Little details that make you say, 'Wow, they thought about everything!'. Very friendly staff and room beyond what we expected! We'll be back

The previous reviews were quite adequate concerning the staff. Very friendly. The hotel had homey touches. They think of everything, including filling an ice tray for our drinks in their full size refrigerator. We got way more than expected and would definitely go back again!

This little Best Western in San Diego is really clean! The staff was helpful and friendly and the rooms were well cleaned every morning promptly. Although the breakfast room seemed to be undergoing an upgrade it was still pleasant, (tho small), and had a fair selection of items to choose from. The location was a little farther from the sights that we […] wanted to see however, we did have a rental car and the highway driving was not too difficult. The weather was not warm enough to use the pool but it looked nice. The area seems quiet and the hotel backs onto a park. Overall I would rate this hotel as very good value for money and although not new, very clean. Devamı

A pleasant place to stay when visiting our student. Staff was very gracious and the premises were clean and comfortable.

Good location for San Diego State

After five stays here I'm a devoted fan of this place. Most recently we had a room with a full kitchen; it was spotless and totally functional. Really, the only improvement I can suggest would be harder mattresses. Value, hospitality, rooms, staff are all great.

We stayed two nights in October 2011 and we can only say good things from this motel. The management and the service was excellent. The room was large and clean, the bed was very comfortable. The breakfast menu is much more then the usual continental breakfast. Thank you BEST WESTERN LAMPLIGHTER INN.

Staff is helpful and professional. Check in smooth and fast. Room was clean and comfortable. Cost a little more than most Best Western's. Highly recommend.

We wanted an inexpensive one week vacation, to save money for big travel plans in the near future. The Lamplighter helped us accomplish that goal without sacrificing comfort. The room was clean, the bathroom large (handicapped accessible room) and the king size bed was very comfortable. This last feature was a must, since we have a Sleep Nuimber bed […] at home. The location was perfect for us to access the area, from LaJolla to Coronado. Easy access to Interstate 8. Onkly a couple of negatives. When we arrived, the toilet was clogged, and the bathroom vent fan did not work. I used the plunger myself to save time, and the fan was fised the next day. The Lamplighter is a standard Best Western...but with personality. We chose this motel because it was one of the few that allows pets. Since it was off the "tourist path" it was a lot quiter and more laid back. All of the amenities were there, including decent coffee and two waffle makers! It we ever chose to travel with "buddy" the wonder dog again, […] we will definitely stay here. Devamı

From the first minute's interview with David, the desk clerk to the last day's goodbye with Teresa, all the people at the Lamplighter were soooo helpful. The rooms were clean and neat, and the help was always positive. I thought the breakfast was more than expected - who expects home-made waffles! Most of all, I thought for our bargain rate, everything […] was super. The rooms aren't as big or luxurious as some of the fancier hotels, but for the price, it was great. Sincerely, Ann G. Devamı

My family and I stayed there for 2 nights during 4th of july wkend. The hotel was very clean, service was great and the serta beds slept so good. I did not care for the location. No restaurants to eat at had to travel downtown 15 minutes away. But over all the hotel was great.

Very accommodating staff at Lamplighter. Old style 2 story hotel with outdoor room entrances. Nothing fancy, but a great value, clean/well maintained and convenient to SDSU and points West. My daughter lives in La Mesa, so we won't hesitate to chose this as our base camp each time we visit.

The service at this hotel is excellent. The management went out of their way to return a sentimental item we had inadvertently left behind. I will stay there again on my next trip to San Diego - SDSU.

Avoid this hotel if you want stress free convenience without a car. It's strip mall central in the area, only only 1 crappy Mexican restaurant within walking distance at night.

Very pleasant motel. We did not know San Diego at all and found that we were a little far away from the tourist places, but that was OK.

This is a good, well-maintained hotel with a very helpful staff.

The hotel itself was nice, and the employees were very good. The surrounding neighborhood is a little run down. A decent hotel, run by professional staff.

OK.so if you stay in 2 or 3 star hotels you dont expect the RItz........BUT! The BEST WESTERN LAMPLIGHTER INN in El Cajon was a positive joy. The minute we arrived we were welcomed, allowed to have our room early and in general, were totally happy with all of the staff and the cleanliness of the Hotel (Motel?). No lifts in a 2 story building but that […] was the only small shortcoming. The room was clean, bright and the attention to detail ("fanned" face washers and guest towels!) were things that would put "ritzier" hotels to shame. Devamı

Über dieses Hotel ist schon viel Positives geschrieben worden. Es stimmt alles. Preis-Leistungsverhältnis ist super, der Service stimmig, der Pool wunderbar zum Chillen nach Trips in die Umgebung. Durch die Nähe zur I8 ist alles optimal erreichbar. Lage ist trotzdem ruhig, wenn auch nicht in hippem Viertel.
