Village Cove Inn - Kennebunkport

This was a motel. The location was good, within walking distance of Kennebunkport. The rooms were clean but need to be upgraded, they were very basic. Quiet location, good value.

Friendly staff. Room was low quality. Yucky thin stained sheets, bedding barely covered mattress, old dirty lamps, stained carpeting, very weak wi-fi in rooms, In general the buildings and furnishings are in need of updating. But on good side, if you are going with kids you should be comfortable there. Breakfast ALL carbs, no protein.

Very responsive to your every need, plus free bikes, 1 free drink in bar. Window air conditioner was not adequate for the space and they provided a big fan immediately upon request and it was comfortable in the room.

My wife and i spent 6 days at the Village Cove and had expected more for the money. The room was clean but maintenance of building D whitch we were in was lacking. Assigned parking places were poorly marked and not monitored by management. Little did we know the pool was shared by quests from other facilities owned by management and private parties […] were held at the pool on several of our days. This created parking problems for us. The room was quiet until the weekend when some quests played loud television until after midnight. The complementary breakfasts were the same each day and boring. There was no elevator. Only stairs which were very steep. There was also a dirty man's sock sticking out from under one of the beds. The room was decorated sometime in the 1970's and has not been updated!

We enjoyed our stay at the Village Cove Inn. The only problem I had was that the restaurant on the property was closed. Also, we never got a chance to enjoy the indoor pool. The continental breakfast was adequate. We greeted well and our room was upgraded for us. I would definately stay there again if we are in the area.

I had read other reviews about the hotel after booking. I was concerned about my choice based on those reviews. I must say, I didn't find any of the concerns listed. The Onwers/Staff where very helpful. The room was clean and beds where comfortable. The Hotel was properly built back in the 60's, which added to the charm. The location of the hotel was perfect; within a short walk to everything you want to do downtown. The layout of the hotel was great - tucked away, quiet, tranquil setting. The hotel's restaurant and bar were closed, which was not made clear to us before we reserved, but they did serve a nice breakfast which was included with our stay. Even with Expedia's discount, this Inn was expensive. It was old and not kept up very well. the desk clerk was cordial, as was the maid, that we met. Inns and B&B's at the high season in Kennebunkport, are expensive, but this place was way overpriced for the condition that we found it in. If there had been any other rooms available, I would have gladly […] paid a bit more for something nicer. Needs updating, painting, musty smell removing! We had read in the reviews that the another couple were disappointed that the restaurant was not open during the off season but it is no longer opened at all. The hotel needs a lot of repair and for the price we paid we were surprised with how musty the room was and that it needed so much work. The owner was very nice and helpful.

Customers are misled to believe they actually have a full service restaurant. They serve a low end continental breakfast. We felt ripped off. The room smelled of cheap disinfectant and is about the wierdest setup I've ever seen with no real door, but a sliding glass entry where the only amount of natural lighting available would be to have your full […] room on display like a fishbowl. Knowing that we were paying more for location than quality of accomodations, we went into this with already lowered expectations, however, this property failed to meet even that. Room was okay, except for the super slippery tub that my son fell in twice over the course of a week, the less than effective air conditioning unit, a sink stopper that didn't […] work and an unpleasant odor in the room that either went away over the week or we just got used to it. Continental breakfast was served in a dingy, former restaurant and was the same offering day in and day out. Outdoor pool could use some attention. Water was murky and paint was peeling from the stairs and the closest restrooms were out of service. Be forewarned - the 'beach' that this property is within walking distance of is small and rocky - not a place you'd want to spend the day at and walking distance to town is a bit of stretch. Also note that the local beaches here require the purchase of daily parking passes at the local Chamber of Commerce, not very convenient. Devamı

POSITIVES: Walking distance to town, beautiful surroundings, large room, quaint porch, good continental breakfast, enjoyed indoor pool. Good for price. NEGATIVES: Thin walls, commercial drop ceiling. Kinda felt like a modular building. Heard more than I'd like to in the room next door.

The In was very nice. The grounds were beautiful. I wish though theat the restraurant and tavern had been open. It would have been nice to go and sit on the patio in the evening and relax and get a snack. Also my air conditioner didn't work and it was quite stuffy in my room. A breakfast basket was delivered as soon as we opened the drape in the morning - a lovely touch. The layout of the inn plus our room and lavatory area were very nice, but we were puzzled by the condition of toilet and tub area. It needs to be redone to match the rest of the accommodations. I was disappointed that the hotel dining room was not yet open for the season. I would have liked to know this before booking. The toilet in our room rocked every time we sat on it. Other than that the location was nice - just a short walk in to town. The continental breakfast was nice as was all of the staff.

Directions stated it was at 29 S. Main, howver, that was not correct. Took us over 30 mins to find exact location of the Inn. When we pulled in no directions to tell you where to check in. Bathtub could not be filled as the plug was not working. Will never stay there again and will not recommend to anyone else.

We weren't sure what to expect from the Village Cove Inn. We have stayed in Kennebunkport and Ogunquit a number of times and have a pretty good idea of what one gets for the money. While the room was a bit older and mustier than what we expected...overall, it was clean and comfortable and the grounds were quite scenic. There are not many places that […] have a large deck overlooking a pool and saltwater inlet where you can sit under the stars and enjoy an evening Scotch. The restaurant was first rate and right on site, which we found very convenient. After a full day of sightseeing/golfing/etc, we were very happy not having to drive somewhere for dinner and drinks. The staff was pleasant and helpful and despite the rustic atmosphere, the Village Cove Inn felt a lot like being at someones very large and comfortable home. Devamı

We stayed at this hotel for our honeymoon and loved it. The owners are very friendly and the location is excellent, about equidistant to everything. A car is helpful for staying here. It has a cottage-ish feel and is just a tranquil and relaxing place. The pool was lovely and at 5pm, someone even came outside to give us some appetizers to show off the […] chef's thoughts for the day. This was one of the worst places I ever stayed the service was terrible and the room shouldn't have been rented the A/C didn't work and there was a loud niose coming from a fan in the rest room . Also the restaraunt staff was very rude one night swearing in front of my two year old son....

Die Zimmer sind schön eingerichtet und absolut sauber. Zimerservice ist sehr gut. Pool sehr sauber und beheizt. Ansonsten wenig los im Hotel gewesen, was es aber angenehm ruhig machte.
