Travelodge Silver Spring - Silver Spring

The bed/fixtures/etc. were old and very basic, and it was only in a convenient location if one either has a car or uses busses. The Metrorail was a fair walk away. Wifi was very flaky. One evening the whole hotel's wifi died around 7pm, and the manager couldn't get the service company to show up to fix it until the next morning.

This was the worst hotel I have ever stayed, please don't look for me to return. I did not pick up my key until the second day around 9:45 but was not told the water would be off for three hours. Room dirty and a very bad strong ordor not refreshing at all. I feel some of my money should be refunded.

I booked a nonsmoking room but when I arrived at 1:30am I was told that the only room they had left was smoking. I was told to sleep there for 1 night and the following day I would be switched. They did switch my room but the room was sandwiched between 2 smoking rooms so I might as well have been in a smoking room. I still can’t get the smell out of […] my clothes. Also I have some very strange bug bites I can’t say for sure that they came from the room but it is a VERY strong possibility Devamı

Room was full of some type of flying ants. There was other bugs in the bathroom. I was at the end of the hall on the ground floor and the corner smell like urine. It was cheap and I got what I paid for.

The price was right. The staff were charming. The room was clean. The bed was comfortable. No Golf Channel on the TV but you can't have everything, I suppose. There's a Subway on site should you get the munchies. It was handy enough for downtown Washington (we had a car but there seemed to be no shortage of bus stops outside the hotel and the Metro […] runs to Crystal Springs, which has a nice, lively city center). It is really a bad hotel. There are bugs, the walls are falling apart and the A/C doesnt work well. It is too much money for what I paid. This is a 30-40 dlls hotel.

So-So area just outside of DC depending on who you ask. Bed Bugs galore. The only thing good about it was close proximity to metro and had a subway restaurant right next to it.

the people were courteous and the room was clean. the rate with hotels.com was excellent

Not the best hotel, but not the worst either. If you are on a tight budget this is an ok choice. If you can afford a better hotel choose another hotel.

I chose this hotel for both location and price as we didn't intend to stay at the hotel much. The beds were uncomfortable, there were ants in the bathroom, and reaching the front desk was impossible. I wouldn't recommend this hotel to my worst enemy quite honestly.

Overall the hotel was good. Located within a short walk to the Metro. Daily maid service was superior. Two problems we found. The non-smoking room smelled suspiciously of cigarette smoke. Not good for a family with alergy issues. The continental breakfast advertised was found at the local Subway, and was not free. The only thing free was the coffee […] in the room and in the Lobby. The hotel needed updating in its decor. The first room we had did not have any access to the internet. I was able to get service in the hotel lobby but not in our room. We moved to another room but it was spotty reception. When the service came up it was an access to the hotel next door. We had the same size room but a smaller bed and the decor was […] for a child. I reserved a non-smoking room but at check-in was told my reservation was for a smoking room. I went back to my reservation and it said non-smoking in 3 places! I was extremely disappointed in this! Since there were not any other room available (according to the staff) I was stuck with a smoking room. Beyond their clear negligence in paying attention […] to my reservation the stay was fine. This was one of the worst hotel experiences I ever hope to have in my life. Despite reqesting a non-smoking room, the room stank with smoke and a mix of other noxious odors. The carpet in places was wet. The fan in the bathroom sounded a 747 taking off. And the clerk at the front desk was rude and unhelpful. Lots of problems with room. The toilet moved every time it was sat on. The ceiling patches looked awful. The iron did not work. Tried to take a bath and some white glue like stuff came out from under the mat . They repaired by gluing the mat to the bath tub. Whats up with that? Very small bathroom. Price was a key consideration in choosing this facility, as I was moving to a new location for work purposes. Lodge was acceptable and the location to the work site was great.

The hotel has exactly what I needed. A bed, shower/tub, and internet. I just needed a place to stay which was close to the metro. It allowed me to run down to d.c. for tours and come back to sleep/catch up on email. Nothing fancy. Just a basic hotel. I wanted a non-smoking room, but the hotel staff said my reservation said smoking. It wasn't an issue, […] but it is something hotels.com needs to fix as the situation could have been worse. This hotel was a short walk to the metro stop which is why we chose it, but other than that there is nothing good for me to say. I booked a non-smoking room and instead received a smoking room that smelled badly. The sheets and towels smelled like smoke even though they were clean. The beds were uncomfortable and the carpet was so dirty that it blackened […] the bottoms of my socks and I was not comfortable walking on it barefoot. The bathroom was at least clean, although there were cigarette burns everywhere and the wallpaper was peeling. Not a great place to stay unless you are desperate. Devamı

I choose this motel because everything else was sold out in the area. Room was very old, run down and not too clean (carpet stained, wall paper dirty...) however bed and bedsheet were clean and fresh. Bath room small and also need renewal but clean. It is located 10 min walk to the Metro station, and then you are in the SC center in 20 min. It is in […] a good area of town (nice condos and office buildings) Staff was friendly and welcoming. Just renew the rooms, change carpets, repaint walls, fix broken power outlets, patch holes in the ceiling and repaint... And the hotel will make a much better impression. Devamı

It's a Travel Lodge, so you can't expect too much from this place. The price is fare and parking is free.

The hotel was in horrible condition. The room had mold in the bathroom the walls looked dirty. The floor was dirty and stained. The room was supposed to be non-smoking but reeked of smoke. The room also had a very strong mildew smell. We had booked the room for 2 nights, but decided to leave and make the 5 hour drive home after our sight seeing trip […] in D.C. Hotel is a bit old, pics on Hotels.com are for the Hotel next door. Construction going on but it didn't affect my trip.

Needs a serious upgrade. Has potential because of location but entire staff needs an overhaul and all of the rooms need to be refurbished. Pool was a nice touch but was the only positive.

Hotel staff were not very helplful, but it was relatively close to the metro and the town of Silver Springs was a lovely suburb. Would probably stay here again if visiting Washington DC. We saved a bundle by choosing a hotel outside of the city and riding the comfortable and clean metro trains.

I have stayed at other Travelodges before but this one was HORRIBLE. No such thing as a non smoking room. room was dirty and staff was extremley unhelpful. "resturant" onsite is a subway resturant. DO NOT STAY AT THIS HOTEL!!!

Although the location was very convenient (close to the Silver Spring Metro and across the street from the S2 bus line which takes you right in front of the White House) the overall hotel conditions were poor. Upon arrival, I learned that non-smoking rooms are not available even if you have reserved one - this was the biggest issue. Its more like a badly maintained Motel on the freeway, middle of no where. This hotel vas dirty and poorly managed. Beds were uncomfirtable, towels were smelly, sink area and the bathroom was poorly maintained. There was nothing about the room that could ba calssifies as good.

AC didn't work, dirty, not recommended. Close to subway line.
