BEST WESTERN STEVENS INN - Carlsbad

Easy to find when you're just showing to a place you've never been before after a long drive. Reliable food you can eat with confidence. I had a real salad with my dinner and a cooked breakfast I could eat without loading up on sugar if I didn't want to. My room was clean, comfortable, adequately spacious, and nicely appointed without being overly fancy. […] We tend to wear ourselves out running around and we just want to crash in an air-conditioned environment so I had no interest in the pool, but it looked nice. Maintenance is well attended to. (I did have a request, and it was taken care of promptly.) If you want to use the internet, do it early because it gets crowded. One thing about Best Western is, they have plenty of pillows on the bed, but they are very very large. I like small pillows so I bring my own. Devamı

Our family of four had an overall good stay. The bed was comfortable and I liked the fact we had two pillows, each. The breakfast bar was really good and well stocked to the end as we came close to 9 am both mornings. A couple small complaints,the pool was clean, but super cold so no one could swim. If they are going to open it in March they could invest […] in a pool warmer for the future. :) My girls really looked forward to swimming. Also we think there should be pool towels avaliable so you are not using your same room towels for pool and shower. back to positive, the staff and waiters were very friendly and the lounge was very nice too. the motel has become dated and run down. it was once the best place in Carlsbad. it no longer is. it need some TLC badly. the breakfast was just terrible. the bacon was old and inedible, the eggs were cold. the dining area was neglected badly. if things don't improve soon, the Stevens will lose out to the new motels in town and close down.

This motel was about what I expected based on other reviews. The room was spacious and clean. The toilet seat was loose which was a bit disconcerting. It is a big facility and our room was a long ways from the main lobby and restaurant. The continental breakfast was okay. There was both hot and cold food. We planned to stay at this hotel on our way to the caverns. Room smelled. Shower didn't have any pressure at all. Resturant was overpriced, as food was just ok. Not worth the money.

We enjoyed our stay at the Steven's Inn. It is obviously not the Ritz, but was very nice for an evenings stay. It was quiet, The room was clean. The staff was courteous. The breakfast was good. The AC was a little noisy but it didn't keep us from a good nights sleep. We would stay there again.

The breakfast buffet is very good with scrambled eggs, bacon, biscuits and gravy among other hot and cold items. They readily accommodated a need for a gluten free breakfast by having hash browns and fried eggs cooked specially for myself and my sister-in-law. They went out of their way to ensure that our breakfast wasn't cross contaminated by anything […] containing gluten. Kudos to the wait and kitchen staff. Devamı

We got there early (before check-in time) and because we had such s long drive, she had us go to breakfast and was able to get us into out room around noon. The only thing was a shortage of towels. But everything else was good, the breakfast every morning for the family wad great too. Thx. :))

The hotel is old, but it was okay. It served its purpose. The breakfast wasn't the greatest. The staff were okay.

I read some not so good reviews before staying here, and I have got to say, the room was large and clean. Outdoor pool was nice. The hot breakfast was really good. And the staff was friendly.

The hotel was easy to find and offered excellent service. We arrived around 9:30 p.m. and the restaurant was still open and offered a great menu. Breakfast buffet offered lots of choices. An great place to stay with well kept rooms, the double queens were comfortable and plenty of room to spread out after a long day in the car. I spent the night there last week prior to going to the Carlsbad Caverans. Service was good, room large and clean. Inn had a full lounge and restaurant which was very convient. Only draw back was the wi-fi connect was like using a slow dial up but I survived. Would stay there again

This is a "just fine" place to stay in Carlabad to visit the caverns and not have to go back and forth through all the construction mess on Hwy 285, further north. Lots of folks were there when we were and it was still reasonably quiet.

Location and room were nice...room was not as clean as I would have liked, a couple stains on the carpet and some kind of burn mark (or something worse) on the wall in the bathroom. The front desk clerk, I believe it was Marian was very helpful in retrieving an item I left behind. Beds were comfortable, room was clean.

This is a well maintained, clean property. The staff is friendly and helpful. There is a free breakfast buffet that is good. Overall, a good value for a clean and quiet motel.

Most places in Carlsbad are terrible, but although a little older, this hotel was clean and comfortable.

This large hotel was modern and clean. Rooms were large, with table and chairs. Bedding was clean and attractive. Everyone was so accomo dating; giving us adjoining rooms on a ground floor for my 90 yr old Mom. But the greatest thing is the restaurant in the hotel...best steaks in town!

The hotel was decent, the pool made up for everything else. If you want to get an edible breakfast I suggest going early because everything looked dried out the first morning at 9. The rooms were clean although our door was very difficult to open and close. The wireless connection was hard to maintain as well. The staff was friendly excellent location, breakfast was wonderful. The only thing that could of been better was the hot tub. The hot tub was warm and low on water.

I did a lot of research before choosing this hotel. For the price I expected more. The towels were thin. I saw a silverfish insect on the wall. I do not recall any odors. Full buffet hot/cold breakfast was good in a sit down restaurant. Good location south of town on the way to caverns.

Overall, we were satisfied with the hotel. The price was right (I got a good deal online), the staff was polite, the pool was nice, & everything was clean. It was convenient for visiting the caverns and other sites. The breakfast was better than the typical "continental" with eggs, potatoes, pancakes, biscuits, gravyl, cereal, etc., but I wish there […] had been some fresh fruit salad or something healthier. The room was huge and the beds were great. They had four pillows per bed, awesome.

The hotel was nice...very clean and a restaurant attached. The restaurant was a bit pricey, 13$ to 30$, but the service was friendly. The only thing that really bugged me was the fact that the hotel lobby computers had politically sarcastic screen savers on them. Not just kinda funny ones....but fairly offensive jokes. I have 2 kids and paying for a […] family vacation and having to explain why one political group would treat another group that way should not been included in the price of my room. THIS BEST WESTERN WAS CLEAN AND THE STAFF VERY FRIENDLY. THE ROOM WAS VERY CLEAN AND COMFORTABLE. I ENJOYED THE WELL MAINTAINED POOL AREA . THE FULL BREAKFAST WAS GOOD AND THE WAIT STAFF ATTENTIVE. I WOULD STAY THERE AGAIN IF IN THE AREA.

Needed a place to lay our heads for one night after Carlsbad Caverns. Check in and check out were speedy with no problems. Room was average - older hotel. Only complaint was finding a few dead bugs in bed sheets. Told the front desk at check out. They said they would check into, but didn't offer anything else. Complimentary breakfast was continental, […] not full as advertised. No explanation was given. Decent place for short stay, but definitely overpriced. I would probably look at surrounding towns like Roswell if I traveled this way again. Devamı

We enjoyed the stay at the Best Western Stevens Inn. The neighorhood is not the greatest but the is not bad for the price. The two problems that we had was one, the room AC was not turned on when we got there and it was very hot. Second and most important was the bar patrons had broken a bottle near the entry way. i told the front desk lady and she […] could not rectify the problem. I ended up cutting my foot on the glass she couldnt clean up. Her excuse was the maintiance man was helping with breakfast and could not clean it up until later....poor excuse. Staff was friendly and courteous. Room was spacious, clean, with apparently new furniture. Carpet had minor staining. Musty smell upon entering. Restaurant for dinner was unexceptional and likewise the complementary breakfast.
