Good as a base to look at the local sights. Other guests (long-termers)were friendly, staff had trouble understanding our NZ accent.

For what we paid it was GREAT!!! Continental breakfast was a little cheap, but couldn't really complain... We went to the zoo and sea world and this hotel was really close!!! Would definetley stay again!!!!

Great staff and accommodations. Beautiful landscaping, nice pool and hot tub and breakfast was ideal. Recommend!

Hotel was adequate and very reasonably priced.

My stay was fine overall, but there was a lot of smoking on the property – including right outside my room, and this was a problem for me. The room itself was technically non-smoking, but the hotel had several "smoking permitted in designated areas" signs around the complex, and it seems that all places outside of rooms (including right outside the […] breakfast room) were such "designated areas". I really enjoyed this hotel, it had everything I needed to make my stay convenient and comfortable. It was close to the freeway and to multiple restaurants and gas stations. The room had a fridge and microwave in the little kitchenette. We received the continental breakfast every morning and the front desk was very polite and helpful. I was place in […] a second floor room but said I preferred a bottom floor room they searched until they could find me an available room. very helpful when you have little ones. i would definitely stay here again. It was ok for wha you pay. The access to many places is a plus.

We loved it. Very quiet. Extraordinarily clean. The front desk woman who checked me in was attentive, professional, good natured and a great multi-tasker. Give that woman a raise...NOW! (you have to cause the customer is always right) The complimentary breakfasts were ok but they need a bigger coffee pot. Calif Suites really worked well for me. Great rate. Amenities were very good. Jacuzzi, pool, court yard outside, convenient, room with refrig & m/w - everything was A OK. I would bring my family.

We wished it was pet friendly.

This place was very bad my room had a bad smell shower head was cloud it took me almost 1 hr to shower because of that.

The California Suites Hotel was a very nice place to stay. It was centrally located, just a few miles to the zoo, seaworld, Old Town, the beach, etc. The heated pool and spa were wonderful and the grounds inside were beautiful! We really enjoyed our stay here.

My son and I had a lovely stay at California Suites Hotel. There were multiple courtyards and the landscaping was beautiful. The pool and hot tub were both clean and fun. The service was exceptional and the staff treated every guest with friendliness. The rooms weren't 5 star by any means, but they were comfortable. I felt very secure in the hotel, […] as all entries were gated and key-entry only. The parking lots were all surveillance-monitored, with screens in the front office. Booked hotel for kitchenette NO untensils pots pans or plates When i complained I was advised that thier utensils kept getting stolen, so they stopped suppyling. Bathroom sink was the kitchen sink. when i complained that thier internet went out was advised that I would have to take it up with manager morning of the day I was checking out.

Hotel was clean and older. Bed area and kitchenette was very small but worked for us. Grounds are nicely landscaped and our room was quiet, though you could hear next door neighbors. Continental breakfast was good with packaged cereal, fresh fruit, packaged bagels, coffee, milk, juice and the daily newspaper. The room was clean and comfortable. The only problem is that there were no elevators, so it was hard to move our heavy luggage up and down the stairs.

Bed is a little outdated, not extremely comfortable. Breakfast is small but the hotel was very pleasurably to stay at an affordable rate

Reasonably priced accommodations. Although the complex is old, it is well maintained and clean. Quite complex with only a few exceptions -- if only some guests would be more considerate of others by closing their room door manually using the door knob rather then slamming the door closed. I choose this Hotel because it was cheap. It is close to the 805 which takes you anywhere you want to go in San Diego. The Place is a daily, weekly or monthly place. The pool is the only thing I did not like. There seemed to have been no chemicals in it. I felt like I was swimming in a pool of sweat since the water tastes like salt. Its an older building […] but its kept up. I liked it because I saved money. Oh yeah, they toaster in the breakfast room only had one side working and there was only one toaster. With the amount of people staying there, I think they should have at least two toasters. Good place for a family stay. Devamı

This was the only hotel that was cheap, but not sleazy. Rooms were small, but clean. No resort, but it was good enough for a place to stay for a couple nights

The staff was friendly. The room was clean, bed was comfortable. The continental breakfast consisted of cereal, bagels, oranges, banana, coffee. The only thing I didnt like was that you had to use a key to get in and sometimes the key was stuck and wouldnt turn, spent like 5 min just trying to open it. If you're looking for a decent room with good surroundings and feeling safe, then this is the place for you. There is a gated entrance before you go to your room, the landscaping is beautiful and there are security guards patrolling all night. But if you're looking for comfort, stay away. The mattresses felt like bouncy cardboard. We knew something […] was up when we saw the mattress against a window on the 2nd floor that you could see from the main street. When I told the receptionist about the mattress, she said, 'We get many complaints about the mattresses.' Um...ok? Beautiful surroundings, no sleep. My back was sore for days. the design is a little old and the beds are a little soft but the service was good and the area is good. I think it is a good value.

well the picture on the website make it look like a beautiful hotel, but when you get there, its another story. It was like a little run down apartment complex that they decided to make into a hotel. not a good place to stay, I think the motel 6 down the street would have been better!!!! NEVER AGAIN!!!!!!!

This hotel had a few features that I appreciated. One, there is a small kitchenette with a small refrigerator as well as a cooking surface and cabinets. There's a small dining room table to eat your food at, as well as a closet, and a fairly comfortable bed. I did struggle with the lights, the main of which has a switch, but also toggles on the lamps. […] One issue with this hotel is the second floor: when people walk around outside, you definitely hear it. Also, I had difficulty sleeping because I could hear someone snoring VERY loudly through the walls. Overall, decent place, clean enough, friendly staff. The bad: make sure you rent a car, the bus system in Clairemont is not that great.... Devamı

The hotel is very old, but has a pleasant pool area. Too many locked gates to get to the room and to the pool!! Many long term residents live in this hotel. Pleasant mini-mall next door with good restaurants.
