Boardwalk Resort Hotel And Villas - Virginia Beach

Room was tiny.

Hotel was fine. Nothing special. However, I took the three nights for the price of two and was given a room tucked in the corner without a balcony or even a window that opened. Disappointing for an oceanfront hotel. I wish I had been informed of this at the time of booking as it would have affected my decision on either the hotel or the rate.

First the bad - When booking the room there was some confusion as to what we were getting, so we called the hotel to ensure it would have 2 bedrooms for us and our kids and were assured it would. It did not, but it did have a sleeper sofa and we made do. Upon arrival they were an hour late getting the room ready so we had to hang out and wait. The maid […] service was not stellar, but not horrible, and there is debate between my wife and I as to wether the pool was adaquetely clean. The Good. The rooms were totally furnished and supplied with cooking and cleaning utensils, the bed we had was very comfortable. The location was perfect, close to a really good mexican restaurant (Cancun Fiesta), and right next door to a Dairy Queen that served the beach. The Boardwalk had excellent beach access and was the only hotel we saw that had lighting for their section of the beach so we were able to play with our young kids on the beach until late at night. The pool was a decent size, I wouldn't call it big, but big enough for children to play in when the weather is bad. The front desk staff was excellent. Very helpful, polite, pleasant, can't say enough good about them. They had a couple of concierges who apparently are charged with pushing time share sales, but they quickly made their pitch, and then left it alone. After the quick mention of time share sales, the concierge was incredibly helpful and nice. Angie was one of them and she gave us directions to a local grocery store, and even ran us down on the street one day to say hello and let us know of an activity deal they had at the time - she was awesome. They had discount tickets to local attractions - not big discounts but every buck helps (for example, Busch Gardens tickets were $3 discounts on $60 tickets, plus we didn't have to stand in line at the park to buy the tickets). The staff was friendly, but the hotel itself was not so great. My room was supposed to be a "city view" but instead had the view of the parking lot so we could hear people driving in and out all day. It was also incredibly small. The bedsheets were stained. The fire alarm for the whole hotel went off the first night and the fire alarm in our room went […] off the second night. I would reccomend this hotel to anyone who enjoys quality customer service. We only spent the weekend but definetly come back

The negatives: the parking garage was easily overfull (we got the last space available when we parked, and it was off season), the advertised restaurant was closed for the season, and more importantly, the unadvertised bed size turned out to be a full (smaller than a queen), and slightly broken. On the positive, the room came with a nice kitchenette, […] and the view from the balcony was great. Too bad sleeping in the room was uncomfortable. In the height of summer, that may matter less to other people, but for folks staying overnight in off season, its kind of important at these rates. Devamı

We were here for a spring break lacrosse tournament and really enjoyed this hotel and the location. The only downfall was the restaurant was closed and they also don't have a business center to print out documents however the front desk was more than accomodating to do this for us.

My fiancee and I had a terrific stay at this hotel. It was clearly offf season and many neighboring stores were not open. But we managed to enjoy a lovely stay. The room was perfect size. One full size bed and the convenience of a kitchen was all we needed. The refrigerator was good size and the cabinets held all the utensils and dishes we needed. They […] even had mixing bowls! The bathroom was very roomy and I was impressed with the towel origami. The people were helpful. THe concierge provided tickets and directions to the Aquarium and nearby restaurants. I arrived in Norfolk early and stopped at the hotel to check in early. They told me that there were no rooms available, but would have plenty in about 2 or 3 hours and promised to call when a room was available. I requested an upper floor and the desk clerk said that would not be a problem. I never received the phone call and was put in a room that […] was on the 3rd floor because all of the suites on upper floors were already taken. When I tried to extend my stay to attend a conference, the process was not easy and I was told that they could not help me. Devamı

I booked a oceanfront room but when we checked in was issued a oceanview room. They said that was all they had available and was sorry for the confusion. The room was small but clean and fit our needs. I was just disappointed that it was not oceanfront.

I absolutely enjoyed my stay at this hotel. The room was very nice. I was able to shop for a few items at a local grocery store and then cook them right in the comfort of my room. Even with the bad weather, I enjoyed my room, the view of the ocean and city lights, all at the same time. It was very relaxing.

Comfy room, great ocean views...and the hotel staff were very friendly and helpful!

After having to change hotels in the middle of the night, this place was nothing short of a dream come true. They made me and my friend feel so welcomed. They were more than happy to provide us with anything we needed. They even gave us some advise about getting refunded from the other hotel. The staff was so pleasant. I cannot wait to go back.

The bed was a full size and hard. The windows did not have black out curtains, nor did the curtain go across the windows. The street lights made the bedroom feel as if we were sleeping below the street lamp itself. In the middle of the night we also heard gun fire, though it was New Years Eve, this made us uncomfortable.

The Boardwalk Hotel and Resort in Virginia Beach gets top marks all around. In January my wife and I spent two wonderful nights at the Boardwalk. Our unit was a timeshare property with two large rooms. One was living room, dining room and full size kitchen. The second was bedroom, bath and small walk out balcony with an ocean view. The Hotel is in the center of the beach area, with many of the attractions within walking distance or an easy drive. The exercise room, pool and large hot tub are also first rate. My husband and I went to the beach for New Year's Eve. I am 6 months pregnant and we thought it would be great to just get away and relax in a comfy resort. Well, we saw the amazing lights on the boardwalk and went to visit family that night. We got back around 1pm and there was no parking, we understand because it was New Year's Eve. However the "security" […] guard who was checking plates did to have cars towed did not make the two cars move that were not suppose to be there, even after my husband mentioned it to him. He told us to park on the 1st floor, after trying to back up and turn around in our S550 Mercedes we finally made our way down the ramp only to get a flat tire from what seemed to be broken glass. By this time my husband was really upset and the resort didn't even bother to pay for towing (the least they could do since their security guard was not doing his job). Our one night away ended up costing us $800 (room, towing, and tire). The front desk manager the next day did some research for us ( I was not about to try and find a place on New Year's day being that we were not from the area). The front desk manager was very nice and ready to help anyway she could. I will not stay there again, but I will try the Ocean Beach Club Resort. Devamı

Good hotel. Good service. Parking garage wasn't as bad as others stated in my opinion. Right on the beach. Can't beat it!

Right on the Va. Beach boaredwalk, this resort was very convienent to the ocean and events.The unit was decent, with a large enough kithen and dining area for 6. The living area had a sectional with loose pillow backs, which were removed for someone to sleep on. However, the living area doesn't have a balcony, just floor to ceiling windows. The balcony […] is in the bedroom, which was smallish.The bathroom is large and has only one sink.It did have a jetted bathtub.The queen size bed was a bit hard, but I slept fine. Worked for us as a weekend Getaway. It was off season so the prices were good. It rained the whole time but you can't blame the hotel for that. They did a good job.

The only thing we didn't like was the size of the room and the size of the bed. We assumed the room would be at least the size of a standard hotel room and that the bed would be a queen but they were not. The bed was not much bigger than a twin and the room wasn't big enough for a desk. We had to use the top of the bureau for our laptop, keys, etc. […] The staff are great and the location is super. It was the first time my 14 & 15 y/o girls had been to the beach & they had a blast. They swam in the indoor pool because it was too windy when we were there. We walked everywhere & didn't even return to the car until we were leaving.

My stay at Boardwalk was magnificant! The room was spacious and extremely comfortable and clean. Location was ideal for everything our family needed. The staff was about the most polite and courteous group that I have ever been around.

Simply top notch. Went out of their way to make our family vacation memorable. I ran my first 1/2 marathon at the Shamrock 1/2 marathon.

Both the bed and room was exceptionally small. The bed was also very saggy, I was really expecting alot more for the money. The hotel itself was fine unfortunately the room was below expectations.

Place wasn't too pricey, and the hotel room was better than I expected. Very spacious, and it had a rather nice kitchen set up. I wish I could have hung around longer than just a weekend, because it was a nice hotel. I, also, was able to book this just a couple weeks in advance during a very busy weekend for Virginia Beach.

the Boardwalk is centrally located at the heart of Va Beach, with a lovely view, both of the city life, and the ocean. The atmosphere at the Beach is family oriented, but plenty to do for all ages , lots of police for safe night walks. Entertainment on the streets and close to the fishing pier.
