Best Western Hotel de la Paix - Reims

The hotel is slap bang in the middle of where you want to be with the added bonus of reasonably priced (11€ per night at the time of writing) secured private underground car park. The bar area is fine but plays loud music of an evening (to create an atmosphere perhaps) but so loud that one shouts at one's companion to be heard. A shame. Haven't tried […] the Restaurant as we tend to wander out and eat locally. There is a charming courtyard at the centre of the hotel which looks lovely but we have never been there in warm weather to try it out! Bedrooms are fine and of a good size with excellent en-suite facilities. Nice touch was the gift of a bottle of water in our room to save us from the minibar prices. Would cheerfully recommend this for those with a little extra cash to splash and want a touch of luxe. Devamı

Excellent hotel and well located near the center of Riems with conveniant parking. Rooms are well appointed and equipped. Hotel service is very good. Can be noisy if located at the front of the hotel, but this is a rare event. The beds are quite hard and take some getting used to, but this is probably down to individual preference.

Very central, very nice hotel. 4 stars + privilege room (window facing streets and not backyard) = a very plesant stay. Will definitely stay there the next time - even if it's a bit expensive.

An excellent hotel with very helpful polite staff. Very well furnished large room and bed. Very modern bathroom with separate toilet and shower. A few paces from the shops and restaurants as well as the sites such as the cathedral, the river and the parks. Underground parking which accomodates up to 1.90 meter height. The room was very well insulated […] from the rest of the hotel. The only fault we found was that there was a lot of noise on a Saturday night immediately outside from the late night revellers. Hotel is easy to find and has ample underground parking which is well worth booking in advance. Most staff spoke english well enough and were approachable and helpful. Room was fine, not big or that well soundproofed, and there was no bath. But it's a modern hotel recently refitted so everything worked, including the excellent shower. Bar is modern […] and appealed to the twenty-something Reims crowd. Prices were fairly standard but surprisingly some of the staff weren't expert in opening or pouring champagne. Didn't try the restaurant after reading some terrible reviews, but if you do they specialise in seafood. Breakfast at 14 Euro didn't seem great value so we made use of the excellent local boulangeries and patisseries. Location is excellent, right in the heart, so a perfect base for seeing the sights and the local restaurants. Devamı

Everything about this hotel was good bar one tiny detail - maybe I was just unlucky. The location was great, parking was easy, the room was clean and the staff were helpful. Unfortunately the night of my visit was windy and there was an external blind outside our window that banged all night - it was Chinese torture. We were only staying one night so […] I don't know if they responded to my complaint. It would have been a faultless review otherwise! Devamı

Close to the cathedral and in the historic centre of the city with a spacious underground car park. Exceptional service, comfortable and a good breakfast. A perfect place to stay when visiting or the champagne area

Stopped here a few times before - so convenient for shopping and sightseeing in Reims. Arrived to find the rooms (at least the one I stopped in, room 334) has been refurnished - funky plastered look to the rooms and corridors, carpets so new that the automatic closer on the room door had problems with closing! the bathroom in particular was magnificent […] for a 3 star hotel - stopped in 4 and 5 star joints that weren't as nicely laid out. the bar staff were wonderful - worked their socks off on Saturday evening, rest of staff very pleasant and attentive. Hotel de la Paix is in an excellent location in the centre of Reims very close to the main area of restaurants and bars and only about 10 mins walk from the cathedral.

The hotel is nice, modernly furnished. It is close the the city center, easy walking distance from most of the places a visitor wants to see. The superior room that we had was large by French standards, and very comfortable. The underground garage was safe and convenient. The staff was very helpful and professional. Comfortable, smart, efficient hotel - mainly for business customers. Reasonably priced hotel compared with Paris. Bar expensive. Signs in hotel could be clearer. Handy for local restaurants, cafes, bars, shops and cathedral. Very nice city with tram network - sorry not enough time to try. Will come back again to hotel and city.

All in all we were very satisfied with this hotel. Newly renovated, nice bathroom and shower, nice room and friendly staff. Very centrally located. Nice but small swimming pool and very beautiful patio and bar. Only drawback would be the breakfast, we chose to have it as room service and it was very poor, stale bread and croissants, and just some jam […] and butter for 14 euros... Lovely hotel. I unfortunately lost my passport in Rheims and the staff could not have been more helpful and supportive. Did however have some difficulty following driving directions to hotel.

Right in the centre of Reims, so excellent for restaurants, cathedral and other sights. Rooms were very good - probably more of a business than holiday hotel but this shouldn't put anyone off. Underground car parking needs to be booked in advance - an e-mail to reception ahead of your visit should fix that so that when you turn up at the hotel and press […] the buzzer for the intercom to get into the car park they have your name. Breakfast is a bit odd with long shared tables with none for two or four people but the staff clear efficiently so there's always somewhere free. All in all a good hotel, close to the sights with english speaking staff and car parking. Devamı

Great location in city centre and surrounded by brasseries/ restaurants. Short walking distance to the cathedral. Hotel room was relatively small as well as the double bed (140cm) which may explain why the hotel rate was attractive.

We were very pleased with our overnight stay. The location is great -- just off the main restaurant plaza and convenient to the cathedral. The receptionists at the front desk were very friendly and helpful, and were fluent in English. The room was clean. Parking was simple -- following the advice of another reviewer on this page, we emailed the hotel […] in advance to reserve a space in their parking garage. If we were to return to Reims, we certainly would book this hotel again. Devamı

I stayed here in July with friends and we were pleasantly surprised. It had a central location, within easy walk of several restaurants. It felt more like a 4 star hotel than a 3 star, and would recommend it. The rooms were lovely and relatively large. The restaurant was fantastic!

Ideally located for the city centre. Service, quality and cleanliness perfect. Car park under hotel secure and worth while as limited on street parking near hotel.

Excellent value- nice rooms- woud absolutely recommend. Very convenient to pedestrian mall with an assortment of restaurants and within walking distance of publlic transportation and sights. Great bakery around the corner for a terrific breakfast- fresh squeezed orange juice.

the airconditioning was broken i was told for the entire hotel , and it was hot during the day, only after i called down to inquire about the thermastat. i was told they would call me back with instructions as to how to operate the thermastat after they look on the computer. they never called, and therefore i inquired later and was told the entire hotel […] had a computer system failure that day with no remedy possible. i suggest they firure out that in the future. mary lowe Devamı

Right in the city centre, and easy access from the autoroute, very secure underground car park for €11 per night (great value compared to most city centre public parking). All staff were outstanding in their helpfulness and a couple of minor niggles (and I am picky) were dealt with swiftly and efficiently. Thoroughly recommended. Unlike one other reviewer, […] by the way, I did get a 'deal', having booked for two nights and deciding to stay a third, I got the same rate for the third night, despite the hotel and indeed the whole town being packed as it was Easter weekend. If it's your first time in Reims, the crowded pavement restaurants around the corner actually serve very good and if you want to push the boat out, try BrasserieFlo - 5 minutes walk just around the corner. Nice Hotel in a very convenient spot with easily navigable underground carpark (some are very tight for larger cars). Rooms can smell of old smoke initially but this soon disappears. Desk staff unable to do "deals" for late bookings despite Sunday night and rooms empty so don't bother turning up unbooked! This hotel is perfectly located for the Xmas markets - it starts right outside the door. The main shopping area is also just on the doorstep. The hotel was appointed very well, with a modern interior and the all important swimming pool! The restaurant was excellent, with a wide selection on the menu, although they really specialise in seafood - particularly […] oysters. The room was a little disappointing after the rest of the hotel - the bathroom was quite 80s, and the finish didn't match up to the rest of the hotel. Good hotel for a stopover in Reims, close to the cathedral and fine arts museum. Modern, comfortable, not particularly typical for France (as you might expect from a Best Western). Good value brasserie.

excellent location

Priced as a 4-star hotel it is definitely just a 3-star. Everything is clean and fine, but too expensive for what it is. I try to taste the "whiskey sour" cocktail in the bar of every hotel I stay. As I travel 2-3 months per year, that makes lots of bars... Well, at Hotel de la Paix I had the WORST cocktail in my life!

This hotel was about five minutes walk from the train station which was a plus. Right off the main strip in a safe and comfortable area of town. The hotel was very clean and the staff very helpful. Enjoyed my stay here and would stay here again.

The Best Western staff was friendly, very knowledgeable, cooperative and efficient. The room in which I was staying was too small and did not come equipped with an ironing board. The AC climate control in my room did not function properly and had me freezing and shivering at night. The location of the Hotel offered access to many shops, restaurants […] . Devamı

We stayed here for the second year running on our way to and from the South of France. Great location, easy to get to from the motorway, lovely bars and restaurants near-by. Hotel is modern, clean, trendy - lovely bar where you can sit inside and out. Friendly, professional staff. Can't fault!

This hotel is a real surprise, it is not at all as one would imagine a chain hotel to be like. Instead it is individual and comfortable and thoroughly recommended. We stayed 2 nights with our 2 young daughters (no inter-connecting room which was annoying but at least their room was next door) on the way back from the South of France. This is a very […] modern hotel that has been interior designed in the style of Phillip Starke, which works incredibly well. Those looking for something traditional will not be happy but I personally liked the interior style very much. The rooms were a reasonable size (we had the prestige rooms from recollection) with good bathrooms and a good view from our 4th floor window. Bed was a little hard and meant to ask for a mattress topper but never got round to it. Room very clean and fixtures and fittings all in keeping with the overall ambience of the hotel. This was worlds away from the Best Western we found ourselves in over the Easter holidays in Florida! The restaurant has a huge menu and specialises in seafood, with an array of platters that looked very tempting from what we saw of the ones being had by other dinners. The quality of the food is OK to good but they are never going to win any Michelin stars. What I was impressed with was the very reasonable margins being charged on some of the more expensive bottles of champagne. Essentially you were paying only a little more than retail price for some very good quality champagne and there was a very good selection to choose from. Top marks. The breakfast buffet was OK but again not something you would make a detour for. However, although it was Euro 14 per person, the children were free so the actual cost was such that we didn't bother going out to one of the many local cafes as we would have spent the same if not more doing so. Hotel chosen because of it's high rating which was well desrved. The hotel was as new, secure parking, although tight, was good. We had a privilege room which included a terrace/balcony which was nice although the seating was uncomfortable. Location was ideal, less than 200 metres from the main boulevard containg various restaurants and bars. Staff […] were pleasant and speak English if required.
