Look, it's in need of remodeling and it's not in the best neighborhood. But the staff are friendly enough, it's clean, and it's cheap. It's not a 5/5 or even a 4/5 by any stretch of the imagination, but I really don't know what's up with all these 1/5's.

My girlfriend and I got bit by a lot of bedbugs. The bathroom smells terrible. The only good experience was the cost and the front desk customer service.

Like other reviews there were some chipped paint and the bathrooms could use some updating, but overall I was very happy with the travelodge. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Not a far walk to the metro, or downtown. I would stay there again.

First Impression - bottom of the line hotel. But after being there a few minutes. I have to admit it was not that bad. My first impression was based on the fact that I am used to the quality of 4 and 5 star hotels. But hotel is a better (and safer) choice than other hotels close by. This hotel also has necessary amenities like blowdryer, ironing board, […] microwave, fridge. Also when I pulled back the bedspread, the sheets were clean and the bed was comfortable. The desk was also very comfortable and wide enough to hold my laptop and all my work papers. So yes I would stay there again, and the price is right. Also the subway sandwich shop is in walking distance (less than stone's throw away) so so being a woman alone, I felt safe enough to go out and get a bite to each from the sandwich shop while it was dark. there was an infestation of roaches, mold on the bathroom ceiling, water stains all over the ceiling as well, cracks in walls, hookers on the corner and a homeless persons shopping cart under the stairs. No coffee maker we had to ask, the phone did not work, one of the lamps did not work either, more roaches, small holes in the walls, stains on the […] bathtub, no coffee in the lobby, more roaches, I had to buy spray. You pay for what you get for.Having a deal is great,but any deal on this hotel is just not worth it at all.The rooms are filthy,I had to leave the hotel,not only that someone else complained about the room

Disgusting, dirty run down hotel. Would never recommend or stay at this place again

we had a wondeerful stay and we look forward to visting again whenever we are in the DC area.

This place is a little tattered-looking from the outside but even rougher on the inside. Renovation and some electrical repairs that look barely compliant with building code.

The bathroom walls were covered in mold and the entire room smelled awful. It was a mix of cigerette smoke and mold even though I requested a smoke free room. Everthing in the room had a damp feeling to it...which explains all the mold I guess.

Despite renting a no smoking room, and then having the clerk reiterate that it would be a no smoking room, it was a room that stunk of cigarettes, and then was made worse with an unbelievable amount of room deoderadizer. There was even an ashtray and matches on the desk. I and my clothes stunk for the next three days i was on the road. It was a miserable […] experience. The whole place was worn, tired and shabby. The clue to the neighborhood was that the reception desk was protected by thick bulletproof windows. The bathroom caulking was moldy, the tiles were cracked, the tub glazing was worn off in places. The A/C system was very loud and the walls were very thin. When the person in the next room came in through […] his front door the whole wall sounded like it was shaking. I thought someone was coming into my room. There were people outside arguing, cussing, talking loud all night. The room was none smoking but smelt like an ashtray. The nice thing was that there was a fridge and microwave. Only recommend one night here and don't travel with kids!!

The area was pretty nice and within walking distance of a metro. We drove there from the airport however and there was nowhere to park. We then went to check in and we did not receive the king size bed we booked. We got a 2 bed smoking room. The room was rather disgusting. There was mold all over the ceiling in the bathroom and as it began to rain the […] ceiling leaked in the bathroom. Was not the best experiene with hotels for me. Devamı

The hotel was in a good location, close to the Metro. It was a bit dirty and not in good repair. We requested non-smoking from hotels.com and received a smoking room. There are better values in Washington DC, but in a pinch this will do.

Roach motel. Nothing like the rank smell of urine in the halls.

The location was great - walking distance to Metro, 20 minute ride into DC. Otherwise, I do not recommend this hotel. The staff was not polite. The bathroom had a musty, moldy smell. It's a good thing we didn't need the AC/heating unit, because ours did not have knobs. The ice machine was broken. I've stayed at Travelodges in other places and have been […] pleased. The room was clean and the service was good but the even though the room was clean there was a smell in the room which would not go. Also when the bathroom lights were on the exhaust would make a loud noise. Even after complaining to the hotel management they did not come and fix it.

that's a bad hotel

Urine smell by my door (in corner). Flies in the room. Carpets need to be replaced. Airconditioning kept my wife up most of the night. Not a good experience.

This hotel is convenient to all Silver Spring locations and keeps you off of 495 which is always a nightmare to travel on. I had a problem during my last visit and the management and maintenance staff took care of the problem immediately and were exceptional throughout the process even though it was after normal business hours! I have stayed at this […] hotel several times and the rooms vary in quality - the carpet and wall coverings are older and need updated but the staff keep them as clean as they can. Some rooms are in better overall condition than others. Overall the hotel needs some updates, has a nice and helpful staff, located conveniently to NW DC and Silver Spring, and is a good value. If you are late, possibly you will not park your car in the parking area, and you need to find somewhere else to park your car.

this is the 1st time i use a site like this, he hotel was close to where i needed to be but the 1st room had ants in it, the TV did not have all the channels it said it was suppose to have 5 out of 17, and then the toilet didn't work. the second room was better. Coming back to the hotel, the cops had a raid close to the room I stayed in and that was […] scary. I think I'll pay full price than experience the above again. Devamı

Good hotel - for good value! - for for work

Black mold on the door. Cricket on the ground. Wallpaper faLling off with mold behind it. Absolutely disgusting. Mattress had holes in it.

There were hairs in the bathroom when we checked into the room and there were ants all over the hotel room. There was a little cockroach that got into my cake. We asked for room service to clean the bathroom, but when I returned to the room I found that the same hair was still there. The customer service was also terrible. Nice employees but the plumbing, shower system, and other maintenance issues that relates to the owners is bad. No lobby, a car rental office has better lobby that this. I think if travelodge in the states is like that I will stay away from this chain. I have to stress though the employees are nice. I guess people choose this spot only for the loca […] tlion. Devamı

Dirtiest and nastiest hotel in the world. Room are dirty, stink , Mold, bugs and nasty smell is all over the rooms and hotel. I am not sure why Silver Spring Health Department that they supervise quality of the hotels they don't shut this place down. Never ever go to this place any more. I rather to sleep on street with fresh air then spend even one […] hour in Travelodge. Devamı

Pleasantly surprised with the cleanliness since it was a last minute reservation and most hotels for a decent price were booked. The receptionist was nice, the room neat and cozy (pillows were my favorite). I would recommend and use this hotel again.

The bed/fixtures/etc. were old and very basic, and it was only in a convenient location if one either has a car or uses busses. The Metrorail was a fair walk away. Wifi was very flaky. One evening the whole hotel's wifi died around 7pm, and the manager couldn't get the service company to show up to fix it until the next morning.

This was the worst hotel I have ever stayed, please don't look for me to return. I did not pick up my key until the second day around 9:45 but was not told the water would be off for three hours. Room dirty and a very bad strong ordor not refreshing at all. I feel some of my money should be refunded.

I booked a nonsmoking room but when I arrived at 1:30am I was told that the only room they had left was smoking. I was told to sleep there for 1 night and the following day I would be switched. They did switch my room but the room was sandwiched between 2 smoking rooms so I might as well have been in a smoking room. I still can’t get the smell out of […] my clothes. Also I have some very strange bug bites I can’t say for sure that they came from the room but it is a VERY strong possibility Devamı

Room was full of some type of flying ants. There was other bugs in the bathroom. I was at the end of the hall on the ground floor and the corner smell like urine. It was cheap and I got what I paid for.

The price was right. The staff were charming. The room was clean. The bed was comfortable. No Golf Channel on the TV but you can't have everything, I suppose. There's a Subway on site should you get the munchies. It was handy enough for downtown Washington (we had a car but there seemed to be no shortage of bus stops outside the hotel and the Metro […] runs to Crystal Springs, which has a nice, lively city center).
