The location was excellent but the room didn't look nothing like what was pictured on the web page. I believe the cost was not worst the room, overall I would stay again but at a lower rate for this hotel

The hotel is comfortable and in a good location, steps from the ocean and local stores and restaurants.

The OB hotel, located on Abbot and Newport was the perfect spot for a weekend getaway. Both myself and my partner had frequented OB in the past and shared a love for the culture there, so when we returned, now without friends living in the area, we put ourselves in the center of it all with an view of the pier and soothing sounds of the waves crashing. […] If you know Ocean Beach you know there is a bit of commotion of transients and bar goers until bar time, so be aware that it's just part of the mystique. The local businesses are very friendly, and within steps of this hotel you can rent surf gear, have waffle ice cream sandwiches, happy hour and fish tacos, ocean walks and dog friendly streets and beaches, as well as a variety of amazing restaurants and standard bars. Great place, close to everything not more than a ten minute drive anywhere. Wish I couldv'e stayed longer!!!

GREAT LOCATION. The bed needs replacing. The hotel has potential. I would stay there again, hopefully in a room with a better bed.

Love the area. The hotel is in a very eclectic area...lots of activity. Lots of decent restaurants very close. The only complaint, no outlet in the small bath for drying your hair....this I believe is because of the age of the building. It is still under a bit of renovation in the courtyard. Would go again...have been there before.

Very cute, but definitely not quiet. Checking in was just fine. The staff was very nice. Everything in the room was good, smelt freshly cleaned with clorox . Which is a little bit of a turn off.. not a very fresh smell. But it was sanitary. The problem begins.. sleeping there is pretty much impossible if you have patrons next to you. Paper thin walls, […] I listened to my neighbors full on conversation about how her friend was such a hitch because....needless to say I know about her 99 problems. The only problem was it went on from 1am to 5am. I walked down to the reception desk. At 2am no body there... Went back at 330 he said he would call up there.. and ask them to be quiet.. funny cause I heard the phone ring and heard em say don't answer.. did he try again..don't think so. Didn't even walk up Nd knock on the door.. finely last time at 4 am ish my girfriend went down to ask if he could do something Bout the noise and he was not there so she knocked on the neighbors door ANd asked them to keep it down .. it was about 5am when we finally could not hear any voices next door.. Would not recommend this place unless you are a deep sleeper. Devamı

My sister and I stayed at the Ocean Beach hotel in OB, CA. for six nights. We loved the location (right by the ocean, close to shops and restaurants). The personnel was so friendly and kind. The only small inconvenience was the shortage of electrical outlets in the room. I would definitely recommend this hotel!

It's ob.... Not fancy but awsome and close as u can get to the water....great lil beachy hotel

Yes, our room was under the stairs. Thankfully, we had picked this hotel as a meeting place for a bunch of local friends with the intent to party. What we did not predict was that the room smelled like someone peed on the airconditioner...There was a spot on the floor...and the pee smell came from that area....I had a weird herbal deodorizer spray with […] me in case the room smelled like smoke. It only smelled like pee...we were able to get rid of the smell. And under the stairs...loud all night with foot traffic. Place could not be in a better location. Seriously...amazing location. If you don't plan to sleep, this is your hotel. Devamı

The King Sized ocean view room that will blow your mind. So close to everything INCLUDING the ocean!

Ocean Beach Hotel was perfect for our vacation. Clean rooms right on the beach. Walk to everything - never used car. Staff friendly.

The staff is very nice and helpful which makes for a pleasant stay. I would also like to mention an individual for going above and beyond (thank you Dave for room change). The hotel is located in a nice area, with plenty of places to eat close by and all kinds of entertainment . But the best thing about the hotel is that it is so close to the beach. […] We sure do miss the beach and the area itself. My wife and I hope to return soon . Devamı

The very well lit courtyard, so i slept on my left side. Next to the pacific! nothing could be that bad!!

the location of the hotel was excellent, the hotel itself was less than desireable. The bathroom had NO bathtub, and was so small you could not even believe for the price charged. There were NO electric plug in in the restroom. We did not even find the hair dryer tll the day we left. Had to stand in the bedroom to even find an electric outlet. There […] was NOBODY staffing the front desk during the evening. I was wakened by people smoking POT at night and nobody answered the phone at the front desk. I almost called 911 but feared for my own safety. When a business does not respond during the evening, for my personal safety, I say, DONT stay here. When I told the morning Staff about the situation the prior evening, they could not respond. Many homeless folks on the beach in the area, no responsibility from the hotel, no responsibility from the hotel regarding paying customers, calls for HORRIBLE vacation. Thank whomever that I was able to come home safely. DONT STAY HERE, THE WEB PAGE IS NOT WHAT YOU EXPERIENCE THERE AND MANAGEMENT DOES NOT ADDRESS THE PROBLEM WHEN YOU ALERT THEM TO IT. CLOSE THIS HORRIBLE HOTEL. SERVICE DOES NOT EXIST. I do plan on returning to San Diego,however I will never stay Here again... And don t even let me talk about parking or the lack there of. My truck was damaged and by whom knows who.. when I asked a couple of young women in the parking lot for hotel, they said, I cannot drive, ask my mom, of course. mom was no where to be found. Web sites says parking available, good luck finding one. HORRIBLE, HORRIBLE. D0nt say here for the price you pay. Mgnt does not address concerns when you tell them. Motel 6 is way better than this. Everything in the room just seemed like it's leftover stuff from the seventies, and all kind of dirty/worn/broken to varying extents. It ain't the Ritz. However, I didn't much care, since I was there for the neighborhood, and there aren't many/any other options. If you like beer, go to the pizza place / ale house right nearby.

I was aware of the hippie activity and homeless people in OB before I made my reservation. So, in other words I'm basically fine with it. I wanted to be able to put my wetsuit on, then run across the street to surf. Then walk to get a beer and food. I like it here, it's not the nicest of places, but it's great for surf travelers and other non-yuppie […] people. If you're a tourist from the east coast, or some fat person from the midwest this may not be the place for you. But for your typical surfer or skater, it's Great! Devamı

The Ocean Beach Hotel sits about as close as you can get to the beach. Now for the negatives. We paid extra for an ocean view. Yes, we could see the ocean, but we could also see the busy activity happening right below our balcony. In the first three hours we were there, we witnessed more police interactions than we had seen in the previous ten years! […] The hotel sits on the corner of homeless haven. From sleepers on the sidewalks to trash divers, we saw it all. Now, don't get me wrong, I am not a heartless meanie with my nose in the air. I am actually a social services kind of person. BUT, I was on vacation to relax and get away from it all. This did NOT happen. We could not sit on the balcony in peace. There was always some kind of seedy activity happening below us. Now for the room itself. I've stayed in Motel 6 and others like it, and have said I would never stay in something like that again. Well, this was worse. Every piece of fabric (bedding, carpeting, chairs, drapes) was damp and sticky. The bathroom is a joke. I seriously can only laugh at whoever designed a bathroom with the toilet halfway under the pedestal sink. You literally had to sit sideways on the toilet! If I had known better, I might have stayed in a non-ocean view room on the other side which overlooked the courtyard which was kind of cute. Oh, and I also would only have paid about one quarter of what I actually paid. And then spent as much time as possible on the beach, only sleeping in the room. This hotel is the only one in the area. Maybe if they boarded up the ocean view windows and had all rooms overlooking the inner courtyard, it might be tolerable for a very low price. Devamı

The location of this hotel was excellent. Great view of the pier & sunsets. Surrounded by restaurants & bars & music. Hotel was old but kept very clean. Freindly staff. Would stay again.

I really enjoyed staying at this hotel. It is in a great location.You walk outside your hotel and you are on the beach!The hotel court yard is so cute. Must have a burger at Hodads...it's right up the street from the hotel.Best burger I have ever had!! Overall a really great place to stay!

Being close to the beach was essential and this hotel met that need. I was able to overlook the age and condition of the hotel. The room was very SMALL but clean but with a very strong musty smell. The main service prompt. Refg, microwave and hair dryer were all in place. The afternoon check in clerk was not extremly helpful but the day shift clerk […] was great. We stayed because it's the only hotel in ocean beach. We stayed once before with our dog. So, our expectations were not unreasonable. The "dog" room had tile floors and was much cleaner. The person at the front desk was rude when we checked in. It has a nice courtyard & is right across the street from the beach. We will stay again, but will upgrade […] to a better room. Devamı

Hotel très simple voire cheap mais très bien situé / mer. Quartier populaire. Sympa pour des jeunes en quête de soirées animées (bar bondé juste en face), et pas dérangés par le bruit (on entend tout, la télé du voisin, le parking en face, les gens dans la rue et les pas du voisin du dessus...).
