Star Island Resort and Club - Kissimmee

My husband and I stayed in a one bedroom villa for 6 nights with our 2 young children- we booked this resort after learning that our favorite resort was already booked. We booked a 1-bedroom villa with a washer and dryer- and upon checkin we got put in a 5th story room in building 39 that didn't have one. We had to repack all our stuff and go back to […] the lobby where we were put into a first floor room in building 16 that had one. The room was a good size, but quite run down. The bed was very uncomfortable with old rough bed linens; the oven door didn't stay closed; the couch was squeaky; the iron leaked water out the top; the dishwasher door was broken; and the balcony was next to the loud bank of air conditioning units for he entire building and was by no means private. The jacuzzi also had hair in it...Rather disappointing for the price. The pools were nice, but the beachfront was pretty gross and you couldn't go in the water or take out any water toys because he water was being treated for bacteria. The hotel grounds were very well kept. The rooms were spacious but the furniture and the carpet were extremely dirty. I could not get comfortable. The kids loved the basketball court and the pool.

My recommendation for the hotel is to change the beds, not pleasant at all. The location is excellent and very good service.

Our rooms, 2 BRs, 2 Baths in adjoining suites with a full kitchen and a kitchenette, were beautifully decorated and very clean with LOTS of space, fully equipped kitchen, nice views, lanai, 4 flatscreen TVs, jacuzzi tub, and comfortable living room. We had a great stay. The Hotel and grounds are BEAUTIFUL. Alot to do at the Hotel itself, but we had made plans to go to Old Town which was 5-6 minutes away! Plan to stay again very soon, but do just a "girls" week-end. (Had grandkids at the last visit)

It's a resort so just about any activity other than the theme parks can be found on the property: Jet skiing, golf driving range, food, arcade, tennis courts, pools and pool bars. We always stay in the mini-suite with the master and hot tub. It allows us to put our kids to sleep in a separate room while we stay up 'watching the news'. We booked this as a romantic getaway and boy did we hit the jackpot! The 1 bedroom Villa was perfect. It had a full kitchen with all accessories including icemaker, dishwasher, microwave. There were 2 flat screen TV's that had full cable and even HBO. Bedroom had a wonderful Jazucci Tub in the room that you could enjoy and even watch TV. Also had […] a nice balcony that you could overlook their man made lake with a fountain going all the time. The staff were very nice and the property was beautiful. There was always something going on if you wanted to participate. Not even asked to do a timeshare tour on the property (which was surprising). Very close to everything including a TGI Fridays at the entrance to the property. Well secured with a secured gate access to get on property. We will book this place again! Devamı

Excelent, they just wont clean your room during you our stay, and theyll give extra towels once per stay.

We had a great stay, and will be back. There are a couple of exter fees, not included when purchasing reservations on-line.

We absolutely love this hotel. We have stated 3-4 times and we have only had a great experience. Very comfortable for a family of 4 with 2 little kids. We had the space and the conforts of home. Our daughter calls it it the House-Hotel, because it made us feel at home.

We stayed in one room, next to the suite room. The next door (occupants of the suite) were very loud. They screamed and yelled since evening till 4:00am. We could hear every words they yelled about. We have stayed in this resort 3 times. The first time we had a newer and nicer room. The 2nd and 3rd times we had been given the same type room, not as nice as the 1st time but not real bad. We have always like the jetted tub and king bed but this 3rd time they short sheeted our bed and brought up another set of sheets that was even shorter for the […] bed. Also - there was no available parking anywhere around our building. We had to park two buildings away which is very inconvenient. This resort is a wonderful place to stay. We looked at other hotels in the area and none could add up to this one. Activities all the time. Game room for the children. The staff was very polite and helpful. Close to Oldtown and Outlet Mall. Flat screen TV's in the kitchen/living room area and bedroom. Accomodations at the resort were very good,specially the kids frendly pools and surrounding.Rooms are spacious and generous with an overall friendly atmosphere Enjoy

The room had a wierd smell when i first walked in. Also i did not like the switch of the tub being far away. Other than that i loved it. I would definitely stay again.

I reserved three bed suites, two of them for group of six couples for 31 night. And requested to be next to each other. They assigned me two units farthest ever possible. You have to drive your car to go to other suite. Also they call it 3 bedroom suite. It is actually 1 masterbed and 1 reg bedroom suite with 1 living room area.

Its very nice,secured ,convenient and well maintained. The staffs are awesome, we didnt have any problem at all.

We were meeting friends for one night and rented a room for 2 families (4 adults-3 kids). It was actually 2 units combined. We had a lot of space for everybody, the kids each had a bed, it was perfect. The kitchen was well equipped, the beds were comfortable but the mattresses on the sofa beds need to be replaced. This was an excellent hotel. The room was very nice and clean and the view was magnificent. The only thing I didn't like was a hidden $10.00 fee for pool use (which we never used but were charged anyway). Overall ,even for the extra $10 ,it was well worth it. I just think that they should disclose this fee up front.

I would recommend not getting the studio. We had a hard time sleeping do to the noise of the adjoining room. They were very loud late into the night. We had stayed before in the 1 bedroom suite and that was fabulous, no complaints at all.

I was very surprised at what a nice resort style hotel this is. Very pleased with the room - suite was spacious and clean. Would definitely go back.

Great hotel for the money. The rooms are architecturally dated, but the decor is mondern and up to date. The room was really clean and the hotel staff is friendly. We usually stay at Mike Ditka's Runaway Beach club, but we'll be staying here from now on. A lot more amenities on the property and a better quality stay.

the only thing I found missing was additional linens and blankets.

This is a timeshare resort. Upon checkin, I was asked to put down a CC for incedentals.. I did, upon checkout, they tried to charge me a $10 per night "resort fee" The front desk clerk was uncomfortable explaining the charge. The Manager on duty waived it only after 15 munites of arguing, he was coindesending and dismissive, when pushed he stated the […] fee was for internet, pool, and gym and a free bucket of driving range balls. Too bad no one told me about that at the beginning. The internet did not work in my room which was the ironic part. Go somewhere else, this practice is despicable. Devamı

We stayed two nights for our anniversary, we were amazed at how luxurious this place is. These rooms looked exactly like the photos we viewed on line. They are extremely spacious, clean and comfortable. The staff was very friendly. The grounds were beautiful and they had lots to do at the resort. was a great getaway place for a romantic getaway and a family getaway everything in the area lots to do i really enjoyed my stay

Loud techno music played every night until late. Beds are uncomfortable and small (one person per bed). No maid service unless you pay an additional $25, no elevators to get your luggage to the top floors. Excellent facility for kids with the various pools but the room was depressing. I'm done with this property.

My husband and I recently took a trip to florida to unwind for a week. The villa we were in definitely served the purpose given the ambiance plus the jetted tub. What you see in the pictures is what you'll get. Love it. Helpful staff! Will definitely return!

I have stayed here many times. They have a great gym and the rooms are very spacious and well kept. Really nice pool area. They do have a 10 dollar resort fee that covers internet and use of facilities that is not included in the prepaid price. Overall, this is one of the better deals I have encountered in my travels. Awful, Awful, Awful - and I couldn't get out of the contract! Bad beds - bad service - no new towels unless I paid $9.00 a day for fresh towels - $25 a day for full maid service. Loud karaoke hammered every night until late - we cranked the TV to off set it. Beds to small for two and very uncomfortable.

I had a third floor room with no elevators. Having just gotten out of the hospital for a motorcycle accident, getting luggage up the stairs was tough. The front desk wouldn't change my room, beds were old, very small, and uncomfortable, decor was depressing, too many hidden charges. My date and I only stayed one night while we were at Universal Halloween Horror Nights but WILL defently come back just to get away for the weekend. The room was more lavish then I expected. We stayed in the One bedroom villa. I will tell you this though. The pictures can only do so little. You must check it out for yourself. No one asked me how was my stay at the checkout time. You have to pay extra if you want someone to clean your room, no elevators, I heard everything from the room next to mine. Horrible!

This resort is beautiful, well maintaned. Many activities for the family. Friendly atmosphere & very relaxing. Perfect place to getaway for a weekend.

Star Island was AMAZING! We stayed here for a 1 night get away and fell in love. The entire compound is beautiful and very well kept. The staff is friendly and very accomodating. We ended up getting a 1 bedroom villa! There was a jetted tub in the bedroom that was perfect for relaxing. It was like staying in a small house, decorated perfectly. The patio […] out back was over a lake which was great for relaxing at night and watching ducks and a HUGE turtle in the morning. I would love to go back to Star Island!! Devamı

Me and my fiance stayed in the one bedroom villa, the room was clean and very spacious. The hotel resort was very nice. There were several pools and hot spa as well as a jacuzzi in our room. Overall GREAT EXPERIeNCE!

Great place for kids and adults. No need to leave for Disney or go ..... It's close.

Awesome place to stay. I wish they had a movie theater !! other than that, it's a VERY nice place

Very nice resort. I was a previous owner at Star Island. It's a great resort.

they are very strict with the 4 pm check in, they said they would call me but they didn't. beds were very uncomfortable. If you are looking for a heated pool, this one doesn't have it. Even in september the water was quite chilly.If you like hard beds and cool pools then this is the place for you. Star Island is such a pleasure to visit. I have stayed here before, last May, and this time was as good as the first. The rooms are clean and you feel as if you are royalty. EVERYTHING WAS LOVELY! WHEN I FIRST CAME MY FIRST THOUGHT WAS, " SHEESH, THIS PLACE IS REALLY NICE!" THEY PUT ME IN A 3 BEDROOM SUITE ON THE 3RD FL. THIS SUITE HAD 2 ENTRIES, LIKE IT WAS MADE FOR TWO COUPLES, IT WAS VERY SPACIOUS. COULDNT BELIEVE THE ROOM HAD 2 KITCHENS, ONE REGULAR SIZE AND ONE MINI; THE MASTER BDRM WAS EQUIPPED W/ A BIG JACUZZI SPA, […] BIG KING SIZE BED, HIS AND HERS SINKS, ETC. I COULD GO ON AND ON ABOUT HOW NICE THIS RESORT IS, BUT YOU WOULD HAVE TO EXPERIENCE THE STAY FOR YOURSELF. I DEFINITELY WOULD AND HAVE RECOMMENDED THIS RESORT TO FRIENDS AND FAMILY. First I have to say the our stay was really great but... the clientele at the hotel was a little sketchy. I know we got a great deal from hotels.com and I guess so did everyone else. The pools were packed with lots of very iffy people. We booked the resort mostly because of the pictures of the resort, the full kitchen and the description of all the […] kid's activities. We stayed in the one bedroom suite which was perect for our family. The room was wonderful--very clean and lots of room for 2 adults and our 3 kids which slept on the sofa bed. One issue was that the master bed was not very comfortable. The bathtub was huge and the kids loved it! We loved the full kitchen which was very minimally stocked with pots and other kitchen items. There was a Publix, SuperTarget and Walmart very close to the resort. A huge disappointment was the children's activities. Our kids were really excited about participating in everything, but the staff did not separate the kids. So our really young kids were racing/competing with kids 3 times their age which was a real downer for our kids. Sometimes the instruction for the activity took 15 minutes and the activity lasted 1 minute for our kids. The bounce house was a huge hit with our kids. Another huge issue was that we stayed in a building really close to the main office and pool. At first, it sounded great because it meant that we did not have to walk far to the pool and other activites; but at night we could hear the bar music until about midnight. Karaoke night was awful--we could hear everyone who could not sing...sing really loud! I would recommend this resort because of the room and the location. I would just try to work around the crowds.
