The garden was gorgeous, the service was excellent and the music was retro like from the 60's. Very nice, warm service, lovely gardens, and the breakfast choices are lovely and sufficient. Wine at 5pm is also very nice. Would stay there again.

This hotel locks it's doors at 9pm. My meeting wasn't over until 9:20 and since I was late to the meeting I didn't get a chance to check in until 9:30 pm. The problem was with the phone outside the hotel--I tried dialing the number you were supposed to call for late registration (since my bill had been paid in advance I really wanted to get settled […] in my room) and the line was busy. I tried dialing several other numbers that Were associated with the hotel and they were all busy! After about 10 minutes I was able to reach the person to unlock the door. It's great to stay in a building that is considered historical. The decor, the garden and the neighborhood are very quaint. The service was great and the breakfast was very good with a menu you can order from, so it's not your ordinary continental breakfast! Only complaints are the room is not sound-proof and the sink in the bathroom is small. In the middle of the night we heard a loud door slam and some foot-steps. This Victorian hotel was quite nice. The lobby area and dining room were very authentic Victorian, as we're the rooms. The breakfast was wonderful and ample! Great scones. The room seemed awfully small for the price. But we really enjoyed our stay, especially the garden.

The back garden has all of your favorite plants and fountains and magnificent wrought iron furniture to sit on while you meditate. This old (built in1882) Victorian house meticulously maintained where you're treated to a welcome glass of complementary local wine while you sit by the comfortable fire and listen to the player piano and play games or read […] books and then retire to your cozy room. I had a lovely time at the Centrella. It was a very warm and friendly place. My only struggle was that our room was underneath the stairwell and every time someone used the stairs in the early morning, it was extremely loud (even worse was the sound of suitcases being dragged down). The Centrella Inn is a charming B&B conveniently located in Pacific Grove on the Monterray Peninsular. We had a ground floor basic room and it was that, basic. Rooms and the bathrooms are very small. The windows open however the window sills are not kept clean which was not pleasing. The armoire for your clothes is not kept clean on top and if you are alergic to dust, beware!

Very nice place to stay. Exenllent breakfast! A little bit noisy

This is a place you come with your partner when you are not concerned with time. NOT for business...no clock in the room, no wake up call. Internet service not good, room was extrememly small. You may call it quaint, I call it too small. The best thing about it was breakfast.

The hotel was well maintained and the staff is very friendly and rooms are clean, neat and cozy. The building creaks a bit when walking up the stairs or the upstairs neighbors are walking around, but otherwise it is very peaceful and charming. Beds were fairly comfortable. Great location!! I would stay here again.

It is hard for us to find a hotel that fits our needs. We have a toddler that must sleep in a room separate from me and my husband's and we have a dog. The cottages at Centrella fit our needs perfectly. They had a crib and highchair, private patio for our dog and a really hardy home-made breakfast everyday. Plus the parking is free and it's only a 20min. […] walk to the Monterey Aquarium. And only 2 blocks from the Bay and 1 block from cute historic Pacific Grove, with lots of stores, cafes and restaurants. The room was a bit cozy and a little "long in the tooth" but completely sufficient and reasonably priced (we were there over Christmas). Staff was friendly and grounds were beautifully maintained. The price was very reasonable and we loved the location. We like to walk and you are 1/4 mile from the beach trail, 1 mile from cannery row. Many restaurants and shops close by. The room was small but we were only there to sleep. Great free breakfast and wine and cheese.

We called to make a reservation for this hotel. We got a receipt that said we had paid in full. When we got there the staff told us we had to pay an additional $110 because we had a dog and they had to book us in the cottage, but I had clearly mentioned that when I did the booking. The lady at the desk had to call her manager but she gave us the option […] of going or paying extra. That service was not very customer friendly nor plesant when we arrived. I did not like them putting us in this position, this was clearly not our fault. We did it anyway because we did not want to go home. We had a cottage room in the garden at the Centrella Inn. Very private, short stroll across the flower-filled patio and up a short flight of stairs to where we could sit at a little table on the porch and look at the beautiful garden. The Inn was very nice. Unfortunately, we had Room #2, which faced the street. We were up most of the night from the street noise. If you are staying there, please make sure that you do not accept a room facing the street. Other than that, everything was fine. The Happy Hour and breakfast were great.

The Staff was so warm and friendly! The best coffee and scones, ever! They were so kind that when I complimented the scones I received a copy of the recipe. The only thing I would like to see is the antique furniture in our room restored a little...the armoire seemed to be falling apart and the night stands could use some "fixing up". Super cute bed and breakfast! Must stay if visiting Monterey or Pacific Grove! Really beautiful, right out of the 1800's. Very authentic and romantic. Location is good. Walk down to Lovers Point. Quick drive to Cannery Row and Monterey. The breakfast was wonderful! A real breakfast!! Price is pretty reasonable. Must stay at the Centrella!

Nice place to stay while in the Monterey area. However, like the other reviews stated, there is a bit of street noise. Everyone at the inn is accomodating and we loved the afternoon wine & cheese!

First time staying in a bed and breakfast. Will definitely be returning to Centrella on our next Monterey trip. Breakfast was delicious and wine hour was fun and relaxing. Bed was very comfortable and we left extremely relaxed and rested. Staff are very friendly and helpful. Very pleased to have tried a b&b for the first time here.

The Centrella Inn was very close to the ocean, the aquarium and Cannery Row. The whole place was beautiful and the staff was excellent. This is the first B&B that had reasonable hours for breakfast. When we checked in, the room they gave us had an issue with the toilet, but they immediately gave us a different room when we informed them. The only negatives […] I can think of is the extreme lack of parking (we had to park 2 blocks away and walk in the rain to get to the hotel) and you can hear all the street noises. Beds not so comfortable, otherwise very quaint.

Generally a nice place to stay. No TV in the rooms is not a problem. Rooms definately on the small size though. Nice breakfast provided. Probably over priced, but what isnt in Monterey?

We found our room to be close to the main street (Central), poorly insulated, and thus much too noisy. Plus we could hear folks walking on the stairs and in the hall outside our door. This made it difficult to sleep. Plus the room had no television, no hair dryer....it was pretty spartan.

This is a great B&B, right in the heart of Pacific Grove. It was easy to tell that a lot of hard work had gone into the decor and the creation of this delightful space. The owner/employees were all very friendly and accommodating. We had a wonderful experience. We'll be recommending to our friends!

The Centrella Inn has the perfect ambience for enjoying the surrounding community of Pacific Grove. The breakfast is fantastic, and the wine and cheese serving in the afternoon by the warm fire was a wonderful way to unwind after a busy day.

Great location, lovely garden patio, great staff, comfortable and homey rooms. There wasn't any noise problems that I read about for so many of the locations.

Old, beautiful victorian hotel. While it shows around the edges (heat was hard to get right in room, Challenging tub/shower), we had a lovely time including very nice breakfast, a helpful staff and a great location.

This B&B offers great value for your money. There's a wine & cheese reception and various breakfast choices. The place was clean, both in the general areas as well as the room. Location is great, close to Lover's Point, which offers a great view of the Monterey Bay. Service was really good, yet not overwhelming.

This was a fantastic Bed & Breakfast! The location was amazing, just a short walk from Lover's Point and a decent sized walk from the Monterey Bay Aquarium. Just a short drive away from Cannery Row and Carmel by the Sea. Centrella itself was great! The breakfast was delicious and was always served with a smile. Coffee, tea and hot water were available […] all day, as well as ice water with cucumber. Every evening there were snacks with complimentary wine and every night the house would fill with the smell of fresh baked cookies. My wife and I would sit out and play Centrella's scrabble at night and we would enjoy the nice sitting area. If we are ever in the area again, we will definitely be staying at Centrella. Devamı

We only stayed for a weekend. The staff was courteous and actually gave us a free upgrade. We stayed in a third floor room which was quaint, but a bit cold. The window was old and there was a constant draft. Other than that, it was fine. You are able to choose from a breakfast menu and the food was good. The Centrella is not a converted single family residence; it was built in the 1880s as a boarding house, so the overall layout is perfect for a bed and breakfast. The staff was very personable and helpful in every aspect. We considered them as friends. We particularly enjoyed the breakfast each morning, which was ordered off a menu and prepared by chef(s). […] There was a beautifully landscaped garden with a water feature and ample porches. We were in easy walking distance to good restaurants, the beach at Lover's Point, the Cannery Row and the Monterey Aquarium an Wharf areas. We enjoyed the wine, cheese, and hors d'ovres each evening and the interaction with the other guests. This also made a full Dinner optional. We will consider the Centrella as our home away from home on future trips to the Monterey Peninsula Devamı

We have finally experienced the American version of Fawlty Towers! This is a very noisy Bed and Breakfast due to loud street noise and thoughtless guests and no sound proofing in the walls. the bed was very comfortable but the pillows were very flat and contained what we thought might be small door knobs. Breakfast was very good!

The staff at Centrella Inn are very welcoming. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Pacific Grove is a great place to relax and explore.
