Barceló Formentor - Mayorka Adası

This hotel was the perfect place for a luxurious relaxed stay, in a quiet part of the island. You definitely need to hire a car (as we did) to get about. The setting is wonderful, and the choices of food at breakfast and dinner buffets fantastic.

A lovely hotel with fantastic gardens and access to the beach. Buffet food in the main restaurant was very good Somewhere , that in some ways, reminded me of a past generation of hotel stays ( but not in a bad way). A wonderful stay in a luxury hotel. Absolutely first class in all respects, all the staff were friendly and helpful, and they all seemed to speak English. Standards that one tends to think have disappeared for good are very much in evidence here at the Barcelo Formentor. Superb position on the edge of the sea surrounded by lovely gardens. Wonderful […] food with amazing buffets made one look forward to each meal. Tastefully decorated throughout without being flashy the bedrooms are comfortable but not overlarge and clean pillowslips and towels daily were such a luxury. I have been to this hotel before and was not disappointed this time. The staff were helpful and attentive without being intrusive. The quality of the hotel was very high but do not expect this comfort level to be cheap - it is not. The pool is lovely very clean with a separate pool for very young children. The buffet is very good with wide choice.

Good Points: The hotel is in a superb location set amongst stunning scenery, with beautiful gardens. The public beach is good and with a couple of beach bar options for lunch and drinks. The food in the only restaurant that serves dinner in the evening (out of the 4 advertised) is of a good standard. Not so Good Points: The hotel is billed as five […] star and alhough the prices are 5 star,the accommodation doesn't justify the prices at all. The bedrooms are OK, but the attention to detail is poor and the cleaning service annoyingly repeatedly forgetting to top up the tea supplies for instance. The price of the hotels beach sunbeds is horrendous (€60 for a day) although Tony is charming. The hotel advertisers 4 restaurants, but only 1 serves breakfast and dinner. What i found most annoying is that the only restaurant that serves dinner, insists that ''gentlemen' must wear long trousers for the evening meal - and it feels like they still believe they are in the colonial days where expensive = posh. Those days are gone ! My husband, perhaps unkindly, labelled it 'cruise ship posh'. But overall, if you don't mind paying over the odds for the location, and can put up with that, its worth a stay. Getting to Formentor as a foreigner is no easy task. Given its remote location on the opposite end of a mountain that even our GPS couldn't find, the trek to this natural oasis isn't for the impatient or the faint of heart. That said once we arrived we could tell there was something special here. Not so much in the hotel itself which has seen better […] days but the beautiful surroundings made up for all it's shortcomings of which there were plenty. The rooms looked as if they had been decorated in the style of centuries past and the common areas were in serious need of a decorator. The beach however was beautiful as was the morning buffet breakfast. The charge for the loungers on the beach were a little steep as we're the prices at the restaurant for what you got. Devamı

Lovely hotel, magnificent gardens and superb service. If there was a downside it was the lack of breeze around the pool necessitating the hire of sunbeds on the 'public' and, therefore, more crowded beach.

Fantastiskt anrikt hotell med en fantastisk anläggning, park och strand. Utmärkt service men framförallt är upplevelsen av läget och anläggningen det mest påtagliga. Vi var myckt nöjda!

hôtel splendide, endroit calme, très chic ( pantalon long obligatoire le soir), une belle piscine , des jardins entretenus, une plage quasi privée ... un bon choix !

Piscina de agua caliente al aire libre, atención perfecta por el personal, caja fuerte con espacio suficiente para ordenador, terraza del restaurante de auténtica película, jardines de ensueño. Es total.

Durch die sehr abgeschiedene Lage ist ein Urlaub Entspannung pur, allerdings empfiehlt sich ein Mietwagen für Ausflüge.
