Island Seas Resort - Freeport

I had a very enjoyable and restful stay. The entire staff was very helpful, and made my stay a pleasure.

The staff at Island Seas are professional, friendly and knowledgeable. The units are well maintained and clean. The beach is wonderful. Food is tasty and prices are comparable. It was basically a condo unit, and very reasonable. The only thing missing was the lack of internet in the rooms. WIFI outside in the common area is ok if the weather is good, but occasionally it rains...

The resort was very nice and the room quite nice. Overall, we enjoyed our stay at the resort. However, there was an issue with a lack of towels. We asked for bath towels a few times the first day and at least a couple of days afterward. Then there was a lack of face clothes and/or bath towels. We enjoyed our stay, especially becuase the resort was not crowed. Although, the service was very slow. We didn't have towels in our room when we arrived and it took several hours for someone to bring them to us. The bed in the room was a Full size not a Queen. Ok here we go. Remember this is not the US which prides itself with cleanliness. A great spot, beautiful beach, sand and sun. Unfortunately the place isn't as "up-to-par" as one would think. At the beautiful pool/jacuzzi my wife noticed on the first night a stray piece of napkin in a corner, just wet and sitting there. The next couple of nights she […] noticed the same thing. There are cleaners just we're not sure if they are as particular as they should be. Another thing is that the bottom sheet of the bed isn't fitted exactly. So throughout the night it will slip from under you making you feel twisted and mad... causing you to loose sleep and not feel relaxed, which is the very reason why one escapes to these kinds of places. I would recommend to someone if they want a cheap vacation and don't care about these sort of things. But if you really want to have a nice time look at some of the other hotels. One of the bartenders makes the best pina colatas if ever had! Trust me I had plenty at various places. Devamı

The Island Seas is the best value on Freeport, full apartment sized accomodations at the price of a hotel room. Nice beachfront and pool with bar/restaurant. It was a taxi drive away from Lucaya though so plan on some transportation costs. I liked the place overall, many families with children of all ages were staying there. Check in was easy.... most of the staff were pleasant and friendly... some, not having a good day. First room given... not totally clean... meaning, toilets and fridge and kitchen area.... and, the room was on the broiler side. We were immediately given another. BE CAREFUL, unless you are a timeshare owner, or a property owner, you will be given a room […] across the street with no view of the ocean that is shown on Island Seas website. We were timeshare owners, using Hotel.com for an extra night because of arriving early. They kindly put us in a room that we could stay in for our full stay rather than having us in a room for a night and then switching us to another for our weeks stay. (which was more efficient for them ... housekeeping cleaning, paperwork, etc) *You will probably be staying longer than one night, consider bringing your own beach towels....the resort's ran out quickly. *Watch your purchases... sometimes you might be charged more on your ticket than what is on the menu. Seriously. *You will be asked to wear different colored bands which offer different discounts, etc. KNOW WHAT YOUR BENEFITS ARE because the retail staff will not tell you. I paid extra on drinks that my children (wearing bands) ordered because the staff did not acknowledge that my kids were wearing them. When I tried to correct the charges they told me that it was already in the system and could not be changed. :/ * A big plus, the outdoor cafe/bar has free wi-fi service. Loved that. *They do offer the use of their computer at their guest relations.... $5/15 minutes if you are a 'hotel' guest; but, free if you have the right color of band on your wrist ! *Don't miss the shuttle ! They just shrug and say, "gone". Be sure you understand the shuttle schedule. * For the location of the resort, a car rental is the best idea! We had rented a car. They drive on the left there... but, the traffic is 'gentle' and not a lot of cars on the road. Get a current map and have fun... very easy to get aro Devamı

Staff was friendly, there was a decent beach and pool area. Hotel is part of a timeshare resort so you will be invited to a presentation the day after arriving, about 90 minutes, but there is no pressure if you decide not to go. As noted in other reviews, this hotel has seen better days, but for the price it isn't bad. The hotel room was clean EXCEPT the floor as our feet were black every day-moping is not on the agenda. We didn't get maid service one day and asked for a can opener that never appeared. The restaurant service was the worst ever but the food was OK. 1 hour for soup and salad was an incredible wait. The outside crew was very good and the location is […] on the beach, so that made up for some other issues. They charged too much for 15 minutes on the hotel computer and the food was very expensive. Grounds are beautiful. No internet in the rooms. No back-up generator for rooms & power does go out. We didn't get the feeling anyone cared if we came back.

I almost don't want to praise it too much because then too many people will come. Beach is outstanding, and the hotel setting and facilities are actually quite lovely.....If you want a hectic night life, don't come, but if it is perfect tropical experience with any sport you want and all the relaxation you can handle, this is the place....

Everything you need is at the resort if you just want to relax or there's a free shuttle to Port Lucaya for shopping, more restaurants, and nightlife. One catch, the last shuttle back is at 6:10 and it was a $15 taxi ride back to the hotel (about a 10 min ride). Food and drink prices at hotel were reasonable. There's also a small convenient store but […] I suggest if you're buying more than a few groceries talk to the taxi drivers and find someplace cheaper. Some of the tours leave right from the hotel which was also convenient. If you're going to Freeport to party though, I would stay within walking distance of Port Lucaya and check out Bahama Mama's for buy 1 get 1 Bahama Mamas Devamı

We stayed there for 4 nights, the maid knew we had 4 people however we got only 3 towels the first day. The next day when the maid came, she didn't even make our beds but just left another 3 towels. The rest of the time we received 0 towels even though we called, went down to the front desk, multiple times. Also, they give bracelets to have access to […] beach towels and chairs. The chairs are first-come-first-serve, so it didn't even matter and the beach towels were NEVER available. I was always told "30 minutes" when I asked.... came back, still no towels. On the bright side, there was a bus that takes you to Port Lucaya. But it only leaves/comes back every hour. One day the driver decided to nearly run a few guests over and then had a fit about the rude guests (they were not doing anything wrong). Be prepared to tip every single person you come in contact with, most of them expect it. But don't expect it to be as good as service you get in the U.S. Because of this place, I will probably not go back to the Bahamas anytime soon. However if you go to the less touristy places, the Bahamian people are much more gracious and hospitable. Not all hotels are created equally! Devamı

I was on the marina with a view of the water, which was very good and mind soothing. The rooms are big enough and had everything that you need.

I'll go back again. However, the beach front view would be highly recommended. One other thing, go during the March - September time frame. It's around this time that things get the jumping!

Hotel was much better than I expected. The hotel room was big and contained a full kitchen and living room. It is convenietly located on beach and had a lot of activties on the resort. Restaurant and activities were pretty expensive though. However we had a great relaxing week at this resort!! I would definately go back.

der Aufenthalt war sehr angenehm. Leider hat das Wetter nicht immer mitgespielt, denn es war (Ende Februar) doch eher kühl und windig. Da ich viel unterwegs war mit meinen Freunden vor Ort, habe ich die Hotelanlage nur bedingt genutzt. Die ganze Anlage inklusive Strand wurde täglich gesäubert und gut unterhalten. Beach was great and overall hotel was good. Hotel room standart of equipment was very good. Oven, microwave, dishwasher etc. Only minus is that hotel was bit far from downtown, but if you don't need to night life this hotel is great. It was little off-season allready so not much turist.
