Nice breakfast. Location was not bad. Room was very modest. If you your room is overlooking the street, it can get quite loud because of occasional pedestrian and car traffic. I wouldn't stay there again. Little comfort, but OK if you are trying to save money.

I have never stayed in a smaller room. I had to block the bath room door to be able to open my suitecase. Minimal amenities. Very good Swedish breakfast. Warm boiled eggs otherwise only cold cut. No radio alarm clock in the room. Strange framed photos in the hallways. I found some disturbing.

The hotel had a small, family-owned feel. There was a wonderful breakfast room in a covered patio, and the staff was pleasant. It was a little way away from the heart of the city, which made the hotel a bit more quiet.

I arrived in Stockholm whilst it was dark and had fun finding the hotel by foot (it helps to figure out where you are first :-) ). Upon arriving i was greeted by very friendly staff and then made my way to my room. Breakfast was your typical buffet breakfast in Europe but did not expect to sit under a glass roof which was a great change for me. We got an excellent price, especially for Scandinavia. The room was small, as is typical in this part of Europe, but modern, clean, quiet and functional. Good walking or public transportation access to all of Stockholm. (Two quick stops from the central rail and subway stations.) We chose to walk to see all the museums, old part of Stockholm, etc. (Takes […] 20 - 30 minutes, but safe and interesting.) Great breakfast. Free and functioning wifi. Recommended. Try the raindeer stew or elk burger dinner at their sister hotel across the street - excellent. On the nearby corner is a lunch place with mediteranean food - super healthy salads if you want. One street over is a modern fast food asian place - Yoi - try that too. Very reasonable for healthy food with lots of flavor and vegatables. All things considered, the hotel is very nice, and I would be willing to return. The rating of "4" is a little low; I believe a rating of 4.3 (out of 5) is more reflective of my experience. I found the staff to be very friendly and helpful. The complimentary breakfast was nice. The hotel is a short walk from a subway station, which was very helpful […] for my purposes. The only negative aspect is that my room was very small, with little closet space. (The "3" rating on the "Comfort of your room" criterion is due almost entirely to this.) In addition, it would have been helpful to have an iron and ironing board in the room, and only one bath towel was provided. Also, the selection of television channels was somewhat limited compared to the selection available in many hotels. I experienced a wee bit of trouble with wireless internet access. Specifically, I was able to connect to the Internet via wireless access. After shutting down my computer and then powering up again, I had difficulty reconnecting via wireless. However, I had an Ethernet cable with me, and was able to connect to the Internet with no difficulty. (Note: It is possible the trouble I experienced might have been easily repaired. Since I experienced no problems once I used my Ethernet cable, I did not make inquiries concerning the trouble with wireless access.) Devamı

Professional staff and free Wifi available. Unfortunately single room at the price I paid didn't add to much that includes the decorations , bathroom too tight to manoevre , also breakfast choice could be better.Excellent quiet location though

Interesting location - it is not near anything of particular interest, but it is very close to a metro stop which makes it very accessible to everything. "Better" locations are considerably more $$, so we felt it was a good deal. Our room was small but very adequate, clean, with a very modern bathroom. Towels were a little meager, but I saw another guest ask for additional ones and they were provided without hesitation. Breakfast was simple and ample, but a little monotonous if you are staying several days like we did. There were apples available one day only, I would have loved fresh fruit daily. However, for the price it was a good deal, and coffee and tea is available in the lobby all the time. The dining area is very pleasant, an inner courtyard with a glass enclosed room. The Rex was a comfortable little hotel that made our stay in Stockholm very enjoyable. The breakfasts set us up for the day, and the free coffee and computer in the reception where very helpful additions. The one complaint we had was that we had asked for a double bed, and on arrival we had been given 2 singles pushed together. We enquired if this was […] the norm, and the receptionist very kindly offered to move us to a room with a double bed the following day. This hotel is a curious mix of the good and bad. The good: very helpful and professional staff, quiet neighborhood, and extremely convenient location. The bad: TINY double room and poor breakfast. Two walls of the bedroom were bare concrete and the other ones were properly finished. It looked as if the room had been renovated halfway. The only illumination […] was a small desk lamp, a small, LED overhead light and a small reading lamp on each side of the bed. The room was always dark, and the reading lights were so far above the bed they were useless. The bed itself was truly uncomfortable. It was the cheapest sort with no support for the mattress at all--essentially a piece of junk with stapled slats that would be found in a thrift store. Finally, the breakfast was truly the poorest I have had at any hotel in some time. It can only be described as meager, cheap, depressing, poorly prepared (unpeelable soft-boiled eggs), and poorly presented. It is apparent that management does not want to spend any money or effort making the Rex Hotel as good or comfortable as its other property across the street. It is the "poor sister." In summary, if you are willing to put up with a sad, small, uncomfortable room and a depressing breakfast in exchange for a good location, then you might be o.k. here. We managed to survive the experience, but I can't say we enjoyed the stay. Devamı

The hotel is in a quiet location within easy walking distance of the main tourist attractions and has a metro stop very near by. The staff were friendly and helpful . A nice touch is the free tea and coffee in the reception area. We were also able to use the facilities of its sister hotel across the road. The breakfasts were fine-plenty of different […] breads, crispbreads, cheese, eggs, ham and preserves -and (being a tea drinker!) a lovely choice of teas. The hotel is well-situated, and a 10-munte walk from both the old city centre and the university (KTH) which I was visiting. The rooms were spotless and the hotel is very well maintained. Excellent breakfast to welcome you every morning; easy access from the airport via train/bus and subway; not too far to walk to the main attractions (ie Old Stockholm, Vasa museum etc). Rooms are modest, but you don't really need much if you are out exploring all day. I'd come back!

This is a great option. The single rooms are small, but well done and comfortable. Great breakfast, good staff, and right around the corner from the T-bahn.

We recently stayed at the Rex Hotel for 3 nights, and in the expensive world of Stockholm hotels, this was a pretty good option for the price. It was neat and clean, and it is close to the T-bana (subway). It's only 2 stops from the Central Station and a couple more to the Gamla Stan (Old Town), and the daily complimentary Swedish breakfast was great […] and a cost saver. However, when they referred to a smaller room with a queen bed, they weren't kidding. Our college sons got the regular room with 2 twin beds, and we got the petite "queen" room - the room wasn't much bigger than the 2 twin beds that created the "queen" bed. They did provide us with a fan when we asked, and they gave us good advice for dining and shopping. They also arranged for a less-expensive taxi for our departure to the airport, but our wake up calls never came - ouch! Thankfully I had set a travel alarm for the early ride to the airport. The majority of guests were college age (including those staying in the Rex Petite Hotel in the basement of our building), so try to avoid a room that faces the street - it was pretty noisy with the window open at night. Small, unobtrusive, hotel one block off Sveavagen. Easy access to T-bana; walking distance to Sergels Torg. We were three people sharing a room and were very comfortable. No problem with adding an extra bed. We stayed at the Rex for a week and it was everything and more we expected. The staff were very helpful, polite and friendly. The free bean to cup coffeee in reception is real bonus, the breakfasts are fantastic and most importantly the beds are really comfy. The Wifi is free, but didnt work too well in the rooms but the staff again were very helpful […] : it turns out there is a cable connection in the roomand cables can be provided: maybe best to take your own. The Rex Hotel was a good deal in an expensive city. For a reasonable rate in July, we got a spacious room, wifi, and a good breakfast. Also, the metro stop is just around the corner and the neighborhood (Normalm) is safe and has good restaurants for dine in or take away. I would definitely stay here again.

Rex Hotel is well located in a quiet neighbourhood of Normalm, just one block from the nearest metro station. We found the hotel staff able to speak English perfectly and were very helpful, courteous and polite. Breakfast was simple and typically continental with breads, cereals, meats, cheese and jam. There are restaurants and cafes nearby, but there […] are better restaurants on offer a little further away - the hotel staff were happy to help make reservations if necessary. The hotel has a relaxed feel and is aimed at the leisure traveller. There was a PC with internet access available in the lobby and wifi in the public areas at no additional costs. We were very pleased with our stay at this small very clean hotel. It is in a tastefully refurbished older building on a quiet side street in a upper middle class neighborhood near the center of Stockholm and only a block away from the main subway system on which the central railroad and bus terminal are only two stops away. Also there are several first […] class restaurants in the vicinity which the staff will point out to you. The floors of rooms and corridors are of new highly polished wood and the walls freshly painted. The rooms and bathrooms are comfortable although a bit, but not uncomfortably small , as in most European non-luxuery hotels. In particular, the bathrooms have been rather stylishly and expensively redone and the rooms have a generous amount of storage space, a writing desk and two chairs. There is free internet access in each room and a flat screen TV with the BBC channel. The breakfasts are generous and served in a pleasanr solarium or in warm wearher on a patio. The staff are youthful and very fluent in English and are very knowledgeableand helpful. The complaint I have is one with all Scandanavian hotels in that a guest must sleep under a duvet (comforter) that is incased in a sheet like a pillowcase. For some people this is too warm, even in winter and one can rarely get a hotel to provide a regular sheet and blanket. Another complaint is the absence of a blackout curtain or shade to prevent one from awakening at the 4:00 AM sunrise in the Summer. Devamı

Nice hotel overall and the staff were always friendly and helpful however it is the 21st century so I was disappointed that the wifi only worked whilst sitting in the lobby which was inconvenient. If I had to pick a fault with the room, the bathroom always flooded due to the design. Seems to be common in Scandanavia??

I read the reviews of the Rex before I booked, and I found them to be very accurate. Sure the room is small, but there is a nice courtyard and a big room for the morning breakfast. The T-Bana (the underground transportation) connects right around the corner from the hotel - buy a week long SL card - and some bus stops are nearby also. Plenty of resturants […] and bars nearby, and you can get to the old town real fast on the green line of the T-bana if you want to go there. (I was at a conference at the University, and bus 70 takes you right there in <15 minutes.) I highly recommend this hotel! Devamı

Stayed in single room for 5 nights. Location very good, two minute walk from tube station and within walking distance to main shopping areas and you can walk to old town from here too easily.
