnt work, we didnt find out until later because we were enjoying the spa, and water park and beach etc. But the staff did upgrade us to the next suite which was the executive suite and it was bigger. We stayed in the ocean front resort one night and the Villa II another night. The rooms where decent but needed some updates on the furnishing. the villa was much better, but twice as much money with no ocean view. The staff was curtious, but a little slow.

While reasonably clean, the hotel is a bit run down. The floor coverings on the outer walkways were dirty & stained. Only 1 of the 2 elevators worked and it seemed that the hotel was full. A bit inconvenient when you're on the 6th floor with two dogs. Speaking of dogs, there was an unadvertised $25/nite/dog charge. Finally, do not under any circumstances […] eat at the Brass Anchor restaurant in the hotel. We were looking for a continental breakfast which either didn't exist or they never heard of it. The motel itself was good, however, the elevator went out & being that we were on the 7th floor it was bad.

The beds were very clean and comfortable. It is a pet friendly hotel and I smelled the odor of past dogs when I walked in. It wasn't horrible but it was bothersome. The entire place could use some paint and upkeep. I would stay there again because it is pet friendly but I would not if I didn't have a dog.

just aggravated when the room key wouldnt work on the second side (we rented a two bedroom) and i had to go down there three times to get it straight. other than that the room was nice and we had a pleasant stay.

I really enjoyed my stay at Ocean Dunes Resort hotel. Beautiful view top floor, quiet and relaxing. Customer service was very good and pleasant. The only issue i saw were the air condition vents and exhaust vent were very dusty. Other than than that i would recommend the hotel to everyone I know.

We weren't able to get into our room until 7:30 even though check in is at 4:00. We were told our room was about to be ready for three and a half hours.

We decided on this hotel due to its pics and the fact that it was pet friendly. I think my dog slept on the balcony due to the musty smell of the room. The beds were old and uncomfortable. The room needs an upgrade bad. We usually stay at "chain hotels" but decided to change up. What a mistake. We will never recommend this hotel, nor will we stay there […] again. Devamı

THIS RESORT WAS MORE LIKE A MOTEL. The overall condition of the room was terrible. MOLD and MILDEW in the bathroom and a rusty disgusting kitchen the size of a shoe box! I would never stay there again!

I was surprised when handed a large dog welcome back full of goodies for our dog, it was impressive to have such welcoming pet friendly people. The pet friendly room was right on the beach and made for the perfect little getaway.

the hotel was great except for the house keeping, we didnt get our beds made but 2 times the whole 7 days we were there, and one of those days we had to make it ourselves with the sheets that were sent up. they really need to hire new house keeping staff.

The hotel was great. the pet love it there. the staff was friendly and if yo needed anything they got it. Only thing problem was, we were on the 2nd floor next to the operator office.and the thiey left the office, the dogs would bark because of the door shutting all the time. but we still had a great time It would be nice if we could get a room w/kitchen […] dog friendly. My husband and I stayed with our dog this past weekend and absolutely loved it! They had a doggy bag waiting on our little fella and he loved sitting out on the balcony people watching. We normally stay at other hotels with less than accommodating means for a dog, so we were very surprised that a resort as nice as Ocean Dunes allowed dogs. thank God for the second bathroom. Bedroom no.1 lights in the bathroom didn't work. When I tried to take a shower the knob broke off in my hand. I decided to use the shower in the second bathroom. Well when pulled the towel from the towel rack, the towel rack fell. I called the front desk for a maintance man, they sent two. One per bathroom. Bathroom […] two was fixed. Bathroom two light and shower knob was fixed but the exaust fan stopped working. Clearly an electrical problem. Devamı
