We stayed here for Stanford Parents Weekend 2012. Although a little farther away from campus, we were very happy with our decision to stay here. Our room was comfortable, quiet, and a nice size. We really enjoyed the little snack shop in the lobby, with a nice variety of juices, sandwiches, fruit cups, yogurts, and a lot more than the typical vending […] machines in most hotels. I did a LOT of research before selecting this hotel. The price for a room in the Silicon Valley area in about 30% higher than the same room in other metro areas, so you just have to deal with it. All of the furniture and carpeting appears to be new and the entire place is very clean and bright. The rooms are extra large and also have a couch, which you could use for an extra guest or two or just to hang out. The bed was comfortable and the room was quiet, although the air conditioner is a bit loud. The refrigerator and free wi-fi were important accessories that were quite convenient. I used the gym twice and the equipment there is in very good shape. Although there are only two treadmills and two elipticals, so you want to get there early in the morning (before 6) or use it at night. One morning I woke up late and all the machines were full, so I went for a run through the adjoining neighborhood. It is an upscale area and appears to be very safe. I even walked home from the Cal Train station at 10:30PM with no problems. Overall, it was exactly what I would expect from a Marriott property. I searched and searched for something cheaper in the same area around Stanford, but the cheaper places had too many bad reviews and I didn't want to splurge for the more expensive locations. I needed somewhere to stay on Labor Day weekend during my relocation to San Francisco. The hotels in SF were astronomically priced but since I went to school in Palo Alto, I tried there. We had a great time staying at this hotel. The rooms were clean and nice. We also slept well on the very comfortable beds! The breakfast buffet was excellent and included a number of delicious food items to choose from! We enjoyed our overall stay at this hotel and would highly recommend it to others!

I read the reviews beforehand, thinking it wouldn't be so bad. I must've gotten incredibly unlucky. Complaints: - Loud A/C noise - Thin walls - there must have been some kind of event/reunion going on because I could hear the people next door to me laughing - I was placed in a handicapped room without any forewarning. We stayed for three nights and really liked the hotel. The room was very neat and clean, plus the furnishings were new, tasteful and comfy. I liked having a mini refrig and the wireless connection. There is a Whole Fodds about 1/2 mile away, and lots of restaurants within 1/4 mile, including Trader Vics. The hotel's workout room is decent too.

Last minute reservation. Worked out well! Helpful staff. Adequate room.

This was our first stay here and we found it fantastic! The room was great, the service good and friendly, convenient to Stanford, shopping and also San Francisco. My son will start Stanford in the fall and my husband and myself have decided that the Marriot Palo Alto will be our location to stay when we visit. I highly recommend it!

The entire experience was more than satisfactory. We would not hesitate to stay at the Palo Alto Marriott again.

Thought it was great The room was very comfortable & ll services were excellent - free wifi, size of room, car parking, tea & coffee facilities & convenience to restaurants etc.

Decent looking place. Nice decor, nice personnel, nice lobby. Good TV. Using the wireless internet was like being tortured. Very slow and would cut off. But here's the good part: The air conditioning. In the room. Sounds like a truck engine. And no, it wasn't broken. When the thermostat kicks in the unit bangs on and roars, roars ..roars . wish i had more time to spend at this hotel - fitness room was top-notch

Clean room; nice shower; covered parking -- all as good as I could hope for.

Nice decor, very comfy bed, free snacks, convenient parking, and friendly staff. Not much more to say other than this is my go-to hotel for all future business trips to Palo Alto! Yeah Courtyard!

Underground secure parking is a real plus. Hotel was very clean. Great location. They were changing the hallway carpeting in one wing so they upgraded us to a very quiet wing with a bigger room at no extra charge. A very nice, clean place.

I stayed for a business purpose. Nice workout room with modern equipment, comfortable beds. Quiet location, clean, currentlyunder construction therfore an intense carpet smell in the hallways. This was a very nice welll maintained facility in a very convenient location. Our only complaint was the noice level. We could hear all of the neighbors wake up call.

This hotel is wonderful, and we will definitely be staying there again soon!

I just needed to stay one night at the hotel, I paid for the room, it won't qualify as business expense. Other hotels in the area were either booked (except for the suite level room) or the prices were much higher.
