Walls were very thin. I could hear the tv in the room next to me and I could tell it wasn't up louder than normal. Room was very small and didn't have a fridge and micro like the description said...unless I misread. Next time I visit, I will spend a little more money and stay across the street. The hotel was clean and easy to get to. The hallways need to be repainted because the spackling could be seen through the thin paint but otherwise, no complaints. The rooms were clean, the linens clean and new (no holes or stains), and the bathrooms were clean as well. They even provided a dark washcloth for women to remove their makeup with, which […] was nice to see since it helps to avoid staining the white towels. The front desk staff was quick and efficient and, even better, nice. Continental breakfast was available and looked good, but we never took advantage of it. The parking lot is well lit and the hotel is located right next to an Ihop and across the street from a really good smokehouse, but can't remember the name of it. I had a 2 night stay. The room was very clean and quiet. The cabinets showed a little wear and tear in the kitchenette part of the room. Really liked the no smoking policy of this hotel. The front desk attendants were pleasant and helpful. this hotel obviously needed some maintenace. They could buy some new sheets also. Although they were clean they had some staining. If I didn't have to stay here due to the fact I had prepaid I would have checked out and gone down the street.

Everything was just as described. Excellent place to stay and convient location.

The rooms were clean AND smelled clean. (Yeah for non smoking rooms! ) I loved the white comforter covers. - Much nicer than dingy don't know if they've been washed bedspreads in many other hotels. Internet worked great. The carpets were a little shabby which was my only complaint. Bright lobby. Easy to get into town.

I was a little surprised that there was no personal coffee pot in the room. I stayed in a Comfort Suites the previous night (in Peoria, Illinois). The price was almost identical and it had a coffee pot, microwave and refrigerator/freezer, and the room was larger. It was slightly disappointing.

The Microtel Hotel in Springfield, IL is a nice, clean hotel. They had a nice breakfast that had many choices, and our room was impeccable. Anyone who complains about this hotel should stay at a Days Inn and compare. The staff was friendly and courteous and we will stay in Microtels again if given the chance. This was a great value. Everything was as expected.

BEWARE - discount price=discount service!! Beds were not made up and towels were not refreshed. Apparently, guests are supposed to put a piece of literature on your bed so the cleaning staff knows to change the linens. No one at check in mentioned this and the literature was not immediately visible in room; as it was on a shelf under nightstand. Also, […] make sure towels are in a heap on the floor (not hanging up to dry), otherwise they won't be refreshed either. There were no towels in pool area, so my daughter came up to rooms soaking wet. When towels were requested for our room, I was asked to come down to the front desk to get them, as the desk clerk was the only employee on site. Breakfast was minimal, only had hard boiled eggs on first morning. No toast, only cinnamom bread and french toast type bread to toast in toaster. Devamı

Newer hotel, overall was clean, friendly people. Toilet in our room jiggled when sitting on it, carpeting was starting to tear near bathroom entrance, and the room was extremely small, pool small also...only 3 ft. deep. However, the room was clean, the bed was comfortable, and it was more affordable than most hotels. It was okay.

clean nice rooms....the pool is almost a funny joke with the size it is....of course the name Micro in the Hotel name kinda clues you a bit.

It was all very nice for the price. The employees were very nice and friendly. Everything went well for our stay. Thank you.

The Microtel Inn is easy to get to off of I-55, has alot of surrounding amenities (restaurants, and such) and is a good budget motel. For one night it worked perfectly. The 2-queen room was just barely spacious enough and clean. You won't get the luxury feel, but you're not paying for it either. The included breakfast is your typical simple pastries, […] cereal, juice, milk, coffee, etc. For a one-night stop over I recommend it for its value. Double queen bed room was small but very comfortable for 1 or 2 people. Beds and linens were very comfortable. Hotel looked pretty new so was in good condition. Decent area with a lot of restaurants nearby including an IHOP across the parking lot and an Applebees across the street. Breakfast was not the fanciest but for the price was fine. All I'll say.. you get what you pay for. There was a wierd smell - like mold or sewage water in the room. very small room, which is fine but a family of 4 is tight. Beware of weekend breakfast,,,, they "save" the good stuff for the business people during the week so you have toast and coffee on the weekend.. that's about it. Can't beat the rate, but the rooms are sickly becoming tired and need some tlc to maintain fixtures. Plumbing fixtures were falling off in shower, a/c condensate drip pan was obviously plugged as carpet in room was wet from a/c, closet doors and drawers were broken.

not bad at all small room but for the price it was very nice

Bed was extremely hard, no extra pillows (the ones available were extremely flat - no support). Turned on air conditioning - blew out stale musty air, have been sick ever since. Soda stains on the wall. Employees were very nice.

Our room was large and clean. I particularly liked the window seat, which proved to be a very comfortable place to sit and read and watch a storm. My only complaint was with the breakfast. We were there for breakfast Friday through Sunday, and Friday's breakfast was ok -- some fresh fruit, hard-boiled eggs, and mediocre pastries. They didn't have fruit […] on the weekend. A passel of Little Leaguers and their families were there on the weekend and they managed to eat absolutely everything -- I swear, they were like locusts. There didn't appear to be enough staff to keep the desk staffed and to have someone put out more food and to clean up after the locusts -- I mean kids. The breakfast really wasn't acceptable. We will stay here again, but -- like we had to do on Saturday and Sunday -- we will plan on eating out. (Although that does make the hotel less of a bargain.) Devamı

The desk clerk was very nice and professional. After check-in, we went through the lobby to go out and eat, and he asked if everything was okay in the room and told us that if we needed anything, to let hime know. Quite a few nice restaurants around the area. Clean and efficient hotel.

My family stayed one night here, and were overall pleased with the hotel. Beds were comfortable, breakfast was so-so. Toaster burned the bread easily, the coffee was undrinkable. I went to IHOP next door for coffee. In the bathroom, the pipes made a sound like a steamship when we ran water or flushed. Didn't get to use the indoor pool, but it looked […] nice. Devamı

I booked the room weeks before the day I stayed. When I got there, they had the last room left for me. I had to go to the desk to be let into the room each time I wanted to enter my room. The sink didn't drain at all, and there was virtually no water pressure in the shower. There was an odd smell in the room and the linens on the bed looked like they […] had just thrown them on there in a hurry. No offer of anything was given. It was basically a take it or leave it attitude. As I had already paid for the room through hotels.com I had no choice but to take it or lose my money. The only drawback for this hotel is the breakfast, it said it offered breakfast in the morning but the breakfast did not compare to many of the hotels I have stayed at that offer the same option.

The Microtel in Springfield is located in a prime spot. The hotel itself is NO frills. The head board is a mirrored wall. The television is set on top of the armoire. It is a cheap (not inexpensive) place to stay. And, I might question the security at this hotel. Didn't seem to be the most secure to me. As far as it being "Micro", the room was big enough […] for one or two people. It was a suite by the way. I would not want to place more people in that room! I was very dissatisfied witht the way the rooms were given out. when we got there, we were told that the reservation had to be changed thta they needed one of the rooms we had reserved and that they switched it to a single. the roomswere given out without checking with me. all my guest had to do was give my name and without checking wth me they gave […] them the rooms. I picked this hotel because it wasn't too expensive, yet it had all of the amenities I needed. The free breakfast wasn't all that great, but atleast it was free. I enjoyed my stay because it was very relaxing, and that is all my boyfriend and I wanted to do. I will definitely stay here again.

Room was clean and quiet but a little small for me. It did not have a gym in the hotel, which was disappointing. The television only had a view stations.

The night before we stayed at the Holiday Inn and we didn't sleep very well the beds and pillows were very uncomfortable then when we got to this hotel we sleep like a baby. The thing that I didn't like was that the people that were staying in the next room were talking and laughing all night. While the staff and cleanliness was good, the size of the room and the pool was dissappointing. the breakfast was supposed to have boiled eggs and didnt. I was expecting a little more room and amenities for the price I paid.

The hotel is about 3 miles from downtown Springfield. It is looking a bit worn, but the rooms were clean and the personnel very helpful and courteous. The pool is a bit of a stretch as it's more like a large whirlpool tub -- fine for very young children, but not for anyone that chooses to swim laps or exercise.

Truly enjoyed our stay. Will definetly be back!

When I travel I don't need all the luxuries at hotels, I just like it to be clean, safe, and usually like the breakfast included. My kids and I were disappointed in the swimming pool, it was an oversized bath tub! The pictures were deceiving on line- it was about 14 by 16 foot and only 3'2" deep. Not very fun!
