"Excellent employees"
This hotel did what we needed; it provideda relatively inexpensive stay in Destin before we moved to our condo in Santa Rosa Beach. It was very close to the beach but no water view or anything like that. Its location to shops and restaurants, however, was incredible for chain stores and the like. The one thing that stood out was an employee who ran […] the desk, I believe his name was Kevin. He acted as a true concierge and felt much more 5-Star than a Holiday Inn. This was a comfortable and convenient place to stay. It was near the beach, the Cracker Barrel, and various other conveniences like Walgreen's. We enjoyed our stay and would consider staying there again if we are in the area.

The hotel is located perfectly two blocks from the beach and sits nestled near an intersection full of shopping/restaurants & entertainment options......the hotel accomodations were moderate ......my only complaint was housekeeping....which did not change our bedding on a daily basis and did a poor job at sprucing up the room.....the location of the […] hotel is the highlight. "Destin hotel"
Come on for a beach hotel it needs an upgrade on room appearance and the TV was older model...this was the worst Holiday Inn Express and I've stayed at 4 this year!!! The three guys at the front desk were not friendly...you felt like they were being bothered.
Stairwell fire door not safe. Toilet not secure to sit on. Closet door did not open.
The ONLY complaint that I have is we were on the bottom floor close to the front desk and at 7 a.m. we were awakend by loud children and people I assume that were in the lobby or getting something at the desk. Other than that it was a good stay.

Our room was not cleaned on the 3rd day we were there. I told housekeeping to comeback since we're getting ready to attend a wedding. When we came back, the room was not cleaned and we didn't have any fresh towels. And so my husband went to the front desk and told about the incident and all she said was a lousy sorry. So, in short....the housekeeping […] people and the front desk people need more training to handle paying guests if they want them to come back again and stay. The hotel room was comfortable and clean. We enjoyed our stay except they could work a little on breakfast and the breakfast room. The tables were always dirty and the selection was okay...
"guest first visit to destin"
Room had a musty odor, had to go get Lysol. Carpet was filthy. Room is super small, not at all like the pics. Management was not friendly. Housekeeping staff and breakfast prep persons were very warm and helpful. Complimentary breakfast is delicious.
it was great it was in the middle of everything the only thing missing is the jacuzzi tub in the room.

The overall rating mainly reflects the room - it was a King Bedroom Suite that had a mold smell in it that grew stronger with each passing hour. But the alternative one (they were solidly booked) smelled like smoke (it was non-smoking room), which my spouse could not tolerate even more. It was a great disappointment. The location is a plus, too, just a short walk or drive to the beach and some excellent shopping and restaurants. "Enjoyable stay"
We chose this hotel due to its proximity to the beach and for the famous breakfast buffet, of course. We were not disappointed on both counts. The front desk staff were also very friendly and helpful. Only drawback was the AC in the room that started fading on us during the 2nd night of our stay. Overall a good experience and we'll stay here again.

Great location to shopping and beach. Nice selection of breakfast items. Good price on room. One small issue was some sort of smell of the hotel, not sure if it was from mold or cleaning chemicals that bothered my allergies. The elevator smelled like W D 40.

The hotel was in a GREAT location, minutes away from the beach and shops. They offered friendly staffing and free breakfast. The room was fresh and clean. The only downfall was that our showers didn't work, which wasn't convenient but we made the best of it!

I stayed at the Holiday inn August 2011, I had a excellent stay. Everything was excellent and close to shopping and the beach was only a 5 min walk. I will stay here on my next trip to Destin.
"Peace & Quiet...We Loved This Hotel !"
My fiance & I have been to Destin on several vacations, we've always stayed at more expensive hotels & they were just ok. We have a 7 Month old daughter & we wanted to go on our first vacation as a family. Money is a little tighter now, so we chose this hotel because of the price & location, which is just down the street from the beach. I have to say […] that this hotel was way better than the more expensive places we've stayed at. If you're looking for a peaceful family oriented place to stay, This is it !!! The room was very clean & comfortable.The hotel was quiet & relaxing. Staff was very friendly. The free breakfast wasn't that great, but hey it's free lol. The only complaint we had is that the air conditioner froze up on our second day there, but that's because we had it turned up too high. Also the free internet isn't wireless, you have to connect your laptop to their ethernet cable, which ours wasn't working, but the front desk quickly gave us a new one. The pool looked nice, but we didn't go in it. The hotel provides you with luggage carts to move your stuff to & from your room. We really enjoyed our stay..We will definitely stay here again & recommend this place to anyone going to Destin, Fl. Devamı
For the money the hotel is in a perfect location...On the night of our arrival we discovered that our bed linens had not been changed...The night manager did everything within his power to correct the problem by bringing clean linens to our room...during the same night we discovered that our bathtub was not draining...nor did it throughout our stay. My current stay at the holiday inn express was great, The rooms where clean its a short walk to the beach and other great restaurants in the area. I enjoyed the breakfast every morning and the staff was very helpful and friendly. I would definitely recommend friends and family to this hotel and make future reservation for myself.

We had a wonderful stay at the Holiday Inn Express in Destin. We wanted to be close to the beach and were able to walk to the public beach access within five minutes. We could also walk to several restaurants and shops, but we were not far by car to more options. The room was clean and very comfortable. "Clean and homey!"
We only stayed one night so we could get an extra night in destin before going to our condo and upon our arrival at the hotel we were pleasantly surprised on how clean and big the room was! Everything looked, smelled, and felt so clean! The place was very homey. It was raining when we arrived but we felt comfortable enough to just hang out in our room […] and let the kids run around. Our stay was great. The front desk was helpful and the location of the hotel was perfect. Within walking distance of good shopping, restaurants and beach access. Would definitely stay there again.

6-22 -11 We stayed 3 nights and i was not pleased. we asked for a non-smoking room and was put on the second floor with smoking and non-smoking. it had a bad order and was not pleasant. now other than the beach it was a close walk and shopping. will not stay there again!!
"Destin Holiday Inn Destin"
The room I had smelled like urine. When I requested a new room they tried to convince me that it was carpet deodorizer. Then the only room that they could move me to was a smoking room which was horribly uncomfortable being that I don't smoke and have asthma.

We stayed at the Holiday Inn Express on Hutchinson St. When I say it's near everything, I mean it's near EVERYTHING! The beach is walking distance (about a 5 minute walk), and it's in the same parking lot as Outback Steakhouse, Barnes & Noble and other restaurants and shops. It's a short driving distance to everything else including Best Buy, Wal-Mart, […] Chili's, whatever you want! Destin is a beautiful city and I wish I could live there (plenty of houses for sale), but for the price, this hotel is hard to beat. Next time we travel to Destin, we're definitely staying here. "Great location, Unbelievable breakfast"
Just a couple blocks to entrance to beach and just off the mid-bay bridge, beside an Outback Steakhouse. Eggs and bacon or sausage every morning in addition to other items. Staff was very courteous and friendly. A few stains on the carpet in public areas but very clean. Room was very nice.

"Bedbugs"
I came home with bites all over my upper legs. I'm pretty sure it was bedbugs from this hotel. This hotel is dirty and worn out. I am done with Holiday Inn anything!
"Close to beach"
Clean hotel and less than 5 minute walk to the beach. I wouldn't go in the pool though, there were bird droppings in and out of it.
"Beautiful in Destin at Holiday in Express"
Our visit to Destin was a Beautiful trip for our fisrt time. Although we only stayed overnight, we tremendously enjoyed it. The rooms were nice. We were only a half a block from the beach and the hotel is situated around all sorts of activities, shopping and restaurants. We are looking forward to coming back Labor Day Weekend.

I love everything about this place. It's very comfortable and it's like a home away from home. The rooms are always super clean, I never have a problem with loud noises, and the staff are friendly. It's on the same side as the beach, so I never have to deal with crazy traffic to get some sun time. It's basically in the middle of everything, from restaurant […] to malls and entertainment. Very clean. The staff was accommodating and friendly. The breakfast buffet was much better than expected. A short walk to beautiful Destin Beach and walking distance to several shopping centers, with an Outback Steak House right next door. How convenient was that!

"hotel in destin florida...dirty mop"
We checked in to a room that smelled of DIRTY MOP. So much that one had to hold their breath just to enter the room. We complained and the housekeeper looked in, but the room looked clean, it just smelled, so she did nothing. Also your feet stuck to the floor in the bathroom. We complained again, and the new person at the desk, Stephen, was very helpful […] and moved us to a new room. The new room was very comfortable; however, after the first room, I will never stay there again and will advise others not to stay as well. Devamı

"Holiday Inn Express-GREAT BEACH ACCESS"
I recently took a trip to Destin Florida. We stayed at a popular resort in the area the first two nights. The kids wanted to experience more beach, so we decided to stay an additional night. I spoke to Chris (manager) at Holiday Inn Express in Destin, FL and he made our experience at his hotel WONDERFUL!!! Besides making sure he was able to meet our […] needs, he was very professional and a pleasure to meet. The kids loved the convenience of walking to the beach, the pool at the hotel and especially the excellent breakfast the morning we were checking out. I enjoyed the fact that EVERYTHING was within walking distance. EXCELLENT CHOICE OF HOTELS!!!!! Oh, and the price was FABULOUS!!!! Thanks Chris for making our Florida trip a success!!!!! Devamı
