Sofitel Chicago Water Tower - Chicago

Overall, my stay at Sofitel was great. The room was clean and in perfect condition. Room service was good. The fitness center was very clean and updated, but small. The staff was great too. Sofitel is located in the heart of Gold Coast, which is a really nice little area with boutiques, shops, and restaurants. It's also within walking distance of the […] Magnificent Mile. My only issue with the hotel is that the prices in the restaurant were a bit ridiculous. My friend and I ate brunch in the restaurant and got a very modest breakfast but it cost $55! My breakfast in particular was nothing special (two eggs, two sausage links, and potatoes) and it was $20! I could get the same thing at Bob Evan's for $7.99 so I was very unimpressed. I know that the entire area is pretty pricey because it's more upscale and touristy, but I felt like this was especially ridiculous. I would definitely stay her again but won't be dining in the hotel! Devamı

We went to the Sofitel for our anniversary. Everything was fabulous. The bed was comfy, the views inside and out were great. The staff was very helpful and courteous. The location very close to many excellent restaurants and bars. The whole stay could not have been better. Would love to go back again.

Had a great stay here on a Saturday night. Close to many great shops and restaurants. Hotel service was exceptional.

When considering that this hotel is listed as one of the top in the city (it's no Peninsula, Four Seasons, etc..., but.....), it was a tremendous value. Nicer than a W, with outstanding service. Also, the food in the restaurant was very good. I paid less than half of what it would cost for a regular room at the above mentioned hotels, and was in a junior […] suite. I would definitely stay there again. It even made my wife, a self proclaimed hotel snob, happy! Devamı

Very friendly at the front desk, our room was excellent. Very enjoyable stay. We would stay again.

We had a lovely view on the 16th floor with very special ammenities....I loved the luffa! The air settings were very responsive and we were able to keep it at a comfy sleeping temp. In the winter it's hard to get some hot, dry hotel rooms down to a comfortable temp, but this room responded to our settings. The beds and linen were comfy, the decor inviting. […] The location is best for shopping, but we also enjoyed an easy walk to the Lyric Opera and Art Institute. Lots of good restuarants. Devamı

Very good location for shopping, even a pharmacy a block away. However, the cramped room, which we expected from the square footage, was unacceptable because of the bedding. The single king bed had an uncomfortable mattress. The sheet did not even cover the mattress and there were little black hairs under the blanket. Gross. Room service failed us, […] they forgot to bring our food.... Staff was courteous. Lobby was awesome. Parking was easy with a garage next door. Devamı

Went for a suprise birthday weekend and could not have been more pleased at our hotel selection! They had birthday suprise waiting upon arrival, all advice and information given was spot on on where to eat and where to visit. Only thing we could come up with was the room size, but that was even ok, just wish it was a little bigger or more like the  […] photos. Devamı

Exceptional hotel. Located within a short walking distance to Michigan Ave and many of the popular watering holes. Only negative, no coffee maker in room, however free coffee in lobby.

Service was excellent - have stayed here a few times now with my wife for weekend getaways. It has been great both times. Rooms are clean, hotel personel are polite and attentive. Only concern, it seemed like the elevators smelled a bit of smoke a few times, that was the only criticism I had. Great location; bar has a good vibe as well.

Very nice upscale hotel Pleasant romantic atmosphere Excellent drinks at the bar and a nice French restaurant. We will visit again soon.

Two nights in Chicago were a great break for us, and the Sofitel was very comfortable. The staff was very attentive and friendly.

I took my girlfriend to chicago to propose and the experience was nothing less then perfect. The hotel was amazing and the location was even better. I have been to chicago numerous times and would definitely stay at Sofitel again.

A nice facility. Our bathroom was musty and smelled of mildew. That was the only negative. Because of the great location and relatively good value, I would stay there again.

I come to Chicago frequently to visit an aging parent, a stressful experience. Staying at the Sofitel is so lovely and relaxing, it gives me something to look forward to. It makes the trip feel more like a vacation. The staff is gracious, but never overly formal. I especially enjoy breakfast in the Cafe. They will bring you a newspaper and your own […] pot of coffee and you can sit as long as you like. The breakfast is not cheap, but definitely worth the price, both for quality and quantity. I have stayed in many nice hotels in Chicago, but this is always my first choice. Devamı

Such top-notch service at this hotel, very impressive! and I loved it. Most important to us is the comfort of the beds as I have back issues and this bed was great. My other concern was the 'smoking allowed'. I did not want to be put in a smoky room. Turns out, all the smoking rooms are confined to one floor and I never noticed a trace of it. I always stay at the Sofitel when in Chicago, this hotel has every thing I look for. Location, comfort, cleanliness and excellent service. I will be back again.

Great shopping location but there are cleaner/larger rooms for the price. The bed was comfortable, room very small, no comfortable seating. Won't choose this hotel again.

It was my second stay at a Sofitel -- Philly was the other -- and this upscale chain has found a new fan! Love the slightly european flair, comfy beds and great breakfasts at the restaurant. There may be other high-end hotels, but it's hard to beat Sofitel.

This was a magnificent hotel, close to trains, tour companys and business. The decor was very tasteful and the room more than comfortable with a lovely view. The restaurant was as nice as any we have eaten in anywhere in the world with beautiful presentations and delicious offerings and a wonderful wine list, as well. Sumptuous. This hotel is superb. Comfort and style as only the French can do. Also convenient to lots of the best places you must visit in this amazing city. No in room beverage facilities. But hey, even better, complimentary coffee and tea in the restaurant! And did I mention the food, magnifique.

Since the moment I called to request an early check in, which they gracefully granted once we arrived from NY at the early hour of 8:30 am, to a late check-out due to our own negligence of losing track of time […] enjoying the wonderful Chicago city, I realized that the Sofitel met all the expectations plus more, much more. Usually in my travels I do not include my hotel experience when sharing my good memories of a new place visited yet; in this case, staying at the Sofitel became part of the whole wonderful experience visiting Chicago. If you are a lover of a modern ambience, sophisticated background music, clean lines and minimalistic architectural decor living space, then the Sofitel is at the vanguard of this style with birch wood covered walls in their rooms, modern lighting designed lamps, marble shower and bath included in their restrooms and of course the service, which I can describe it in a single word… unsurpassed. Magnificent foyer. Great location. Excellent Concierge. One of the best Hotel experiences we have had.

We stayed 2 nights. Helpful staff, great rooms, best nights rest I've ever had in a hotel. I loved the coffee ordered each morning for room service, it was excellent!

This is a lovely hotel in a good location, two blocks from Michigan Ave. The decor is stylish and contemporary. All in all, an excellent value for a top notch hotel!

The only complaint I have is that there are only four elevators. During peak times, I had to wait several minutes to get an elevator. Very undersrved in that area.

Great hotel. The location is right in the heart of Chicago. The rooms had great ac that ran good and cold all night. I would definitely stay there again.

The hotel staff and overall service was first rate. But the dining experience was just okay unfortunately. With French cuisine renown the world over and Chicago having it's own collection of outstanding restaurants I was disappointed with the main dining room menu selections and overall quality of the meal.

My husband and I arrived on Amtrak. After spending 35hrs on the train in a sleeper, the Sofitel was a lovely experience! We were celebrating our 35th anniversary wo we upgraded to a Jr Suite on the 40th floor. Amazing city views!!!! Room was spacious and comfortable and we enjoyed every square inch! King bed was verrrry comfortable! I've stayed in better […] designed bathrooms at luxury hotels. The lighting could also be improved in the bathroom. We loved the Cafe breakfast which was amazing.
