The room stunk very badly the shower was nasty and the cooler didn't work will never stay there again

A party going on at street level threatened to ruin our night, but we closed the doors and turned the fan on high. Ar three-thirty AM when the oranges started hitting our 4th floor balcony a new level of disappointment set in. If the desk had taken care of this within a reasonable time we wouldn't have complained, but it took a phone call to get the […] police there. WE are just glad that Hotelsdotcom refunded our payment. The hotel management said they would have done so also, so I left Madera thinking the place wasn't all that bad. One more complaint is for the continental breakfast which was pitiful. If the waitress hadn't agreed to get us peanut butter we would have been even more unhappy. Devamı

This was a decent, clean room. The sliding glass door in the room opened, which was nice as I love fresh air. The one issue I had was when we tried to use the pool. It had been open the previous, chillier evening, but when we tried it we were told it was closed because it was too cold. The pool was a key factor in choosing the inn, so this was a big […] problem. We booked this hotel last-minute to find a place to crash for the night during a roadtrip. All we wanted was a quiet room with a clean bed for a cheap price... and we were pleasantly surprised by what we got! The hotel is not fancy by any means but it's a step-up from a Motel-6 type place, with a nice lobby and an elevator and rooms not opening out […] to the parking lot. The receptionist was very sweet and welcoming. The rooms were totally bare-bones but clean and quiet and we got a good night's sleep. this is located in the heart of Madera, with easy access to the freeways :) Clean hotel that's important :)

The only trouble I had was trains that ran late and early. But I am a late night person,and had to be up early the days I was ther. But every one was helpful and nice.

It was a nice stay but I wanted to check in early but room wasn't ready. When I finally got in my room a house keeper just walked in and didn't knock, that upset me. I had to put a no disturb sign on my door.. It was an ok stay but they need to notify the housekeeping when someone is in the room..

The room served it's purpose, but the sheets,bedding and towels stank of body odor. I complained to the front desk and they offered to change my room, but I was too tired to move. Anyway I figured they washed all their linens togheter,. The sheets and towels had been washed, but they stank. The bedspread had not been changed EVER or cleaned. The smell […] from the pillow was so overpowering, I couldn't sleep. Finally, the desk clerk managed to find me an un-used pillow. The heater did not really heat the room , although it ran all night. On the positive side, this hotel allows small dogs. The attendant who checked us in was fairly accomodating, a little slow, but, he was nice. The rest of the staff that we dealt with was rather stand offish. We checked into our room only to discover soiled sheets on our bed. We moved into the room next door and the heater was in dire need of repair, […] no fridge or microwave. We got to experience our first California rolling black out which only lasted about 3 hours. The hotel "ran out" of little bars of soap. And, if you don't mind being flanked by railroad tracks to the front and rear with trains running through the night, it was an enjoyable stay. :) To conclude, we got what we paid for. Devamı

we go once a month to madera and this hotel has the best rates and it is next to where we go.

If you like a little charater....This is the place. You can tell as soon as you walk in this was the place to be way back when. The rooms are large and clean. The carpet looks alittle aged could use replacing but for the price it is nice. Staff was friendly, I felt welcome right away. Great location in town. It was convenient and the rate was excellent. The room was fairly clean and the location was very close to my New Year's party. The experience was good.

Hard to beat the value for the convenience of having to be in downtown Madera.

We really enjoyed our stay. My daughter stayed at another hotel which she got lousy service, smaller room, and paid a higher price for. I was a great experience and we will be staying there again when we go back to that area. People were very friendly, made it seem like you had been there all your life.

Madera Valley Inn is the grand old dame of hotels in Madera. It is located opposite both the government center and police station. The main street which is two blocks away, is the route to the Sierra foothills and on to Yosemite. We didn't patronize the coffee shop which is connected to the hotel rather we took advantage of some of the newer restaurants […] that were not that far from the Madera Valley Inn. LIGHT WAS OUT S SOON AS YOU WALK IN THE ROOM. NICE PLACE TO STAY IF YOU DON'T MIND THE SOUND OF THE TRAIN A FEW TIMES AT NIGHT. BREAKFAST WAS CERAL, JUICS, TOAST AND ROLLS.

Just wish the fridge in the room would have worked

We wanted a hotel on our way from Phoenix to SFO and Madea was a place in between. Also we did not want to go too far away from the FreeWay. Madera inn served all these purposes. The rooms were comfy with midrowave, fridge, nice bed and a couch. I did not check their complimentary breakfast. I will recommend this hotel to others.

I booked 3 rooms on short notice and the Madera Valley Inn was very accommodating. I received excellent service from the staff. My group of 7 was in and out but I would be willing to book rooms there in the future.

Service was great. Carpets are very dirty and need to be replaced. Perfect for what we needed for our family get together. Good price.

Room was very noisy due to active rail road tracks next to parking lot! All electrical was unplugged in room including lamps and fridge. Hotel staff indicated this was normal for all hotels (???).

Night staff was unfriendly and not particularly helpful with a reservation issue (basically told me to fix it myself by contacting hotels.com). Didn't have the room prepared that we had reserved and were forced to stay in a smoking room (when we specifically requested a non-smoking room). And several times during the night a train went by ~ one block […] away from the hotel, at 10pm, 11pm, etc. All in all for the price the hotel definitely did not even come close to meeting our expectations. Also spoke to other guests who hadn't received their wake-up calls after placing them. Devamı

The hotel room was musty. Bathtub had rust stains and behind the toilet was gross. Air conditioner pushed out an even mustier smell. The fridge in the room was not plugged in, therefore it was not cold and took hours to get cold. The cups in the room were covered in plastic however they were soaked. Odd. One of the chairs in the room was very rickety […] and about to fall apart. The parking for the hotel approximated roughly 30-40 spots. The rooms in the hotel were about 200. Very convenient location, quiet, even though train tracks were next door, clean hotel and room, comfortable, and even continental breakfast. Very reasonable. Highly recommend if you're looking for inexpensive and a clean, simple room.

It isnt at all a bad hotel, dont get me wrong, but when you are travelling from one place to another and you want to get some sleep, drive somewhere else. Room could get a lot cleaner if they put any effort in it. Again, not filthy, just so-so. Worst thing was the disco and the train which causes noise all night long. We decided to stay here as a stop over for the night. As we were headed to Yosemite. The hotel staff was very nice and pleasant. The hotel itself can you a bit of work on the carpets. As they are very old and stained looking. Bed a bit hard, and as for the rooms all having a balcony, well I really would not call this a balcony. As one can not really […] move around. Other then those few things I have no other complaints. We skipped the free breakfast as that was over at 930a, and we are very late risers. So we went to the restaurant that is attached to the hotel, and had a wonderful breakfast. All and all I would say its a good place for the price. Devamı

It was last minute reservation and absolutely unexpected perfect choice. Room was big, clean, comfortable. Food in the restaurant was very good, service was friendly and professional.

Brief Stay. Night went quick. Fridge needs replacement. A bit old. Quiet, only for the morning unusual sound of a machine or sthing of the sort. On the whole, quite ok. Keep up the good work. Impressed Aussie.

This hotel was perfect for us. Price was good, and they offered a decent breakfast. We wanted something not too far from Yosemite and not too expensive. We spent 3 nights here and just did day trips to King's canyon NP and Yosemite. We were completely satisfied. I found it on hotels.com and the reviews were good so decided to stay here and we were not […] sorry. It's not super fancy but has all you need. Rooms are spacious and comfortable. Devamı

A hotel providing excellent value for money and with really helpful and friendly staff. A great jumping off place for Yosemite if you cannot book anywhere closer.

A really good value deal but mostly disappointed with other aspects. Hotel was rather run-down inside, and the hallway carpets were not clean. Continental breakfast was very basic. Rooms were large and sound-proofed but out-of-date.

The staff was very friendly, but they somehow failed to mention the enormously long and noisy freight train that drove past our window every 20 minutes or so. Really annoying! The continental breakfast was not very impressive, and the surrounding area is nnot very interesting. It is however a decent place for one night, if you're driving to Yosemite. […] Especially if your window faces in the right, less noisy direction. Devamı

Nothing fancy but clean and friendly staff. Used as a stop over from Yosemite to Bay Area. Was quiet on the 4th floor. Just a hop from Hwy99 but not close enough to be noisy. Continental breakfast inside of attached coffee shop was ok..can order regular meal food right there so that's convenient.

This hotel was located at a very short distance to the location I was at on a business trip. Service was acceptable, as well as it's condition. No luxuries but the overall condition of the building was okay/acceptable.
