The hotel is currently under some renovations, but they were not noisy or that noticeable. The baseboard was removed on half of our floor but they had replaced the majority of it by the time we left. We were there for a weekend conference and enjoyed the hotel. We did not use many amenities, but the breakfast was good food (for hotel breakfast's) they […] had hot eggs pancakes and biscuits every day. One day they had gravy for the biscuits the other was sausage patties. They also had the cold food staples, cereal fruit, muffins, milk etc. The staff was very courteous and kind. They were helpful and made check in easy. One person checking in when we were had some difficulties with trying to change her reservations (she apparently did not need all her rooms and some rooms needed 2 doubles beds instead of the one king she reserved) . They were very kind and helpful to her, and it appeared they resolved it to her satisfaction. Overall, we will probably use it again when we come for more conferences in this area. It is on the same road as the church that the conference is at and very convenient. I have stayed at multiple hotels in this area and this is one of my two favorites. Devamı

My most recent visit was my third visit to this particular hotel. As I expected, the staff were friendly and helpful. The facility is in a secure location and well maintained. I will definitely stay there again next time I am in Irondale. For what it's worth, I saw several people who have also stayed there before during my past visits.

I stayed at this hotel back in July and for the most part, it was okay. We arrived late on Friday night and the clerk was friendly and professional. The room was fairly nice. No real problems, except the breakfast was not so great. It was okay, but again, no complaints. We decided to go visit a friend again on septemeber 9th. We arrived late once again, […] but only to be greeted by a very untrained front desk clerk! We booked our rooms through hotel.com like the last time, and had our confirmations and the amount of the hotel for the two night stay. Well, the clerk not only charged our visa to another hotl guest that was just arriving a few minutes behind us, but she did it twice, after thefact that we had paid online with hotels.com. We gave her our ID and explained to her in details and yet she still made this HUGE error. So after we tried to be patient and help her to her job, she made complaints and excuses instead of owning the error, she blamed the hotel for messing up our reservations. NO manager was on duty either. The next day we found out from a nother clerk that the girl who made the mistakes was new and should have never been left out front to work alone. We are waiting on our credit from being charged twice on our visa! Then to top it off, they were doing construction and the hotel ceilings had wires hanging down . Very bad stay this time! Devamı

Physical condition of the hotel hallways was deplorable. Wall paper was peeling off of the walls and the non smoking room I was in smelled like a testing area for a cigarette company. And this was the second room that I was placed in after complaining about the first. If it wasn't so late when I checked in (11:30pm) I would have left and looked for […] another hotel. Also, there was no micro/fridge in the room as listed. The front desk staff were very nice, professional and tried to be accommdating, but all of the above was beyond their control. Devamı

Just attempted to stay at this Holiday Inn Express in August 2011. When we got there, the foyer and business center were in great shape ... but not much else! A reservation on this website gets you a "standard" reservation and that translates into a SMOKING room. I could not bear the stench of the room. The entire hallway reeked of smoke. And the hotel […] would not move us to a non-smoking room because we were only a "standard" reservation. The wallpaper in the hallways is literally falling off the walls. The fitness center is permanently closed - looked like it was recently flooded. The ice machines had "Sorry - out of order" signs on them. Signs warned us of the fire alarms were going off randomly because of "construction". The rooms are NOT like the pictures on this website - no couches and seating areas. Just 70's era motel beds. The front desk was unwilling to help us out. They were plain rude. Not the southern hospitality we were expecting! Definitely would NOT recommend this place! Devamı

The staff were helpful and very friendly and the room was clean and comfortable. The hotel is close to I-20, but traffic noise was not a problem. All the major food chains are within a short drive, and if one is willing to go a little further the options multiply. Also within short drives are the Barber Motorsports Museum and the Birmingham Zoo. Both […] are worth a visit. Devamı

The bed was worn out, and sagged so much you could hardly get in and out. The tub stopped up, and I was ankle deep in water before I could finish my shower. The "easy" chair was so uncomfortable I chose to sit in the desk chair instead while reading and watching TV. Also, the TV was an old CRT type with a very bad picture. Certainly not worth the price […] compared to other hotels I stayed in on this trip. Devamı

The directions that I had received to the hotel were incorrect. A staff member politely and accurately guided me there. Great service!
