The Islander Motel - Santa Cruz

This is a very basic hotel but a good bargain for the price. The room was clean and comfortable and the staff were friendly. It's right on a main road so there was some traffic noise which concerned me a bit as a very light sleeper, but I slept fine.

No problems at all. Small, basic, affordable, very clean. The lady working was very accommodating w my late arrival, and gentleman the next morning was kind enough to let me keep my car in the parking lot after check out while I walked to breakfast. Would stay again.

Easy access, friendly staff, clean and nice room. Will come back.

Clerks were sooooooo rude. She said she did not take my card, yet it was missing soon after. Maid was sweet.

Not pleasant at all, counter person never smiled, I asked for extra towels they told me I didn't need that many, they said fine but you have to come get them yourself, and they didn't give me the amount I asked for (4), she said she only had 3. Complete Breakfast: cereal & toast , that's it!! Oh wait coffee with the tiniest cups ever, oj, and milk to […] go with cereal. Noisy heater, furniture was outdated, the bathroom was clean, thank goodness. Minimal space and I had the suite !! I will definitely prebook a room to a much nicer place for the same price !! This is an old motel, really 50s/60s style. The rooms are clean but definitely worn. Nothing at all fancy. It is 1/2 mile from downtown and probably the same distance to the boardwalk. Each room has a fridge and microwave, but no coffee maker. The motel was almost empty for this stay. They provide breakfast, which was toast, cereal, coffee and juice. […] Very basic. I would only stay here again if the cost was lower. I think its not a very good value at the price I paid. Devamı

This hotel looks cheesy but it is perfectly fine and clean and the owners are very pleasant.

The only negative are the homeless in the area. But even though I wouldn't let the women and children go out alone to walk the puppy at night the street people seemed relativey benign--more a risk to unattended personal property than personal safety.

It's all there, but a bit old and broken. And quite expensive, considering the surrounding motels, and the size of the room. Also the wifi service was interrupted during our stay. Still okay for an overnighter.
