Solmar Resort All Inclusive - Cabo San Lucas

What a great experience. My hats off to the Wait staff. Placido , Gonzales, Vinciente, Carlos and all, were a real pleasure to meet. The service was great, and all had a sense of humor, yet hustled all the time. Much […] better quality food than the buffet style all-inclusive's I've been to before. One good thing we found was that you didn't have to stick to the menu, you could just create your own menu (from what was available). There was construction next door on an extension of the resort, but it was not really any problem. As my 20 year old son said, I can't find one thing to complain about. It was nice to be on the Pacific side of Baja Ca. as the waves were magnificent, and it is only a bit of a hike to Lovers beach on the Sea of Cortez side where you can swim in the more moderate surf. Cab fares downtown were inexpensive and even walking downtown took only a few minutes. Hint: Walk down, Cab back. Hey guess what, no beach pan-handlers wow that was nice, and if you want to purchase some trinkets then head downtown to the beach there and you’ll see the normal beach solicitors. First off, great place to stay...just remember you are paying for location and the BEST beach location if you like waves and the ocean...you just cannot swim at all. It is a short incredibly scenic hike to Lover's Beach and well worth the 10 minutes it takes. Staff working the restaurant and bar are awesome, it's management that doesn't get it...So […] close but yet so far...if you can live with the time share crap, it is a great authentic Mexican Hotel on the most amazing beach...exactly what we wanted when we booked it...but won't be back unless we get the deal we got this trip...make to pre-book the all inclusive food & drink option if it is available, it was worth every penny twice over! I would not reccomend this hotel now. There was what seemed to be 24/7 construction work noise going on outside our rooms. It was loud. If you had children with you, very hard to get them settled when the noise was constant. Staff were very helpful, especially the bellmen who took all of our stuff up and down the hill to the room. The new Grand Solmar is being constructed adjacent (will be finished by April 2011), and there is some ongoing maintenance on the grounds of the older units where we stayed. The room had workers outside starting about 8 AM, and we asked to change, and were given another room more removed. Both were semi-traditional style, large and comfortable with […] a workable kitchenette. The construction site noise is limited to 8AM-6PM. The beach and pools are still gorgeous, staff considerate and attentive, and guests at Solmar also have access to all Playa Grande facilities (a 5 minute walk or a free hotel shuttle away). Downtown Cabo is a 12 minute walk; local buses (8 or 9 pesos a ride) stop at the harbor just off the hotel property. Devamı

Nice stay with friendly staff! Great to walk along the beach and see the powerful waves. Great pool chairs and comfortable, safe rooms.

Solmar is close to Lands End and a short walk to downtown Cabo San Lucas. The staff was very attentive and friendly. The resort is older and needs updating. There is heavy construction going on beachfront as they add on another building. Its noisy and a bit of an eyesore. Food was good, but service in one bar/ restaurant is slow because both restaurants share a common cooking area and grill which keeps servers and bartenders running. There are no spa or massage services anymore. They send you to a their "sister resort" Playa Grande. Maybe after the construction and additional cooking resources I might consider returning. Devamı

Great Romantic location, quiet and small! Except for the construction, we booked an oceanfront room, and got a view of the construction site. There was cranes and bulldozers working all weekend. The did move us to a King suite that had a partial oceanview that was by one of the pools. Wir durften eine wunderschöne Woche in Cabo San Lucas im Hotel Solmar verbringen. Die Aussicht vom Balkon auf den Pazifik war spektakulär. Ab und zu sah man Buckelwale vorbeischwimmen oder sogar Saltos machen! Die Zimmer und die ganze Anlage sind sehr gepflegt und das Personal super freundlich. oli tiedossa, että jonkinlainen "työmaa" on hotellin läheisyydessä, mutta totuus selvisi paikanpäällä. Upean rannan täytti työmaa nostureineen ja maansiirtokoneineen. kokemus oli kuin huono vitsi. Un hotel en pleno trabajo de ampliacion con ruido y polvo y con maquinas de movimiento tierra y camiones en actividad. No se deberia proponer esto hotel en la presente situacion. Hemos rechazado la reserva y hemos buscado otro hotel.
