My wife and I only spent one night at this hotel because we moved to our timeshare location the following night. But our stay was very comfortable, the staff was very friendly, and the hotel is conveniently located across the bay from the Lucaya marketplace. We liked the Inn and would stay again. We liked that there was a tour coordinator in residence so we could learn about things to do and she could arrange them. It is a fair walk to any beaches, marketplace, or restaurants and there are no bicycles there to borrow or rent, and taxis are very expensive. Our family spent Christmas vacation at Bell Channel Inn. While not on the beach (and thus more affordable), it made an excellent base for venturing out everyday with our rental car as the numerous white sand beaches have free public access. Gorgeous white sand Taino Beach is only five or ten minutes away by car as is the more touristy Lucaya Beach (park […] at the Port Lucaya Marketplace and find the beach access lane near the police station). The convenient on-site restaurant was open all day until 11:00 p.m. and since the food was very good we ate most of our meals on the premises. We changed rooms after the first night because we were next to the restaurant and could hear a good bit of noise. However, the staff was very helpful when we asked to change rooms and allowed us to choose from a few we looked at. Very impressive. The staff is so friendly, and it is family owned, but there is so much to this hotel. The Restaurant they have on site is amazing, its affordable (which is rarity on the island) and they give you a ton of food. The rooms are nice, and it has WIFI in the rooms. The TVs are the old style tube TV's, but that's not really a complaint to […] me. I feel the Bell Channel Inn is a great stay, mainly because it is so close to port lucaya (about a 10-15minute walk away) and from there you can catch a bus to anywhere you need to go. The hotel itself is well kept and clean, the staff could be a little more courteous, specially the lady in charge of information on tours and activities. On google maps it looks like the hotel is about 3-5 min walk from the beach but you have to go around the harbor and it is a good 15 minute walk which could be a drag when coming back at night. Obviously they are struggling. Drain in bathtub totally rusted out. People are pleasant. Hotel opposite apparently just closed one day Lounge chairs still out Pool weird green color. No shampoo. Feel sorry for the. Hotel. But if wife was along we would haveleft 10 minutes in.

Hotel was in need of an update but very clean and great value for the money, beb and shower good with plenty of hot water. The staff were all very very friendly and Jeannie was great. Our room was clean, reasonably priced and comfortable. The staff were cheerful and helpful. The hotel setting is lovely and we'd have no hesitation returning.

Yes, I would stay there again. close to Lucaya, the staff was great .I love how the hotel have its own resturant.Most of all i love how we got free 2day car rental, free suviorners,and free food voucher.Just for partisipate in a presentation. My husband and i spent for the whole trip round trip 3days, 2 night. under $800.00..Wow!!!!!!!!!

The event coordinator (Ginny) is fabulous! I liked her. She really took care of me. The staff is friendly but the hotel really sucks. It's run down and old. This hotel is off the beaten path but my boyfriend and I had a great time! The hotel staff is extremely nice and helpful and the hotel food was good!! The hotel provided transportation to the beach, town, airport and any activity we wanted to do. The view was beautiful, right out to the channel, the sun came up through our balcony window! We stayed here for three nights last month. Our spacious upstairs room overlooked the channel, which made for a nice view. Too bad the guardrail for the balcony was of a closed design which blocked a lot of the view. A car is a must during your stay here, the only thing within walking distance is besides the restaurant/bar in the hotel, is a bar next […] door. The Marketplace will be a bit further to walk but doable. It is not advised to walk in the neighborhood after dark. The bar/restaurant in the hotel has good food and reasonable prices. In laid-back Freeport, this hotel fits the atmosphere. The hotel by itself is very nice. Better than expected (it has 2 stars and a half). The only thing it is not good enough is the location. It is necessary to walk around 20-30min to go to the beach with no sidewalks.

If you're looking for a no-frills hotel and willing to roam about in surrounding beaches, then Bell Channel Inn is highly recommended. It does not boast of facilities, but rooms are clean and pretty much look like flatlets with a mini-kitchen incorporated and views of the channel. Staff is friendly and makes your stay enjoyable.

Conveniently placed only 10min walk from Lucaya Market place and the beach, run by nice people and there's a good little restaurant upstairs. Rooms are reasonable for the price. Definitely recommend it if you're looking for somewhere on a budget.

Its offer privacy for those of you who wants the convenience of going to Lacuya yet dont want to stay at the heart of things. This is the place for you. Its a 15 to 20mins slow walk to Lacuya. Going on a Saturday evening, its a bit noisy as the music playing over at Lacuya could be heard from my room. But they wrap things up at 12am. Plus point. Only drawback is bathroom is facing the corridor and you need to becareful of exposure. Make sure you close the window or risk mooning your neighbour. Friendly staff and would recomend for people who is mobile. Family with children and elderly may want to reconsider as it maybe a long walk to the hub of things, unless you have your own transport. Friendly staff and good location. Rooms are a little run down, but are well equipped, clean, large, and look over the water and pool. The lounge has good food and prices. A rental car is handy for this location, but not a must.

Bell Channel Inn is AWESOME. I'm glad we stayed here. The rooms were very spacious and I love that they had balcony's and refrigerators. The food at the restaurant was reasonably priced and delicious. The staff was always friendly and it was just a great and relaxing time. The Bahamas are expensive in and of itself, so make sure you visit a supermarket […] and stock up on snacks (be ready for sticker shock). There was a bus stop outside the hotel, and Port Lucaya was a 15-20 min. walk. The pool was small, but as the hotel was not crowded, it fit the bill. i had a very enjoyable and pleasant stay at the bell channel inn the staff is very warm and friendly my room was amazing balcony like view and it was very cozy i had a amazing stay there and if anyone going to freeport for a vaction i would recommend them to stay there love and i would be back in a way i kind of miss it was very enjoyable

The inn is a bit run down. If you prefer to walk, it'll take about 15-20 mins. The third alternative is to walk onto the main street and take a bus. The room was clean with a patio that overlooks the hotels across the water. Their most invaluable asset is their tour concierge Jeanie. She is very personable and extremely helpful.

Bell Channel Inn has everything you need for a diving vacation. Clean, comfortable rooms (with AC), friendly and responsive staff, and a restaurant "Upstairs" with a menu diverse enough to hold you for a week. Carribean Divers shop is right out front to sign up for your dives, and the dive boat is right out back. They have a nice pool and outdoor area […] that is usable when the shade moves over in the afternoon. Not much to do for spouse or kids while you are on the boat though, so if they aren't diving, they'll need to cab it or get a lift to their activities. The Bell Channel Inn was a small hotel but it served its purpose as a home base to sleep and recover from the daily activities. The staff was extremely friendly. The beds were worn out and not very comfortable but they did the job. The location of the hotel was about a 20 minute walk from Port Lucaya or you could grab a taxi into town.
