Villa La Estancia Beach Resort & Spa - Cabo San Lucas

Excellent service and beautiful setting for this hotel. Not crowded and a little off the beaten path being a little bit of a drive from Los Barriles. Drive there in daylight! It would be really sketchy in the dark. There is a small airstrip next door if you happen to have a plane like some of the neighbours! Outstanding food at the restaurant.

We had a great time in Cabo. Villa Estancia is close enough to downtown for an easy 20 minute walk either on the beach or the road. Or take a cab for $7-10 into town. Water taxis are available during the day but expect to get a bit wet getting in and out. That can be tough if you have a cell or camera w you. The rooms are awesome. We had a two bedroom […] unit w a king in one room and a pair of queens in the other. A full kitchen, living room and dining room as well as 3 bathrooms round things out. The master suite has huge closets and a jet tub and walk-in shower (also a couch/sitting area). A huge balcony connects the three living areas. Overhead fans come in handy during the heat of the day. Walmart is a short cab ride away to stock your kitchen w food. I suggest not stopping on the way from the airport as you want to make sure your kitchen has the stuff you need (plates, silverware, etc). Ours was well stocked but some are absent a few things. We had a toaster and a microwave as well as a juicer and coffee maker in addition to the full sized fridge/oven and double sink with garbage disposal. Restaurants are decent but pricey. There are better deals in town in my opinion. We loved the desserts at Senor Sweets. Dinner at Los Deseos (Mexican food) was good. Maro's (a little off the beaten path) looks like a dive but offers very reasonably priced lobster and shrimp. The owner Maro makes things fun. La Dolce across the street from Maro's has good Italian food. Be prepared for a lot of people to be offering you things on the beach and in town. A simple 'no gracias' gets you past them easily if you keep walking. Don't buy anything at the first price offered. An example was a jet ski. $40 per half hour. Easily obtainable for $30 and sometimes $25. A good rule of thumb is to display no excitement about a purchase. Offer 50% of the asking and usually settle for 60-85% depending on your skills. I read the reviews, and the person from SF reported these problems precisely, but I went ahead anyway. Very disappointing mistake for us. Pros: - very large 2 bedroom room with a large balcony - we had an ocean view - it is clean - the maids and wait staff were all very nice people Cons: - Service with an attitude when we checked in. The place was […] very far from full and we were told to wait til 4:00. Luggage left unattended for 4 hours in front of the hotel. - We came with 3 kids to use the pools. The water was so cold they would come out within 5 minutes. Now what to do with the kids for 3 days?....... Hot tub temperature was too hot for them. - The food was literally as bad as a truck stop or Dennys, with only one or two dishes as exceptions. Even my 8 year old complained about the kids meal being salty, and it really was terrible. There are 6-7 things for each time slot of the day on the room service menu, and they won't bring you anything outside of that. No dessert at dinner time. Salad was a small head of whole, warm lettuce leaves with mayonnaise on top. A margarita so bad, I spit it out. Tasted like Tang and Tequila. Our nanny traveling with us is from Mexico, and she was horrified at how bad the food was. She begged for them to bring an enchilada for dinner (only on breakfast menu) and it was so spicy and poorly seasoned that she couldn't eat it. We ordered shrimp tacos, and it was plain boiled (previously frozen) shrimp on a plain tortilla- no seasoning whatsoever and no salsa included. - No kettle in the kitchen to make tea. No napkins. No paper towels. Washer, but no soap. A grocery store that sells only a few items at 4X the price. - DVD player not hooked up. No rentals available. - Safe the size of a kleenex box. - On the beach, someone will walk up to you every 5 minutes or more and try to sell you something. My family and I stayed at La Estancia the week before Christmas and it was as good as all of the reviews I had read. Grounds are immaculate, rooms are huge and very clean and the service was very good. Yes, the food was a bit higher than at home, but you're at one of the nicest resorts in Cabo, so not bad considering. Very close to town, but far enough […] away so there is no noise or traffic. This is a more upscale location, so not a place where you'll have any drunk college kids. Family friendly and simply a wonderful choice. You won't be disappointed Devamı

My partner and I are both doctors, and gay. We work very hard, and rarely have in common a weekend off. We went to Cabo in hopes of getting away from the grind. Reception staff were wonderfully accepting, and culturally competent. But when we ventured out, to the pools and restaurants, staff stared at us two men, and even worse, at the steak house, […] laughed in the background and served us all cold food (including the surprise "chef's treat"). This resort is tolerant on the front end, but among the ranks, you will, if you are gay, feel the intolerance from the line level. At the same time, the suites and views are unmatched. Absolutely beautiful. Great service, spotlessly clean, quiet after 10PM. Different classof people than found next door at Villa del Palmar, but fun to walk over and enjoy Palmar's more lively pool scene as guests of Estancia are welcome at Palmar. We stayed in a 1 bedroom 2 bath villa and they are beautiful, prob the nicest on Medano beach. The washer and dryer was an added bonus. Pool area was pristine and the complex is practically brand new. The only issue we had was the Parilla Pool Bar's food was below average for mexican food which you would think it would be fresh and authentic, it was […] also very expensive. Because of this we ended up eating in town more often vs. staying at the resort. Just up the beach is a resort called Cascades de Baja and their food was amazing with two for one drinks all day. They also let us purchase a day pass to use their beach front Palapas with bar service. The beach area at Estancia didnt have bar service so we are glad we found Cascades. Estancia is more of a fractional ownership vacation villa vs. full service hotel resort so it was half empty and pretty quite. We didn't mind this at all. They also don't bother you to "take a tour" and sign up for a timeshare which happens to us everytime we go to mexico. The spa looked amazing but didn't have time to use it, but I will next time. I would also recommend renting a Jet Ski to check out the bay. The kitchen in our villa was totally stocked with everything you needed so it's a great idea to stop at Walmart or Costco before to check in to get groceries. Do not go to the mini-market they have on the villa property because the items are 3 times the price. Devamı

This is a condo property that is a perfect place to stay in Cabo. The staff were friendly and helpful always. It is never crowded and the place is kept spotless. We had a one bedroom unit with a view of the pool and bay. I would stay there again on my next trip. This was four days but next time will be five. Enjoy

If you are looking for a hotel close to town and on a great beach this is a great place to stay. The facilities are very nice. We only stayed one night so I am not able to rate restaurants.

the hotel is fractional/full ownership units - quieter and clean with crisp service. A good choice as we had 2 younger children. we had a 1 bedroom villa with a few steps to poolside. Convenient to town - a quick water taxi to the marina where you could do everything. beautiful property, peaceful, and an abundance of helpful staff. i am fussy and well-traveled […] around the world- and I would go back here. My wife and I were down to celebrate our 42nd wedding anniversary. It was the perfect place to be for this occasion. The facilities were absolutely beautiful and very well maintained. It seems we almost had the facility to ourselves in that there weren't that many people at the pool. Our only complaint is the cost of food. Breakfast buffet was awesome […] but so was the cost. We bought few items at Wal Mart and had a few meals in the room. We would definitely recommend this facility. We would recommend riding the bus to town as it only cost much less and more if you go to the marina area to catch the dinner cruise. The Villa La Estancia is a great hotel, I highly recommend it. The staff was most helpful and the resort was in perfect condition. I'm going back! The concierge desk did a fantastic job of recommending restaraunts and making reservations! Be careful, however, with the merchants on the beach adjacent to the hotel though! We rented a Jet Ski from one […] of the local vensors on the beach. My girlfriend gave them her watch and a ring to hold while we were out on the water. When we came back, the twit she gave the jewelry to stated that he had left the items right on the table, but someone must have stolen them...please learn from our mistake!!! Devamı

This was one of the best travel experiences we have ever had! The resort was immaculate, the staff extremely attentive and made sure that your stay was the most relaxingly beautiful vacation you could hope for! I give it 6 out of 5 stars! This hotel was really, really nice and very comfortable. It was definately on the pretentious side. (I had to sign a "code of conduct" upon check-in basically stating that we would act like adults! There was a dress code to eat in the steak restaurant and we had only brought casual clothes. So this isn't very kid friendly. The condo was awesome. Much more than the website shows. Our family vacationwas a HIT with the 16 year old & 22 year old. Lounging at the pool playing in the waves just a short walk (20 yds) to the beach. Beautifull blue water at the Sea of Cortez with an incredible view of the Rock just across. Clean cool water. A 7 dollar cab (5 min) puts you right […] on the middle of the the marina/downtown area, Very safe incredible tasty food, jaw dropping views of the marina full of Million dollar yachts Snorkeling was easy. The bill fishing was AWESOME. Biggest hassle was breaking $100 bills Love to go back! The clubs no problem HAD A BLAST I would stay away from downtown, much cleaner at the resorts just minutes away. This was my first time to Cabo and I could not have been happier with my choice of hotel. The staff were very helpful and very nice. The hotel was spotless and I felt very safe. I honestly will not stay anywhere else when I return to Cabo.

This was our 4th time to Cabo so we have stayed in a number of nice hotels and the Villa La Estancia was one of the best. A beautiful property that is associated with the neighboring 3 hotel properties so your room key at Villa La Estancia provides access to each of the neighboring pools, activities, and the such. And you can order food & drinks at […] each of the properties which is charged back to Villa La Estanica. Very cool. I was first impressed with the reception that each guest receives upon arriving. They offered fresh water bottles and personally escorted us to a waiting reception desk attendant and pulled out the chairs for us to sit down and rest our “travel” sore feet. The hotel room was immediately available, even though we arrived before published check-in times and our luggage arrived within minutes. Soon we were at the pool area enjoying our vacation. The pool area has a number of pool/lagoon styled areas and a swim up bar. There is soft music playing so it is easy to nap, read, or relax at the pool for those travelers who do not want to “rock out at the pool”. The hot tubs are very nicely hot and have an excellent view of the beach and a gas fired stone fire pit is built into the hot tub deck. Very nice!! We enjoyed a glass of wine over looking the sunset beach area from the hot tub, it was very impressive. The hotel is well suited for families and/or the relaxing romantic types. If I get a chance I will definitely keep this hotel in mind for my future trips. Devamı

Exceeded our expectations. Pool and grounds were very well maintained. The rooms were excellent and very comfortable. We had a first floor room that allowed us to walk right out to the pool. Full kithchen, washer and dryer with dining room and living room. The patio was very spacious. We will return!

The service, rooms and grounds at Villa La Estancia were better than we had expected. The hotel is in a convenient location with a small grocery store on the property and only requires a 20 minute walk along the beach to reach downtown.
