We had 2 nights in Honolulu on our way to Australia. We didn't rent a car and time was short so we opted for Waikiki where the prices are high. The Waikiki Shore (no one seems to know it as the Castle Waikiki Shore) seemed to offer the best value. It is an older condo hotel, with an efficiency kitchen, enough to have light meals. We had a studio, the […] cheapest, so the fridge was in the bedroom and very noisy. We unplugged it for the second night. The AC unit was equally noisy. We could step outside onto the beach with no roads to cross, and it is right next to the DeRussy park and Army museum. Street noise is loud here. Devamı

The mattress sofa in the room is in poor quality. You can feel the springs of the matress and couldn't sleep on top of it. There are additional $25 /night parking charge.

Over all this is an OK place to stay for the price. I realize most places charge for parking, but the spaces are barely big enough to park a compact car for $25 a day. They want you to pay for your daily coffee packet and detergent. There is NO Wifi available as stated. The elevator was stuck on more than one occasion. The overall experience is OK. + point: The location is very good, walking distance to shopping mall, restaurant. The housekeeper is very helpful. - points: The beach in front of hotel is always crowded. The furniture is outdated and the carpet is dirty.

Loved our view of the ocean and the park area. Close to the International Market Place. Rates were reasonable for a lovely balcony suite! (full kitchen, & a laundry area). Very clean and staff were very helpful. The hotel was small, but right next to other larger hotels that had restaurants and shops. Easy location for shuttles, bus, etc.

My boyfriend and I have travel to Oahu once a year for several years and we always stay at the Castle on Waikiki Beach. We especially like that two of front desk attendants have been there since our first stay at the Castle. One of the attendants, Isaac, ALWAYS recognizes us and that makes us feel special. It is apparent that Isaac enjoys and takes […] great pride in his job as he always bends over backwards to meet our every request. He is pleasant and good natured and we look forward to seeing him every year. Our room is always clean and quiet. Since Fort Derussy is adjacent to The Castle, almost every room has an unobstructed view from the lanai. I think that every room has a washer/dryer and a kitchen area. It is a privilege to have these amenities. The hotel staff is pleasant and accommodating. We like that The Castle doesn't feel like your typical, noisy, crowded resort. We were very happy with our apartment accommodation with everything within walking distance such as bus stops, ABC store etc. We had a lovely view overlooking the gardens and also a view of the beach. This hotel location is exellent. You can easly get to Waikiki beach. And ti is very convienient to use all gadget. But there is no swimming pool.

I will start with the pros. This hotel/condo is conveniently located on the beach and within walking distance to many restaurants and shops. Our Ocean View Deluxe Kitchenette room had a beautiful view of the ocean. They do not have a pool, but we spent most of our time on the beach anyway, so the pool didn't matter to us. The staff was friendly and […] they have a concierge in the lobby. Now for the cons. I was extremely dissappointed with the overall appearance and cleanliness of our room #614. The appliances were outdated, the furniture was all scratched up and it looked as if they haven't dusted in months. The shower door really needs a good cleaning and the shower head looked disgusting. We noticed some black spots on the shower ceiling which I thought was mold, but my husband took a wash cloth and wiped it off. Apparently it was just dirt which the cleaning service never bothered to wipe off. The only modern upgrade in the room was the flat screen TV. I did like the fact that they offered free internet service, that was a plus, however, they do not have WiFi, You have to plug your laptop into the modem. This place would be really nice if they would just do a few upgrades and get a better cleaning service. But with the condition it is in now I would definitely not go back nor would I recommend this place to anyone else. Devamı

This hotel has a great location! It is fantastic to be right on the beach. The room is clean and comfortable with a great view of the ocean and the city. Parking can be difficult, but you don't need a car in the city. We enjoyed our stay and would return with our family.

Close to everything, to Ala Moana Shopping and to the tourist bus terminal. Next to Army Museum, good restaurants, trendy hotels, tour operators. View of beach and the skyscrapers. Superb feeling of relaxation sitting on the balcony at night. Poor upkeep - telephone, ceiling fan etc. not working on the first day; did not supply bath towels on the last […] night. This would be a great place to stay mid vacation or at the end of a vacation when you want to relax more and stay in. It had a kichen to cook in, but we didnt use it bc we wanted to go try other food, but we did make coffee! There's all sorts of actiivities around and plenty of shopping and dinning! Spent a week at the Castle Waikiki Shore, with four days of jackhammering above us. The property is 20 years old with the condos individually owned. Many of the need remodeling. The managment never knows when reconstruction is being done and if you stay there at that time, you're out of luck. We had a lovely remodeled condo that met my family's needs, […] but it was too bad our stay was overshadowed by jackhammering 8 hours a day. I wish I knew about this before making the reservation. The hotel staff were very pleasant and accommodating, especially Isaac who works the front desk--he was especially helpful and kind. Although not a traditional hotel (condo rentals), it's location right next to the beach, overall cleanliness, and professionalism of the staff more than makes up for it. I stayed in PH 09 and the view couldn't have been any better! Loved the open feel! Furnished dishes and pans with the kitchen, nice little washer and dryer. Good size bathroom. I booked a queen but the bed was a king, so that was a nice suprise. Although the bed was hard as a rock, the pull out sofa bed was more comfortable. The room divider panels […] were coming apart and the blinds to the lanai were broken. The breaker blew quite frequently which was annoying and half way thru the week our cable box went out but maintainence came quickly and fixed it. This is the best value in Oahu! We stayed in the one bedroom condo with an ocean view and were VERY impressed. The view from the room was breath taking. You can see the ocean and park as well as Waikiki; a full 180 degree view. The condo was spacious and clean. We had four adults in the condo and used the full kitchen and the washer and dryer. The air […] conditioner worked very well. We were very comfortable. Note: The condo does not have a swimming pool and there are rocks only a few feet out in the ocean. We did not need a pool. The location of the hotel is just steps from Waikiki beach...this made it very easy to enjoy a day at the beach! It is close to shopping and restaurants. It also allows easy access to the trolleys. Although the room and it's furnishings were a little outdated, it was kept very clean! For the price and the location, this was definitely a diamond in the rough compared to higher priced hotels in the area. The view was amazing if you get the beach side view. My only qualms with the place is the parking. Very tight spaces. And the towels didn't look as clean as you would expect. Great views. We stayed on the 15th floor. It was awesome. We had both ocean views and city views. The room itself was nice. We had everything we needed. It was nice to be right on the beach. The area was great. It was right in the middle of all the excitement. Would recommend, and would stay there again.

Well located hotel, steps from the beach. While the hotel offers absolutely no amenities, the Outrigger on the Reef is next door and you can use the pool and business center, shop at the market and grab a bite at the restaurant. The staff at Castle Waikiki Shore is pleasant but make no mistake that this is not a hotel experience. My room was spartan […] and I found out that I had paid $100 more per night for a studio condo than a friend on a different floor, so check around thoroughly before you book. Our room was comfortable with a beautiful view. This property is both hotel & privately owned condos on the beach. The front desk people were polite but didn't give us information about some amenities available to us - beach towels, discount card for a nearby restaurant. And when we needed info. about locating an Internet Cafe to confirm our flight […] reservation we were given the wrong info. & wandered around before we finally got good directions. The plus was that we did save money on dining out by going to Walmart to shop for food, we had some meals & drinks in the condo. However, I missed the attention & service that you get in a hotel. We had a one bedroom ocean view on the 5th floor. It overlooked Fory DeRussey park, many beautiful trees and plants and had a nice view of the ocean. The lanai had a table and many chairs to sit on. The room was very clean and the staff kept it very clean during our stay. The kitchen and in room washer/dryer made it great for our family of four. The […] building is older, but still very nice. We just wanted a nice room to relax in and sleep in as we were out all day doing stuff. This room was great for that. There are no restaraunts on the property other than a Subway and a steak shack, but there are tons of places to eat within a few minutes walk. There is no pool, but the beach is right behind the hotel and the Pacific Ocean is pretty good substitute for a pool. They have free beach towels at the front desk. My only complaint was the bed. It was far too firm for me and the "king" we had was really two double mattresses siide by side. Other than that, it was a great place to stay. Devamı

We loved this place. No it is not the Trump Tower, but it was on the beach and had everything you need for a great stay! We were in room 1214. The view was fantastic!! There was a fully equipped kitchen, although other than the refrigerator, I didn't use it. One note: the coffee is provided the first day free, after that it is $1/package. There was […] a washer and dryer (I took single packets of wash soap I purchased before had as well as a few dryer sheets from home) and it was great to not have to take a bunch of dirty cloths home! Next door at the Outrigger Reef there is the Shore Bird Restaurant & Beach Bar. It was great! They have a wonderful breakfast buffet. Dinner is a salad bar and you cook your own meat on a big grill. It was fantastic!! Warning: Be careful going in the water outside the hotel. There is a lot of coral and the bottom is very rough! You can eaisly cut your feet! There are buses and trollys for everything so if you don't want to drive, garb a bus schedual. They are easy to use and cheaper than a cab. Our favorite tour was the Enoa tour to Pearl Harbor. I wish we would have booked the larger one now. I thought the small one would be ok, but if you have not seen it all, it is worth the money!! The Sunset Dinner Cruise was very nice. The food was great and it is worth it at least once. Lots of forgin tourists were on this tour. If we go back we will stay at the Waikiki Shore! It is a real gem! Devamı

Everything was soooooo great EXCEPT the bed was sooooooo uncomfortable - rock hard !!.....this is what can happen in a place where each unit has a private owner -- no consistency on bedding, and more hours are spent in the bed than any other place.....if the bed had been comfortable, I would not be able to say enough good thtings about this place....but […] something definitely needs to be done about the bedding.......some other guests complained to us about theirs as well !! Maybe the condo assoc. could require a certain quality of bed in each unit,,,,,,just a suggestion !! Sorry to say we will probably stay in a hotel next year just because of the bedding !! Devamı

Big attraction of the place is the awesome location, right on the beach and very close to centre of Waikiki. The accommodation is a 'condo' building built in the 1960's and rooms are quite large, however the quality of each would be limited by whoever owns it, no doubt leading to some mixed reviews regarding furniture, fitting, upkeep etc. We stayed […] for a week and found the service really good. Worth upgrading to an 'ocean view' room as given the park next door there's excellent uninterrupted view from your balcony. Free cable internet provided. There’s a few basic, small shops under the hotel, including subway, general store, take away food and water equipment hire (although this gear is heaps cheaper 50mtrs away along the beach). We had a one bedroom with view of the park the first three nights. The hairdryer didn't work, TV didn't work most of the time, and the clothes dryer didn't heat up. The management was very good at addressing each problem, but when they couldn't fix everything, they up graded us to a better unit for the rest of our stay.

We have returned to this Hotel and just as happy with staying there this time as before. Great kitchenette and laundry facility in room. You couldn't ask for a better location. Beach out a private door, close to lots of great restaurants, bus stop to Alamoha very close. Also a new Ross store opened only two blocks away. We were pleasantly surprised with the great location-next to the beach. Our room was very quiet, considering we were next to the elevator. The A/C in the room was a little loud-older model. And housekeeping did not come the first day. Other than that, it was great and we would return again.

It was great to be in a one bedroom condo on the 15th Floor "Pent House" without kids running around on the floor. The only part I wish would be great is to have a room not next to the elevator and more of the beach view not the Army Muesum but overall great!!

My main complaint is I booked a king size bed and what we got was to single beds pushed together, and the were not king singles as me and my wifes feet hung over the edge of the bed. The room was dated looked to be from the 60's, The walls were thin and it was noisy. The location can't be beat and the ocean view was great. The location is great but the building is showing its age and the room layout is poor. The Air con unit is wall mooted and located at the same level as, and a metre from the bed. Almost impossible to use during the evening. At least there is a ceiling fan. Housekeeping is mediocre and stingy with no replacement of basics like tissues etc.
