for last min book i seen better motel. we had to share the bathroom and shower with the other guest not what im use to.

Yeah there were shared the bathrooms and showers totally unexceptionable should've been informed before booking

Not a place to bring anyone, very close to a hostile enviroment.

Run down hotel. It's cheap and could have been worse but not a place i'd recommend

This place has bathrooms and showers in the hall way the pictures on here are not of what ur room will look like i paid for the better room and it was not what i saw on this site save ur money gas and time unless you like hole in the wall hotels if not this is not the place pmus u got to pay for parking

Would NEVER stay at that hotel ever again.

Location is prime, rooms are basic but clean and secure. Building is historic, with a beautiful facade and lobby. Close to transit, including Union Station. Value can't be beat! Immediate neighborhood is mixed, with a decent selection of restaurants and bars, but also a high population of homeless people who beg and sleep on the streets. Ghetto hotel, it's nore like a hostel.

Horrible location, but extremely cheap. Park down the street for $9 instead of next door for $15. Didn't test the wi-fi in the room. Shared showers. Good for a guy to sleep a night or two, but that's it.

Had a great time. It was 2 males going to a concert so all we needed was a place to stay. Perfect for that kind of trip

I LOVE the Cecil and I LOVE the employees. It is one of the remaining hotels left where you feel you can go back in time but not in a scary or negative way. To be honest i wouldn't spend my whole time in LA here, but the main reason is that Downtown LA is a hole, not that the Cecil is. That being said i had no issues with the locals. Having come from South America i had no problem with shared bathrooms. It was around the corner from the American Lion bus station. For half the price of what i paid in […] Hollywood it was good. I was very disappointed for choosing this hotel. I cheeked in and checked out right away. I did not like it at all. this is the worst hotel I ever seen in USA. Hotels.com should take out this kind hotels from the list. If I am going to book for near future I would not use Hotels.com unless there is some change in your list.I will try to get my refund […] from the hotel.com. Everything was very good, the young lady at the desk was non-professional, other than that it was a good experience.

If you like old glam Los Angeles than I highly recommend this Hotel IF you get the discount rate. Bathrooms are not connected to each room but the balcony is amazing! Very Quaint and affordable, UNLESS YOU ADD PARKING. This Hotel DOES NOT provide free parking for it's customers regardless of what they tell you, and the locals have a $20 a half day scam […] going on. Loved the Hotel, hated the walking and parking. The hotel lobby was really nice, the surrounding neighbor hoods wre not that good, the rooms were really really small as well, I had to pay extra just to have a bathroom in my room, I probably won't stay there again unless on a real real tight budget plus there are no parking

The hotel conditions are not as shown in the pictures on the internet. The room was not clean and it had a funny smell, also the bed was very old and not comfortable at all. The towels they provided were dirty. The internet service was really bad. In general I do not recommend this hotel.

Poor Internet connection. Wifi only available in the lobby, slow connection. The 4g connection is not good in the room either.

The only real problem I had with the hotel is that the floor shares two community toilets and two community showers. I didn't have a big problem with the community aspect of this. I only had a problem that the toilet room didn't have a trash can or a sink.. Our room had a sink but no paper towels or soap, and then there was a soap dispenser in the hall […] way. Interesting stay to say the least but overall it was a really nice hotel and the staff was kind. The hotel is pretty much in the Fashion District of L.A. so it's a good place to be if you like to shop. :) Devamı

This hotel is the worst I have ever stayed in. The pictures they post on various websites are misleading. The lobby is beautiful. But everything beyond the elevator is a total dump. When I got to my room, I was shocked at how bad it was. I went back down to the front desk, and asked for a new room. One like the pictures online. They told me that there […] were no rooms like those. The carpets were dirty, the walls cracked, the molding falling off the walls, the only thing missing were spider webs. Locals warned me not to walk more than one block in a particular direction. There were homeless people all over outside, sirens all night long, it was a miserable experience. No parking meant I had to pay $15 more a day to park my car. My advice: Don't stay here, unless you have low standards. I personally don't need the best. Just ask for a clean safe place. This was neither. Only stay here if you don't have children with you, and you don't mind being in a dirty, dangerous area. Devamı

The hotel served it's purpose, as somewhere reasonay priced reasonablely and convenient . The outside shared bathrooms where inconvenient and cold. Also quite noisy in night.

The Cecil is, well, an affordable hotel in a phenomenal location. Could it be better updated? Sure. Could it be fancier? Sure. Is it on par with middle-of-the-road European hotels? Also sure. If you're used to pampered stays and over-lavish resort hotels, skip it. If you enjoy Americana, the golden age of Hollywood, and life in general, stay at the […] Cecil. Excellent price in the heart of an up-and-coming arts/culture district, with delicious food and phenomenal cocktails within mere blocks. Yes, there are some poor people on the streets--but that's the reality of American cities. But they're very friendly! :) I will absolutely not hesitate to stay here again. The lobby is incredible, a marble luxury blast from the past. Yes, the rooms are not prestine but they are clean and it is a great value for what you pay. Very happy overall but be aware that there isn't a kettle in the room and the coffee shop in the Hotel opens at 6 am, so if you have jet lag and you are up early, you can't have a hot drink.

Its a good hotel for an overnight or even a couple of nights stay, if you simply want a room to sleep. The hotel does not offer much. However, it is conveniently located, in a downtown area that is quickly revitalizing, there is plenty of public parking close-by, and its great for the price.

Two good things about this hotel are the convenient location, and the cheapest price in the area. Everything else makes you miserable. Interior and furniture are old and not well maintained. Because there is not enough space, the chest is positioned right in front of the bed, in some rooms, making it impossible to open some of the drawers. Carpet has […] stains and tears. Bedding supplies are old and worn out. What was most surprising was that they is no heat in guest rooms. (I didn't know it was legally acceptable in LA!) Heed my warning everyone: Do not go to this location. This is the worst location we have been to. The entrance looks like a 7-star hotel, the rest I wouldn't bother giving negative 1 star. Pricewise they might be ok, but everything else is just a mess. The pillows were worn out from the inside. The restrooms have hardly any place where you can hang […] clothes. The restroom door looks like 100+ years old and the white paint is coming off. There were blood marks or maybe something red to the left of the restroom door. The mirror inside the restroom had a cabinet behind it which looked disgusting as if it wasn't cleaned for years. I prayed god before using the towels in the restrooms because you never know if they were clean or not. Although, the towels looked ok, but suspicion always arises in this kind of place. The bed which we slept on was higher on one side and lower on the other. The TV was close to 20 years old. There were 4-5 locking mechanisms for the room door as if someone was going to come to our room and rob us. There was no Air conditioning, but there was a old fan. The room keys were just ordinary metal keys. The elevator's interior looked like a prison cell or something. THE MOST DISTURBING THING WAS: LOTS OF NOISES COMING ALL NIGHT LONG. We have no idea where the voices were coming from. Once again everyone, heed my warning because you will regret it. It looked more like a hotel for prostitution than for civil people like us. I might be exaggerating a bit here, but this is the truth and truth only. All of this sounds funny, but this is what we experienced. The reception service where they checked us in was ok, but again everything else was revolting. When we booked our rooms, we didn't pay attention to the rooms because WE HAVE NEVER BEEN TO THIS KIND OF HOTEL BEFORE. Devamı
